If you’ll like, you can also try Dx12 and see if you get better performance . It tends to not be as stable as Dx11 on Linux machines, but its only really problematic on AMD GPUs.

In concept I like it, but sadly 95% of cosmetics that get into TF2 these days is just the TF2 Emperorium group who have already admitted they purposefully release shit just to see how much they can get away with breaking TF2's art style.
(Seriously, look into it. They turned the TF2 workshop into a Mafia style system.)

It's a much more lonely experience when compared to Half Life 2.
At least in Half Life 2, when you're on your own you can expect to meet friends again.
Half Life 1? You see an NPC, you ain't seeing them ever again. Either because they don't appear again in the rest of the game, or they just straight up died moments after meeting them.
It's still a great game when considering how advanced it was for the time, but it still has a low narrative scope when compared to the charm of the series later on.

Yeah, Half Life 1 is great but if you go into it expecting the same experience as Half Life 2 or Alyx, you'll probably feel disappointed by how different the tone and vibe of the game feels.
I think it's probably because in Half Life 2's era, the timeline is very much a "Resistance vs Combine" focus. Where as in Half Life 1, you're kinda just on your own with a few bits of cannon fodder in the form of Scientists and Guards, then everything else is hostile. Aliens? Vortigaunts? Hostile. Military? They want to erase all traces of what happened at Black Mesa.
