I was visiting this page for months and just found out today that it has been converted to open source on github
My new project is up! https://www.crowdsupply.com/makerqueenau/glowstitch-leds
Hi all,
I have a cool project that just went live! If you are developing USB devices, this will make that task faster and simpler https://www.crowdsupply.com/board-outline/usb-power-injector
now we just need a thunderbolt 5 version of that
Hi all, I'd like to share my coming product here as well .... looking for more subscribers before the strong launch
Pika Power Board is a portable, easy-to-use, widely-compatible power supply. It’s able to provide power for all your projects and gadgets with multiple, simultaneous, 3.3 V, 5 V, +12 V, -12 V and adjustable outputs, with currents up to 1.5 A. More details and a video on this page
that looks pretty nifty!
We are happy to announce that our fund campaign is now live on Crowd Supply supported by Mouser for Pika Power Board. Please support us by backing or sharing
https://www.crowdsupply.com/tikstation/pika-power-board
Nice! Sad to see no -5v. Someone was asking how to get a +5v/-5v power supply for an op amp, and audio power amps tend to want split voltages like that as well. That said, this still provides a pretty good range of the most commonly needed voltages! I wish I could afford to contribute!
Hi everyone! With much fanfare I’d love to share with you my first CrowdSupply campaign! If you’ve been following my progress in this community, you’ll know I’ve been working on a Feather Format FPGA using the Lattice Semi ICE5LP4K. Today the pre launch page is live and you can sign up for updates on its launch! https://www.crowdsupply.com/oak-dev-tech/icyblue-fpga-feather
I have a lot of add on boards in the pipeline for this project so this campaign is only the beginning! I’m looking forward to bringing this to the FPGA community and the Adafruit community as well! 🙂
Just a reminder to signup for updates from my CrowdSupply campaign 🙂
@sweet pulsar you can share your crowd supply project here
oo thanks for the ping

So sad this didn't get funded. Did you happen to go a different route with it?
If you search for "TikStation" or "Mini Power Station" on Kickstarter, you'll see that they also crowdfunded it there (a year ago). And while it did get funded and some people received, some did not. And of those who did, many had quality issues.
and in full disclosure, they joined my $1 patreon when the Kickstarter campaign ran and asked me to review the unit. I declined, I don't review crowdfunding campaigns (from people I do not know.) Within minutes of that reply, they unjoined.
Huh that is fascinating
That's the reason why I don't support crowdfunding campaigns, even when I'm very interested in product. Too much risk, too much, too many shady or failed projects, disappearing authors. Also protection from platforms sucks, at least the one from Kickstarter.
Also, I'm oldschool guy and believe that if you have an idea and looking for money, then you should look for investor/business partner and not expect customers to pay for you didn't even manufactured yet.
In general, Crowd Supply is a reasonably safe crowdfunding option. They appear to vet products with way more stringent requirements than a general-purpose route like Kickstarter.
That said, seeing TikStation, or whatever, show up there raised my eyebrow.

Crowd Supply has a fairly robust jurying process, that vets each product before approving it to move forward with the crowdfunding process. First, a product will go to the prelaunch phase, where it will have to show community interest before it can move onto the crowdfunding phase. Sometimes products make it to the crowdfunding phase, but for reasons listed above, we intentionally decided not to not move forward with completing this campaign, and cancelled it.
Well, thanks for the update. I've had plenty of KS campaigns go south so I know it goes with the territory. In only one case did I actually think I ended up with a creator with less than honorable intentions, so I still believe in these platforms. I'll keep my eye out for other options...
I did see that the product in question is now available on Amazon (as of April 3 via KS update) so possibly got the kinks worked out...

!Shameless self promotion alert! Hello fellow electronics enjoyers, I have just launched a pre-launch for the Esp32-C6 devboard. Check it out if you are interested: https://www.crowdsupply.com/prokyber-s-r-o/esp32-c6-bug
You should be able to run CircuitPython main on it!
you'll be the first non-espressif board
I didn't know that CircuitPython support for Esp32-C6 is out already. In that case it is definetly worth giving a shot.
I just recently added it with the underlying IDF 5.1 update. It's only on the main branch now
Cool, found it! I will play around with it a little bit and see how it goes:)
Ping me if you find any issues. It is very new
@pure portal Thanks, works like a charm:) Wifi scan also works with no problems
Yeah, the chip is quite new so I don't expect features like Zigbee or Thread added soon:( Or you mean circuitpython thread module?
I mean the radio protocol
This isn't really the channel for your question. probably #help-with-hw-design or #help-with-projects

Hi everybody, I'm glad to show what I was working on in the last few months. Last year we had made some designs using a PyCOM GPy (ESP32 + cellular LTE-M and NB-IoT), unfortunately the GPy went EOL and the PyCom company bankrupted. We did not find a good alternative for the GPy and thus I decided to make a newer, upgraded version from scratch but formfactor and pin compatible. It's called Walter and I'm pre-launching on Crowd Supply since two days now (https://www.crowdsupply.com/dptechnics/walter) . If you are interested, subscribing is of course nice, but I would also like to know if you already have experience with cellular projects and what projects you would like us to demo! Kind regards, Daan
My crowdfunding for GlowStitch is live, excited and nervous!! https://www.crowdsupply.com/makerqueenau/glowstitch-leds
The Raspberry Breadstick is now live on CrowdSupply! I hope you enjoy this new RP2040 development board! https://www.crowdsupply.com/breadstick-innovations/raspberry-breadstick

Hi everyone, my CrowdSupply project IOL HAT is now in pre-launch phase: https://www.crowdsupply.com/pinetek-networks/iol-hat
The IOL HAT is a extension to Raspberry Pi and similar Single Board Computers that allows the connection of industrial grade IO-Link compatible sensors and other devices. There is a great variety of IO-Link devices available like distance sensors, temperature sensors, flow sensors, color sensors, or even HMIs. The integration in IoT projects is very easy and can be done in C, C++, Python, or almost any other programming language. I have a demo that uses about 40 lines of Python code (though most of it is exception handling), and I have made a video of this. I would appreciate if you subscribe to the project campaign!
Hello there, a quick message to announce the "pre-launch" of our campaign for PGB-1. An open-source pocket groovebox which you can program with CircuitPython: https://www.crowdsupply.com/wee-noise-makers/wee-noise-makers-pgb-1

Hello everyone, I hope this post is ok since it’s not exactly a crowdfunding project - but I don’t see other channels I can post this sort of self-promotion to.
Anyways, I’d like to introduce the ESP32-S3 PowerFeather. In a sentence, it’s a low-power, solar-capable, Li-ion/LiPo powered development board in a Feather-compatible form factor.
In terms of features, you can think of it as having the following hardware on a single, compact board:
- ESP32 Firebeetle (or any other board with low quiescent current)
- Adafruit Universal USB / DC / Solar Lithium Ion/Polymer charger - bq24074 (or other charging modules with ‘pseudo’ MPPT)
- Adafruit LC709203F LiPoly / LiIon Fuel Gauge and Battery Monitor - STEMMA JST PH & QT / Qwiic (or MAX17048 module)
- Adafruit INA219 High or Low Side Voltage, Current, Power Sensor (for monitoring supply/battery voltage and current)
You can find more details and links to various stuff in the landing page if you’re interested to know more: https://powerfeather.dev (landing page), https://docs.powerfeather.dev/ (documentation).
Features & Specifications
How long does it usually take for Crowdsupply to review a project application?
Sometimes it can take a few weeks. They’re a pretty small team, and it can be slower if projects are starting the actual fundraising
Sounds good!
Hey everyone! Just wanted to drop in and show you all the mini-KVM I've been working on. It turns your laptop into a KVM console, letting you control any headless device through HDMI & USB. I’ve just kicked off a crowdfunding campaign for it on Crowd Supply and would really appreciate any support you can give. Hopefully, you’ll find it as handy as I do for quick troubleshooting of headless devices. Cheers!
A Feature-rich, Open-source and Community-driven KVM-over-USB Solution
Just because you don’t find it useful, doesn’t mean other won’t. It’s best to keep rude comments to ourselves.
He made it
ohhh
He sold out a successful campaign on crowdsupply
da mn thats pretty impresssive
Yeah, and delivered really fast which given the last few years of CS campaigns is great
I'm just gonna leave this here...

oh heck yes, I've been waiting for that
Hi everyone!
I'm thrilled to share an exciting project we've been working on at ROX Automation. While this is a pre-announcement, I couldn't wait to share it with you all and hear your feedback.
We're developing an industrial version of the Feather M4 CAN board, aiming for a launch on CrowdSupply. Check out one of our prototypes below! The final product will be potted to achieve IP67 rating. The final device will be look somethig like this
This device combines all the goodness of the Feather M4 CAN, upgraded with industrial-grade I/O thanks to 2x MAX14906 drivers, and a full IP67 rating! The MAX14906 provides overcurrent protection, extensive diagnostics, and more. It features 8x configurable DIO (up to 40V and 1.2A per channel), 2x analog inputs, and pass-through CAN connection.
The board is just 96 x 57 mm in size, making it only slightly larger than a credit card. We're designing this as a decentralized controller unit for mobile machinery and as a PLC replacement, especially suited for harsh environments.
This is still a work-in-progress, but I'd love to hear your thoughts and feedback!
Did you hand assemble the larger one?
If so, hats off to you. Looks very nice aside from the one inductor slight askew
yes, this one was hand-assembled, but not personally by me. And indeed, hats off to our electronics guy .
What's that 5x2 header near the USB port and what's going on with the tilted cap at the top?
The 5x2 header is for programming and debugging during development phase. The tilted parts at the top are not caps, but polyfuses. The parts were a bit large for the footprint, so we had to improvise to get them mounted. This of course will be fixed before production.
Hello everyone! Our pre-launch page is live!
2 years ago our company started developing a Red Light Camera, we wanted to develop a product to save lives and reduce accidents on the road. We believed the capabilities and numerous possibilities of our design, far exceeded what we could develop on our own. We also strongly believe in Open Source, as it was and currently still is the cornerstone of all our work.
We knew many engineers around the world needed a platform to more quickly develop, test and deploy their Edge AI product ideas, a powerful and versatile Edge AI development platform that could save them entire months if not years of concept development and idea validation. Thus we took the decision to Open Source our design and begin our campaign on Crowdsupply.
Von VisionAI a powerful and versatile Edge AI development platform running on Linux, with an onboard NPU and 4K camera that enables you to quickly design and deploy edge AI applications such as CCTV outdoor cameras, access terminals, and mobile applications without the hassles of custom hardware development. Check us out and subscribe to our campaign!
Hello everyone,
I'm excited to join this community! I'd like to share a project we've been working on for over two years: OBJEX Link S3LW.

Hey all!
TL;DR: I built a hardware CTF platform - The Sword Of Secrets.
I'm excited to announce: The Sword of Secrets! an open-source hardware CTF platform I built for hackers, tinkerers, and security researchers. Although there are many software CTFs out there, hardware CTFs are rare—so I made one myself!
The brain is a RISC-V ch32v003, a $0.10 MCU with tons of features. I designed it to showcase secure hardware principles and common mistakes in cryptography and embedded design I've seen throughout my years.
It's not just a one-off challenge—it's a platform. With a secure bootloader and OTA updater, I'll release new riddles regularly to keep it fresh.
It's now in pre-launch - check it out here: https://www.crowdsupply.com/nyx-software-security-solutions/sword-of-secrets.
Would love your thoughts, especially from the hardware and security community!

Hey Folks
I’ve just kicked off the pre-launch phase for my next open hardware project on Crowd Supply — the Esparagus Audio Brick.
It’s an ESP32-based hi-fi audio amplifier and DAC built for smart home and maker applications, with a focus on open-source firmware, modular design, and easy installation. It’s the newest member of the Esparagus line and continues the same open hardware approach as my previous boards.
Key highlights:
• ESP32 + TAS5825M Class-D DAC/amp (2×25 W)
• W5500 Ethernet for stable networked audio
• Native integration with Home Assistant, ESPHome, and Music Assistant
• DIN-rail mountable and plug-in terminal connectors for modular multi-room installs
• Fully open-source — schematics, firmware, and documentation available on GitHub
The goal is to provide a sustainable, OTA-updatable, and truly open hi-fi audio platform that can scale - from one room to an entire home.
If you’re interested in the intersection of open hardware, smart home, and quality audio, I’d really appreciate your feedback or a follow on the campaign page: https://www.crowdsupply.com/sonocotta/esparagus-audio-brick
Big thanks to the Crowd Supply community for all the inspiration over the years — this project definitely wouldn’t exist without the open hardware ecosystem.
Hey all,
I’ve been working on a dual-channel USB-C power supply that’s tiny.
It fits in a standard credit-card footprint and snaps right onto breadboard rails.
The pre-launch page just went up. Would love for you to follow along and be part of the adventure!
https://www.crowdsupply.com/flake-and-blade-robotics-design/protov-mini
Hey folks! Last week the Adafruit blog covered the project I've been working on, PicoIDE, an open hardware IDE/ATAPI drive emulator for vintage computers: https://blog.adafruit.com/2025/11/11/picoide-turns-a-raspberry-pi-rp2350-into-a-hard-drive-and-cd-emulator/
It replaces old failing optical drives and hard drives, letting you use disk images on a microSD card instead, taking some of the pain away from the retrocomputing hobby. I'm happy to say that it's now in pre-launch at Crowd Supply! https://www.crowdsupply.com/polpotronics/picoide
Whether or not this was an intended outcome, I'm impressed by your ability to trick Adafruit into retroactively contradicting one of their https://learn.adafruit.com/how-to-send-a-blogtip-to-adafruit/what-we-do-not-feature-on-the-adafruit-blog stances.
Oh whoops, totally unintended! When I first teased the project and it was picked up on the blog it technically wasn't a crowdfunding project yet 😅
Hello everyone! 👋

Hi all, we're BrisbaneSilicon, the engineers behind the ELM11 maker board, programmable in Lua -> https://brisbanesilicon.com.au/elm11/
We've launched a CS campaign for a feather-compatible variant, the ELM11-Feather. Its pre-launch page just went live -> https://www.crowdsupply.com/brisbanesilicon/elm11-feather
Features include the ability to generate your own hardware overlay (https://brisbanesilicon.com.au/elm11/build-hardware-overlay/) and inject your own custom RTL module (https://brisbanesilicon.com.au/elm11/config/io-bus/). Essentially, the ELM11 series of boards are programmable at both the software and hardware level.
Please subscribe to further updates via our pre-launch page !
Cheers 🙂
Here is a link for a discord server for the above: https://discord.gg/Rb9kw3Hz. Normally we block discord server links, but this is ok.
#crowd-supply message also has its own Discord server. Should that be shared within here?
there are two invites in the Pinned messages in this channel. One looks OK but one is broken? We could ping @Claire about it
I was referring to the message about the GameTank, not the #crowd-supply channel as a whole. I think accessing the discord subdomain of https://gametank.zone/ will redirect to its invite link.
Discord
Check out the GameTank community on Discord - hang out with 314 other members and enjoy free voice and text chat.
i was giving the link for the ELM-11 discord. I copied it from an auto-deleted post. I thought the gametank and the ELM-11 are two different thigns?
I was mostly curious about the general rule around sharing Discord invite links within #crowd-supply, while using the GameTank message (#crowd-supply message) as an example.
We prevent most users from pasting direct Discord Invite links, because we've had too much trouble with spam for inappropriate discord servers. It's fine if someone wants to post a discord link we can vet: a moderator can vet it and then posts it. Maybe we should add a pinned message to that effect in the channel.

Hey folks! We’ve been working on a project to solve one of the most frustrating bottlenecks in wireless research: Integrive-100 MIMO SDR.
Most SDRs rely on a host PC for real-time signal processing, which introduces non-deterministic latency and jitter. This makes accurate 5G/6G and URLLC prototyping nearly impossible. We spent two years optimizing our hardware to offload the entire PHY chain (OFDM, Sync, FEC) directly to a Zynq 7020 FPGA.
So we created a standalone MIMO SDR with ultra-low phase noise and it takes the 'infrastructure pain away', letting you achieve Day 1 Productivity with simple API access (C/C++, Python). I’m happy to say that Integrive-100 is now in pre-launch! Check out our demo and technical specs here:
[Project Link] https://www.crowdsupply.com/htwave/integrive-100
[Demo] https://youtu.be/o-cW08NGJvM?si=VMHCtD05Bye8UAbn
Tired of SDR latency and unreliable RF clocking? We built the Integrive-100, an FPGA-based SDR platform designed to handle the heavy lifting of the physical layer (PHY) directly on the hardware.
In this video, we demonstrate a full 264.1 Mbit video file transmission between two boards with zero retransmissions.

Hi everyone!
We are working on a hardware project focused on Micro Omni Wheels, designed specifically for very small robots where traditional omnidirectional wheels don’t perform well.
The goal is to enable smooth, precise, and stable movement at centimeter scale, opening the door to new possibilities in small robotics and motion systems.
We’re currently preparing the project for a Crowd Supply launch and I’d love to share progress and get feedback from the community.
https://www.crowdsupply.com/vinci-innova/vinci-micro-omni-wheels
Hi everyone, I’m launching Dr. PD, an open-source USB-C Power Delivery analyzer and programmable sink.
It can sit between a USB-PD source and sink to decode traffic and correlate it with VBUS behavior, or connect directly to a source and emulate a sink for charger and power supply characterization.
A few headline specs:
USB-PD 2.0 / 3.0 / 3.1 / 3.2 support
SPR, EPR, PPS, and AVS support up to 48 V / 5 A / 240 W
Bidirectional VBUS measurement: 0–60 V and -5 A to +5 A
Real-time protocol decode with synchronized voltage and current logging
Browser-based UI with no drivers or installation
Python, JavaScript, SCPI, and USBTMC support for automation
Fully open-source hardware, firmware, and host software
The goal is to make serious USB-PD analysis more accessible without relying on proprietary tools that cost hundreds or thousands of dollars.
Find out more on our pre-launch page:
https://www.crowdsupply.com/t76-org/dr-pd
I’m also looking for beta testers, so please reach out if you’re interested.
Very cool. I've had issues in the past with hubs and couplers for omni-wheels. Would be helpful to focus on how to attach these and what common motors to use.
Hi! The mounting method is pressure-fit, allowing for quick assembly without screws or adhesives. One side is designed for 1.5 mm diameter shafts and the other for 2 mm shafts. If necessary, the hole diameter can be manually enlarged.
Hi All,
We've just released the beta of our IDE for the ELM11 / ELM11-Feather boards - see https://brisbanesilicon.com.au/elm11/elm11-ide/.

Hi everyone, Adam here from Vector 3D (https://youtube.com/vector3dp)
I'm here to introduce AD5 by OHM Made Academy, the new home of our DIY electronics! AD5 is a headphone amp and DAC where the tiny SMD components are pre-soldered, but the through hole components are assembled by you!
Many DIY electronics projects lack detailed instructions, learning opportunities, and, in the end, leave you with a mediocre finished product. AD5 is different because it’s way more than just an empty PCB with a bag of parts. Each kit will ship with high quality instructions that give you a chance to hone your skills, assembly jigs and trays to keep you organised, all designed around a simple workflow that won’t overwhelm you. Plus, open source files will help you maintain the device you built.
Let me know you questions, and subscribe to the project! https://www.crowdsupply.com/vector-3d/ad5-diy-headphone-amp

@vale tendon It's a fantastic name
For me, making TinyPICO Open Source was about building community but also about giving back to the community.
easy question, not an easy answer... 😉
More on the symbiosis between open source and crowd funding: https://blog.crowdsupply.com/2017/05/02/crowdfunding-open-source-better-together/
We have also found that the communities are tight nit - such as Drones, DIY Robo Cars and Donkey Car.
I missed the first part 😦
I believe Ada will be posting the interview on Youtube once it's done.
Yeah, I'll have to watch back through
👍
Because CircuitPython is awesome 😄
It makes using hardware so easy 😄
indeed. and only getting awesomer... (disclaimer: i cannot predict the future)
Yessssssssssss. 🐍
I found CircuitPython throughout the development phase. I was amazed that such a link between hardware and software existed since most of the other Python libraries don't work very well .
nice one @toxic pulsar !
def going to have to get one of those. 👏 @toxic pulsar
Thanks! 😄

I've used and learned sooo much form adafruit guides 😄
Crowd Supply has emailing questions 😄
Thanks @fair rivet!!!!
Thanks to all who attended!
Thanks for chattin with us!
Thanks @deft shore !
Thanks!
That was great!
Feel free to hit us up with follow-up (or other) questions here. And let us know what you'd like to learn more about.
I would have loved to see more of your office area 😉
That was fun!
@fair rivet Teardown sounds amazing! I need to see how it fits in with my campaign schedule, I'd love to attend.
You should definitely attend.
I'm glad I was able to catch the interview 😄
@toxic pulsar will be there, too.
Thanks for being here. Real-time chat... what will they think of next?
It's a long way to travel from AUS, and an expensive trip 😉 But sounds like a super valuable experience
I'll be driving myself, so its quite a ways 😄
Yeah, it's not nearby for a lot of people. I know xobs is coming in from Singapore, Alasdair from the UK, etc.
So I'm curious about what made you all decide to just focus on electronics projects for the platform?
Awesome that Alasdair will be there, I know hes excited about the Giant Board
Two reasons:
- Those are the projects we as employees were most interested in.
- Those are the projects our audience were most interested in, which translated to sales.
We basically made the place we wanted to use for our own projects.
Its always good to work in areas that you're passionate about
Makes total sense... it's much easier to grow in a space you are more passionate about
hahaha... @toxic pulsar
Well, I do like BBQ sauce, but that just wasn't a sustainable business model!
Actually, I still wear one of the jackets that launched with us on the very first day.
And I still have a jar of Felton & Mary's sauce...
(the plaid version)
cool jacket! hahaha
It will be too warm in June to wear it, but maybe I'll show it off at Teardown for a few minutes.
I'm super glad you pivoted to just focus on hardware.... KS has become a terrible place to launch hardware projects
Ancient Crowd Supply history: https://www.crowdsupply.com/felton-and-marys-artisan-foods/bbq-sauces
Sauce (BBQ or otherwise) is a surprisingly tough market...
and having a platform that is so focused is what brought me to CS.
Kickstarter is a great place for arts patronage. Crowd Supply is a great place for hardware.
Yeah, we've only become more and more focused over time. It was a pretty natural evolution.
@vale tendon the food business is brutal.
^^^truth
yeah. i have relatives in the market. the stories...
I'm looking forward to seeing ideas tossed into the channel for early feedback and refinement.
Finding a good group of people to share that stuff with is really important.
Same! I'll be checking in here frequently (I'm CS Director of Communications, btw).
Feel free to ping me with your queries.
For those thinking about launching a CS campaign, I wanted to say that working with the team there has been AMAZING... Helpful, responsive, honest feedback and guidance.
And they keep their cool, even when some of their creators cough make their lives harder than they should 😉
Thanks for the kind words!
Aw, thanks.
Listen, project creators go through a lot of stress. It's when they aren't stressed that I start to worry. 😃
I have no comparison as I've never launched anything via crowd funding but, Crowd Supply has been great! 😄
Ok, so I'm doing great then, hahaha!
Yeah, if I said I wasn't stressed, I'd be lying
@toxic pulsar the best is yet to come!
I'm SOOOOOO excited!
@hot panther - you should come to Teardown, but no guarantees that I won't mess with you a little there... :-).
@long zephyr Hahaha... dude, you deserve to take as many shots as you like!
I've been working on the Giant Board for a long time, its so nice to see it coming to life 😄
How long @toxic pulsar ?
Oops, dropping off for a meeting. Back later.
It's been almost a year since my TinyPICO journey started... it seems tooo long, but it took as long as it needed, it seems.
Ok, I need to head out too. Thanks @fair rivet @long zephyr and team for the stream and chat. It's been great!
I started working on it around September of last year or so, I haven't been keep track 😁
Ok, so not too long 😉 hahaha
Yeah, its really not long in the gist of things
k, gotta run, bye everyone!
@deft shore would you like a separate crowd supply role?
@pure portal That would be great, thanks.
Cool seeing the interview with adadfruit. Very nice. will have to look around more.
<@&578374950705168386> Ok, we have a Crowd Supply Creator role now. Let me know who else should be added
Looks good, @pure portal Thanks for doing that.
Saw the interview with Adafruit. Been using CircuitPython and learning a lot and having fun with it. Here's some custom stuff we've worked on. http://www.high-techmagic.com/Custom.html

Is Chris Osterwood from Capable Robot on here? I think there could be an issue with his bootloader for the USB Hub
This:
26 #define BOOT_GCLK_ID_CORE SERCOM3_GCLK_ID_CORE
27 #define BOOT_GCLK_ID_SLOW SERCOM3_GCLK_ID_SLOW
should be:
26 #define BOOT_GCLK_ID_CORE SERCOM1_GCLK_ID_CORE
27 #define BOOT_GCLK_ID_SLOW SERCOM1_GCLK_ID_SLOW
@deft shore could you pass this message along for him to double check?
@viscid canyon
Sorry, @vast mauve I don't know him.
@vast mauve - thanks for the heads up. I see your point (USART is defined as SERCOM1 and then 3 is used for GCLK). I'ver verified the change continues to work, but in fact am not using any of that functionality. I install the bootloader via SWD and don't intend users to update it over serial. May make more sense to just remove the whole BOOT_USART definition.
Cool. I have been trying to work out how to remove it completely for one of my bootloaders but have not found a way for samd51. If you know how could you let me know?
Thanks @viscid canyon
Let me just refraise what I said this morning... I don't know of any implementation to do what you want (disable UART) for the SAMD51. I have not been able to find a documented way within the bootloader library.
I opened an issue for this discussion here: https://github.com/microsoft/uf2-samdx1/issues/78

@hot panther Any thoughts about making TinyPICO work with CircuitPython?
@patent hull Not possible, as CircuitPython requires integrated USB, which the ESP8266/32 doesn't have. It's the same reason Adafruit stopped supporting it on their own Hazzah Feathers.
But my new ProS2 board uses the "soon to be released" ESP32-S2 that will have integrated USB, so that could be a good candidate for CircuitPython.
@hot panther D'oh! Of course. I'm getting one in my next order, will play around with Arduino and also as a NINA firmware co-processor to CircuitPython (NINA allows a&d writes currently, pending changes to allow a&d reads. Very cool board, thanks for putting it out there! Yes, watching and waiting for the -S2 🙂
Also, you have MicroPython on the TinyPICO 🙂

anyone know of any SBCs with 2 HDMI inputs? looking for something like this but with 2 HDMI inputs instead of 1 HDMI input and 2 outputs - https://www.inforcecomputing.com/products/application-ready-platforms/qualcomm-snapdragon-600-inforce-6420t?scroll=learnmore - I don't need them to be UHD HDMI inputs. HDMI 1.4 (1080p is fine)
Inforce 6420 SBC is the first product in our line of Application ready platforms. This Single Board Computer enables embedded designers to create solutions that require edge computing in the IoT space or that instantly collaborate in any huddle space with
That seems like an odd configuration, perhaps just add an HDMI capture device?
@wintry sphinx that's the whole point, we're looking for components to make what amounts to an hdmi capture device for a certain use case. there's only two types of hdmi capture devices on the market, fake ones from china that advertise 1080p and can't even pull 480, and then pricey ones that are commercial. we're looking to put together a project and have some good initial backing, similar to https://hdmi2usb.tv/home/ but up to date
@lyric yew the NeTV2 (https://www.crowdsupply.com/alphamax/netv2) has two HDMI inputs.
Woh cool!
I'm brand new to Discord (in general, and also for crowd-supply). Here's what we're working towards:
Hoping to launch Crowd Supply campaign soon.
Our pre-launch is a bit outdated right now (ignore the older prototype board there).
welcome @flint monolith ! looks neat
Thanks!
Hello everybody. I am looking for a bit of feedback for my crowdsupply project. It is an open source 12A peak h bridge driver. I am putting together a comparison chart and would like to know the parameters that people want to know about. I have included some of the major ones. Please mention any others that would help you make a decision on this product. Thank you.
Size
20mm x 15mm x 12mm
Driver Type
Full Bridge
PWM capability
up to 20kHz
Operating Voltage
4-28V
Peak Current
12A
Input Level
up to 5V
I'd be interested in knowing if it had provision for dynamic braking, shoot-through protection, if it supported 3.3V logic inputs, whether it's has isolated inputs, and what provisions there are for connecting the power supply and motor (the board pictured looks like it just has 0.1" header pads, which seem a little undersized for 12A).
Nice suggestions @wintry sphinx.
<@&578374950705168386> Could someone get in touch about shipping info on our github page?
@vast mauve Looks like you got the information you need, but ping us there again if you need anything else.
I’m really curious to know about the process beyond a prototype, to get something mass produced in china. Or even small numbers of something. I know I can design a pcb online and order some for super cheap-are there companies that will build the entire thing? Either you have parts shipped to them or they have their own parts?
Like if instead of ordering cheap pcbs to make myself is there any websites I can order like lets say 10 of something completely built?
@dense iron I'm also interested in this. No first-hand experience with it but I've gotten a lot of promos from Seeed Studio for their services: https://www.seeedstudio.com/prototype-pcb-assembly.html
Seeed Studio Fusion offers one stop quick turn, high-quality, low volume yet affordable PCBA service, ideal for engineering firms, makers, Kickstarter projects and students. Get a Quote!
There are other places that offer assembly as well (JLBPCB, Slingshot, PCBGogo, CircuitHub). Prices vary considerably, but if you can use in-stock parts (especially at Seeedstudio) or parts available from Octopart, it tends to go more smoothly. The only one of these services I've used personally is CircuitHub, who does a first-rate job, but they're the opposite of cheap.
Good, fast, cheap: you get to pick two.
OSH Park now offers some assembly services.
Advanced Assembly, Screaming Circuits, and MacroFab are other places that come to mind.

Got any questions about controlling large video LED displays? We're doing an AMA with Gordan from Pixblasters right here - tomorrow Wednesday Nov 27 at 11:30 AM (PST). https://bit.ly/2rsyvGV
Hello and welcome to @dense iron !
Do you want to start by giving a bit of background about yourself?
Hello everyone!
I am Gordan from the makers duo Pixblasters. We are experienced embedded/FPGA engineers who come up with an idea of enabling huge digital signage video LED displays to everyone.
Our campaign explains the history of the development of that idea - from the fact that it was almost impossible to do 20yo ago, the development of single board computers like Raspberry Pi and BeagleBone, availability of LEDs... Everything aligned to approach to large video screens from the bit different angle - by using the LED strips.
Your campaign is wrapping up today - was there any interesting or unexpected feedback that you got from backers during the campaign?
Thanks for asking. One of main campaign goals is, aside to enabling the initial production run, getting a feedback from the community. We have definitely received many valuable info.
For example, we get a clear idea of what LED strip types need to be supported, found out what needs to be more explained in details, etc.
We will inform our supporters about planned future upgrades in one of the upcoming updates. For sure, there will be support for APA102 and SK6812 LED strips. We will also investigate other LED systems.
Of course, the end of the campaign does not mean that we will stop communication in that way. If there are interesting suggestions that can be supported with the present HW/SW system, we would be pleased to hear more about it.
That's great, communication is always encouraged.
btw, some supporters plan to build reaaaallly big displays! We hope to see videos of such DIY achievements in the future.
Very cool! Do you have any favorite demos so far?
First we need to deliver more boards to the field 😃 As far as we've been told - installations of the bus-size are planned.
Btw, the campaign is wrapping down. The next step is a production. Currently we prepare test bench for the produced board that will be tested and SW flashed before the shipment.
I'm sure backers will appreciate updates throughout the process. You're using a local factory for manufacturing - are you planning to visit?
Yes. We have experience with the factory. Depending of their schedule, which is always stretched at this time of a year, we will try to go with the initial production run in order to test the manufacturing process. The board is already produced in a smaller batch, but there were some smaller changes that needs to be double checked.
@dense iron according to the product description Pixblasters Video LED Controller supports several different types of addressable LED strips: WS2811, WS2812, WS2812B, SK6812. Which type is your favorite and why?
The latest two are our preferred choice because of the speed. They enable 60 frames per second vertical refresh rate, or in other words, very smooth video reproduction. Even when you are filming such displays, video artifacts are hardly visible or totally invisible.
But, the configuration interface enables controller adjustments for any of above LED strip types. We were targeting the fastest LED strips because of video.
My suggestion for any LED enthusiast is to have a good look at the datasheet. Some of those LEDs have mixed R, G and B color components. The RGB order in the control word is also programmable on our LED controller.
Good question @nimble granite ! Thanks all for tuning in, and thanks to @dense iron for being here. We're gonna wrap this up, but stay tuned for Pixblasters manufacturing updates in the coming weeks.
Thank you all. Special thanks to Crowd Supply team for all support received before, during and after the campaign. The Pixblasters team can be always contacted either through the Crowd Supply platform, or through our website www.pixblasters.com
And if you haven't ordered yours yet - there are still a few hours left in the campaign! https://www.crowdsupply.com/pixblasters/video-led-controller
Hello Everyone! How are you all. My name is David and I operate out of Augusta, Ga with Cyber City Circuits. I have an exciting project coming soon to Crowd Supply called the Dreamweaver 4N. It is a fun real-time four note sequencer.
Here is a video one of my early beta testers made. It has a lot of possibilities the more you play with it.
New toy for noise here at Pizza Hell. This is a really fun device that I'm just beginning to dive into for its possibilities! http://www.dream-enterprise.com...
So what is this place?
can it help me if I want to purchase more Nodemcu-32s, tft SPI touch displays, esp32-cam, etc??
Hello folks, my project will also be coming soon on CrowdSupply, do check it out and sign up if you're interested! The module has an FPGA (iCE40UP5K) and a low power camera, MEMS mic and 6DoF IMU. Will be developing some machine learning examples for this platform soon...

Hey everyone! The first week of the campaign has gone GREAT! We have received a lot of very good and constructive feedback. We started a whole new design and we have added a ton of new features. All inputs and outputs can be made fully compatible with the Eurorack ecosystem.
-
An On-board Programmer (CH340G) - A Programmable Digital Input/Output (3.5mm) - Two Fully Programmable Analog Inputs/Outputs (3.5mm) - 8 Individually Addressable RGB LEDs - 8 Fully Programmable Button Inputs - Micro-USB Port - ATMEGA328P-AU - 6 Analog Knobs – Speaker - An Audio Output Jack (3.5mm)
We’re about to order this new design and we’re super excited to show it to you on a future update!
@spiral isle have you thought about using a SAMD21 or 51 instead? Then it could run CircuitPython 🙂
@pure portal I did think about using an ARM Cortex, but didn't consider using CircuitPython. That might be nice. I might move to it on a future revision.
@pure portal Thank you for the feedback.
👍
Robo HAT MM1 is now out in the wild! 😎
Reach out if you need a hand at all
Hey everyone! The Dreamweaver 4N just got a major upgrade! Check out this tiny little synth!
The new DREAMWEAVER 4N has 8 RGB LEDs along with lots of new functionality. The colors of the lights change depending in the notes being played! It's also much smaller than it was before.
Check it out.

Now looking for field reports!
Hello everyone! My name is William and I have a plan to start a CrowdSupply Campaign in March. Our product fits in the maker and hobbyist electronics category. We are starting to design our page, marketing plan and we do have a functional prototype. We are seeking advice from others who already lead a campaign. In retrospective, is there anything you think you should have done that could be useful for a newcomer or general advice for a new team? Thank you very much!
Hey @eternal forge , Feel free to PM me if you like.
How does one get added to the Crowd Supply Creator role?
@vast mauve I'm not sure. We need a <@&327289013561982976> with more privs than me, I think?
@vast mauve Are you asking for yourself?
Yes
@vast mauve I'm waiting to hear from someone who would know better than me presumably some sort of verification would need to take place, though public channels are not the best. Hold tight for now
Ok. Thanks @sweet kayak . You can verify with any of the CS guys. They know me well 😂 Been on this channel since the start.
I don't doubt it! that said, "Trust but Verify" and whatnot
Did you just quote Ronald Reagan quoting an old Russian saying back to the Soviets?! @sweet kayak is baller.
Hey friends! My name is Claire, I am a new Project Manager at Crowd Supply, and oh boy oh boy I am superduper uber stoked to be here! I am a long time hardware hobbyist with a passion for lasercutting, leds and micro drones. I've also been reading the Adafruit blog most mornings for...oh...years and years at this point! If you have any Crowd Supply questions, or even if you just wanna chat about hardware, crowdfunding or projects feel free to ping me. I'll be hanging around here regularly 🙂 Nice to meet you all!
@topaz timber hiii 👋
@topaz timber Welcome!
@slate geyser @formal condor Thank you thank you!! 💖
@formal condor can we give a few more folks crowd-supply roles? I'd like to add SlumberParty and hsp.
@fair rivet Yes, absolutely. 🙂
Great, much appreciated.
Hello everyone! Anyone work on any neat projects over the long weekend? I managed to make it out to Dorkbot at Ctrl-H (PDX Hackerspace) last night, and I'm studying for my Ham Radio license next weekend. 😁
I started poking around looking at online electrical engineering courses this weekend. Anyone have any recommendations or experience?
@deft shore I'd also love to hear recommendations for this if anyone sees this! I can use my google-fu but I'd love to hear first hand experience.

Hey @vast mauve is it about generating code automatically like Visual Studio ?
There's no visual studio involved. It is mainly the tools provided in pxt-maker
The backend of make code is all nodejs
And JavaScript.
Make code is a drag and drop interface run in a web gui
@river widget I already finish our campaign. You can check it out here:

Nice ! Congratulations
If you don't mind, would you like to share how many months before launching the campaign, did you start working on the idea to crowdfund ?
@vast mauve Epic! 💯 I really appreciate MakeCode. Gives me the warm fuzzies.
New LimeFRE update, shipping estimate and acrylic case: https://www.crowdsupply.com/lime-micro/limerfe/updates/new-shipping-estimate-and-acrylic-case
@river widget probably about 6 months and then we are still going now. In total maybe 12 months now. We were forming a team at the same time.
The RoboHAT project is still looking for Field Reports: https://www.crowdsupply.com/robotics-masters/robo-hat-mm1/updates/submit-your-robo-hat-mm1-field-reports
@vast mauve wow ! Kudos to your persistence !
I am sure every campaigner here has a similar story
Hello Everyone, I have recently applied on Crowd Supply (Jan 21) and waiting for a response from their end. Can anyone share a few details about the number of days it took for them to get reviewed at Crowd Supply ?
@river widget Thanks for checking in! We currently have a backlog of submissions we are working through as fast as possible. If you give me the name of your project I can try to give it a look a bit faster 🙂
@topaz timber Thanks for getting back to me ! I can understand the pressure involved. The project name is AutoMagic: Open DIY Smart Kiosk.
I also got a ticket assgined #DC00001633 by sending an email to info@crowdsupply.com with additional info.
Get Wired - A complete solution for easy-to-use and affordable wired home automation - is now LAUNCHED!
I think the videos on CrowdSupply are not playing, is it only for me ?
Vimeo had a glitch, apparently they're working on it.
Yup it works, thanks
Anyone have any back channels with hacksterio to get an account unblocked? I posted a tutorial and it thought it was spam 😭 . Now I cannot do anything with my account (which means no tutorials for Robo HAT).
@vast mauve I checked with the good folks at Hackster.io. Your account should now be unblocked. The problem was a spam filter thought consecutive, similar DMs to other users was spam.
Thanks @fair rivet . I don't understand that because I haven't DM anyone recently. That's a very strict filter then.
It's creating other issues for me publishing projects as well.
It's all ok now. Thanks 🙂
For those interested: It blocked the account because the article didn't have any parts. It was something the team had not seen before.
Hello Folks, I am collecting feedback on one of our hardware project for an open power bank. We have prepared a video explaining the next generation feature list to know if it is something that would make sense for people looking to purchase their next powerbank. Is it okay share the video here and the link to the form get opinions from people. I can also share the video privately to someone first who can approve the content.
I'm interested, but (for various reasons) videos are difficult for me: do you have a slick sheet?
I do not have one immediately available but I can always work one out and get back to you, just wait..
also the video has only background music and text in english. I did not give any voice over specially to avoid confusion in case this your concern with video

@topaz timber Ehm .... I was answering to the user @river widget , it was his request for help. I wanted to help him as well. now we are two 🙂
Hello Friends,
Yes I am the one who initially posted the query in relation to posting the survey.
We are building the next generation Power Bank v2.0 to solve many of the problems we face in our daily life. I wish to know your opinon on the features we are planning to put together.
Please watch the 1 minute video explaining the features we think are important and let us know what do you think about them by filling up a simple survey form here: https://instantpost.in/power I would appreciate if you can share the link in your social network. It will help us reach wider audience and make informed decisions.
In case you free a detailed description of features you may consider watching our 4 minute video: https://youtu.be/9LOkCBYB_8w
If you have a feature of your own in mind that you always wanted but did not find in any power banks, then I am listening. Let's build the Power Bank v2.0 together.
In case you wish to know more about any specific feature, just drop a comment I will be happy to explain them in further details.

@river widget Quick feedback from quick watching .... it's a power bank with 2 modules, I like the idea of swapping. Today we are used to replace them completely (when not working anymore) since they are quite cheap. Your approach could save "some electronics". I like to idea to re-charge my laptop! That's a coll one .... but .... how do you manage different voltages? A traditional powerbank is 5V only. Last: all those features about storing files, sync, cloud, etc. Honestly I didn't understand them, if it's a power bank it should store energy, not file. Are you embedding some sort of flash memory (with some wifi service) inside the power bank?

@meager forge Thanks for taking out time, Yes based on the survey 70% people like this option to be able to swap cells. We are also trying to support multiple chems like NMC, LFP etc. in order to allow everyone to choose what works best for them. The modular approach is also aligned to another project of ours where anyone may detach their drained cell module swap it with charged cell module from our public kiosk without even having to charge.
For the laptops, we are dividing them into two categories, one that supports USB Power Delivery 3.0 or related Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0 to negotiate voltage on their own over USB Type C port. For the traditional laptops, 95% work with chargers with 19V, 19.5V and 20V which we will allow to switch using a single button to send instruction. The idea is not to have 100% coverage with first release. As we get to know about laptops that charge at another voltage level we will create a profile for it that can be remotely sent to the power bank and then they can be switched to just like the standard voltage levels mentioned above. For e.g. if someone reports a laptop that works at 18V then we will create a profile and if present on the power bank, the button click will switch between 18V, 19V, 19.5V, 20V on such laptops. We want to allow people to be able to create their own profiles so that they can add support for more devices.
The last feature comes from my wife, who has a never ending problem of low storage despite upgrading phone so often and expanding storage. The problem is amount of photos and videos she creates and same is the case with her friend circle. She hardly has time to backup content due to her busy schedule. So I thought of enabling this feature where person can select folders and file types on their devices that will be get synced to local storage on power bank while charging and deleted from the phone silently without any manual intervention. Now to avoid carrying power bank everywhere it's much better to enable wifi support which can be configured over ISP router to deliver these photos and videos over Internet. This is exactly what my wife wanted since she does not appreciate uploading her content to cloud. So I thought of including it in the survey to see if it makes sense to more people who might be in a similar situation. It turns out to be of interest to 60% of the respondents so far.
Yes for remote management we are planning to install ESP32 on the power bank but we are waiting for more responses on our survey before we finalise on the right components
However our first few prototypes will carry ESP32
For the storage we initially thought of internal storage but 70% of the respondents asked for 100Gb or more up to 2Tb so we are also considering to just offer a USB port to attach storage of their choice in place restricting to something of our own
Initially I had only created the video but after @wintry sphinx mentioned video may not always work so I have put together this text Survey as well https://instantpost.in/power
ok, great. thank you for the answer
Np, thanks for your time and interest in the project.

Crowd Supply Announcement on COVID-19 and Teardown 2020 from 3/17/2020
We will post large Crowd Supply announcements here in our Adafruit channel, but for further and more frequent announcements we post in our own Discord server. Invite link is: https://discord.gg/mAgtHAw
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve rescheduled this year’s Teardown to September 18-20, 2020. Fortunately, it will take place at the same great location as originally planned - PCC Cascade Campus.
While there’s a chance the pandemic will be under control by the originally scheduled dates (June 19-21, 2020), that chance seems increasingly slim and still wouldn’t have left enough time for attendees, presenters, sponsors, staff, and volunteers to properly prepare.
If you’ve already purchased a Teardown 2020 pass, you can either keep your pass for use in September, or request a full refund.
Crowd Supply COVID-19 Response Measures
In addition to rescheduling Teardown, Crowd Supply has taken steps to protect our staff, creators, customers, and wider community and minimize the impact of COVID-19 on our operations.
Starting March 2, 2020, staff were encouraged to work from home, a strict hand washing policy was instituted at our office, all business travel was canceled, and all in-person business meetings were either canceled or required special approval.
Starting March 13, 2020, all Crowd Supply employees were required to work remotely, with the exception of one person to coordinate deliveries to and shipments from the office, which are minimal.
Our shipping partner, Mouser Electronics, is also closely monitoring the situation and is currently fully operational as normal.
The full Crowd Supply update can be seen here:
https://www.crowdsupply.com/teardown/portland-2020/updates/rescheduled-due-to-covid-19

hoping this channel is the right place to ask this questions: how feasible is it to crowd supply a FCC pre-certified module ? As in I want to design the module and crowd fund so I can get it tested and certified for production.
How much experience do you have with FCC certification?
at my last job (company that makes material testing machines based in MA) I designed a HMI that controlled 8 SPI devices over serializer deserializer, I went to the testing site and worked with coworkers and test engineers to gather data
then I elected to add a commond mod choke to the differential signals from the serdes and thats it
so I guess I'm a totally greenhorne in the area but I have a network of colleagues to perform design review
@visual siren Hello! This is a great place for this question. We are always happy to try to clarify what we do and help creators do what they are trying to do.
If I am understanding you correctly: it is possible to design a piece of hardware and crowdfund on Crowd Supply to cover manufacturing and costs, which can include FCC and CE certification. It is not possible, however, to design a product and run a campaign to only cover the costs of FCC or CE certification. In general, all campaigns must deliver an actual item to backers, and figure out needed certifications during the project process. We lightly guide creators through this, but don't do the certification work for creators.
@wintry sphinx Sidenote: your timely and on-point responses are always sincerely appreciated by me.
I would be marketing the module with rewards for backers of course but I guess I was mostly curious about the cost of FCC/CE certification being a part of manufacturing and you just answered my question regarding that. This is good news and seems like my idea could be viable. Right now Im in the planning/design stage I just wanted to start gathering information about funding and manufacturing to see if its possible.
I was mostly curious because I see FCC/CE a large cost that could be considered separate from manufacturing and therefore harder to crowd fund.
Thanks for getting back to me 🙂
Happy to help @visual siren! Feel free to join us over in the Crowd Supply Discord server if you have further questions or want to talk to Creators who have been through the process. Happy to hear your idea is viable, we look forward to potentially getting a project submission 😉 https://discord.gg/p6rTABc

Glasgow Interface Explorer Update: Chip Shortage
"As you have no doubt heard, we are in the middle of a global integrated-circuit shortage. This affects the whole industry, not just us. The reasons for this shortage are fairly complicated, and they vary depending on the part brand. I’ve tried to put together a summary of the approximate chain of events, based on the information I could find. Fundamentally, this is affecting everyone."
https://www.crowdsupply.com/1bitsquared/glasgow/updates/chip-shortage
Crowd Supply
Our usual process of ordering off-the-shelf parts for Early Bird
rewards has not been going smoothly due to global chip shortages. Our vendors
are extending their component-delivery estimates through the end of this year,
and the whole timeline of the project has been shifted as a result. We are
working hard to find alternative sourcing so that ...
yes, it is very nice write-up of current problems...
We are launching a new project on CS for a sensor that can monitor entrances to count people. A serial version and a fully self contained one. This stuff normally costs in the 1k USD our hardware has a BOM 10x+ cheaper. Help us spread the word (and/or get on board 🙂 )

Can I ask why Crowd Supply and not KickStarter ?
This channel was created a while ago as a partnership between Crowd Supply and Adafruit,
Are you asking why someone would choose Crowd Supply over Kickstarter? Well, that's personal preference of course, but a huge difference is that we specialize in hardware and are hands-on through the entire campaign process. We also handle all fulfillment, and provide ongoing distribution for successful campaigns, including though partners like Adafruit. I'd check out our About page for more: https://www.crowdsupply.com/about
Happy to go from there if this didn't hit your question.
@topaz timber How is the fabrication, selling and logistics usually handled?
Hey! We have a really lovely little guide that we have worked hard on to cover that sort of thing. If it's not clear after reviewing that please let me know.
