I think the trial by fire is really the biggest piece of this, it makes it really unapproachable for someone to gear up after a couple lms games, run to 304 altar cuz there’s nobody pking elsewhere and have to fight purespam/dino/westham and that lot. It’s just inherently not friendly to learning

I’ve been having the exact same discussions for like 6-7 months even including in the old sailing discord itself, and for sure I had to just block some idiots, but I never faced as many disparaging comments as I did in this discord. Most of those guys were all just down to discuss stuff as well as jmods even.

I will say, WOW has nailed its player owned housing.

That 1 aspect has been a god send for casuals

not something i care for, but it has been a drastic improvement for people who do enjoy that stuff (which is a vast majority of the player base)

Garrisons were stupid as hell, but the housing system they got now is crazy good.

Garrisons was kind of like the kingdom of misc were you show up daily, farm some materials, do daily quests ect. it just got old.

player owned housing right now is just a fully customizable system which you can create all kinds of stuff out of different assets in the game.

and best part is it has no impact on raiding/m+ and you dont need to partake in it, if you dont want to.

Im hoping for the team who did player housing to start working on the classes, because classes are swamp ass.
