Attempt #1: on March, we got hit by a combo of Snare Flea + Coil Head + Bracken. the Bracken came out of nowhere and killed me while my friend had the Snare Flea on his head AND a Coil-Head approaching him
Attempt #2: on March i flashbanged a Coil-Head, flashbanging myself in the process, i backed too much and fell. my friend proceeded to get jumped by 2 Hygroderes, 2 Coil-Heads and 2 Thumpers
Attempt #3: only attept we did as a trio instead of duo: on Rend both of my friends got simultaneously stricken down by fucking Zeus while i got spawn camped by a nutcracker.
Attempt #4: we got jumped by a gang of Baboon Hawks while on flooded March. i desperately tried to get back onto the ship while my friend was getting eaten alive but ran out of oxygen first (the area around the ship was flooded)

Someone suggested that the right click is a short huff for a small heal. Coupled with left click to throw and/or a buff to deploy speed, I could see 244 being more viable in reactive play, instead of simply being for proactive vision blockers.

Or, fully lean into the grenade-like idea and make it left click throw/right click toss.

Also, ramp up damage after sitting in it for roughly ~1m would be nice to speed up gassing trapped SCPs

It isn't that weak, you just got to trap an SCP and then put it outside the door, now watch as their health slowly gets chipped away.

I think the main use besides gassing trapped SCPs (in my play, anyways) is to smoke off an area, either causing damage, or temporarily lowering enemy accuracy. I don't see a lot of use against SCPs that are roaming, except maybe 049 when he wants to revive a group.

Right now, on vanilla servers, every 244 you carry is a 500, 268, 1576, etc. that you're not carrying. Even on servers with item limits disabled, 244 is a spot filled that isn't a medkit, grenade, etc, especially since if, say, you're Task Force and CI spawn, you have to either "throw" it or uncork it to get a good position, which then requires you to back out of the smoke cloud that's forming, which paints you as a target while you back up.
I'm not saying 244 should be one of those "always pick this up" items like hat, but if I started collecting data on the lowest used SCP items, 244A and 244B are probably the least used.

Some people on servers find more use out of another spare adrenaline or medkit over 244 and probably still will, but having the option to run 244 outside of silly strategies (locking SCP in room with you, for one) would be very nice.
