Actually I guess it could just be two MCUs without seesaw that send message back and forth...
Anyway, yeah, seesaw seems like an amazing way to quickly develop easy to use peripherals like the NeoKey :D
And the ATtiny is available, vs. the SAMD09 π
Isn't the point of seesaw to turn a microcontroller into an I2C peripheral?
I2c is'nt a great bidirectional bus, it's usually host and peripherial.
No idea, tbh. It's possible to use it as a controller or a peripheral. But I don't know its "point".
The point of this board was so Limor could do quick dev with it, but it was handy enough she put them in the shop π
But I don't know seesaw's real point.
Are I2C controllers maybe harder to work with? Or more expensive? Or a bit of both?
Lemme check Digikey...
Don't most MCU's serve as I2C controllers already?
I mean peripheral controllers
@haughty quiver , what was this (at 7;41) in your product pic?
The ATtiny817 breakout should be placed on 'e' and 'g' on the breadboard (adjacent to the gutter on one side, one blank row on the other).
Nobody really knows, we call it Lars.
Lars is danger
Headers attached.
I can run one NeoPixel string on any GPIO pin? (ATtiny817)

I'm still recovering from St Pattys Day.π₯΄
Just Halloween all year round please and thank you.
I'm still recovering from 2020...
Great tips.
Hmm, the led glasses r a trip, & the mask is a great conbine idea. Anyone know where to find a Max Headroom Mask? integrate the LED glasses. π
Even Max would have been impressed. π
Great show as always, guys. π
@hard hollow @rocky reef Great show, thanks guys
thanks guys
thanks folks! cya tonight
great show! see y'all tonight
thanks so much for hanging out folks!
Thank you for taking time for us.
bye!
π€ Now where did I set that green beer down?
prepares for project absorption
nervously waiting for a form to participate π
You'll do great! Everyone gets nervous
Life is good when you find Adafruit delivery on the porch.
I need to make actual progress on mine >~> been like a month since I showed the start...
hey folks! get ready https://streamyard.com/euvr8jqhk5
Yissss
ty guys! β€οΈ bill murray
Hi there humans!
howdy jp!
Who you callin' human?! but hi!
Hey y'll
Yes... we are all humans here π€
Good evening everyone.
Now to get the CircuitPython 7 poster professionally framed.
hello
good evening folks
I need to get my posters for 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 framed XD thinking about making a custom motorized frame to switch between them
Invention studio, Tomorrow Lab, races against the clock to make a potentially genius idea into a potentially genius thing. In this first episode of the series, they invent a way for inline skaters to safely bomb hills and dodge rogue obstacles.
I think I can say from the premise that Potentially Genius is genius
@fallow fractal I think it's the streamyard link above
hi there π
Been having fun with esp32-c3-devkitc-02. Nice board
Howdy
I wish I could skate, I'd totally want to build those XD
i need to try esp33
Ghosts, appropriate for spoop season
thanks i totally would've missed that! lol
hopefully I'm right heh
No Twitch?
Mouser had stock. Didnβt check Digi-Key
I think it's show and tell tonight
cool stuff
yes could be great for beginners π
Question: Could that brake be made more variable so you could have precise speed control?
can combine with GPS data for fixing maximum speed π
ice cream is coming!
can't go wrong with ice cream
Yeah! GPS is so cheap these days, no problem adding it in!
this bluetooth stuff is responsive! I wasn't sure what to expect.
Ohhh, this is cool
great project
Wow, the BLE code editor is looking NICE! great job @sage aspen
That is so cool @sage aspen
@sage aspen Big excite for this!
Thank you
Ohh, fastcam
@sage aspen do you know if there the ble stuff will be segmented so that there's a library or example we can use if we want to expose sensor data via a website? I.e. a wrapper around webusb/webserial that works well w/Adafruit stuff?
JP!
@robust horizon that looks so nice and smooth
JP in the house
You may want something more like https://learn.adafruit.com/bluefruit-dashboard-web-bluetooth-chrome
it's deluxe. otherwise JP wouldn't be working with it.
Picos are nice and cheap
do i spy...a googley eye?
@robust horizon So will that become a nice compact addon board or breakout board in time? Something you can pair with whatever display you like?
Lol, that's what I thought, but just a black screw on top of a round white thing
@teal river I don't yet know what form factor an adafruit camera would take. This add-on module just came from amazon
Excellent - I will check it out. We regularly want to take devices (CP BLE most likely) and make a quick prototype to provide access. For example, cap touch sensors for a user to send keystrokes. But then we need to adjust sensitivity, or do a "training" web page for them to practice or to auto-set parameters, etc. So this would help
i've made the same with pico RGB keyboard from pimoroni and have 16 macro key that can code in ducky script π
but these 4 keys are cute
great blink animation
Ahh. Well, you've certainly got great progress there!
glasses are great β€οΈ
Awwww, digikitty!
Likey
@teal river thank you!
When @rocky reef gets excited, he makes dogs bark π
Love the look of that mask!
@north harness recognized by Digi-Key! Props!
I haven't watched Squid Game yet... Eventually, maybe
me neither
Wow, fast Jayy is fast
great mask Jay
"I made a watch with it". wow.
Great work Michael
Squid Game doesnβt sound relaxing and peaceful. Pass for now.
very creative
Really cool watch, looks amazing
Michael, if you can share your models, I'd appreciate it -- working on my own watch and need help XD
I am kind of enjoying Foundation even though I read the books 30-40 years ago and remember nothing except The Mule.
Here's the code for the watch Im using rn. It's pretty rough, still trying to make it better... https://github.com/MichaelLacock/ML-Watch/blob/master/ML-Watch_OS_v0.3.3-v4.ino
@split gazelle Looking good :D I know the struggle of making boxes fit together... No matter how accurate your printer is, it still takes a few tries!
Really creative. Great work
@split gazelle always great projects from Liz. Never fails to inspire.
yeahh i knew i was cutting it close π
thanks!
Rough just means there's more fun to be had :D
Nothing as classy as natural wood grain
I think anyone designing 3d boxes has a pile of "did not quite fit"
Beautiful looking box @tulip canyon great job!
Here's my designs so far. the bottom cover isn't perfect but it works. https://www.tinkercad.com/things/lcgxjXpL5ka
@tulip canyon love the wood box!
not fitting molds is the only way to be
@tulip canyon Beautiful work!
yes until using Shapr3D for modeling π
beautiful enclosure
The watch syncs up with bluetooth btw, once it disconnects it will continues counting which is important
Awesome, thanks! That watch band connector is going to save me a LOT of work, I was going to try to make a TPU band because I couldn't figure out how to use regular watch bands with my own prints
when design keep in memory a margin of 0.4mm (the nozzle) for 3D printing tolerances
Glad it helps π
Ohh, nice. Do you have notifications and stuff yet? if you were going to add them anyway
0.2 on some printers
No, I don't plan on adding it. I don't use an iPhone so it would be kind of a pain to get working, also I dont really like notifications on my watch
Thank you!
@tulip canyon whenever the time comes, I think you can use code like this from the REPL to get into bootloader mode without needing to access the reset button:
import microcontroller
microcontroller.on_next_reset(microcontroller.RunMode.BOOTLOADER)
microcontroller.reset()
Thank you!
Ahhh... Yeah, iOS notifications aren't exactly easy to work with, and just wanting a watch to be a watch is valid! Mine is going to be more of a GPS watch
Good to know. I was wondering if it would be frozen in time
i wear an apple watch and honestly love it
Me too
v6 smaller one
Apple Watch is definitely one of the best smart watches if you have an iPhone
@tulip canyon if I recall correctly you can also hold the knob while plugging the device in to get the uf2 loader
Pong in a tube!
Ya to sync up the time, i have to connect it to my ipad which is a downside. But it have it continue counting without the need for a real-time-clock, which is good
Iβve been a willing participant in the Apple walled garden since 1983
Love RGB neopixel-like LEDs
cool
I was briefly on the inside of apple ecosystem and even spoke on a panel at wwdc a long long time ago
Clever idea, really neat game Graham & Matt!
I once knew 6502 machine language by heart. No assembler necessary.
that pong is so cool
Ohhh, no RTC, that explains how you kept it relatively small. I guess it's fairly accurate over the course of a day?
That's an awesome switch tester π
Slap-o-war
Yes, I love this glowy game noodle!
great projects everyone!
Bai!
Very good. Nice job Noe and Pedro
Great projects everyone. Thanks for sharing.
Life was simpler with significantly fewer instructions
great projects all
Great timing guys
Great show!
Great stuff all. Thanks for having me!
excellent projects everyone! π
Woot woot!
for sure. I did more 8080 by the early 80s
YES lol
hmm a 8080 as in intel 8080?
If you're interested in Light Pong check out our kickstarter π https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/aaqib/light-pong-game/
In the code, I have a thing known as "New-Tick" which is to counteract any computing delay so its closer to be accurate to a second. its only a minute or two off after a few hours when off-line ble.
that looks like a lotta funπ
I was nervous to hop on live but that was cool, very very cool to see what other people are doing π
I propose the nickname of glowy game noodle. I love this! Do y'all have a website with positions you're hiring for?
Glad you showed up with that project

I was in the Apple ][ lab, not TRS 80. Plus the 128k Macintosh at the corner shop where I changed buses. I should have asked for a commission considering I was their demo team. For free.
sound like the adams family
wizards and warriors
That's not too bad! Just need to make sure you don't need to be somewhere at an exact minute XD
yes Adams Family(ish)
I love the spoopy bleep bloops
We will be posting them on the website soon, but for now they're at the bottom of our Kickstarter page!
excellent adaptation of bleepities
Bleep bloops are the best
Cool, thanks!
I always want to spell that word as "brouches"
sounds like a food item
Iβm vaccinated
I could make it super exact, but it's really trial and error figuring out the exact hardware/chip delay. right now a second is considered 900 milliseconds. I have it so I could adjust it to be more exact, but again it's really trial and error.
NICE! Vaxxers unite
ditto
Yay vaxx'd!
DIY watch
dignity? Equity? This is strange talk from a business. JK. Love it!
def besides dogs and maybe guitars
On the small business side, remember that the time off you give for covid (vaccination, sick time, caregiver time) is all eligible for tax refunds.
hmm do I need more free proto boards
always
I now have to start a spreadsheet for all the sensor boards I have
I have no idea how many embedded boards I have. Nearing 100 to be sure.
get them from Amazon or other Circuit Playground Express sellers. I got one last week. Would have preferred Adafruit of course
sooo your saying I need more than one tab on my sheet to include all the boards I have... not bad idea
@open girder clipped a bit
Limor
Limor
hmm
just once
think it's fixed now
yup
@north harness AND @split gazelle in one show
Yes, I don't hear it
triple nickles
thx
I heard it once
could have been a fizz in my brain
just a slight clip for a moment
I would have loved to see Limor's 555 circuit on that show - perhaps it's a good short video for this week?
Excited to get these buttons in my hands!
I can't fir that in a breadboard.
Haha, that's an awesome stool
there she clipped again when she giggled
Get a bigger breadboard?
You just need the matching breadboard!
Robot puppets? :O
clipped a smidgen again
I need to go watch puppet shows!
They're awesome!
peer pressure
puppets frighten me. Stephen King will show you why someday
Limor clipped on "know"
@rapid hornet dresses up for the show π―
How many first IC circuits were a Mims 555 design?
I am not concerned when it comes
Wow, delays might be until after Christmas? jeeze
now they are both clipping
still sad travel was canceled for Embedded Linux Conference. I was looking forward to coffee with @rapid hornet
I have one sub and one gift
They can cancel their subscriptions.... OR they can be decent humans and deal with it.
Hope for sooner, but acceptable to be later... c'est la vie
year(ish) good enough π
tryin another mixer setting, we'll see if that fixed it
exactly. I've got a dozen critical software development challenges, I am not going to stress or stress a favorite vendor over unanticipated delays
Hot glue. Never enough
It's not like I don't have (at least) a half dozen unfinished projects sitting around that I could work on either
Hot glue. Never enough - Unless you're taking apart LAST years Halloween to make THIS years.:(
I typically use brightness 0.1 or less on my neopixel projects that run on battery
Yeah, not starved for projects if AdaBox needs more time!
half dozen ^100
right. Ne neither
I have piled up a nice amount of boards and stuff for my dec time off, I accumilated a month long vacation so lots of time to play around
Last December was my sabbatical. It was a glorious month of Adafruit streams.
I just switched jobs and now wish i'd taken more time off between them
yeah will be doing that but also I will be creating a bunch of new vids for my channel
might try out a live stream
Always. Every. Single. Time
The post office is the perfect organization to host public key infrastructure for individuals. Not sure if that's your article, but seriously, it would be so huge to have a semi-public entity that offered low-cost voluntary identity management for online presense.
We could actually solve phishing, spam, etc.
yeah Jibo kickstarter
then $75M more
The problem is the US needs to get rid of that law that restricts what the postal system is allowed to do to earn funds

Thanks guys!

sync is okay on YT, just a few dropped frames here and there. Very watchable.
choppy as it look like small timeloop what is weird for sure

That PPotW really pushed my buttons.
button me up
Potw board is filling up.
@teal river The buttons are neither early nor late. They arrive precisely when they mean to.
Always check the inner seam of your shirt & coat for a spare button.
Just like wizards XD
Extension arms.
Bigger board :O
not half price?
Wait, what?
Only during the show
Heh heh heh
Wrong person LOL
LOL
oh different show
During the Pick of the Week show, yeah
i get it. I can be taught
Ohhh, rainbow glowy thing
I had my credit card ready. May as well use it anyway
hehe
I love colored lights. I am addicted to them
RBG leds are illuminating my office
as I showed last night
I'll order JP's pick on Tuesday with the cheapest shipping, then during Ask an Engineer I might get a big order with free shipping with the 10% off code :D
me too
RIP macs
Oh oh, this one is INCREDIBLY useful!
This is where the money goes.
Nvm it fixed itself.
I used this trick on my little macropad I use for work -- not allowed to connect storage devices to my work machine, so this just looks like a keyboard!
yessss
RunLars
but my mind is like a mru cache
I have mine so I need to short pins to get it to boot without boot.py
Always forget what pins it is, lol
Yes, the timer got extended by a week today, unfortunately
Here's the Learn Guide JP was referring to https://learn.adafruit.com/customizing-usb-devices-in-circuitpython
yeah i need a jumper too but can always kludge it
Second or third time, but it's 100% worth the wait. Just gonna see when it gets here and be happy
deploy is my favorite word related to geeky endeavors
Just make sure you set the conditional properly, otherwise you risk locking yourself out of your drive AND REPL
here's the gist JP mentioned: https://gist.github.com/todbot/a13549a9745beb8e3eadbd426b0c7f45

Hiding the CP drive for anything destined to be used as an appliance peripheral is a good idea
very good idea consistent with principle of least permission
Ohhh, I thought that was a new type of QT Py!
i was just asking about diffusers the other day on ask an engineer

Bedazzle your board with these No-Foil Flat Back SS16 Rainbow Crystals. They're a lot like the crystals you see decorating clothes, bags and phones. But unlike most crystals you can buy ...
80? Lol.. 90 here in Orlando!!!
i'm curious do y'aa use Mu or PyCharm or what for CircuitPython? All of you, not just JP

Thanks. That's my preference too
Looks like someone popped the top offa this: https://www.adafruit.com/product/1451

All good here.
clever!
Nice tip about using rubber feet as a diffuser! Thanks for sharing.
here's what I got https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32584522999.html

Getting very choppy
I have been looking for creative diffusion techniques for artsy/science-y craft projects
I think "MO is "MOSI"
i'm really excited about the rubber feetsy technique
Yup confirmed
Hot glue light pipes?
reminded me how cute I find the Python Rules ruler I just got this week
Noice.
Mmmm, nice mechanical calipers...
Earthquake? overhead cam is shaking a bit.
That's a tool you can keep forever!
how late am I to the party?
No earthquakes just Lars.
29 minutes
funny you say "earthquake". I called a CircuitPython program I wrote for Circuit Playground Express called "Earthquake Detector"
can I measure that with analog calipers?
No parsec for you.
pretty simple app but one clever little trick
There are 4 lights
π
w LED eyes
all squinting all the time
i love the window led halloween cat
Ahh drat, that's what I forgot to add to my order
me too. placing a bigger order tomorrow
Actually, maybe I'll use some of my 100 NeoPixels and etch some boards by hand to make bigger eyes...
Mmm, slick
Nice
For this project, is there a benefit of having the diffuser with slits? Or did you just design it that way so you could use it while wearing too?
I wonder how well a piece of acrylic with baking parchment on it would do for diffusing
pretty ok
but you'll see some texture
could just use the paper
I think I might do a totally custom version of this project since I have dozens and dozens of loose NeoPixels, lol
pokey tool is the only way to refer to it
Fair
I'm hoarding neopixels for the apocalypse
it is murphy's law amendment that whatever type of usb you need is different than what you have
That board can also be set to use LiPo, although I don't think it'll work with alkaline after that without changing it back
i just love that kitty
Very cute kitty
Limor suggested not to use lipo if wearing
@teal river You could also look at photo/video lighting diffusion material from a camera store:
https://www.adorama.com/ro3026.html?adlclid=bc1032100482150e157753789148444e&msclkid=bc1032100482150e157753789148444e
The blink is too fast for a kitty. πΌ
Yeah, alkaline preferred to avoid face explosions
Ohhh, that's cheap
now that we have CircuitPython I can't be bothered to do Arduino sketches or C/C++ projects
I'd rather port code to CP than bother
Same XD
If you're shopping for diffusion, look at the more opaque stuff for leds (tough white maybe)
I love C++ but it's a pain
Oh wow, it was WAY better with the diffuser
on Jibo I wrote C/C++ code for firmware of course but we also had JavaScript middleware level to simplify "skill" development (skill is to Jibo what an app is to smart phone)
Makes it look like there are a lot more pixels in the ring portions with the diffuser
neopixels need diffusion cuz they are so bright
What a name!
I use cardstock as a diffuser.
even at lowest possible brightness (which seems to be 0.007 I think)
Cardstock?
Yeah, heavier paper basically.
Got it
Designed for making greeting cards, etc, hence cardstock.
... I dunno how I didn't put two and two together on that many years ago XD
I guess the name was pretty self-explanatory! re: card stock
@teal river Here's an example of a White (photo lighting) diffusion material about 2in in front of a tube of 512 neopixels https://www.instagram.com/p/CF_cqAkBLMP/
BTW @clear matrix: I have been reading a bunch of your Learn guides and using libs you wrote. Thank you for all the great work you do!
kattni is certainly a prolific guide writer!
I really appreciate the feedback! Guides are a weird medium in terms of knowing whether they're actually helping folks. Because there's really no feedback mechanism for it. So I usually only hear back when things are broken. π
I was thinking exactly those two points: that it is a challenging medium and that there is no feedback mechanism. I considered the intended audience as I was assessing them. Why did I assess them? I'm a CTO. It's what we do. We assess technical content!!
context is everything
There wolf. There castle.
Where wolf?
The only silkscreen I'm not super excited about is the bug one
There wolf.
why wolf?
Thank you @haughty quiver . Yup stream was good enough

Isn't there a Lars one?
It was a hoot.
Thanks, again JP! π

Who's on stage? Yes, the Who.
Check your TV Guide
Thanks, JP!
Thanks @haughty quiver !
Oh, can #live-broadcast-announce be put over #live-broadcast-chat in the list? XD
Now what will we throw in the well?
Why?
I mean, yes, obviously, but why.
alphabetization :)
Hah fair enough.
@haughty quiver my comment about "high production" values was meant as a compliment. You can tell you are a musician, actor, and educator by your approach to your work. It's very impressive and compelling. The streaming challenges are just joys of the interwebs
This!
I didn't even put together that the rest of the list was alphabetical. That was accidental for this section.
thanks much @ionic garnet :)
I'll allow it. π
Kattni, my hero! Thank you :3
whoa quick fix @clear matrix

i sometimes wonder how a company ships a board with 0, none, nada, docs. must be me
I here a wild scott
hear at least
Hi Scott. Happy Friday!
Howdy all, hope everyone is doing well
Hola from 'rado ! :-D
sounds good fro herre
I can imagine how weird it is, I feel I live in my headphones
Hello from the beginning for once
just bought an album from bandcamp, jason isbell. He said all proceeds go to good causes.
I fixed a problem with one character. It was a βTβ. Lol
Hello all from Cornwall
π
@timid plover I changed the script for the Deep Dive repo so it just pulls your show notes from the YT episode and then converts it to Markdown, Easey peasey once I just used a regex and not beautifulsoup to get the notes.
anytime you can eliminate a step is a good thing, can you handle it if the youtube notes are updated later?
I was thinking maybe it could run on a schedule ... but I've not looked into that yet.
Can you commit a file from a GH action? /shrug_of_not_knowing
you can, you gotta setup some secret key for it, but other than that yeah
if you trigger your action on push, and then push from it you might create an infinite loop of actions though π
(Circuitpython releases push a commit to circuitpython.org via the github python API for example, it's on another repo, but it's just calling the API from the CI instance so...)
I tend to prefer PR from a different account/repo and require a human for the final check
Scott that's awesome !
yeah, that's a good option
so that pointer is greater than 4 Gb ?
The pointer is outside the expected address space I think?
But, GitOps is the future, so I can be convinced to trust Skynet the machines
whats at 0x13cb40 ?
are you diving into how to decode the call stack ( after the crash? )
make sense
- that makes sense π
what layout do other raspberry pi kernels use for a call frame ?
interrupt call frames are different from function call frames, right?
are different types of exceptions using different call frames too?
ok - what's your alternate channel that you are reading from π
I think the people in my day job life wait till 2-4 on Fridays to call me... without fail.
what about dumping memory, and drawing boxes on what the frame looks like π ( reverse engineering )
so your exception hander is trying to save that 'unsaved' state ?
I'm doing some 101 lookups ...
"The typical call stack is used for the return address, locals, and parameters (known as a call frame). "
In computer science, a call stack is a stack data structure that stores information about the active subroutines of a computer program. This kind of stack is also known as an execution stack, program stack, control stack, run-time stack, or machine stack, and is often shortened to just "the stack". Although maintenance of the call stack is impo...
nice picture n that page for those not used to being so deep
is this like an editor religious discussion ( does the stack grow up or down π )
so eventually your bare metal code wants to decode the exception, ( before it is trashed ), right?
so you want to fake it so gdb can trace back - that's a different problem
but this doesn't describe exceptions π¦
you already showed a usage of "info frame" - mentioned here https://www.thegeekstuff.com/2014/01/gdb-backtrace/
GDB is an essential tool for programmers to debug their code. Breakpoints are the way to tell GDB to stop or pause the program execution at certain line, or function, or address. Once the program is stopped you can examine and change the variable values, continue the program execution from that breakpoint, etc. Similar
backtracing in gdb documentation mentions threads - maybe it would help to think of the exception as being in a different thread?
you don't suspect open OCD and gdb yet
maybe we need to walk throught that exception assembly macro
does the CPU push a FP or any extra registers during the exception
its funny that my google turns up '
Deep Dive w/Scott: Raspberry Pi TinyUSB'
objdump or gdb dissassembly should show if a function is using the frame pointer ?
well - trivial would be real nice right now π
right - C++ exceptions are not the exception we are looking for
if it makes you feel better, you are not the first person to encounter this - I'm sure some other kernel or bare metal project has done this before
debugging is really relaxing to see from my perspective. Knowing how someone moves forward when things aren't working is always so informative
Even "hey usb is blocked lets move on to this ... " is a good lesson for people new to bigger projects
So a co-host for next week ?
0536 in Vietnam
what does the hardware standard say the CPU does when it encounters an exception?
does it come down to the exception entry code needing to update frame pointer (x29) to be stored on the stack to a GDB "correct" value, rather than storing the previous frame pointer value when exception occurs?
maybe there is another word for "exception" so we don't mix it up with C++ or other language "exceptions"
you have our attention!
I noticed that when you initially back-traced FP was the same value in both versions of the stack
I'm doing my best follow along but every time assembler appears on screen my brain panics
stp = store, I learned something new today
are the assembler commands (is that the right term?) abbreviated to save space ?
STP Wt1, Wt2, [Xn|SP], #imm ; 32-bit general registers, Post-index
STP Xt1, Xt2, [Xn|SP], #imm ; 64-bit general registers, Post-index
STP Wt1, Wt2, [Xn|SP, #imm]! ; 32-bit general registers, Pre-index
STP Xt1, Xt2, [Xn|SP, #imm]! ; 64-bit general registers, Pre-index
STP Wt1, Wt2, [Xn|SP{, #imm}] ; 32-bit general registers, Signed offset
STP Xt1, Xt2, [Xn|SP{, #imm}] ; 64-bit general registers, Signed offset
so it really matters where the number is
we like our assembler to be neatly fitted into columns
Ha, I was getting the same thing
https://github.com/oowekyala/arm-cheatsheet/blob/master/arm-cheatsheet.pdf
I didn't plan on learning this today either π
okay makes sense
If anyone has been looking Digikey has a small number of the LED glasses and nRF driver boards available
I imagine the formatting makes it easier to read, assuming you know how to do so in the first place
Learned something new
I ordered the glasses and then I guess the driver board showed up in stock the next day after, so another order. Right now my brain is on the level to handling LEDs only
holy cow where did the time go
There are articles on "ARM Stack unwinding" but I don't know which would be useful.
i used this stream to pay all my bills. and update expiring credit cards. so something got done π
I tried to fix my terrible cable management
it's still bad but not as bad as it was
And i did lose the thread of what was the original problem π
i also started looking at a board i just got in. stm32h725 based. with no docs. so kind of useless
It makes your success all that much more funner !
Itβs realistic to see you struggling. Not every day is a slam dunk.
I spend most of my time not succeeding, the success bit is the rare part. Learning how others tackle problems is great because everyone draws on different resources, and you get to see what those resources are
fish is great. i was just installing it on a ubuntu vm
A smart and user-friendly command line shell
you weren't planning on using the dwarf debug information to help with stack unwinding π
Gdb should have access
I forgot - were you compiling 64 or 32 bit?
Other than my missing T typo earlier today, my biggest success was from reading the docs https://mesonbuild.com/howtox.html#get-a-default-notfound-dependency
One character and one line. Mic drop
looks like you are looking at the assembly pseudo instructions that support the debugger
how easy is it to going to be to convert my .bashrc to .fishrc?
same here omf and bobthefish theme
Finally got a mag tag. Anybody know how long the battery lasts if the leds are on? Probably better to default to them offβ¦
and there is a function bass that will allow you to run bash scripts under fish. think i used that once
utility i should have said
We need a wireless charger interface for the MagTag and then your refrigerator (or whatever you stick it to that's plugged in) needs to supply it power ...
yes
but sometimes that doesnt work . or at least i needed bass once.
there is always a linux utility somewhere to fix things
Do it, try it. What's the worst thing that could happen ?
the author has the reasons for bass in the repo.
it's time for me to head out, thanks for the great show Scott!
Slept through most of it, sorry.
Thanks @rapid hornet for another one β¦ have a great weekend!
time to dump memory ?
thanks scott.
This was a good stream, thank you! It's a neat and finicky problem, it was nice to see you work on it
@simple fractal winter is coming !
i used to dump huge swaths of mainframe memory. looking for stuff π
Thanks Scott !
yep. very late fall feeling this week
cheers all

Hello. Today I'm driving an ESP32 and the ATtiny817 Seesaw Breakout.
Yeah, it's the new Seesaw board.
I'm using it with a 8 led NeoPixel stick.
I'm very late but happy to be here
You should consider reading audiobooks, you have a very steady voice
You mean CircuitPac or PacCircuit or ???
PackMan, it's all about working in an Amazon warehouse loading circular packages
I'm on board, seems different enough. When's the first investor meeting?
I've got $5 on it!
true
So if the main character is a PieChart... what are the enemy and what is he running after?
Quarterly Reports
are the enemy
It's chasing "synergy" but can never catch it because that word means nothing
I subscribe to a tech history magazine, and they actually had an article about Pac-Man in it. Turns out it was designed to attract women to arcade games.
Oh and how Philips made a non clone and won in court (AFAIK).
I think it was on VideoPack.
Atari
Also, it was to be called Puckman, bit they realized the letter F was a danger...
