QUESTION FOR THE SHOW: Inspired by Apple’s neatness routing a Ethernet cable to the power brick … with Grove / Qwiic taking off well for I2C.. would it be a horrible idea if all of the Industry went with a 10 pin PicoBlade to route i2C & SPI and TX/RX ?… Qwiic to PicoBlade adaptors could bridge the transition….

how does that work internationally ?

digital crescent

How much effort would it be to expand this to other cities/states?

waxen thistle

Less than 100/20 is underserved?

....I feel really at odds with that, as we have 50/25 and 50/50 at our two locations, and it 100% meets our needs. Even with live media streaming.

strong acorn

25 down is enough for 4k streaming

eager matrix

I'm in a zip codes which is among lowest media income zip in NY State and there is a company building out fiber and offering it inexpensively. It should be turned on sometime in the summer.

waxen thistle

Oh yeah, 100% for wired/fiber instead of wireless.

strong acorn

there is no cable or fiber where I am, AT&T won't even do new DSL installs

Aren't we getting our personal 5G hotspots with our vaccine?

i guess i shouldnt make fun 🙂

strong acorn

@simple fractal you need to do different shoulders to get the diversity antenna

lol

5G will actually drive 10Gbit fiber because the cell towers will need A LOT of bandwidth

clever summit
#

I am looking forward to better 5G reception.

waxen thistle
#

I have such horrible cellular reception here in a rural area -- if our vaccines had a 5G transmitter (they don't!), I'd actually be ok with it. 📱

teal river

Vaccines actually just protect you from the 5G mutations

i am lookkng forward to using up my monthly cell data in one day

my cable speed keeps going up here. I think i can download around 150MBs all day. at least i did yesterday.

When I went for my vaccination, I heard staff there talking in 4 or 5 different languages. I was in tears about what an amazing place I live.

I ordered nearly two of everything from Piunora

Import it to Open Street Maps and let it become community maintained

waxen thistle

@tame dew Full agreement there -- a single computer in a household just doesn't work when you have 2+ people vying for it during the day.

Warning, Scott knows about maps...

the bundle has an older tag

#

so the 7.x bundle (from the release on github) doesn't work with the latest

#

the mpy-cross version used is the latest tag/release of Circuitpython

#

so currently they are compiled with a version of mpy-cross that is before the changes to MPY format

#

that's for the bundle, i don't know for the libraries

grand tusk

Yeah, audio much better.

teal river

MUCH much better. A little hot tho
