Community makes the game a lot more fun. Plus, you get to share your goals with others and find motivation for account progression. Clans often host events to help with this too, and it all around makes the game a lot more fun!

Not typically. Some clans may have some requirements you have to meet. You may just be limited content wise of what you can do with the clan, but you can always buy membership in game via bonds too once you start making more GP
