What are the best things to do as a spotter/sniper? I managed to get the recon role then I literally spent an hour just screwing up the enemy supply trucks and spotting their garry with minimum kills (did die a lot during the progress of looking for their garry)

Some things to do just as an example are:

• champ arty
• destroy nodes
• Spam flares above the attack/defense hardcap
• spot and destroy garrison and tanks
• build backline garrisons with airdrops
• actively keep enemy armor marked

Just a few as examples, I surely missed some.

IRL yes, the weapon was indeed weaker, though some Churchill's equipped a weapon powerful enough to pen Tigers 1 chassis.

All depends if Arty is being used. Usually one recon team can handle them. I have had game where enemy isn't using Arty so I had free reign to not worry about it

Here’s your answer. Tanks are dumbed down for balance, each factions 600 fuel heavy tanks are equally effective against each other. Every heavy does the same damage to another heavy. The difference is aesthetic, handling, and scopes

A decent tank crew will be able to push further the Panther strong points than the Tiger ones, its angled chasis means it can be angled when peaking corners, its smaller turret means its harder to get a hit and it may nonpen due to volumetric, its also faster and can turn ungodly fast in the hands of a good driver, and it also has less bullet drop than the Tiger.

The Tiger however is a more defensive tank, as it can turn better at lower speeds, has more explosive range for infantry and the gun doesn't sway as much

In the end, it depends if you are in the attacking or defending

The short of it is that drivers have a lot more advanced tech available to them in tigers. A competent tiger driver is more mobile than a Panther driver

More agile maybe with the better maneuverability, but more mobile under no circumstance. The Panther is by far the best heavy in both top speed and acceleration, whilst the tiger has the same stats in as a Churchill in that regard.

its always better to do that and rip a 90 or 180 turn in .5 seconds than RP turn

Hello! I'm new here, and have been interested in playing Hell Let Loose for quite a while. Unfortunately I do not have the game quite yet as I am saving up money in order to buy the game, so while I wait to do that I want to ask if you have any advice for beginning players like me? What important tips should I know when joining the game for the first time?

-use your microphone (many people don't, but don't let that discourage you, be communicative and use your mic!)
-don't rush in, take it easy and play cautiously

Kind of? I have a headset, but the mic doesn't work due to it apparently being behind a paywall that I refuse to pay for. So for right now I need to save enough money to buy a new headset with a mic that does not have a mic under a paywall, and that is on top of getting enough money to buy the game. But if you want to talk on Discord I have my Air Pods connected to my pc through Bluetooth so we can talk that way.

Well, for starters, you can read through that reddit post as it seems at least one of the listed fixes worked for some people. Worth giving it a shot

And check in other games whether or not you can get it to show up as a input. Your usual, counter strikes, unturned, battlefield, CoD, or whatever you play that might also have voice communications in the game.

Fair enough. Well, if you're interested in some FPS' where you might have the chance to test out your mic...
I recommend you try Counter Strike, Team Fortress 2 and/or Unturned.
All of 'em are free and all have voice comms that you can use.

But chances are, if Discord doesn't find your input neither will they. So first google some fixes for why it doesn't show up on your inputs (assuming nothing from the reddit post helps)

Oh, you're playing The Isle at the moment. Right.

So, tanks in HLL are somewhat lackluster. There are three positions, driver, gunner and commander. Driver also operates the hull machine gun. Tanks are very basic because it works like "light tank 1 can't pen heavy anywhere because it's a light, medium tank 1 can pen a heavy tank only at the rear because it's a medium tank" and so on. It's even worse than World of Tanks. Furthermore, hitboxes of trees are often meh, resulting in tanks getting stuck and ending up unrecoverable.

If you wanna play realistic tanks, HLL might not be the game for you.

The best way to learn is to join community servers with level restrictions and stick with an officer who knows how to play.

Just by observing you will learn many things, try to do your part and follow the orders given to you.

Just stick to the roads and keep an eye out for trenches. FYI this games collision system is terrible so on some maps you can pass through fences and trees while on others you cannot so keeep that in mind

If you're ever wanting to accelerate your driving skills quickly, being commander does this dramatically fast and helps out the team also.

As a commander, it's generally best to drive around placing garrisons for most of the match - you get a crazy good score too!

You can do the same thing at the end of the game to one other player. It gives an extra 10% XP per commendation (so 2 in that is 20%, 3 in that is 30%, etc).

It was Road to Bastogne from N30 Highway which we were SO CLOSE TO wining.... we lost 2-3 because no one would defend 😭 My sniper and I were doing like EVERYTHING. Hello all, I am new to the game and I have a few questions. I have had the chance to play a few games and I am noticing my lack of aim when hitting targets at longer ranges with bolt action rifles. By any chance am I dealing with bullet travel time or bulletin drop off? Are there any moving targets in the practice range? I really need some practice hitting mobile targets at extreme ranges using my iron sights. If anyone has any tips, I would appreciate it. Also of note, I am not very good at FPS. I got this game because the immersion potential of the game is too good to pass up.

There is drop but its something that you can ignore on ranges below 200m.

No moving targets in practice range. The game has very little bullet drop. With an M1 grand your correction for drop will never be more than the radius of the sight picture. And at 99% of ranges if you shoot at the chest you will hit the chest or a slightly lower part of the chest. Bullet travel time is significant and at 100-200m ranges you will have to lead a body width or so

In general aiming for the leading edge of the target at center mass will solve your bullet drop and travel times for most engagements

I will give that a try. I am trying to stay at range of opponents because many players are quicker on the draw than I am at closer ranges. So far, if this was the Olympics, I would be the GOAT at catching bullets. I will keep practicing and perhaps find a role that I am suited to.

If you get revived in the same spot, you die again. Respawning off of OP is better because competent players will send it on different paths to feel out weaknesses in enemy defense.

You will never take ground with a revive based play style, because if the route is viable, it is better for the medic to ads and win the squad battle and wipe enemy ops, there is no time to revive

If the route isn’t viable, you will never get the op, and you and the medic will get chain farmed from 150m out

Getting revived slows your squads tempo and is a hindrance to finding and making meaningful pushes

Once you realize that OPs are the only metric that matters, and kills open the way to destroying ops, and revives do not have a positive impact on destroying ops, things make much more sense

Your point comes from a fundamental misunderstanding of how points are held and taken. If you need to defend a point, you will not succeed by turtling in hardcap. You must push out and remove the attacking ops to make a difference. Otherwise you are a bystander with no effect on the outcome of the match.

Like I pointed out, I’m not running into a field to revive someone that got gunned down. I’m picking dudes up that get popped by the team pushing and fall behind cover. If someone is respawning for a specific purpose, obviously don’t pick them up. But if you just spawned, and walk around the corner, and get dropped, wouldn’t you rather me be standing there to fix you in a few seconds rather than waiting another 20-30?

If we’re standing in a bunker and you get dropped, I pick you up, and we rotate around to some other cover. Simple

its not really a role you play all game for the bulding ability
you should build nodes ofc, eigther snatch a supply truck or switch between support and engie for that
if you want to fortify something you have to organzie that (or the commander/officer asks you to)
use voip to ask for supplies/trucks

building nodes by yourself tutorial:

• spawn as support, drop supplies
• respawn as engie, place all 3 blueprints (which are green:)
• respawn as support, hammer all nodes once to reset the timer then hammer the MANPOWER node (manpower node gives supply cooldown reduction)
• next supplies should be ready, hammer all nodes once then finish another
• now you have to wait 1 minute for supplies to be ready, finish the last node
  takes 5 minutes, you can build everywhere without a truck

building nodes with a truck: drive just over the 2nd line on the map, drop suplly box then walk back BEHIND the 2nd line and build nodes there, take truck back

I believe in HLL it's a visual suppression, it doesn't affect aim.
If you're MG, an enemy off to the side of your suppressing fire may not experience the same suppression, can locate you and take you out.

I think the best anti aliasing option is Community TAA with Desactivate or Standard Quality, not High or Epic, but you'll always have some difficulties to locate the ennemies

I was playing on Community TAA with it on Epic. My monitor is 1080p, so given the distance of these maps, it's really hard to see the enemies. I might deactivate antialiasing completely, I don't know. Or put a sharpening filter maybe, like all games do nowadays.

Take your time, be observant and look for movement and use smoke. And get used to the sound of the weapons bro. You can distinguish what weapon is firing by the sounds. I'm on Xbox myself and when I first played it, I thought it would be a wise choice to run into open field than I met a MG42 that was kind enough to kill me lol 🤣

1. Stay alive 2. Learn what guns sound like so you can instantly tell if there's enemies near you 3. Always look left and right 4. Never follow the herd, never bunch up. It only takes one enemy on arty to wipe out your entire bunched up team 5. Protect your tanks and they will protect you 6. Keep your squadlead alive and stay nearby so he can do what he wants to do 7. Let others die for you and figure out where the enemy is

Oh yeah don't be afraid to ping and give call outs on your mic, there maybe things you may spot that your Squad leader isn't aware of.

It's hit and miss. Either everyone talks too much, no-one talks ever, or people start talking only after someone says "hi"

Yeah it happens sometimes I'll talk but I talk when I need to, some people talk far too much and you can't hear yourself think.

Depends on the time and server. UK/US servers, when adults are off work on the weekends, should be the best bet

US is starting to get off work East coast (I just got off but I started 6:30 so 8 hours with half hour lunch is 3 central) so US will start to fill soon

I play EU and US because pings are fine even for EU

Unfortunate reality is that people at large do not know english or are not comfortable with it. I prefer US servers because I'd rather lose every time with a talkative squad than win with a team that might as well be bots.

There's always a lack of garrisons or AT guns, both require 50 supplies, and Support can drop 50 every 5 minutes. Lack of garrisons is THE flaw in most games people lose.

But even if you do play support you might have to scream at an officer and shoot his leg to get his attention

Always support and encourage your commander, no matter their level, no matter the overall result - it's not an easy gig
