What do people think could make emir's a popular pvp thing similar to ranked in many other games? I'm not a seasoned pvper but I've always wanted to get into it, LMS just doesn't interest me. I thought multiple player brackets (1v1, 2v2, 5v5, mass?) may be a cool addition.

I dont think ranked pvp has any place in the game seeing how dead pvp is these days, with an already tiny pker population there are even fewer who are keen to participate in that mode. Strong reward bait is the only thing that would entice a large amount of people to participate and make additions like multiplayer brackets work but that wont ever happen, even cosmetics from it didnt pass a poll. The whole thing was a waste of dev time from the start

I don’t know why runescape would be fundamentally different to other mmos where you have reasonable PvP scenes unless the combat itself doesn’t play well to PvP. I don’t think only focusing on rewards (in terms of useful in-game items for other content) is a healthy way of developing PvP either.

The current chain of progression for wildy pking for a solo I believe is usually LMS -> hunt bots -> start fighting other pkers in low risk. Bots are decent practice since they are plentiful and also good money.

Yeah I think the element of risk and being able to make gp is why. In some scenarios its really impossible to lose money - for reference I would farm zombie pirates bots some time ago for a cool 5M/hr while risking like 500k max?

If multi pking interests you, joining a team/clan along your journey also makes the process of learning a lot more fun and engaging. There'll probably be somebody in there thats decent enough willing to guide you along, plus you get to make friends and kick ass together

Mmmmm I guess thats the way it is. I always like the idea of a more structured pvp ranked thing. Probably only better in concept if it hasn't taken off.

The main point being, I want to pvp but my primary account is an iron and cbf making a main. Would be nice to pk in 1v1 or small group without having to sub and build up another account

I quite like Osrs PvP and as much as I don’t play it much atm I want to actually see it be good and get updates that aren’t shallow and dead content on release

I would suggest making a baby pure to start. Its effortless to make a new build now with gemstone crab, a few days worth of progress and you'll have a decent account ready to pk. Eventually you can fund your own memberships with the gp you pk

They would have to fix matchmaking! Right now there’s no punishment for getting a match & bailing. I’m not sure how it helps, as getting rank increases the amt of points you get..
In the clan world they have discords for 5v5’s but it’s mostly maxed pures who participate in it & it’s kind of “end game” content

IMO it’s the hunt. Everyone on Reddit wants a “fair” 1v1. But reality is the thrill of never knowing what you could find in the wild is the thrill for most who engage

its a place of unique agency and RP, a sandbox within a sandbox in the mmo. For example, it has arguably created the most notorious villain of all MMOs (ROT). In the wilderness rules can be negotiated between players(another reason pj timer change was bad - took away agency). You can't do that in Emir's arena.

Won't be hard at all, if you want to spend the least amount of time - just log on for the breaches and try to hit the 5k daily point cap from breaches. Make some gp and buy return sets in case you get pked so you can regear quickly and go back to farming the breach monsters.

Yeah for the multi bosses, bot owners will simply adapt and bot diaries on their accounts before sending them - it doesn't really change much. Hard diaries are a tougher restriction for the single variants and might be less enticing to bot? Sucks that Callisto got the same diary treatment, it was the best group boss out of the 3. Was good group content for noobs.

Dying to random " prod" specs is apart of runescape pvp as it has ALWAYS been. That will never change so it MUST be accepted if you participate in it. It doesn't however mean the Voidwaker can be nerfed a little as hitting so hard with a 1 tick weapon is a bit obnoxious as was the Korasi sword. We really dont need the max to be so bloody high which is the real problem and why everyone uses it

Take my profile image for example.. thats me stacking a voidwaker into a gmaul which is too damn easy to do in this game , and the accuracy or damage should be nerfed. Ags is MUCH harder to land a big spec as its less accurate against melee armor and much slower than a voidwaker..

Id love to see the AGS return as KING. Especially since everyone uses Nox Halberd with Voidwaker and sometimes will also carry an AGS to prevent doubles with VW in brid fights

That’s aight gear wise, I’d say bring more like 6 brews at least to start though

Considerably less hard food and more brews.
I bring 3-4 hard food TOTAL.
I would also reccomend arkhan blade. and going for Fremmy boots.
Also instead of backpack swap put your shield there like a black d'hide shield. And replace your currently equipped shield with a book of darkness.

You can set the glory to a 1 tick teleport by shift right clicking it and setting to edgeville so you could place a brew or mithril/adamant seeds in said slot.
If you're not going to wear a neitz rune will be fine but its gonna hella lower your magic accuracy.
Also a ranged black d'hide top switch for tanking, and obv bolting.
