Since the dog stopped aging i imagined it stayed at the lake 'protecting' the Vanderboom house; evne after it was left empty [since everyone either passed away or left] he still lives in the now empty Vanderboom house that's stuck in time [Aldous and the hotel staff check on him though].

He spends his free time hunting for food and just idling about the lake [maybe he greets any lost wanderes to 'safety'] uh unrelated but i headcanon his name is Maxiums.

Unlike people that played in the order or release, I played all Cube Escape games first. So for me, it was just a random dog in a Cave that I feed with a human arm and used its poop to make a random liquid 💀💀
After playin Hotel, I bought Roots :) Didnt knew what to expect tho.. But when I saw that baby dog, I was like "Oh my God, it is you again! Hello littel buddy!" And then, after James dies and the Dog not, my mind still didnt noticed what that meant 😭 I only realized later after playin the Cube Escape Collection that the Dog was there cuz he drank the Elixir so it would make sense for its dna to have some kind of Elixir remains 😭😭😭

I'm playing Rusty lake roots. I solved the puzzle in the episode called Checkmate. Albert's brain went up in the air, but I forgot to pick it up. When I went back to get it, there was no brain. Frank was sitting invisibly. And I can't move the knight again because there are x's all over the chessboard. I'm playing on mobile. There is no option to restart the chapter. I don't want to play the game all over again because it's almost over.

Case 23 was the 5th entry into the Cube Escape franchise and introduced the fan favourite and dearly beloved detective Dale Vandermeer. In the game you play as Dale investigating the mysterious Death of a woman. Working his way through burning paintings, drinking coffee and a chapel full of puzzles Dale eventually finds himself well and truly entangled with The Lake.

My favorite puzzle in case 23 was in the 2nd chapter the part when u need to use the marker to find the channel! It was pretty hard, but also pretty fun!
I think he became a detective because of what happened in Birthday, and wanted to know why.
Probably the other cases were him trying to understand why he was having dreams with rabbits with guns, idk lol
I think Dale is a pretty good character, (thats one of the reasons he is one of my favorites lol) and has a great story, and Case 23 was a great way to introduce him!

Personally I think Dale became a detective because of the murder of his family. That had to have left a deep impression of him as a young boy, and I doubt the killer was ever originally found so that would also stoke the "get the justice and closure for others I never got"

aw I like case 23, it felt distinct from the other ones for its noir feel. the timed segment scared me at first ( it especially felt a lot more gory than the rest of the games though I played paradise after and it was even worse lol ) then it became fun ! I liked the fire puzzle and everything else, wondeful game. my favourite puzzle would probably be the map one, it was so fun to overlay the map and the marker and get it right ! Dale probably became a detective because it's a job you can hunt down killers and perhaps he wanted revenge, or maybe he liked the word detective lol. cases 1-22 were probably all of the lost socks in the drawer ( how do they keep disappearing ? mystery )

Upon arrival at the scene the box was found open with a strange assortment of items within, including a human finger. My favorite puzzle has always been the bookshelf puzzle for some reason, it feels very satisfying in a way And I do believe that the events of cube escape birthday was what led him to become a detective!!1 I like to imagine that his prior cases had some part of it that is drawn to the lake in some way.
