Big ass LERX
I do want a late cold war fighter design, inside and out
ok I'm gonna make it simple
- What new game mechanics would this bring
- How is this unique from every other suggestion
- What would make Baha want to create this
- What would make player want to use this
- What would make players enjoy this
@runic goblet
But there are rules, rules are meant to be followed?
like there is an FAQ and read first page.
Bro. it ain't that deep. Leave the Moderation to the mods
It just seems like people's go to reply to a new aircraft suggestion. If Baha doesn't like it, he can reject the suggestion and we can move on
if there's no information given to the suggestion and it's just "add this plane pls" with no extra information then it should be auto denied by what you're saying

"new features when"
"what new thing will this bring to the game"
Literally no discussion can take place unless people talk to each other, without jumping to the "READ THE RULES AND FAQ BUDDY!"
It’s not really a scene he’s just talking it’s discord not a super market
I'm just jumping straight to the chase with this, asking what this would do to stand out from the FA26, T55, EF24, AH94, AV42, F45
and from the dozen aircraft suggestions there are
I still stand by if the asf-58 wasn’t in the game a su-57 style aircraft would work
but sure a mog29 would be fun, but what would it bring to the table? would it just be the plane and use the same missiles and bombs as everyone else?
People shit on unique new feature suggestions anyway
I'd love to see variation of existing craft, rather than new ones
I would love to see new content added to existing aircraft, yeah
The F-26 needs a redesign
Preach 🗣️
An older style cockpit, a less forgiving flight control system that’s more manual
It would be a lotttt more fun to fly than the perfect 1g trim aerodynamically stable aircraft
Plus we have no flyable redfor or Russian inspired aircrsft
A MiG 29 inspired aircraft would be fun to fly
The playable aircraft in VTOL are all western based anyways, without mods, I don't think we'll ever see a non- NATO style aircraft
If it has to be western something that would be unique and that follows this could be like an f104 I guess?
Kinda a shitty suggestion but you could make it have insane speed or something
I dunno I just want an older style plane
But that’s not rlly this games style
EF24

F104 was a death trap
Was
it claimed more lives of its own than it claimed of its enemies
Im talking mach 2.5 with weapon load shit
was because they stopped using it as soon as a replacement came out
yeah..? ef24
It does not hit mach 2.5 easily with weapons and fuel
was because this game takes place in a futuristic universe
i don't think the point of a low tech plane/CW plane is the point
the point is more hands on required, less automation, worse weapons
Not in the suggestion but I was responding to
this
That sounds like low tech...
less advanced FLCS and such
yeah
id don't think the 104 would be the best basis for it tho
F-4 makes most sense
true I guess but I dont know how you would make an f-4 that unique compared to other aircraft
We've already got an EW aircraft
it being low tech not enough ?
Maybe??
Idk depends on how low tech but then it wouldn't be feasible to use anywhere except for fun unless it had a gimick
the whole point would be the low tech, it would indeed be inferior to the other jets, just like how the 45 is superior
Honestly, if it were a full analog cockpit MiG-29 analog, I'd love to see it in VTOL
Especially a Fulcrum-like aircraft with western armament
Yes, I know the second image is from Ace Combat, and a Flanker, but the idea is still there
The Fulcrum is one of my dearest most favorite non-US aircraft
I'd love to see it become a direct competitor to the 26B
I say keep it as a light fighter
Meh, a MiG-21 would make more sense as a light fighter for playable redfor
The MiG-29 is a multirole interceptor with rudimentary ground attack capability.
I'd say the major thing it could bring to VTOL is IRST
Maybe mix a little bit of flanker in there too then if it
it's supposed to compete with the wasp
I need to learn how to use blender so I can make stuff like this
The problem is having a group of people that care enough to see one idea in-game, let alone all 1,000 ideas we have all come up with in the last how many years for VTOL
We fr could make a new game purely off suggestions
If there was something a lot of people wanted to see and enough of us had free time and motivation, we could focus on one popular idea first and try to get that added
Or a couple new ones at this rate.
Time to break out one of my year+ old models in Blender and rework it
defo round out the nose just a little bit
Well if it's VTOLified, it has to be semi-futuristic, but yeah, I'm working on redoing the nose and wings and intakes and the whole thing.
I've learned a lot by modeling the past year or so since I did this one
Yeah, I know the intakes are still very boxy and the engines are spread just a bit too far apart to be a complete MiG-29 replica, but it's a more mixed flanker/fulcrum type mix than replica
People want a low tech 26? This is as close as we get without it being a 26
And redfor people get a happy medium between a flanker and what we have already
Ish
See now I’m invested in this suggestion
Fucking perfect
Get this piece of shit on a payroll for this game right now
third party module making for VTOL ?
I'm working on a western mig 29, I'll send it when I finish it
Sick
it’s supposed to be low tech
???
What are you talking abt
Low tech as in late Cold War stuff like the mig29 and su27
Thrust vectoring takes a fuckkkk ton of engineering
What???
Warthunder forum ass mf
TVC has only been really popular since the very late 80s
My design is not touching thrust vectering in the slightest, I'm tempted to add canards but I'm not sure
I figured we already have a delta canard as the F-45 fits that bill
The su35 had canards, j don’t see a problem with it
No it doesn’t
The Su-30 does, and Su-33 too
The Su-35 doesn’t though
fuck su 30
I was thinking non moving canards, like the ones on the kfir
Interesting idea, I think they’d look silly on a flanker derivative
It's based off a mig 29 though
I actually kinda like it, when I left off yesterday I was redesigning the nose
It's also going to be larger than a mig 29
I like my other design too. The nose had strakes the whole way up like a mini-YF-23 nose
I forgot to take screenshots of that one
Ok, if you can make something that describes it I might use that
I’m away from my PC on Christmas vacation this week, I’ll be back at it sometime soon
I fw this design
See this is the thing. Adding a mig-29 (or any eastern style aircraft for that matter) would bring a very cool dynamic to the game that doesn’t exist as of now in terms of pvp. There are options to fight like the su-57 style fighter, but it isn’t flyable. It would bring a new experience to the game, due to the difference in Russian and American engineering, and it would make it easier to expand combat expectations when fighting against real players. Again, eastern engineering prioritizes different things than western engineering, and it would be a very cool factor to see in-game, along with different weapons that introduce new gameplay standards. I do understand we already have the T-55/FA-50, but it’s a single engine trainer that is not really up to par in BVR with aircraft like the EF-24 of FA-26. The contrast between aircraft would greatly improve the dynamic of air-to-air combat for Players and I think that is very important, fighting aircraft from the same team as you is boring (e. EF-24 vs. F-45). Fighting a western style jet in something like a mig-29 would greatly reduce this issue, and would make the experience of BVR and BFM combat a lot more enjoyable in the long run.
^When I say EF-24 vs. F-45 I mean they are both heavily based on American built fighters
This request clearly does not combat any rules mentioned in the FAQ?? The FAQ literally says you can request playable aircraft

Again; what new gameplay features would this add?
Like what would make this plane completely different from the FA26B, like what would this plane do that the others can’t?
Like sure this would add a new cockpit design, but that’s about it, there’s nothing really too unique about that in terms of gameplay mechanics, like the EF24 brought advanced electronic warfare, the AH94 brought rotary wing, the F45 brought stealth, the AV42 was the first plane and it brought vertical take off and landing, the FA26B brought multirole and proper air to air combat, the T55 brought liveries and was the first fixed wing multicrew
I’d honestly rather have Baha spend a time making a aircraft that does something completely unique that other aircraft can’t in terms of gameplay mechanics
Quality > Quantity
I just don’t see what would make baha want to add the mig29 as a reskinned fa26b? In the FAQ he stated he hopes that all aircraft he adds bring new gameplay elements and mechanics to the game, along with that the aircraft should be mostly fictional
In my eyes this would just be an FA26B reskin
-IRST
-mid range fox-2
-passive radar homing AAM
-eastern style cockpit and systems
-articulated gun pods
-true thrust vectoring
None of these would make it drastically different from a 26.
It certainly wouldn’t be as new and unique gameplay as some other potential aircraft
which is why is should be far from a priority
new aircraft in general shouldn’t be priority imo
you have an idea on what else he could do even? there's tactical bombers but im pretty sure you were clear that you didn't want them and ASW which would'nt really work if it was the only thing it could do it would have to function as a strike fighter also, and IRST
