I also had this bug. When I played the game for the first time, after the trumpeter playing a melody, you could immediately click to make an object pop out of the trumpet. But the second time I played the game, he played a melody and then I had to press the down arrow, wait a while for a sound like something was stuck in there, and only then could I interact

you just need to be able to communicate with each other via a call or close proximity
and you give each other directions from there
just make sure you pick the right game modes, the game will tell you what to do in the set up

Haha Cube Escape is a series of games set within the Rusty Lake universe
the game company and the world all the stuff happens is in "Rusty Lake"
so the series as a whole would be better described as "Rusty Lake" but within are a subset of games called "Cube Escape"
I guess eventually there may even be a point where non Cube Escape games outnumber the Cube Escape games!
