There are current limitations when using a GPIO to sink current … for controlling “bigger things” use a transistor to control them
question— are you excited about bluetooth 6.0? how soon do you think it will be until we can have them on microprocessors ?
Love to mommy Ada and baby Ada !!
Feel better soon Lady Ada!
And kudos to daddy Ada !
Thanks @open girder and good night. 🌒
Are you going to have single DotStar leds?
thanks for being on when not feeling well ❤️
Thanks @open girder and feel better soon
Thanks ladyada and mr ladyada! Hope you feel better soon
Thank you for taking time for us.
Night all!
gnite Limior & pt!
Have a great week everyone. ☕️
Get Well Soon!
Oh wow! Press The Green Button is awesome!!
good afternoon
👋
👋
Hi John
barely but i am here
hello @dusk socket
@split gazelle Sending Healing Vibes
@haughty quiver Audio failed.
Nice t-shirt!
Looking forward to so smarting up
JP's shirt is some sorta cool spaceship. Looks like an XLR class starship
Just received my two pack of RP2040 with Lora Radio... looking forward to time to play with them.
I like the growing collection of screens there. JP is starting his own museum, it seems. 😄
Hi JP
XLR carrying crew ELO
hehe
At our house it’s sometimes referred to as the cigarette lighter shirt.
ahahah "is that a vape pen?"
Limit 2 on them
Discount code reports: This coupon has expired
Lol
Thanks for sharing your screen while doing this coupon code, @haughty quiver, so we can make our own coupon codes now 😉
hold that up a bit higher and we can see it reflected in the TV screen behind you.
coupon code fixed and worked
every time you show doomkeeb two of your web cam show up one main the other small to the left jp.
👍
Johnparkception.
DOOOOOOOOOOOOOM
is it possible to make the scl and sda to a software serial jp?
Yes, they can also be used as pseudo- RX TX too
Yes! You can do hardware serial too, on some chips
I’ve used them for MIDI serial
Yep, my MacroPadSynthPlug uses one line for hardware serial receive : https://github.com/todbot/macropadsynthplug
Doom's keyboard
I could've sworn there was a Learn Guide that had JP as DoomGuy but I can't find it
I'm thinking of a different Doom, obviously... 🤔
Yes I have all the parts but I will be using esp32-s4 rev tft
hey who you calling a nurb
Lol
dr lars doom
esp32-s3 rev tft not s4 typo
dr lars doom: this is larsa (sparta)
Ooo, neat idea! Is there a WASM-compiled browser-based DooM so it could work on any OS with a browser?
there is
but not sure how to make it "just run" as an app, which is one of the big appeals of JP's idea
there is even doom3 on wasm http://www.continuation-labs.com/projects/d3wasm/
D3wasm: a port of id Tech 4 / Doom 3 engine to WebAssembly
omg that's incredible
todbot this is what you asked too https://silentspacemarine.com/
nice
Can't see it...
I bet it was cool
Lol
That's nifty!
It's not the true DOOM experience until it updates your AUTOEXEC.BAT for you as well.
the other one also show it too https://diekmann.github.io/wasm-fizzbuzz/doom/ with guide too
That's a lot of hub, bub
that's a really fun idea!
Hubbub at the hub...
@haughty quiver Maybe create a share to that volume name, and run it from the share... 🤔
todbot there is wasm runtimes what could run on wasm apps on different scenarios
For Windows batch files, I think you can use relative paths (e.g. .\gzdoom\gzdoom.exe) instead of an absolute path
Unleash-able Doom at your fingertips
trackpad gamer here, I prefer a mouse, but needs must sometimes (many years of counterstrike + GTA).
Re:batch files - ChatGPT claims this one liner would work in the run dialog to search usb drives for the first with gzdoom\gzdoom.exe and run it:
cmd /c "for /f "tokens=2 delims=:" %i in ('wmic logicaldisk where "drivetype=2" get deviceid ^| find ":"') do if exist %i:\gzdoom\gzdoom.exe start %i:\gzdoom\gzdoom.exe & exit"
Looks legit
Now my head's spinning...
jp do you have a 3D printer?
checked to how ot run doom wasm it was easy like first you surely need wasmer runtime to install then just wasmer run doom
Needs some finagling...
maybe you can make a custom keyboard top
the todbot for how to run wasm app well check this runtimes and they all have guide they own https://blog.logrocket.com/webassembly-runtimes-compared/
This isn't a cyberdeck, it's a CYBORGDECK
Thanks JP
Thanks @haughty quiver . Have a great weekend everyone.
First rule of Doomdeck: Don't talk about Doomdeck
Thanks, @haughty quiver 👍
Thanks JP!
Bye all. 👋
Thank you!
thanks JP
thanks all!
Thanks you JP looks like a fun build
Just missed the live stream - that 'strain relief' for the trackpad ribbon cable isn't a strain relief - its a ferrite core to minimize RF noise. You really should put it back thru there.
i tried your chatGPT Snippet in both the run terminal and cmd its self and both don't find my sd card with gzdoom\gzdoom.exe path in it. the sd card is connected via usb.
try running the wmic command wmic logicaldisk without the device type filter afterwards, and then see what device type your sd card shows as
@tulip kestrel try this to just show letters and drive types:
wmic logicaldisk get drivetype,caption
Mine shows a removalbe usb drive as drivetype2
Here is the main nvme drive (type 3), a usb stick (2), and a network drive (4)
my drive im looking for is L
wmic logicaldisk get drivetype,caption
Caption DriveType
C: 3
D: 3
E: 2
F: 3
G: 3
H: 2
I: 2
J: 2
K: 2
L: 2
M: 5
curious, it should have evaluated all the removable drives. Possibly may fail if they fail to enumerate. Are drives E-K disconnected? I'll have to ahave a go on the other laptop with SD reader. I'd have thought the exist would fail fine 🤷♂️
E: is CIRCUITPY
F: is 3D_Files
G: is Local disk
H, I, J, and K are ghost drives because my usb hub/sd card reader automatically mounts them but thay have no volume.
i have also tried it on my laptop which has a hub/sd card reader without ghost drives and it still didn't find the exe. your code don't work I'm afraid, unless you got it working on your end?
Thanks for reporting it, led me on a path that turned out all sorts of things with escaping and max length of run dialog. Seems easiest with powershell powershell -c "& { gwmi win32_logicaldisk -f 'DriveType=2' | % { try { $p = $_.DeviceID + 'gzdoom\gzdoom.exe'; if (Test-Path $p) { Start-Process $p; break } } catch {} } }"
it had to be run in the run app but by goly ge you've done it man. JP will be so pleased to hear this.
hay @haughty quiver look what tyeth did.
you can type this into the run dilolog box and have it find doom on any drive letter with the path gzdoom\gzdoom.exe without needing to know the drive letter.
heres the code to type.
powershell -c "& { gwmi win32_logicaldisk -f 'DriveType=2' | % { try { $p = $_.DeviceID + 'gzdoom\gzdoom.exe'; if (Test-Path $p) { Start-Process $p; break } } catch {} } }"
never mind figered it out my self happy coding everyone
thanks that was my suspicion, will do!
@unreal bay @tulip kestrel rad, will try that out!
@unreal bay @tulip kestrel yes that totally did the trick, thank you!
I added a few of extra backslashes to make it happy as a CircuitPython string and now we're unstoppable!
your welcom
👋 youttube n twitch rocking fine
shalom
no way, congratulations
Nothing like last minute meetings on a Friday.
Congrats Scott! (Heard that part of the start of the show)
would a full erase make any difference? as you say getting an example via the idf is probably a good step
there were two sets of toolchain files, top set was clang, you wanted this one instead https://github.com/espressif/esp-idf/blob/master/tools/cmake/toolchain-esp32p4.cmake
esptool has some stuff https://github.com/espressif/esptool-js/blob/main/src/targets/esp32p4.ts
ahah using Copilot to make temp logging printf()s is the best use I've heard so far
Nothing like finding a missing , was that you have been chasing for 20 minutes
Thanks Scott!
thanks all!

yeah it takes me a few milliseconds to get going in the morning
So I could wake up my device by yelling at it?
Maxim has some very cool I2S DACs that are fairly affordable but def. more on the feature rich side
Thanks and good night.

Hi everyone. It seems to happen the "Keyboard" in usb_hid class is for sending out the characters only. The "pressed_keys" attribute does not exist anymore. It would be highly appreciate it if someone would make a tutorial about how to get pressed keys from a usual USB keyboard connected to RPI in Circuitpython. Thanks a lot in advance.
Your question is best asked in #help-with-linux-sbcs since it involves a Raspberry Pi SBC. Live broadcast chat channel is normally only posted in during Adafruit Livestreams.
Thanks a lot. I am new to discord.

heyyyyy
good afternoon ☕
Good afternoon
Hi John
Dunt Dunt Dah - afternoon
Wow, a 3-D green screen. So realistic!

Plug in a 1999 iMac USB mouse!
If you connect 2 microcontrollers to it will it enumerate both in the PC? Such as 2 Pi Pico's?
the great usb hub
What's with all the Hubbub Bub?
Yes. This is a regular USB 2.0 hub, just without the plugs
🐭
Got it in 1
👋 Can you chain them, and how many in theory? Presumably their passive powered not active usb hubs so not too many.
I heard of a cart wheeled around in win98se testing days with 128 usb devices hotplugged and then randomly pulled to test stability.
I knew it: JP is a hacker spy
That sounded like the MakeCode Minute tune.
No Lars is!
I never trusted Lars.
EEK aMouse, or is it a trackball?
lars mini usb hub
Everyone knows not to plug a random USB Flash drive but a USB A Mouse?
I can see some use for plugging in a microcontroller and having a SDCard enumerate at the same time. A good way to get Python to shuffle stuff automatically to the SD.
Thanks @haughty quiver
Picked up a few of these too. Seems like they would pair well together. https://www.adafruit.com/product/5180
Thanks JP
Thanks JP!
thanks all!
it was, good ear!
was that the puck?
yep, @haughty quiver, beautiful neon mouse puck

Hello! 👋
Python, what's that?
I think it's based on CircuitPython.
I wanted to show a prototype of a new synth module tonite but I'm still hacking on it and it's not quite ready for prime time.
Using itsaSNAP with Shortcuts could be really cool. Thx @drowsy zenith!
Nice project
love the style of this lamp
The lamp looks great!
Yeah! Very retro-futuristic
3d printed in place objects are really cool
Yay serial plotter! You the best, @smoky island
Awesome rughook!
lol I did short out a PermaProto on my modular synth the other day
Awesome. @cinder wind
that is a hot qt py tip. With that + stemma/qt you get a bunch of pins w/ no soldering
thx!
and this is the pogo clip I showed: https://www.adafruit.com/product/5433
@nova totem amazing!
yay audio effects in circuitpython! thanks @nova totem !

So nice, Mark!
Awesome work @nova totem
Nice! looking forward to playing with the new effects.
Great projects all, thanks for sharing
Great projects everyone. Thanks for sharing.
awesome stuff all!
Thanks everyone!
@nova totem for effects inspiration you might want to check out ElectroSmash- they made some Arduino pedal kits and a few of them were multi-effects. Might be useful https://github.com/ElectroSmash
Thanks! So far I've only looked at the teensy library and not much else yet

yah, middle logo is good

it's floppy on the inside

floppy bird?
hey if 3.5" floppies are good enough for the Smithsonian to call "floppy", I think it's okay: https://www.si.edu/object/button-dont-copy-floppy:nmah_1386919
I bet even the 5¼-inch floppy and 8 inch floppy guys fight
-
I don't see a 120° lens sold separately. I think what you're asking is if you can use the lens from one kit with the sensor from the memento. I'd try something a little simpler that isn't reliant on a specific mounting size; maybe an inexpensive clip-on lens for mobile phones.
-
Can you clarify what you're doing with the nunchuks?
yeah it's sad to see people spend millions on something and then closing shop without anything being usable by anyone because it's "property"
https://2025.oshwa.org/ their CfP is open!
Social robots have seen an especially frequent demise
Note to self: in Edinburgh, Scotland, not Edinboro, Pennsylvania
here is the 120 lens sold with brake out

Really proud that this social robot I worked on is going strong. (My prototypes included Adafruit parts.)

Gorgeous mural!
Yeah that look great
Awesome Eric that's cool. But yeah not a great history of many others in that space.
the clear filament looks really good with that LED noodle
@hard hollow Brilliant to not try to stuff the noodle in the 3D print, and just wrap it! Gonna steal that idea!
The pumpkins remind me I bought some UV LEDs last year to light up some pumpkins (that got delivered after halloween)

EZ-PD™ Barrel Connector Replacement-Plus (BCR-Plus)
BCR LOL
you never have the right tip anyway yeah 🤷
I've played Guess The Barrel Jack on Digikey before 🤔
xkcd: Standards https://xkcd.com/927/ 😅
But why not just use HUSB328?
People started making USB-C replacements for PSUs for old computers btw, like this one for Apple IIc: https://www.8bittees.com/product/apple-iic-usb-c-power-adapter-with-volt-gauge/
literally showed minutes ago
@open girder Question: Have you found any USB batteries that support the 5V 5A desired by Raspberry Pi 5? Would something like that BCR-PLUS from EyeOnNPI help?
Question: can this chip only pass voltage if it's the one requested and not below it? I've seen chips that just pass whatever they get as long as it's below or equal what's requested, but I don't feel that's safe, as some devices might break if it's below the rated voltage. maybe not old computers that use linear regulators, but some switching mode PSUs actually won't work and literally pass higher voltages if the input is not high enough, which is dangerous.
I'm thinking about making such an adapter for the MO5 which needs 15V or so…
"if 12V cannot be had 9V will be observed"… 🤔
OK yeah just looked at the datasheet, there are separate pins for both VBUS_MIN and VBUS_MAX, each get a resistor divider, so yeah you can force a fixed voltage and nothing else, cool.

that mural is rad
Would love to see a circuit python or arduino boot loader compatible board made with the ATUC256L3U, 51 GPIO 36PWM, 15 possible SPI slaves, 12 DMA channels and more.
91 in stock.
Karaoke over serial bus?
Question for the show—— the new RP2350 has an option to cut the charging jumper to use non lithium batteries —- how well does the RP2350 go into a deep sleep mode with Arduino? would an ESP variant be better for long duration on batteries?
Thank you for taking time for us.

Morning/afternoon/evening all 👋
hi there all!
good afternoon
Subs! Scribe!
hihi
👋 hey JP (+ all)
The Voice of Lars...
Sup JP
Stop letting Lars play with your lighting gear 😉
Lol
I wish Limor would combine the KB2040 and the coaster into the KB2040Coaster
Lars is burrowing through to China.
LedActiveRreactiveState
there's probably a better way to do that than what I gave to JP, but it works 🙂
List comprehensions are great!
next is with RP2350
Lol. Nice collection of superheroes...
Yeah playing Lars in Street Fighter sucks because he always plays Baraka
Audio died?
@haughty quiver No audio
I have stopped hearing you
Lars unplugged the audio feed. 😛
Workshop charades...
@haughty quiver just lost audio on youtube
And he's back
back, maybe was me
Audio has returned.
maybe you can do a super-capacitor version of your mic battery packs, new meaning to the phrase quick charge
ah usb-c laptops are very handy, although I haven't seen any 240w monsters yet
No static here.
we had a brief moment before you came back where it sounded like a snow storm / mic up a wooly jumper, wasn't too long
Was only static when you were out of the workshop
Thanks JP
Great workshop, JP. 👍
Thanks JP + all
Thanks JP!
thanks JP!
Bye all. 👋
thanks so much, bye!
👋
Hello, is that from the first baby, or for a next baby? Did I miss something?
Hi Scott. I finally ordered a couple of Pico 2 boards. I should see them Monday. Gary Explains had a good video of YouTube about using VSCode with it.
I just realized if you're off in a month I should get this effects API sorted before then 😂
I'm the opposite of Scott, just became an empty nester with the youngest off to college. 🙂
One nice baby monitoring thing I had was a plate you put under the bed, and it detect movement (or lack of). I think it was "Angel care", the sensor as a jack connector, so maybe I can figure out what kind of signal it give.
It''s kindo of interesting that things here have moved to baby monitors from all the talk about Legos last month
Merlin Bird ID is really great.
It's called Merlin and it's magic
I'd love to see a similar app for insects like crickets and tree frogs.
It's all run by Cornell
https://birdnet.cornell.edu/
Does it detect baby cries and tell you if it want food, or need new diaper, or something else?
I'm late again
You just missed the intro. 😉
hey
Speaking of sockets, my openthread module is currently crashing on init
yawns what catch more yawns
Coding last weekend while sick I spent hours staring at the dumbest of errors blind to them.
I have the Mars Rover sitting waiting for me
I want the lego light house.
The miny falcon is pretty neat - 75375
my long term goal is to still get the lego piano to be a midi instrument
Get the Lego Castle, don't ask the price though
That's cool
The race cars, they have ones in two different scales / price points. I have the Mustang it is compact but fun
except then you end up with accidentally working code
(I work less then 5 minutes away from the Lego store, if I'm bored at lunch...)
soon the race cars implemented with circuitmatter
I'm still disappointed that the lego typing machine can only type "o"
Worse hobbies.... Like microcontrollers maybe???
Then you combine lego and microcontrollers... but who would do that 👀
doesn't the recent lego smart brick run micropython?
the problem I have with lego is that I no longer play with it like I did as a child — it's more like puzzle now, where you follow the instructions, and put it back into the box, instead of mixing everything and spending hours building random things out of it
I wonder if we could make a replacement PCB with the rp2040 for that lego smart brick
I just visited a friend in another city who builds his own creations that are unreal. He is working on a working heart
If/When I get the lighthouse I'll try to remember to poke at the smart brick and see
I have a friend like that too, he's building a big magical tower now, with every room having a different thing in it
Design it on the computer, order the parts and then build it.
sounds too much like designing pcbs
I am so sad they cancelled Mindstorm.
When I had my first salary I went for some LEGO box I never had the money to get before. Of course my Mindstorm RCX is a bit obsolete now...
The person I know does both. His room had buckets upon buckets of parts sorted
my friend builds it first from blocks he has that are possibly wrong colors, then orders the right color parts
my childhood officially ended when I entered a lego store, and realized that I can buy anything in there, but wouldn't have time to really play with it
Then you collect unbuilt sets like normal adults do 😂
lookg at the pile of unpainted warhammer 40k minis...
"For my kids", I went for Duplo (smart) train that make sound based on colour code.
as new warhammer game is out
in a week or two, I hope
have you seen this mario lego thingy? with an oled screen and a camera pointing down?
could be interesting thing to hack
I resisted...
have a great weekend!
BUY ALL THE LEGO!
and hope everything going well with the baby!
Lego D&D minifigures...
thanks all!
I bought the D&D set, wasn't sure but in person it looked a lot nicer then the box art
Get an app to scan the minifigure "QR", so that you get the 12 minifig without duplicate. I was told those minifig goes well with the set.
I heard that, not sure if I will buy more or not. I need to display the dragon if nothing else
the gray pile of shame
I'm getting started for the morning now. Working on the web workflow a bit. You can follow along on Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/foamyguy_twitch or YT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AEtTMZF_1Fo
Hey @smoky island nice one on the serial plotter. Was pleasantly surprised when I got it working at IP/code/ although it required a custom build and tweak of web-editor (public assets device.js to use code-beta instead)
I had to change the html file in Circuitpython build to use my custom copy of device.js https://github.com/circuitpython/web-editor/commit/3c84e7df7ed1408f093911fff1bafe77f0710069
E.g. change https://github.com/adafruit/circuitpython/blob/87f7bc9fcc74e8ada4f255a8d7824f46a039995c/supervisor/shared/web_workflow/static/code.html#L11
to use https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/tyeth/circuitpython-web-editor@beta-device-js/public/assets/js/device.js
Yeah I only changed code
Circuitpython.org to code-beta (in device.js)
There were two maybe to change

Thank you, Thach, for doing all the TinyUSB and to Adafruit for supporting them! It's been such a game changer these last few years
every time I hear "race conditions" I get shivers of previous debugging ghosts
One of the coolest thing that TinyUSB enables is TinyUF2: a cross-platform UF2 bootloader for many many chips & boards. My belief is that the existence of TinyUF2 encouraged RaspberryPi to put UF2 in ROM for their RP2xxx MCUs https://github.com/adafruit/tinyuf2
Question: how would someone get the usb data (data to setup HID) to setup with tiny USB? is there a software for windows to get this data? please share links in discord.
Question: is there a itsaSNAP equivalent for android?
A lot of times there are wired so that if the wiring to the switch fails, it also kills the machine.
So you're saying my CircuitMatter-based E-STOP switch is maybe not a good idea?
Does it have AI?
I mean, it better, how else am I going to get VC valuation on it?
We used time delay reset on e-stops so that operators didn't just use e-stop instead od proper powe shutdown.
Have you seen the Bladestop technology? Hotdogs on the tablesaw make for a powerful demo

@haughty quiver No audio

Just waiting for the knowledge to be spared out No sound
Audio is good now.

And the occasional lip reading practice channel.
Good afternoon

Morse code!
Good for Morse code tablature
then why it need USD
it could be fancy for doom keyboard button to launch doom and open the browser for that doom from the device
what a crazy keyboard, JP!
Is there a site to find old games in portable / tiny format? Personally after an old copy of Lemmings
oh legitimate ROM purchases, I wasn't aware of such things (except indy games).
Yeah I'll try to string something together to explain the windows powershell gibberish
some could not simply put Lars-Doom address to connected device browser what is running in keyboard
sound now
No sound

Thanks JP
Thanks JP!

thanks all, time to straighten out some microphone!

Scott Joplin, naturally
@haughty quiver thanks for the Playground project shoutout. Looking forward to seeing how your USB keyscan code thing evolves. It's exciting to see more happening with MAX3421E USB host support. Also, if you happen to run across USB devices that send a USB NAK (such as wireless gamepad adapters that are waiting to get a radio message from the gamepad), the new tinyusb 0.17.0 release may work better than earlier versions.
aloha
👋
greetings all
Hi all 😁
you need to prop up the cable so the signal is better supported
heyhey
hey all. quick question scott, you mentioned the ikea dirigible hub supporting matter now, does that mean their devices require the ikea hub still and then circuitmatter devices would share that hub, or is it that circuitmatter devices could act as a hub for ikea devices. The former right? Or neither 😄
Hi Scott. Matter is really useful.
ah thanks, so their devices are zigbee for now
I just got a Raspberry Pi AI kit and I'm working on using it for face detection for the art project I'm involved with on. It's going to be really interesting in this context.
so each hub contacts some registry to check if test device or CSA approved?
oh wow :S
funding is always a challenge
both that they want to close so many schools and the fact that infrastructure is that brittle is absurd
chains of trust, got you
esp. in Seattle where like every 3rd person works in tech
FOI action?
open source gov funded deep dives would go down well for all
I feel you, it feels like there are so many extremly low hanging fruits to just make these small things better if someone would just let you
its very similar in Germany where Gov often still relies on Fax machines
Doctor's here (Canada) at least still use Fax so much
is windows 97 like an Access database ?
ugh yea and then the solutions that do come around are somehow worse in some way lol
Borland C++ or something written in native Windows APIs / UI and such
is the debug prints from the "device" side ? ( plus error messages from host? ) - I forgot what the other side is?
thanks - glad you have some debug from both sides
is there a way to merge the two streams? ( e.g. to match up the two nines? )
I was thinking like a 'diff' algorithm - or a unittest type of response vs. expected response
what about having your pc talk to another implementation - to see what other 'devices' respond with
so right now you are relying on just the documentation/ specifications and your implementation of it ?
and since others have implemented from the spec - one should be able to trust the spec hopefully 🙂
Late high from Costa Rica.
what repository is ListParser.cpp in ?
fede2 have you get new riscv things
certainly isn't very helpful message 'invalid tlv type" - does it point to the data coming in
it would be nice for it to help you sync up to the elements that were valid ( to help find the invalid type)
what does the spec say about ff control bytes
Thanks Scott, have a nice weekend.
Thanks Scott. Have a great weekend and good luck with the Seattle schools.

Good afternoon all!
curse of the live demo strikes again
One Web workflow bonus I found was a scrollable REPL.
MacOS Terminal seems to not allow an active repl session to scroll
weird, that's not been my experience
MacOS Terminal does have a bug where long-running windows lose their scrollback, perhaps you're running into that?
Thanks @haughty quiver
Thanks JP!
Thanks JP
It's disapears for me
thanks everyone!
Yeah that's messed up for sure. I would try opening up a new Terminal window and trying again. Here's my experience
Weird, maybe I've messed up something in my settings somewhere.
I've seen a long-standing bug in Terminal where if a window is open for long enough, its scrollback doesn't work. Haven't characterized it more than that, if it's time-based or lines-based
so I go back and forth between Terminal and iTerm2
I'll close things up and try again, thanks!
super frustrating! hope you find a solution
[SOLVED] - 2 issues
Terminal > View > "Hide Alternate Screen" to prevent cutoff
And
Terminal > Settings > Profile > Keyboard > Uncheck "Scroll Alternate Screen" to scroll page rather than cursor input.

It looks like you have a switch in a lego mount too, is that a sneak peak or not to be released?

Have you ever wondered if Baby Brain can be fatal?
haha PT excellent Shining nod
love the skull shirt in that photo
@haughty quiver i tried to tell our younger employees about the shining movie and many never heard of it
so i had to talk about it here and show what i was talking about "no really, there is a movie like this and there is this one thing.." blah, blah, ok phil!
🙂
"This image shows an unusual and surreal manipulation of a person's head. The odd aspect is that there are two faces, but instead of being on separate heads, one smaller head is attached at a strange angle to the side of the larger head's neck. This gives the impression of a two-headed person, but in a non-realistic, digitally altered manner. The smaller head is a duplicate of the larger one, and both faces appear to be of the same person, adding to the surreal effect. The image likely uses photo-editing techniques to create this unnatural look." -- chatgpt
"Ah, baby brain! In this case, it seems to have taken a whole new form—literally sprouting a second, smaller version of their head! Let’s dive into the symptoms and complications of this, clearly very serious and scientific condition:
Symptoms of "Baby Brain" (in this particular case):
-
Random Goo-Goo Gaga Moments: Mid-conversation, the smaller head might suddenly start babbling nonsense, causing extreme confusion at work meetings or family dinners.
-
Uncontrollable Nap Urges: The smaller head occasionally shuts down into nap mode, leaving the larger head to carry all the mental workload. Multitasking becomes a hilarious struggle!
-
Dual Snack Preferences: While the larger head craves a sensible salad, the baby brain demands mashed bananas and cheerios, leading to some peculiar lunchtime combos.
-
Memory Meltdowns: Forgetting important adult things like keys, passwords, or what day it is, while the baby brain hyper-focuses on cartoon jingles and stuffed animals.
-
Involuntary Cute Faces: When the baby brain takes over, spontaneous pouting and wide-eyed wonder can pop up, even in completely inappropriate situations, like boardroom presentations." -- chatgpt again
I recall seeing something about DMX over USB… I have plans
daisy chained like SCSI
Oh no, it looks like baby brain has evolved into a full-blown kaleidoscopic cranial crisis! The symptoms appear to be multiplying exponentially, quite literally.
…
Potential Complications: …
Excessive Peek-a-Boo Echo: With so many faces involved, a single game of peek-a-boo now echoes back infinitely. Good luck ever getting out of that game—it’s never-ending now! -- still chatgpt
ahahah

JP hasn't found a tv he didn't like lol
Not curdside?
audio is clipping a little every so often
cheese react this man
I'm a little concerned how much time curbside he might be spending
dodgy pot?
audio gone... now it's back... now it's cutting in and out
Yep. The audio's cutting in and out.

Cut pot
Yikes! JohnParkCeption.

Lol
So many TVs
It must be fun living in SoCal.
Next episode of the workshop will be a CRT intervention session.
Here in the UK all we get is fly tipping. 🙄
John's workshop is starting to look like a NASA command center...
DEVO pressed - we are not men
we never saw a finder window
Can't see it, @haughty quiver
think the preview hasn't been pushed to stream, can't see fullscreen finder window

Audio’s working now.
Maybe there's cheese in the mixer. 😄
'Will JP thwart the crafty criminal capers rocking California? To find out, tune in next week - same Park time, same Park channel!'
Could be mice. I guess Lars isn't doing his job.
What the hex?
FYI big list of HID codes in chapter 10 of this PDF: https://usb.org/sites/default/files/hut1_5.pdf
Cool pink keyboard. Cherry blossom?
Was just wondering
Add the pepper's ghost trick you'd have a HIDHUD
Mouse tremor?
If you want some example code for similar stuff in CircuitPython instead of Arduino, I've tried messing with HID reports for a numpad and it worked fine
byte 0 is modifier keys, byte1 is always reserved I think, bytes 2-7 are keycodes
Pink keyboard, pink cables... You'd think Big Clive has paid a visit.
galaxy keyboard galaxy cable
JP, you are right that the modifier byte is a bitfield, where different bits represent different modifier keys
this is pretty understandable https://wiki.osdev.org/USB_Human_Interface_Devices#Report_format

Very cool!
Ooo lala, curved!
the Zenless Zone Zero monitor wall
When in doubt, Spudge it. 😀
Next time, use an angle grinder. 😄
lars soon get angle grinder and start cut some metal
Lars with a angle grinder? Doesn't bear thinking about...
DC is fairly typical for a computer monitor, no?
My TV runs on 18V DC. Or at least it did. It's dead now, so it's now a candidate for this project. 👍
soon andy make wall monitor wall
I'm watching on a monitor that runs on AC, so clearly there's no firm rule 😄
Yep. My two monitors here are AC.
andy have you seen diy perks huge iphone
Yep. That was awesome.
@haughty quiver Brightness control?
'Today on Reverse Engineering with John Park...'
Lol
I didn't even know there were non-AC desk monitors
sorry meant AC
