Our cat knew how to do that and we would have lock the door at night coz that guy would always leave the door open after getting in and it would be quite annoying to wake up in the night having to close it again.

It's pretty amazing, really, that I'm finally able to hold her and pet her. I'll endure her rare attacks and PTSD outbreaks.
It took 14 months of patience on my part to woo her into allow me to even touch her. But, once that process started and I was able to finally touch her face, the rest happened quickly.
Now I can pick her up, sometimes she growls at me and resists, but she'll settle down in my arms and purr away and headbutt my chin/nose at times.

it does alert on low battery. I even added a "lost mode" but I cannot trigger it remotely, because TinyLoRa for circuitpy doesn't support downstream transmissions (yet)
it has a piezo and everything so I can find it when the collar falls off, just a shame I can't trigger it right now 🙂

The funny thing is, he'll slink and hide when we try to grab him, I literally have to pin him with a towel and "shove" him into the carrier, and he'll cry and yowl [which the video was showing off] the whole time. He fights us when we try to clip his claws. But when he gets to the vet, they easily get him out of the carrier, he's a sweet baby with the vet, cuddly and purrs, lets them clip his claws, goes back in the carrier without a fight... then he yowls on the way home and hides for a while after we get him home!

Sammy hated the carrier, but it turned out he didn't really mind the vet, so we'd just bring him on a leash. He was fine with that, and wanted to go explore the exam rooms. All the techs knew him.

I think Tony would just flop over XD my first cat Leo had a harness, and when he was in it, he'd just flop over like ded. No movement. No signs of life. Take him outside, he'd just lay there. Take it off and he'd come back!

The first time we put the harness on Sammy, he did the "too heavy, I'll never move again" until he realized having the harness on meant he could go outside. Sammy was pretty bright and made the connection in a few seconds, and didn't mind the harness after that. Most of our other cats stick with the "there's something ON me, I have to get out from under it!" mindset.
