You'd be surprised how many enterprise systems still use a serial cable interface for service connections. And you only introduce more potential chances for errors with USB-A to USB-C adapters.
am i the only one who sees cool parts and tries to come up with a project to use them on š

Itās hard to find afforable decent looking knobs in small quantities. Bought a few really nice similar ones on DigiKey awhile back but they were like $8 each. Oof!
Adafruit PCF8574 I2C GPIO Expander Breakout - STEMMA QT / Qwiic https://www.adafruit.com/product/5545
You could say those knobs have great potential.
Question for the show⦠@open girder if you make the breakout for the timer IC shown this evening, thoughts on a Adafruit library for simple code scripting ?
Also how about a 2nd breakout that goes to a MOSFET and you can connect and toggles higher power devices ? That is if Iām not mistaken the other way is for an interrupt?
with those knobs make sure they crank over to 11
8 port I2C expander is great for sensor projects to adafruitio or wippersnapper.
Wouldn't the pull-up make it glow faintly?
no, since it's going from high -> high when it's off
I meant if you connected from i/o to zero
potentially. Depends on the LED and how high of a resistance the pull-up resistor is
But most likely not
I saw you do a live pi pico metro. Do you have that in a github repo
MagTag has been running on a 2500mah battery for exactly 32 days now... and still going. It's running the MagTag openweather code.
yeah my magtag with weather runs 30-40 days
"I got 99 parts but that one is not found"
Enjoy your evening! Thanks for another set of awesome shows tonight @open girder!
Thanks.
Thanks @open girder and good night. š

Very chill Bartlebeats closing the show. Thanks!

Wow, that ABLIC video with a song is.. a lot.
They've got an English version of it, though sadly without the video, and a jazz version of the song:

They all play songs by The Chipmunks when played at 78 RPM.
Fossil data stored on fossil media.
Mmm. Kinda minty.
I'm watching JPW on my Chrome YouTube app, as suggested by @haughty quiver on last week's show. š

This is what it sounds like when plants scream.
Iāve been told that its common name is snake plant.

Dracaena trifasciata is a species of flowering plant in the family Asparagaceae, native to tropical West Africa from Nigeria east to the Congo. It is most commonly known as the snake plant, Saint George's sword, mother-in-law's tongue, and viper's bowstring hemp, among other names. --Wikipedia

Thanks @haughty quiver !
Cool stream. Catch you next week.
Thanks!
BTW, that delay pedal was a harmonica pedal when it lived in the studio. Glad to see itās still being used for a nontraditional instrument.
that's awesome
I missed JP today. Never heard of record world. I used to shop at 611 records in Philly in the late 90's. 611 was run by Nigel Richards and Dr. Feelgood, closed in 2007.
Also known as Sansevieria. They grow natively here in Florida and are considered somewhat invasive. They have tuber roots that are deep orange like carrots and grow like long carrot tubes from plant to plant. To remove them you must get the entire tube. They break like carrots too but are toxic if consumed. If you miss getting even a tiny bit of it, it'll grow roots and come back. They are very hard to kill which makes them great indoor plants contained in a planter. I moved into a place that had hundreds of them and it took years to get rid of them all in favor of frangipani/plumeria.
