Thanks @smoky island and @split gazelle
Thanks everyone for sharing! Y'all are awesome!
Thanks everyone!
Thanks for sharing all! Great stuff
In the world!
Super projects tonight! Thanks!
awesome stuff!
Thank you guys for having me! - Jenny from Edge Impulse
This is the white LED plastic. The sheets are 25" x 50" though: https://www.tapplastics.com/product/plastics/plastic_sheets_rolls/led_ligh_panel/598
They have thicker semi-translucent black acrylic that works great with the LED matricies. This seems to work great for neopixel diffusion
I was late due to dinner. Pork roast with potatoes, carrots, and onions.
thanks @placid warren !
Thank you internet & technology for VoDs -- now I don't always have to rush to the computer at 7:30pm sharp to catch the latest episode of Friends Show & Tell!
I started a couple minutes late because of Kipo and did 2x to catch up, lol
yummm
I have... Pizza rolls!
Someone should do a business case study on Adafruit. It seems they are really well loved by folk like us here now. I often buy stuff from them that I know I can get cheaper. Clearly there are many factors that lead to their success including their origin story, woman owned and a gifted engineer, the personalities of their people, the volume of content both on YouTube and in docs for their products, CircuitPython, Made in the USA, preaching of tolerance and kindness... I'm sure they had many struggles and people could learn a lot from how they overcame them.
definitely going to be trying this out
So far just a nectarine for dinner so far. Had to work last few hours
I read that as 25'x50' -- as in feet.
That's a lot of plastic. And that many LEDs on at once might give a suntan....
The 0.02" polycarbonate was nice if you want to show more of a design but still get some diffusion. I figured if I was going to pay shipping may as well get a lot to try!
Pizza rolls count as a nutritious meal, right?
I'm no nutritionist, but (most) everything in balance isn't going to cause too much trouble.
good to know and since it's so thin i'm wondering if a cricut could handle cutting it 🤔
And it's important to have a meal every now and then that you enjoy.
I've been VERY careful to make sure the pizza rolls are evenly balanced and heated on the plate!
I loooooove pizza rolls
"nutritious" is relative during the pandemic.
Oooo good idea. Hmmm I vaguely recall someone I know getting a cricut if I remember I should get them to try.

I have a brand new Cricut that hasn't been tested properly yet....hmmm.
questions for ask an engineer would go here right
This music has serious VVVVV jives 🙂
Cricut?
working now
It's a crafting device.
Not to be confused with adafruit's robotics platform or a discount cellular service 😛

Those perma-protos are unsung heroes. They far exceed the limitations of other proto boards, and since they're a freebie -- I have a ton of them around 😛
The opening to AAE reminds me of those musically-thrilling DJ-centric product announcement and conference opening sessions. (Been working from home too long, I guess.)
Glad that they're not wearing mock turtlenecks!
ONE MORE THING 🙂
@inner spade It reminded me of an atari-styled video game called VVVVVV. An older indie game, but a favorite -- and often goes on sale.
DigiKey has one of my favorite search filters... I hate how a lot of sites have this long box along the edge of the page that often goes way past the results, but DigiKey makes it all easy accessible up top :D Plus really good categories
It is a puzzle. Was looking for something on DigiKey and lacked Lady Ada's skills!

I wish I knew the satisfaction of soldering both sides of header boards! Always mess up something first try
I find dividing the black headers with side cutters less effective than prying the whole black plastic off as one, starting at each and and wiggling down
I always shove a row of pins into a breadboard, plop my board on, tack a few pins, then pull it out and continue soldering the stable solid pins
I did that with a featherwing once.
Well, sometimes I just totally solder with it in the breadboard...
as this wednesday is Sonic 30th Anniversary
I have an 8W USB soldering iron I love
But killed one breadboard that way

I need an oscilloscope. Almost bought one on Prime Day
I have a bunch of the LM358 XD
Mmmm ceramic chips
Question: are ceramic chips still produced?

Question for the Q&A time: now that the EU is changing VAT tax rules, do you think this will severely hurt makers outside the EU? I don’t feel like Tindie has intentions on helping makers collect VAT for makers outside the EU. And the methods for collecting and paying VAT otherwise feel very cost intensive for small maker companies.
I know at least for now after June 27th I won’t take any more EU orders because I don’t have the means to navigate the new EU regulatory environment.
Reminds me of reading RFP responses
I hope Siemens will respond to those questions later
Same, the preservation of Tindie/hackaday response felt a little hollow
Big business scary
Questions about Adafruit: Could Adafruit ever end up being purchased by another company? Inversely, would Adafruit ever buy another company?
the staff at hackaday, etc. told me privately they appreciated me asking all those things, so that was good to hear
so do we, thank you.
@teal river will answer that at the end

It makes me happy that Adafruit is successful enough to pump funds into a FOSS project
Open source can work. But you have to work at it! as you said
I just did the review
fantastic work @rapid hornet !

Great job @open girder
They also need to be well supported so developers of FOSS don’t get burnt out
Too many open source projects fail because they just don’t have the necessary financial support
Ladyada said a thing I can't repeat :O
Say IT
LOL
Thanks for rocking it as usual Scott ☺️ always love to zen out to your deep dives!
I used Blinka with MicroPython at first. Now I typically use circuitpython from the start
Blinka worked for me when I used it
If you want to make sure you always get updates if Scott's schedule changes, there's a Deep Divers role :D
Oh Arduino...
Yes please 🙃 how I do dat? one of my favorite parts is that the kitties gotta be cool 😎 and cats have no schedule 😛
Wooo
You have the Deep Divers role.
Question: Have y'all ever built (or at least considered building) picky place machines?
Stoopid utube defaulted to lowest resolution on my heavenly LG monitor. Had to up that to HD to see the factory nice and clearly!
Wheeee! Thanks! 😊

Manufacturing Test. I wrote a lot of the code that tested the manufacturing of Jibo robot. First time in 40 years I had the need/chance to do that. Wicked fun. Lots of tests required for a home social robot! Too bad we went under...
thanks @inner spade for the sticker (it arrived)
You worked on Jibo?!
Super!
I was the 7th employee and there all 5 years. Started as Chief Architect Server, ended as Chief Privacy/Security Officer.
Nice!
I was the second architect and third engineer.
I dream of creating a social robot friend...
It was one heck of a project. ~$75 million and 5 years and we didn't quite make it.
of course, this was pretty amazing: https://time.com/magazine/us/5027041/november-27th-2017-vol-190-no-22-u-s/
so I am pretty proud
Jibo was pretty cool... RIP Jibo
Good to know it doesn't have white male bias
Thanks man. Jibo is now owned by NTT Disrupt, an incubator for NTT. So maybe he still has a chance. Most challenging job I've ever had and I've had a lot of super hard jobs over 38 years. It was my job at Jibo that got me into RPi. We were planning to switch to them for our simpler manufacturing tests. I wrote the tests in Python and some C code. Built the private network and installed the test machines in contract manufacturer in China. Really amazing experience. That's just one of about twenty things I did at the company.
It would be cool if Jibo came back from the grave!
I really need to get into a job that's a challenge instead of doing helpdesk DX
I also was early employee at Affectiva which was just acquired. But I know tons about facial recognition, white male bias, and machine learning. I have the coolest jobs. Check me out of LinkedIn.
@teal river yeah you should. Challenging oneself is a thrill. It's a rush. I'm only happy when I take a job that most software execs would say is impossible!!!

Question for the show: Chip shortages question.. I know SAMD chips are not available and Rp2040 chips had great timing with their release … how are Espressif chips for availability? Could Espressif gain a lot of “ marketshare” ?
I downloaded the build code for circuitpython earlier today because I have a use case that might require C object code linked in. Done this with node.js and even CPython once so shouldn't be too hard.

Ok, so LadyAda keep pretending that the Show and Tell that this done in a real factory... but how do we know it is not some green/reflective screen trick like @haughty quiver. What would be the best way to proof this is real? Fire with a Nerf at the background? Go and pick something from a shelf in the background. Waiting for your best suggestion here.
@wind spoke Not sure what you're asking.
You're not supposed to believe in any visual evidence that you yourself did not create. This applies equally to flying saucers as it does to greenscreens.
On the other hand you're not going to challenge Mom when she says that's her Aunt Tillie in that photograph.
If I say "on three!" and she throws the football out the window on the count of three .. and I'm watching that window with binoculars, and it comes out at the right time, I'm apt to believe I'm viewing a live feed, timing-wise.
But she could have Mister toss the football out the 'wrong' window in time with her faked one.
So that's not proof either.
what is this a game show
So we have no way to tell... and the non-believer will continue to not believe it is true, live, from NewYork in a factory.
I believe it because the foley is good.
They have an air circulation system (or the like) that comes on during the show.
It's a bit distracting and a signature sound.
Deep fake, special effect, any sound ingeneer can do that. 🙂
That's just not the kind of detail people are imaginative enough to add to a faked media presentation.
You also need a reason not to believe it.
Occam's Razor somewhat applies.
Somewhat.
You could Holmes it and say rule out the impossible. Whatever's left, however improbable, is likely to be the case.
(words to that effect)
Yeah but the world isn't your oyster, after all. It is not obliged to prove itself to you, especially if it isn't being faked to begin with. The onus is on you to bring suscpicion to bear on x, whatever x is, I think.
The only way to prove it is to send a drone into the factory while they're on stream. But then this only proves it for yourself, the rest of us don't believe you
Although it could also be a highly sophisticated holodeck that YOU are in, so it's really your holographic drone going to the holographic studio with holographic Ladyada and PT
Or a Matrix situation
They didn’t break the 4th wall so… there’s that
And we didn’t break the fourth wall… at least during the show…
Hey all -- It's early in the morning where I am, so maybe my humor detector isn't working, but I suggest dropping this line of discussion because, humor or not, it can be read as "Promoting or spreading disinformation, lies, or conspiracy theories against a person, group, organisation, project, or community".
For the record I took it as a joke and was joking myself
Do you have a Nerf gun in the factory? That is the only important question. 🙂
Nerf or nuffin'
Good afternoon all you wonderful folks! 🙂

Here's the whole thing right now
while playing a note.
Because maybe you have a sawtooth and that kinda sounds weird like that.
If you play with the little "piano" at the bottom, does the pitch change or all is the same weird sound?
I've switched it to every single mode and it sounds basically the same on every key
what os? (/me hopes linux)
10 Pro
Yeah, I haven't used that since it had a "95"...
lol
I'll ask my brother if he's used it and if there is any trick to it on w10
I still have clients that ask me: "But you do use computers, right? How does one use computers without windows? 🙂 :þ
Here's a demo of me messing with it
Oop, MKV... did not change defaults of OBS yet, lol
But yeah, just... basically the same thing no matter what I touch
Yeah, it is very weird.
Yeah, it might be a sound path thing. I would suggest what to check, but I don't even know if things like control panel still exist :).
Lol, yeah, control panel is still kickin'
My brother will install it and see if it works for him, and if there is any suggestion I'll write back.
Cool, thanks :D
OwO what's this
I was trying a / command, but it seems to be stuck thinking
All I see is "... Dyno is thinking..."
Same
I think Dyno is broken
It could be thinking.. :þ
"This interaction failed"
Sounds pretty broken to me
I think Lars may have been involved...
@teal river My brother installed helm on w10 and works without a problem. Do you have a weird soundcard or an app that might be using the sound card and not sharing it?
Nope, no apps
And so far as I've ever seen with issues like that, usually the software can't access the device at all
Good old reboot? I hear that is still a tool on windows? :þ
Actually, I did reboot, lemme try it
Hmmm.... now it's... different
But still garbage
Shake your head and call it grunge.
lol
Just gonna do the rack one... despite not having any idea what the heck I'm doing, lol
You can get a Nezha (a riscv "raspberry") as a dedicated midi console 🙂
I'd just build a real synth if I had the space and time and money XD
@teal river BTW, one more thing.
Currently I have none of these things
Try shutting down the distortion (upper right) and the poly lfo (lower row, 3rd from left)
There is a video by Look mom no computer, where is shown in detail a very simple drone that is terribly cheap and easy to build.
I'm also stuck at wanting to play with synths, and I think I'm going to try to do that one first. Let me see if I can find it.
Turned off distortion, I think I turned off poly lfo? basically the same
The / Commands don't work
It should be off if it's not green at the bottom of the square. It was worth the try.
Dyno thinks a lot LOL

Maybe with the i2c digital pots instead of those... hint, hint.
Yeah, lol
I have VCV Rack. I like cf and Grayscale plugins.
Feather RP2040 makes a good MIDI source.
I guess the trick would be to sync the MIDI stream and whatever else is going on.
I don't understand what the wires and modules do XD
And so far plugging things in at random has led to no sound, lol

Hi Scott
Down here its 30C, up there its varies from 20c to 14C at the peak
i was about to do a pull from CPY main and see how it builds.
Hi all from Cornwall
Hi there !
🐱
Welcome back -- had to deal with a few wasps in the room. To bee or not to bee, that is the question.
The Display_Shapes library does not have an arc function. Do you know a good way to draw arcs?
for some reason i always have issues when tinyusb changes. git tends to throw up all kinds of errors. i usually muddle through somehow but wonder what is the best workflow for that.
I got stuck in a meeting.
oh yeah toe beans are definitely a thing
Goodies in the mail!
How's that email inbox looking?
Not yet, Display_Shapes is still bitmap I think. For drawing arc's I do not know of a great way off the top of my head. Using two cricles and a rectangle layered up cleverly could do it possibly, but would be fairly elaborate. It would be nice to have something simpler.
yes. that seems to be my method 🙂
nice job!
something like cd tinyusb; git checkout .
@smoky island I tried triangles with the circles, but it didn't work well

Yep. I'll be streaming tomorrow at 10am central. Thank you.
Foamyguy has a posse.
@smoky island what state are you in?
MO
I feel most days I'm in the state of confusion.
cool, MN for me
ha ! the Display_Shapes circle is a RoundRect !
I don't even know the timezone here either.
i believe i'm GMT-7
I'm jealous of your Adafruit order 🙂
30°C ! oof that's way too much for me
Lady Ada mentioned an app for that ( to change the clock )
i watch a lot of Formula1 so can generally convert from various European time zones
I think the app is only for China
MagTag?
A 3D printer is a very worthwhile investment
Strap yourself in, we're launching in T-minus 10 seconds...Destination? A new Class M planet called MACROPAD! M here stands for Microcontroller because this 3x4 keyboard controller ...
I really want a Macropad
Whites are different depending on the manufacturer -- some whites are clicky, some are linear, some are tactile from my research. But generally browns = tactile, reds = linear, blue = clicky.
I'm not a keyboard nerd yet
I think Cherry Whites are lighter Reds....methinks. I might have that backwards.
My matrix of keyswitches that I got years ago when I was super into mechanical keyboards
Personally, I detest reds. I have a (bad?) habit of resting my fingers on the keyboard keys ever-so-lightly --- and I have a cherry red, and i accidentally have keypresses all the time.
Swapped back to the Apple wired keyboard due to the frustration.
In the end I just like blues.
I have a set of clicky blues + clicky oranges (heavier blues) to swap them out -- enroute in a few days.
And I actually prefer laptop style keyboards. I think many years of using laptops has ruined me
I like the N/\S/\ font.
@simple fractal Bruces are in the same boat -- I've been on IBM thinkpads from 2006-2013, and 2013-present day have been Apple chiclet keyboards.
I don't use mechanical keyboards at all, long travel and clickiness are absolutely not for me, is there the equivalent or swappable mechanical keys but chicklet style ?
Yes, my (older) Macbook with the original keyboard and my (newish) Thinkpad have great keyboards
@upper sandal Check out Keychron K3
Keyswitches i can test
there are low profile chiclets
i have a keychron k3. fairly low
Q: The magtag and funhouse libraries work very nice with adafruit.io by default. Is there a way to make it work with a local server instead of using the Internet?
That's for the hardware I'll be taking to teach the park rangers on Isla del Coco, and there isn't any internet there.
Ahd yeah, I really like that Rubin quote pcb.
And there's a low-profile logitech -- the G915 TKL and G815 -- but they're super pricey and lack customizability compared to the Keychron K3.
yes, but I would have to manage wifi and peripherals by myself if I plan to use the mqtt lib.
I never put much thought into keyboards until they break
What's the keyboard shortcut for replying in Discord??
Side view of the Keychron k3
OK, cool
@simple fractal nice 🙂 Mine should be here on Tuesday, with an extra set of gaetron oranges
i'm not sure what switches these are. they are clickt
they look blues
probably.
💜 those ifixit kits
There are low-profile Cherrys now
https://www.cherrymx.de/en/mx-low-profile/mx-low-profile-red.html
The CHERRY MX Low Profile RGB Red has a very shallow profile and is specially designed for flat desktop applications as well as notebooks.
it would be nice if @haughty quiver joined the stream !
👍
JP was making a really nice Keychron C1 customization with a sweet set of custom doubleshot keycaps
Hi there! Just jumped on here after finding the wireless leds thingy, was this part of the ongoing live broadcast or is it unrelated?
You haven't had the ObjectObject problem in a while. 👍
oh yeah it's a recent post in the blog, the wireless LEDs
https://blog.adafruit.com/2021/06/25/trying-out-these-wireless-leds-we-saw-realsexycyborg-had-pretty-cool/
I also have a Razer Ornata somewhere. It has what they call MechaMembrane keyswitches. I liked it because it did feel very laptop. But i also prefer 75% keyboards so back to the DropAlt that i now use on my desktop
those look nice
that was not live, they do little videos like that sometimes to show what they are playing with (or working on)
This tech has been around for a while, but it’s pretty hard to come by unless knowing some factories in china.
I was stuck trying to get mine to work as I had issues understanding how to build a resonant coil to power the leds effortlessly in any direction
Oh shoot, I will switch channel then, I’m sorry for troubling the live chat!
it's totally fine 🙂
if Ladyada is looking at it they might appear in the shop some day, provided they can source them and they feel there's a need, but who knows
I tend to wear gloves when playing with those thorny pins from keyboard switches...
yey, I just got a
order. My long waited Magtag.
Drill a hole, fill it with hot glue.
@brazen grove That's an awesome graphic, thank you for sharing it
I mostly use MBK with low-profile switches, the whole keyboard is maybe 1cm thick
Which keyboard are you sporting?
yah I love your grab bag o keycaps!
I miss the left panel that Sun keyboards used to have.
@gusty wedge and the Compose key!
there are 2 Page UP keys 😄
You should rename the stream "MacroPad/BLE Workflow"
Yeap, I know misuse the right+ctrl, but it's not nearly the same.
My old Sun worksktation used to have a LED on the compose key ❤️
I've never lover a workstation as much as my old Sun Ultra 80
I also liked how the mouse was connected to the keyboard
I'm trying to get Absolute Newest from S3 to work on mine.

This is not my box, mine used to have 3 cores 🙂

i have some example code from Limor that is asking for a display library I don't have
I did something like cd path/to/idf; rm -rf *; git co .
got it now -- it wasn't in the bundle adafruit_displaio_sh1106
I'm ordering keycaps now 😉
got it working now -- it also required one reset because the OLED RESET had gotten confused
I also love the explanation in the title on Adafruit about the key presses 🙂
I ordered the 1x4 NeoKey Tuesday but I didn't get any key switches. Doh!
@grand tusk you can always short them with a piece of wire and make clicky noises with your mouth :)
Shopping cart filled and submitted 🙂
I'll just solder in some random momentary switches. Same thing, really. 😏
Is there any other key switch type besides "Kailh"?
Kailh is a company that make switches
@sudden slate Kailh are what Adafruit is selling. They are Cherry MX compatible.
Gateron is another popular brand.
OK. I was just wondering if there was a difference.
JP - you have no idea how tempted I am to grab a set of ocean keycaps. Those looked snazzy.
Do you have the RGB version of the C2? If so, can you set the backlight to solid blue to match the theme?
Also, I really miss the "Home" and "End" Keys on my Macbook Pro...
@waxen thistle totally! I'm using them right now, will be a bit difficult to let them go when I send the keyboard to my mother :)
Just started using circup this week. I like it!
My board is using 1106
Will Adafruit sell any other brands?
1107 may have been prototype
Yeap, I'm addicted to circup as well, I like it so much.
Just noticed it looks like you are dragging to the root of the CIRCUITPY folder - does that work too ? ( I've been dragging to lib )
i'm actually hot to think 🙂
This is great
Specially to move a board from 6 to 7
I'm happy with you doing what ever it is that you want to do. It's fun to just follow along.
(and back agagin)
I for one and glad you're doing macropad stuff because it's giving me a jump start on using it :)
I'm off work and off meetings now. Is someone doing time codes?
Yes 1106 with basicdemo working for me
jaja, from magtag in the bag to a working example (the twitter one) in two minutes.
BTW we have two ways to get the macropad right now, the full kit and the barebones https://www.adafruit.com/product/5100
(mostly because of circup)
plus this https://www.adafruit.com/product/5103
I just wanted to thank @rapid hornet , @open girder , @haughty quiver , and everyone else for doing these videos. I came to Adafruit this way, so it works.
I also saw y'all in a book, sooo
Yes, i have gotten some water so ready.
Off topic... But I noticed the ability to customise USB endpoints in CP7. Any chance of allowing an SD card to be mounted as a (2nd) USB MSC drive?
Macbooks have a "Transfer files to this device" function built in - super easy
I started back in the Becky days, went back to ytb and watched every episode of wearable wednesdays, and then discovered the ask and eng videos. At first I didn't understand much of what Lady Ada was talking, so I went back and watch like -2Y of episodes, and at the end of the tunnel, here I am.
They also have a "Receive files from this device" function
Through Bluetooth, of course
Also, Congrats to Adafruit for 360k subs... that's great!!
Thank you for adding the Nano RP2040 Connect by Arduino. I have two of those coming in on Monday that I'm using for wireless controlled fairly lights with a string of 3x100 Neo Pixels. Currently they are running on an RP2040 Feather, but I'd like to be able to say "Hey Siri turn off the Fairy Lights" and have them turn off with a BLE / WiFi connection.
Sweet! I didn't know they had those 🙂
https://www.adafruit.com/product/4560 Sorry there are 50 of them. I have 3 of them in a string.
I meant I didn't know Adafruit stocks the RP2040 Connects 😋
@haughty quiver Will you use the macropad to revisit your trellis projects?
where did the 'off topic' / mass storage question get posted ?
( future reference for timecodes file )
2 screens above here
Not in the store, but CP supports it, so that's super helpful for getting things running.
thanks - scrolling up
Here - this is for @timid plover
@waxen thistle yes, I'm interested in revisiting a few keypad project for this hardware.
Oh. That makes sense
gonna need that service changed thing 😉
So if the phone dropping the connection and just not reestablishing it? Or is the CP device not advertising?
can you open the Generic Attribute? is 0x2A05 in there?
What app is that?
now is your code indicating?
I am not good at BLE...
Rubber ducky programing via discord, LOL 🙂
IDK what "0x2A05" is, besides a hex number 🙂
Cool icon and name.
it's the service changed characteristic
Oh. OK 😉
Is this available on GitHub?
it's the old way to deal with service changes, the new way is called database hash (spec 5.1)
You beat me to it
That's the way I know
Yes it is!
database hash is simpler/easier, I recommend adding support
Fun to watch for sure!
Relatively new
I just got an M1 Mac and I have an Apple Dev account, so I'm going to follow along on the iOS side too.
Kudos for building it all yourself - I starred and downloaded it to try it myself
I don't love Swift though
I don't have anything close to what y'all would call a cell phone. Mine runs firefox os, so no app of any kind for me :þ
😋
I have an issue, when I program in python on my computer I'm disappointed now when it doesn't restart the code when I save 🙄
Firefox os tried to have their apps be just web sites, which makes sense but never got traction.
FireFox OS ... DO they support the Web Standards APIs? You might have some BLE options available in the browser.
The ironic thing is that the firefox browser is quite ancient 🙂
I plan on getting rid of this phone... and moving to a nice land line rotary pulse phone 🙂
sniffer?
I stay far away from Android. I'm don't want the JRE anywhere near me.
Yes, but only with apps that do it for me, like the MIT app inventor (now not called that...) and I want to try the one from ESP just because.
It stopped working when I got out of the meeting and unmuted youtube. Let me get back to a meeting to see if it works again.
(
correlation...)
Still generates java byteodes
from what i remember
i did an android app, 8 years ago. things have moved on since then. and my brain hasn't
are you sure the phone is just not instantly connecting to it?
I still want to make an AR application for cellphone.
Firefox, Safari, Brave and others do not do WebUSB, WebBLE, WebHID, etc. for security & privacy reasons (see https://mozilla.github.io/standards-positions/#webserial and https://webkit.org/tracking-prevention/)
I recommend forgetting the device to make sure
I have some nice models of 🇨🇷 indigenous petroglyph's that would look amazing on AR.
of course i guess one could build an android app using flutter which does compile to native code on android. i think. theoretically.
it's doing direct advertisement?
Would it be useful if you scan it with the linux box?
agressive how? regarding BLE ?
makes sense.
It's a beatle's song :þ

Hi all
No more community bundle files laying around since I've started using circup.
Yeah, JP said that it wasn't in the bundle.
What should I name my repository for my slider widget? Currently in rsbohn/Dexter_CircuitPython_Slider.
Thanks.
git submodule deinit possibly?
It's meant to be auto-generated, but it's not been running properly on Community recently.
The docs and pypi links are extracted from the indiviual submodules.
It's generated by an adabot script
https://github.com/adafruit/adabot/blob/main/adabot/circuitpython_bundle.py
git clone
--origin <name>, -o <name>
Instead of using the remote name origin to keep track of the upstream repository, use <name>.
Those files were never updated after Initial commit with files from the Adafruit bundle.
There was a typo at Line 8
works_in_progress
The README.txt is needed for something (possibly adabot) related. I tried to remove it before and it broke something.
It's Markdown not RST
Github defaults to README.md not rst
Nipping out to the shop for half an hour.
I get the gawk error on the Community bundle as well
gawk: cmd. line:1: warning: regexp escape sequence `\:' is not a known regexp operator
👍
I think the gawk script REQUIRES at least one submodule to be directory based. None of the ones in CircuitPython_Org meet this requirement yet.
So we need to make a complex one then. 🙂
I love this plan!
Makes sense to me at least
Instead of ./build.sh try
circuitpython-build-bundles --filename_prefix circuitpython-org-bundle --library_location libraries --library_depth 2
docs/conf.mpy dpes not appear for me.
The final term is missing
Perfect timing! I am just leaving! Thanks! See you in the next stream.

I've seen this called dual-sourceable design
Since you can source two different parts/types for one design
I put something like that in my house. Nobody noticed. 😦
lol
Skip the dip? I hope it wasn't onion dip, that's my favorite
I agree, if it works in the design and can help keep the product in stock, just do it!
I have indeed seen this sort of design before! I've seen it in times without shortages, but I don't know if it was an old design from an era with shortages
I remember that Arduino!
Multi-sourceable design
Desperate design :P

@open girder After re-reading my comment, poly-padding still seems like a pretty good term for it. (flip-flopping, that is)
As long as it isn't trademarked, lol
Hopefully you got your desk flipped over without injuring yourself or others. You may have found out it wasn't soooo bad rolling it over in bursts a quarter-at-a-time. BTW, I got mine up, and have a suggested mod for you.
@opaque hearth I didn't have any issues, but it was the smallest at 46". I'm planning on getting the 62", and that I already have help lined up for.
And I really dig that mod, didn't know it was removable that easily.
@waxen thistle Yeah, I read it might have been glued, but I think it it just had a very weak attachment to the desk shellac. It gave up pretty easily. 😁 Great desks! it's home for my new 3d print hobby.
My past desks were Ikea Galant -- great 10 years ago, highly customizable. But they have aged like milk, not wine. Especially with needing height changes.
So that desk is retired, and a piece of it is in the corner for my 3D printing actually.
Desk related: this is the standing desk I built to use in the workshop for my livestreaming station https://jedgarpark.wordpress.com/2017/06/13/standing-desk-build/
loook awesome
@haughty quiver I recently upgraded from Ikea Galants and Harbor Freight benches with one of these Husky hand-crank work tables:
https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-46-in-Adjustable-Height-Work-Table-HOLT46XDB12/301809931
And I can't say enough good things about it
Only negative I could find is the side supports are flush with the left & right sides -- so you can only clamp onto the front and back of the table.
Unless you're super creative with a deep clamp.
But looking at those photos -- very slick looking galvanized pipe design.
Good afternoon all you wonderful folks (and to the woodpecker that's on my roof, I hear you knocking away). 🐦

The product page was the one inside us the whole time.
I'm feeling very self-actualized as a result.
In addition to the quick costume changes, will there ever be a guest arm?
question: the product page says "At the time of launch, there is no Arduino core support for the chip on this board. ", perhaps I misunderstood @haughty quiver saying arduino support
Hi all.
There is the EarlePhilHower Arduino Core which has RP2040 support. The product page hasn't been updated.
found this: https://github.com/earlephilhower/arduino-pico
I've used this sensor to measure the thickness (aprox) of the sides of the wood in a acoustic guitar, and also for (kinda) measuring magnetic noise in a customer's server room.
