Is it me, or are we experiencing buffering after @waxen thistle posts a link?
I'm getting some wicked buffering too on Twitch
i got some buffering too
You jinxed it (:
i might have jinxed it
I see it every time @waxen thistle posts.

Vinyl is final -- or as I like to say, welcome to the vinyl frontier 🖖
Wow, twitch really pixelates for a few secomds.
I wish I could get my hands on some of those kailh white switches... so clicky!
neokey socket was cool pick of the week from @haughty quiver this week what could fit nicely to this lemon mechanical keypad
buffer on youtube and twitch too

Hey folks, in this video I'm chatting about how I came up with the idea of the lemon keypad. Quick look at using the Pattern on Path feature in Fusion 360 and checking out some sources where I got the inspiration from.

Who else has tried out the U2IF firmware for the Pico? Super cool!
Woah! I had no idea that was a trinkey, it looked so much like a flash drive!
Yet another awesome media-centric project by Liz that saves time & frustration 🙂
so many designs
so many trinkeys!
ohh that texture
a shroud was the first thing I wished for when seeing the neo-trinkey ... Thanks for the sharing!
oh wow, that texture indeed!
the texture on that wow
My first wish when I saw them was to have 10 of them in my house!
It's the little things that really do matter
Lol, nice! (I'm a little behind on the stream) I just saw the fly, very cool. 🙂
i think it's a cool example of how to use conductive filament
texture for hold the conductive filament to case
I've been meaning to experiment w/ conductive filament
And when Disney releases their extendable lightsaber....time to load CircuitPython on it
I'll send my Bothan spies to steal the design plans.
Sadly, they'll only be available at the expensive hotel, at least at the beginning
Nice bumpers for those coasters @clear matrix! I can just imagine my drink going sliding, especially with condensation. Whee!
That is exactly why Noe and Pedro designed them! Almost lost a coffee after first getting the coasters. 😄
the coasters of awesome
One doesn't lose a coffee --- the coffee will always find you. In a scalding way.

@hard hollow @rocky reef That was the first filament I've ever purchased, too. The second roll I've ever purchased just arrived.
that's so pretty!
I'm excited! It's translucent.
@clear matrix could you link the spool, color looks awesome!
It's this in "Purple": https://www.sainsmart.com/products/all-colors-tpu-flexible-filament-1-75mm-0-8kg-1-76lb I got it on Amazon though.
The other filament is Sainsmart as well, Kaoss Purple is the color. It printed really nicely. Hopefully this does too!
looks so pretty. Like an extra-thick magnet wire 🙂
some could make those plasma candle with it

Wow, thats so small but so powerful!
Dang I forgot it was Cinco de Show N Tell!
I like how you can print an case for it!
EmotiBit looks really cool! And following an announcement for MakerMusicFestival, makes me think that a performance piece with different people "plugging in" could be really be a really fun project
Well, hopefully I’ll have the bits I need for the unicorn light I’m working on that I can show off next week 🙂
This is wearing your heart on your sleeve! 💜
Woah! I saw this on a video recently

That's so awesome of you @nova totem! Hopefully IMUs show up soon. Or finding one is the quest to earn it?
great work @nova totem

Heya @proven crow! 👋
Yes! Zack Freedman did a killer heartbeat driven hexagon wall hanging that is so much fun! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g6n8XLmZ__I

Only 3 ItsyBitsy RP2040 left? Yikes!
A little late for show n tell but happy US commercialized cultural celebration day
??
Wha
🙂 Thank you! So glad it worked out live 😅 . There is no error handling yet and it does fail part way through the download sometimes.
When did Revenge of the 5th become commercialized?
Is this one of those US things I'm too Australian to understand?
Can I still show my project?
In the US we have Cinco De Mayo
Or is it too late?
Oh, Cinco de Mayo!
Next week will have to do.
thx
thanks to the makers of the list she is reading
I'll be there.
It’s literally the 5th of May but we celebrate with drinking and tacos. But the food is the best part even if it isn’t a real holiday
It's too late for this week's show, since it's over. But you can come back next Wednesday, and you can share in #show-and-tell any time!
I think I saw a bundlefly.
That's programmer lazy - take hours to write a script to automate a task that takes (typically) minutes

Same thing for using print statements over a debug log
And then deleting them!
Exactly 😉
But remember to use std::cout or other std output variables if you have threads
JP grounded this week?
Ah yes, the alternative reality JPPP
with JP's propensity for chewing on electronics, he better be be grounded...
What?!?!
Lol, I'm waiting on when AdaBox is gonna start shipping. <EXciTeD>

I want to use the capacitive soil sensor. But what I want to do is have several of them on a Circuit Playground. So I would want to have up to eight of these. OK, I only have four possible addresses, but I can use a seesaw to expand the address space. But how do I "daisy chain" one to another? Or do you have a simple "extension cord" breakout (I couldn't find one) that allows me to plug in one Stemma and take off several more connectors?
If you want to change that setting locally, to name the main branch "main" by default, use this in the command line to tell git to do so:
git config --global init.defaultBranch main
Just did that!
I just got on, what was that python announcment???
They moved their main development branch name from master to main
And before that, 8th anniversary of MicroPython
I know I'm a little late, but I LOVED your May the 4th be with you ode 🙂
I could watch this for hours ...
Also hello everyone
hi!
Would something like this be helpful? https://www.adafruit.com/product/4861
Ahoy @sudden slate
oh yay I'm in time for the selective soldering
Hey @autumn turret
Oohh, new Metro design? (seeing "Beta" on there)
https://tenor.com/view/spongebob-squarepants-dance-happy-dance-歡快-gif-5084836 - Me when I saw the Adabox confirmation
Metro RP2040????
😦
@autumn turret I bet it's just older footage, it said M4 Express
😲
was that cool texture?
My bet's on hardware revision, but then again, you're "in the know"... Hmmm
I hope/wish 🙂
I agree
So soo much
$100 and make me a Metro RP2040 🤤
Curious what you like so much about metro form factor. shield availability?
$200!
You know, if people can stream toast 24/7 on Twitch, I bet a 24/7 selective solder stream would be 🎆
I love that 🍋 keypad so much. I've gotta make one.
I don't know, it's just so cool 🙃
And yeah shields
It's a very familiar layout for a lot of people
same, i've got plans for it
Same
I totally could make a hotswappable version of the lemon keypad
I like how they almost always have the debug connector
Shields but also just awesome form factor. Its the classic!
would be neat to have an emoji score board for discord, today lemon wins
Midi trinkey? @autumn turret
That was a nice interjection of the Bundlefly feature. Thanks! I have been wondering about what you guys are doing with those. That was well done.
Wouldn't put it passed @split gazelle 😄
LEMONS ALWAYS WIN!
I really should learn MIDI
I love Texas too
highly likely 😺
nom nom i love chips
Hope @lilac tusk is watching this Eye on NPI!
@split gazelle have you seen the Artiphone Orba?
That's not a lemon. It tries, but comes up short :/
yeah! Noe was showing that to me. super cool
Songs in the key of Lemon
Artiphon totally blew it not making that thing citrus
IKR 😉
But now I question everything I've ever built that isn't citrus
Overkill?
Definition not found 🙂
"If it's worth doing, it's worth overdoing."
What does that mean 😉
this is totally awesome
QUESTION FOR THE SHOW: Inspired by Apple’s neatness routing a Ethernet cable to the power brick … with Grove / Qwiic taking off well for I2C.. would it be a horrible idea if all of the Industry went with a 10 pin PicoBlade to route i2C & SPI and TX/RX ?… Qwiic to PicoBlade adaptors could bridge the transition….
Once wide adoption we can use just 1 wire for all sensors / breakouts etc
When is the AdaBox unboxing video going to drop??
so many 🍋
Beautiful chip
No such thing as too many!
I agree @proven crow 🍋
Artie Fonorba, you're my only hope!
Could you combine that chip (BQ25792) with a DS3502 or DS1841 to manage frequency?

I plan to do this!
I find that I have something happening when I see smoke
Lol
I do have the Pi Pico!
Pi Pico is a great board to try out CircuitPython on
Is this your board?
I need you learn fast, I bought 10 of the Pico without realizing it wasn’t C/C++ based, lol
If you want to pick a board that has support for a given library built-in: https://circuitpython.readthedocs.io/en/6.2.x/shared-bindings/support_matrix.html
you can totally program Picos in C/C++. The official Pico SDK is C-based. And there's an Arduino core now, which is C++
Ah! Well, I can do both then!
@teal river doctor - w3schools.com has a pretty quick python tutorial.
Pico C/C++ SDK is here: https://datasheets.raspberrypi.org/pico/raspberry-pi-pico-c-sdk.pdf
W3schools good

Also effective to make sure you can close the garage door
Dad used to put a brick under the front wheel, so the car would stop just short of the wall. Unfortunately, the brick slowly crept forward each time he nudged it.
Amazing how little code it takes to make a useful gadget.
How about having a sensor on the side towards the back to tell you if you’re far enough in?
Godspeed!
I'm automating my garage too, but i'm using the sonar sensors to detect which car is not present and show it on the Adafruit.io dashboard
Good luck and thank you.

I also added a auto close sequence to prevent leaving my garage opened overnight by mistake
I love that you were able to get it all working from AdafruitIO page.
It gets activated past x time, let's say 11pm. And it will automatically close the doors if it's safe to do so, but it first give me gives me time to take action.
That's brilliant. I have a "smart" garage door, but the notifications get lost in the sea of others, so I've accidentally left the door open overnight a few times
@grizzled wadi how do you get CircuitPython on a ATmega32U4? but the specs say ESP32-S2? I am confused
Yeah, I'm going to keep building on it. Not sure if you saw the data on it. I have a sensors shield that tracks a lot of data for me from the garage.
With the door between the garage and the house unlocked 😨
I saw that, like temps too. Just so 🤯
No, This is for the new version that is currently on GroupGets.com crowdfunding 🙂 https://groupgets.com/campaigns/936-atmegazero-esp32-s2
It will be out soon
It will ship with CircuitPython
SoonTM
Got it. So the links on circuitpython.org are going to the wrong page. haha, got me!
Same
Sorry about that. I will create a PR to fix it
Awesome. That's looking like a really nice board, and certainly packs an impressive feature set!
thanks Hugo
You'll never guess what I found this morning when I got in the garage to take the kids to school 🤦
LOL, your garage doors opened?
ZOMG!!! How'd you guess???
Because of my last comment and you replied to it.
You'd think after discussing it I would have had the sense to double check it. You'd think...
But apparently, I didn't!
Well, I have good news for you: I'm about to upload the entire project to github. You can use any Circuitpython boards or any relay for that matter. I used my own products but just modify it to fit your needs.
Here is the link to the project, but I haven't uploaded the code yet. https://github.com/eddieespinal/ATMegaZero_Garage_Automation_Circuitpython
Give me a few minutes and i'll have the code pushed
It happens man. That's why I'm building this for myself too.
@autumn turret I pushed the codes, let me know if you get to use it or have any questions
That's so awesome of you! Thanks 🙂
Let's not assume government work is subpar. There are lots of folks who try their hardest working for the government
This is true... In any organization that seems lazy, there's always someone working their butt off and doing the best possible job! Just an old expression I picked up from my dad
In reality I think it's less that government work is subpar and more that in some cases, bureaucratic red tape ends up making government agencies trying to do things trip over themselves
Sometimes old expressions need to be retired 🙂
Old habits die hard… but often things worth doing aren’t easy

Good afternoon all you wonderful snorkelers, scuba divers, and makers! 🤿
Hewwo!
Greetings and good tidings for the weekend friends!
Hello all.
I am everywhere!
Progress is good.
I am the walrus
I am working. At 11 a friday night. Sigh.
Hello all y’all cool people!
I had a pull request that got merged this week.
I’m disassembling a loft bed and trying not to die in the process
I've been revisiting my audio setup --- was able to get a GoXLR on the cheap, so now redoing my mics and whatnot.
Had to fire a consultant and do the job myself. Bah.
how's 03:19 for a time code at 2:00
clap at 4:11
Adafruit job question… are jobs AT Adafruit on a particular page, or would they be on jobs.Adafruit.com along with not-at-Adafruit jobs?
So we had all the weather today. Sun, Rain, Hail. Only missing snow for the win.
Ohhh, I didn’t realize Adafruit was in NY
@teal river you can always send your resume to our team via me pt@adafruit.com too
and everything scott said
So basically just being active and impressive is one of the best things. Awesome, thanks :D
Scott was on Show and Tell and impressed the pants off everyone... 🙂
For anyone not in the know, PT = Mr. Ladyada
_is attempting to sort USB cables _
Like so many things in life, it comes down to "Do good work. Help others." and it'll get noticed. 🙂
When you get to work on stuff you truly enjoy doing 🙂
I did not know there was a Mr. Ladyada!
@autumn turret That's success by my definition -- being to work on the things you want with the people you want.
Mr. Ladyada is Phillip Torrone.
Ahhhh, you're moving us!
Hi weblaters!
ohh yeah!!!
Vibe level: max chill
I was able to stole some translation from @gusty wedge this week 😆

So Fridays are off during the winter for skiing. What is it in summer? Chillin' on the beach? Do they have those in WA?
running
So far the west coast here in canada has been wet and chilly mostly.
I was out on my bike and just missed a flash rain storm.
Is a lightning talk just a brief one?
Hi scott and all.
Spring is finally coming here, we had snow here today but monday will see 23°C.
Ah
Hi Scott. Things are going great here. I hope things are good with you as well.
Buenas tardes @gusty wedge
Buenos tardes @gusty wedge!
Nice rainy afternoon here, just lovely.
Imagine going outside
Buenas Tardes Amig@s
Good luck on the talks @rapid hornet
A monthly meetup for MicroPython Enthusiasts
They should improve the setting, maybe grabbing the screen they use in the Melbourn meetup.
ah that's why he hasn't been reacting to the pyserial stuff
Does Adafruit maintain a count of the collective time from their paid work on CircuitPython core?
(I mean dan, being on vacation)
Yay vaccinated!
That's a swanky looking cup Scott!
Yay fast!
Is celebrating getting vaccinated like a "I voted" message. Because it also hurt those that could not yet. 😦
I'd think not @wind spoke. We need to bring acceptance that being vaccinated is an absolute major component for a return to normal. This is 2021 -- celebrating via social media is an effective way to get that message out. Sends the right message to those we care about.
Very well said 🙂
So it is like "I voted" and some people are not in a democracy. 🙂
Oh yeah, I feel SO lucky to have gotten both doses a few weeks ago. No shame if you couldn't get vaccinated yet, but yay if you can!
I am scheduled for wednesday. And I agree - point being that folk should get vaccinated when it's their turn.
My take is it's irresponsible to not get it unless you have a medical reason to not.
Here in 🇨🇷 we are way behind. My dad just got his two, and that's it. But we are happy to know when other people, in other places get it. It should be celebrated, and it does not affect us in any way other than making us happy.
(we have "India" numbers here)
I know he's not for everyone, but John Oliver did a good segment about why folks should get it, and debunking myths and going over other pro and con arguments
It's tough here because I'm on the Canadian border and they don't have enough and the new wave there that is pretty bad. Like a mile away.
Yeah, a few days ago
Yes i had my first dose of Moderna about a month ago. In canada we are using the get one shot to as many people as possible. Supposedly its starting to accelerate now with large incoming shipments
I live with my parents and do a lot around the house, and because they're both at risk, I was in an advanced group. Got mine only a couple days after them because i had to go on the weekend
For anyone interested: https://youtu.be/gPHgRp70H8o
John Oliver explains why some people don’t want to get the Covid-19 vaccine and how they might be reassured. (Even you, Mike in Baltimore.)

Yes, good show.
Just a friendly heads up -- as much as I agree with Oliver's message and love his presentation, some of his comments and language may not be suitable for all ages 🙂
@teal river same. I get to take my mother out for Mother's day.
Well i learnt bad words pretty young 🙂 and now i'm too old to care
Lol
Translated to spanish as well 🙂
Jon O is on HBO.
I was worried about speed of interpreted language. Especially for math... and then I discovered ulab!
And yes, I use CircuitPython to introduce people to programming and to cpython.
ah, math.
Hello everyone!
Chip shortages probably will get worse before getting better... And will be a thing for a while
copper is now at its highest price ever. wonder what that will cause
Go and watch Lady Ada in the Great Search, where they find replacements to chips that could or are in shortage.
Chip shortage also mean I have time to play with all I have without ordering anything new!
lol
I'm stocking vacuum tubes, but that has nothing to do with the shortage 🙂
I tried to share the link to the crowdsupply video - maybe it was censored ?
But you're also stocking RISC-V products
I'm well prepared for the chip storage. I have a storage shelf filled with doritos, thick-cut sour cream & onion, and fritos deep scoop.
Actually, it's kinda the sub-theme of the great search from now on.
give me a sec, looking into it
Crowd supply video: https://youtu.be/EGkrReSjwxI?t=297
Piotr Esden from 1BitSquared and Helen Leigh from Crowd Supply talk about how supply chain issues and the global chip shortage is affecting engineers, makers and hackers right now, and how the situation is likely to develop over the coming months.
Join us as we take a look at why we are in this situation: from the serious knock on effects of...
Those are in heavy use. One riscv box is on load 12 (it only has 4 cores), and the other one on load 4 (with just 2 cores).
nRF9160 ?
TSMC is currently at 100% capacity, and they've had issues with power, water, and other utility outages, causing loss of product, meaning shorter supplies
(let me freak everyone) As long as there is no UV paint/ shortage....
I have spent hours undoing changes tonight. Thank God for GIT....
Yeah, how to start with TinyLogicFriend?
Git history has saved me from many a stupid keyboard session
👋
Tiny logic friend! I remember that stream 🙂
I still don't have a handle on git rebase. The other day scott did one, but I forgot on which video :(...
Same with TI, especially with the fun Texas weather situation a short while ago
thanks @light stump !
"thank you to @light stump "
🙏
@light stump It's awesome you're helping bring test tools to everyone.
I read they had to dump a bunch of material that was in mid process, costing a bunch of money...
Ah, didn't catch that -- I watch TSMC in the PC space
Also I lost my iPhone and it's on muuuuute
Heard the same thing. Materials that went to waste mid-production, no-longer-clean rooms, etc
🎉 That is looking really nice! Thanks for all the work on that @light stump
"Find my iPhone" should be able to ring even on mute
And super helpful opinions!
@light stump - any interest in #tigard testing ?
FOUND IT I am dumb
Challenge is really compiling sigrok/PulseView. If anyone is willing to figure out building that, then I’m eager for testers!
didn't have a compatible device available for FindMy, lol
Maybe it’s easier to build on Windows than MacOs but should be do-able on all platforms.
I sat it on a box in the hallway XD
it only takes going to icloud.com I believe
Yep once merged then Sigrok will have binaries to download, so much easier to use.
I once “lost” my AirPods. Bought new ones… the originals were under my bed.
Very effective way to find lost stuff is to buy a replacement.
Why buy one when you can have two at twice the price!
Definitely, if you have an Cortex M4 board around I’d love to have you test it out.
Is there a summary of USB endpoints/ supported by various boards? Do any have USB audio?
disabling USB devices allows to win back USB endpoints to enable new ones (like the second serial on chips with a small amount of endpoints)
What I'm very surprised by the apple trackers is that they use a coin cell battery. One of the things that turned me away from the original Tile was a sealed, non-replaceable battery.
So kudos to apple for thinking about that.
thanx
I really like ifixit's approach -- how can I not enjoy a group that rips off "voided warranty" stickers with reckless abandon? 🙂
If you want to track the TinyLogicFriend and sigrok progress, follow this PR https://github.com/sigrokproject/libsigrok/pull/137.
it's not on by default
hahaha, we're a bad influence on scott 😛
well given that warranty voided stickers are not enforceable then i guess they are safe 🙂
there are erase UF2 in the tinyUF2 repo at least
But if not just CircuitPython has that board info, that means that anyone could use it. ANYONE!
Since you have code in the core to deal with LED "animation", should there be a Python interface to trigger that from user space?
My feather with the crushed status LED. 😩
How did it get crushed? D:
Real reason for the chip shortage.
Scott - where are you reading comments ( besides Discord and youtube )?
FeatherM4. The little one next to the mounting holes lost the battle with standoffs. But “There is another”
ah 🙂
I have damaged my arm and am bleeding DX curse you frail biological frame!
but can a UF2 app do that ?
woo my Adabox just got delivered in time for the weekend, and I guessed what it may be! (no spoilers don't worry)
I want to know what's in Adabox! Send me a personal message.
No Adabox delivery to Sweden.... 😢
There should be a guide or list or big warning on board that have special way to move to firmware update mode, or require special trick.
I thought UF2 could have "apps", like you write them to the OTA partition, and run it, withouth screwing with the bootloader or Circuitpython
the Seeeduino Xiao has no LED
but
All of my RP2040 boards have no LED because they are Pi Pico
wait I might be wrong
This month's AdaBox is a bag of 64 NeoTrinkeys
with 63 switches, and 62 keycaps?
Now Adafruit need to sell octopus USB HUB.
Hmm, a keycap grab bag.
Sorry, that was last week! lol
surplus black masks
I was wrong, the Xiao has no reset button, but it has an LED
Actually I now realize it is the charging LED that was crushed…
What was the page to get started in CircuitPython?
Also need to sell a bag with all the various kind of key strenght, to decide what click we like.
key makers do key-testing keyboards like that
Cherry MX Blue-style is best
Thanks!
mechanical keys are a rabbit hole....a very expensive rabbit hole
Years ago, I collected keyboard. Then when running out of space, I only have only saved the strange/unusual keycap.
I just got a keychron C1 with red keys, and I'm now wanting their low-profile K3 with Orange.
can we read the BOOTSEL status though ? I know they had to add electronics to be able to read it on Adafruit 2040 boards
I bought a $30 keyboard with clone Blues and I'm happy, lol
💯 commits behind micropython…
I never thought I would see the day: https://github.com/IronLanguages/ironpython3/releases/tag/v3.4.0-alpha1
I shall learn while hanging out!
Was counting blinks for the line number. Then it flashed red!
I'd like to chat with others using IronPython
print("Hello world!") is the new blink in CircuitPython.
squints at YouTube what are we looking at?
I've updated my keyboard with more neokeys
I used it a lot in OLD$JOB 6 yrs ago.
This whole "save and it happens" thing is so cool! Much better than write, compile, upload, wait, Arduino restart, see if it worked, then have to make a change, compile, upload, wait...
Oh, I meant what were we looking at with the camera view XD
Watching a piece of paper. 🙂
lol
put a dab of hotglue on top of your LED as a quickie diffuser
Having the error messages appear on the TFT FeatherWing is also way cool.
Can we raise SafeMode()?
Are the colours for the status LED in a hue that is distinguishable to folks who are colour blind?
RIP mouse
cool
🐛
Uhoh, bent pin!
gnarly
nice
It was very blurry, lol
The only time a bent pin is a problem is if it breaks or shorts something that fries the device XD
Sound is interesting
I'm glad I'm not the only one suffering from too many tabs. You'd think four monitors would be good enough. You'd think, right?
No, that's nowhere near enough! 6 is also not enough, I can tell you this from experience
3x 24" 1920x1200 + MBP 16" @ 2560x1600. And I'm --this close-- to getting the iPad for SideCar's additional display.
I have 4 monitors too 😄
what do you use to drive 4 monitors?
My main machine has a 27" 1440p, 2x 1080p 21", 2x 900p 2", 1x 900p 19". Just bought a 4K 27" tho
CircuitPython here I come!
1x 27" 2560x1440 + 2x 21" 1920x1080 + 1x 23" 1920x1080
It's all being driven by my late 2013 iMac. It can run two of the display via it's mini display ports but I had to use a USB to HDMI adapter for the 4th.
And since it's an iMac it has a screen built in
hahaha
What happens when the code is run is that is displaying some hard work from the weblate gang!
What is the "blink" when waiting for an UF2 file? Is that in TinyUSB? Is it "compatible" with your new blink?
you mean in the bootloader ?
When you double click the reset button to upgrade.
Uhh... does Pi Pico work with USB 3?
yeah it's in the bootloader, not in circuitpython
nevermind i dumb
Any way to slow down a crash/reset loop?
Yeah, set PWM freq to 0 in code.py and it went badly.
I realized I had been playing with a Pico using the Arduino bootloader and you need to plug it in while holding BOOT to get it to show as a drive
yay!
or reset, while hodling bootsel Doctor (if you added a reset button)
No reset button on the Pico
I'm an hour and a half late for class...
lol
Is the behaviour different when connecting to a computer or powered by a power bank?
Double license, double safe!
I need to track down a power bank that supports ultra-low power draw.
Which if they named that power bank "Stealing Joules", that would be awesome 🏦
How much space do we win?
brb!
A tiny one, in German. 🙂
Try on the QT Py!
Let's talk about why you should use the command alias please=sudo 🙂
I noticed you don't do -Os when compiling. Why not?
alias pleaseworkthistime=git
ahh got it
3124 bytes free 🙂

"There's always room in the market to charge more for premium" - Apple
Only 4 days left
Woot R.C.W.
how does that work internationally ?
How much effort would it be to expand this to other cities/states?
Less than 100/20 is underserved?
....I feel really at odds with that, as we have 50/25 and 50/50 at our two locations, and it 100% meets our needs. Even with live media streaming.
25 down is enough for 4k streaming
I'm in a zip codes which is among lowest media income zip in NY State and there is a company building out fiber and offering it inexpensively. It should be turned on sometime in the summer.
Oh yeah, 100% for wired/fiber instead of wireless.
there is no cable or fiber where I am, AT&T won't even do new DSL installs
A lot of refugees entering from Canada land in my neighborhood.
I have returned! But 30 minutes late DX I blame the fire
Aren't we getting our personal 5G hotspots with our vaccine?
Greenlight Networks. It's base in Rochester New York.
i guess i shouldnt make fun 🙂
@simple fractal you need to do different shoulders to get the diversity antenna
lol
5G will actually drive 10Gbit fiber because the cell towers will need A LOT of bandwidth
I am looking forward to better 5G reception.
I have such horrible cellular reception here in a rural area -- if our vaccines had a 5G transmitter (they don't!), I'd actually be ok with it. 📱
Vaccines actually just protect you from the 5G mutations
i am lookkng forward to using up my monthly cell data in one day
The owner of the Buffalo Sabres is taking care of his region. He's from Rochester.
my cable speed keeps going up here. I think i can download around 150MBs all day. at least i did yesterday.
Remote education with a laptop or tablet really showed the disparity in US households 😦
and no cap.
Do they have the data ?
doesnt the FCC have a map showing speeds
When I went for my vaccination, I heard staff there talking in 4 or 5 different languages. I was in tears about what an amazing place I live.
I ordered nearly two of everything from Piunora
Import it to Open Street Maps and let it become community maintained
@tame dew Full agreement there -- a single computer in a household just doesn't work when you have 2+ people vying for it during the day.
Warning, Scott knows about maps...
i'm also a Piunora supporter
I love maps 🙂
If you even have a computer or broadband. My neighborhood is heavily immigrant households that I doubt have either 😦
Is the show still live? I'm catching up DX

My wife works for Ookla (Speedtest) they got data on the speeds for all the places
oh - not open?
I have installed LibreSpeed at home...
Its as open as your willing to pay for it 🙂

Thanks @rapid hornet for an excellent way to end the week 🙂
yes bits, just checked. but it could be the servers i was transferring from. isp claims i have 350mbs
Thanks for the TinyLogicFriend discussion today and for all the encouragement and suggestions!
thanks Scott. It's always awesome and fun.
thanks scott. another good time was had by all.
Hopefully in a future project I’ll convince @glad mortar to do PoE headers
Great job on the MP merges !
Thanks for another great stream.
@light stump Thanks for working on that project!
I'm guessing it just ended and I'm still 20 minutes behind DX
and my build of cpy 7.??? worked
BLE workflow...
wraping up 🙂
Nice stream, thanks and good night! Have a nice weekend peeps!
The cat
RIP me DX stupid grease fire
Thank you @rapid hornet . Have a great PyCon!
Thanks Scott
yay, cat time. we get all the best cats
Thanks.
Glad I got to hang out some tho!
Thanks for the dive and the company Scott and friends! Have a wonderful weekend!
thanks all!
have a great weekend all.
This is my favorite stream
My Adabox hasn't even shipped yet 😦 I'm guessing it's a Funhouse Box - don't tell me 🙂
I couldn't get to Deep Dive today 😦
I will be there next week though - I've got nothing going so far 🙂
I will be streaming some work on CircuitPython Libraries this morning. Hang out with me here in the chat, on Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/foamyguy_twitch or Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fkEcwVXkMgc
Good morning!
hi
henlo!
is the mic super quiet like far away or is it me ?
It does sound far
Noisy background when talking
Ah, yeah, dead silent when you aren't speaking
Ha, you should hear my fans when I stream from the lab!
the best feature of the Clue is how cute it is
the bundle has an older tag
so the 7.x bundle (from the release on github) doesn't work with the latest
the mpy-cross version used is the latest tag/release of Circuitpython
so currently they are compiled with a version of mpy-cross that is before the changes to MPY format
that's for the bundle, i don't know for the libraries
Yeah, audio much better.
MUCH much better. A little hot tho
I have my mic on arm, and I always forgot to move it in front of me when I have a meeting. It is in the way in front of the monitors.
Scan the I2C bus, see if anything is connected?
