modelling clay is oil based so the colours smear on eachother where they touch, and if you push hard they stick together a lot too... so small pieces that are pressed together hard that are very different colours have no hope of not contaminating eachother if you try to pull it apart again. It ends up all full of bits if you ignore it

i imagine a lot of people just dont reuse clay at all except kids lol

it's really really good for a free and open source software, heavely recommend it. it's not taking up space if you want to use it ! I suggest starting with some doodles, some cool brushes, the interface is a little intimidating but once you get it you can create stuff like this !
