this is a little bit #🤔｜theories but i always thought considering mr owl's note to mr crow in the mill saying he is specifically sending crow the body of the young woman, the fact that laura is related to mr crow and mr owl doesnt really know her significance, and mr crows presence through the background noise of roots, laura's importance is just as much mr crow's meddling to try to keep his family alive and she is part of his focus, while mr owl himself is only really focussed on dale and doesnt really consider laura important
