unfortunately most maps have those. there are some more open maps, like sainte marie du mont or el alemein (not so much anymore but still). you can get places faster by just following the roads but watch the ground for mines in the mid or end game at least

Those option are just for matchmaking, which isnt a thing on the PC versions of the game. We PC players "only" got the Server launcher / the enlist option.

In some matches I don't even see the enemy they are so far away.
But they can accurately shoot me with what seems to be an automatic rifle (multiple shots - no reloading in between) and pretty much hit the target each time.
How do they do that? Is there some rifle with a scope or something?

Spotting enemies can be difficult, and you should accept that you will not be able to spot everyone. Especially stationary targets. You should move around the map with that in mind; Don't just use your eyes to determine whether an enemy is there, but also look at where the rest of your team is and isn't on the map. Listen for gunfire, and apply map knowledge to predict where an enemy might be. Anticipating where to look and when to slow down not only helps you survive, it can help you spot others more easily.

Having a higher resolution monitor is of significant help also, as it allows you to see more precisely at a distance.

The foliage can be deceptive. A lot of foliage will stop rendering so long as you move far enough away from it, which can lead to instances where you believe you are in cover, when from their perspective you're not. There's also always the chance someone has an elevated position, allowing them to see down through the foliage, which is easier than it sounds.

As for how people can be so accurate - that is mostly just a matter of mechanical skill. Obviously there's some weapons which do not work very well at range (i.e. SMGs), but with enough recoil control, a skilled player can pump out shots with an M1 Garand or Gewehr 41, or even with the STG44 or BAR if you tap fire. And then there's the MGs too, which can be laser beams even at the longest ranges while mounted.

Sniper and spotter can only be used in the recon squad. It work exactly as it does with tank and infantry. Each squad type got their own classes.

If you want to play a game as recon I recommend you take a friend and as soon as the round starts you make the squad. There are only 2 recon squads per team, each with an own spotter (who also is the squad lead) and sniper.

Playing recon with randoms can be tricky, because most people only want to snipe. 😅

Not exactly, there are infantry, tank and recons squads. Only the recon squad got the spotter and sniper. Because its a 2 man squad the person making the squad always is spotter, the person joining in always is the sniper.

Again it depends on the squad type.

I recommend you watch a YT tutorial, there are a ton of good ones out there who explain it better than I can typing on my Phone.

This is a bug specific to the PC Xbox version of the game. Far from ideal, but you could probably work around it by manually changing the mouse sensitivity entry in the config file. Hopefully the next update resolves the issue.

Am i the only one that finds playing on a server with 30 v 30 seeding rules and a Semi annoying ish Commander exhausting and frustrating?

I was Officer on Surmainte village night only allowed to defend/attack middle point

And they used stuff against the rules like Arty and Recon Bcus of the seeding rules and our commander just keeps saying “put down garrisons” after we already had 8 that were all strewn about in a 5 grid radius nowhere close to the point

We also only were allowed defensive Garrisons

Thems be the rules.

Most servers have bots set up to auto kill and kick repeat offenders. Got nothing to do with admin.

The whole reason for the rules is to avoid steamrolls whilst trying to seed the server.

My main question is how come a lot of people don't like playing the squad leader position?

Sometimes it's a lot of pressure, since you're dealing with your own squad... while also having to communicate with the other squad leads and commander.

Also you trying to cooridnate your team... yet JimBob the machine gunner is off doing his own thing, attacked the next point, while you designated your squad as a defense team.

Another thing that can be annoying is having 2 sets of radios in your ear - you have to filter both command chat and your squad chat simultaneously.

Anyone looking to get into SL position regularly - adjust your command chat volume lower than your squad. That way they don't conflict with each other as much

It would be cool to have mono radio options. So you can have command chat in right ear, then your squad in your left ear for example

CODMW2 and Overwatch. Took a long break from gaming. Getting back into it. Now playing Clair Obscur and Ghost of Tsushima (maybe not relevant, but parrying/timing mechanic) and I'm into FromSoftware titles, so not opposed to "difficult" games, even if this type is new to me.

Don't play this like MW2 or any Battlefield or CoD title

Here, one shot usually kills and you gotta pay close attention to your surroundings

Try to memorise weapon sounds, move from cover to cover, if you get shot at in the open, keep running and don't stop like a deer in the headlight (makes it just easier for the enemy), scan your surroundings for enemies before moving

And most importantly, COMMUNICATE

Use that mic and talk with your team mates

You are on PC, that's good because people tend to communicate more there compared to console (I think). If people don't answer back at you, don't give up, just keep trying to talk to your team mates until people answer you.

Communicating in this game is like 50% of the experience; it makes your playstyle more efficient and it's also a great way of having team mates help you learn the game

Try being a solo locked squad so you can make your own OP. You'll also hear all the important stuff on command chat, what really matters. Like whenever people complain about lack of garris, no defense, no nodes, enemy tanks not being marked, airheads not called out, squads not having support or AT, etc... You can help with all of these, and they're required for victory (unless the enemy team is silly). Attacking the enemy is just the icing on the cake, and victory happens almost on its own when all the "tasks on the map" are done. If every squad does their share, then nobody has to worry about it. Go to Channels And Roles at the top left of the chat list on the left and select PC gamepass

Do not play officer in locked squad as a new player. The command radio is not the place to learn the game. New players asking a million questions over command radio is slowing down the game for everyone else, being a mute officer is not good either. The learning should be held inside the units. Start as rifleman, have some fun and let your officer/unit answer the questions. Learn the roles by watching team mates how they play. When you are warm in your clothes try learn the useful roles such as engineer or support and follow your officers orders/help the team. Try officer later when you have an overall understanding of the game. Theres a reason there is level cap on commander and officer on many servers. Although learning is welcome, we all want a good time and good play. Learning inside units is therefor the best way for the team 🙂

They can handle it. Just listening and observing the map is enough to get used to all the noise, and they wont hurt anyone. 2-3 riflemen in my squad not taking support or AT because of fear is worse.

I dont mean that they should do it all the time, but they should try it at least once and see what's going on

jumping into a squad that happens to have a poor OP just gets them slaughtered.

Infantry: 6 man squad, a lot of walking and somewhat the normal gameplay of a teamshooter
Tanks: 3 man squad, a mic is required otherwise just dont do it and you can use the big guns
(we are getting a tank rework tomorrow so thats gonna be improved soon)
Recon: 2 man team of Spotter and Sniper, kill arty, destroy nodes and garrisons and in general be a menace.

Satchel is insta kill and rockets, hit the butt and you'll be able to kill it cause if you hit the sides, it'll hit the tracks / bounce off and front will never pin cause its the thicker part of armour. But for recon tanks, hit them anywhere.

Usually the machine gunner is doing "his own thing" focusing on locating the best spot where he is the most useful for the whole team by suppression or spawncamping or what not. But maybe hold on to the defence/attack focus atleast depending on where your officer wants you.

I had a lot of fun playing officer, using my binoculars and pinging for my MG 😀 Thats useful on maps like El alamein where there is lots of open spaces. But often the officer do not got time to ping for mg but in moments its really effective!

Wkm is a community server modification. It searches the servers log book of kills for the most recent one you are a victim of. They don’t have access to distance information and definitely cannot construct a replay

How long are the matches? Is HLL like a 24/7 server? I can't imagine this plays in like 30 minute matches?
How does it play in comparison to for example Battlefield? Is it just, a bigger field?

In comparison to battelfield the maps are bigger and its far more walking, also the time to kill is really short 1-2 hits are enough with most weapons close range.

Rifleman or assault for the first couple hours are good.

As for sniper - yes, only 2 per team, as there are only 2 recon squads which compose of a sniper and a spotter.

If you get mid point, your 2nd point is locked, and their 2nd point open, since you're now defending mid point, they are defending their 2nd point.

You'd be of more use to him as a support though. You only have to drop the supply box where he wants it, it recharges every 5 minutes

Goal is most map control.
The black circle is hard point, while the 4 squares it's in is the soft point.

Hard point means heavier weight to the capture or defend.

If red took the next TWO blue sections,t hey win 100%

2. Outpost - 20 second timer, put down by your officer and ONLY your squad spawns on it.
3. Airhead - Commander ability, Parachuted spawn point falls from the sky and similar to garrison.

Ahhhh, its correct to count the separatly as they dont count into the Garrison count.

You stay and defend and kill.... you keep your point. If you kill everyone on their point and remove spawns, you are more likely to win that point.

Their spawns disappear within the open sectors, yeah. They can instantly rebuild OPs if their officers are smart, so you should watch out for a counterattack from behind in case some of their attacking officers backtrack rather than redeploying to the new defense before it's taken too. It takes 2 minutes to capture without any opposition. In warfare.

the capture zone is 400x400m wide in warfare though, so it's rare if the entire enemy team is missing for 2 minutes

Your capturing progresses if you have more cap strength than the enemy. Speed is always the same. One guy in the circle has 3x capture strength, so one guy in there will capture against 2 outside of it. You shouldn't focus too much on the circle though, they're usually more like a last stand. If your team is encircled within, the enemy will simply tear you to shreds with artillery, tanks, crossfire etc.

Well, if you can suddenly insert a lot of troops into the circle, it'll send the enemy into a panic. Not so easy to pull off though.

actually playing the objective
super nice and helpful and patient about the basics of the game
this might be one of the most hardcore shooters ive played so far, how are people so nice 😂

had a guy talking about how it took him 3 weeks to get his first kill
I just got 2 kills :3

try being an SL. tell everyone that you're new, stay alive, keep your OP up, hope that squadmates will help. 9 out of 10 losses happen because there's too many attackers, so simply patrolling around the defense point is a good start. you're outnumbered by the enemy soon enough

OP is free for any SL to build and works for the squad. You need 50 supplies for a garrison when it's in the blue, and anyone in your team can use it.
