If you already have entered or opened the game, just restart. Afterwards use the "Sync now" option in time and date settings on windows once 2-3 days before you enter HLL.

I agree also new players turn your name plate distance up so that way you ain't team killing people way out cuz you think they're an enemy that's happened to me so many times getting a good spot and get killed by a teammate because they think you're anatomy because your name don't pop up because you're too far away. If you don't have patience you'll have a hard time but this game will make you learn patience or you'll die a lot it's so much fun win or lose truthfully

where i come from in TF2, every extra player on the point increased cap speed, but with diminishing return... so the second player wouldnt double the cap speed, and the third player would increase the speed less than the 2nd, and so on... and a single player would block the capture regardless of the amount of people capturing, but the points were much more tiny and it would be impossible for capturing players to hide like they do in HLL

and also one mechanic in TF2 that could be interesting in HLL is how in TF2's "5 control points" mode, the middle point takes the longest to capture, while the 2nd point of either team takes much shorter, and the last point is the fastest to capture, making it so stalemates become rare

so from what i can gather, the 2nd/4th points would take half as much time to capture than the middle point in TF2, while the last point of either team would take a THIRD of what the 2nd point takes to capture, or a SIXTH of what the middle point takes to capture, depending on how you look at it

ah, well that really dpeends on wether you want the match to last as much as possible or wether you want to make it so capping the middle point can be pivoted into a succesful further offensive

in Hell Let Loose you can win by simply holding the middle point, which is not a thing in TF2, so perhaps TF2 has a bigger emphasis in chaining succesful attacks towards the enemy, with the first team to capture the middle point gaining a sort of "inertia" they can use to keep going

The thing is: If a team is steamrolling another team, theres probably a huge skill imbalance in the match.
It means a team is having a bad experience while they get steamrolled.

If you stretch out the game time you only make this bad experience last longer, i think it would be better to let the better team win and hope for a more balanced match next round

in TF2 the spawn system is SOMEWHAT similar to Hell Let Loose, but automatized... so you spawn from the very back of the map at the start of the match, and if you capture hte middle point you gain a "forward spawn" that lets you spawn a bit closer, and if you capture the enemy's second point you get a spawn even more forward. Those spawns are rolled back if the enemy captures back those points too. Its more automatized than HLL, you dont actually lose effort when you lose ground

So to summarize:
-If you own the middle point, you spawn in your second point
-If you own the enemy's second point, you spawn in the middle point

Top part is my squad's points, with my points right below, then screen shot of XP (because I was excited at almost 50k XP!) You can faintly see the +1747, which matches with the Squad's offensive score, not my offensive score. I don't know if this is from being Squad Lead or not.

It may be you do. I found an older screen shot - from August 202, that my squad got 2120, and at the bottom of the XP screen shot I have, it has a faint +2120 combat. (I was not an SL)

You can always test it out - see what your score and the squad's score is and watch the XP scroll by.

I lose all engagements that dont start with me getting the jump on the enemy. I dont mind accepting my bad aim and sneaking about but i rarely spot the enemy first. setup xbox one, cloud gaming. We've all been there at some point, listen for gunshots, and try to figure out what team's gun is making that sound.. and check the map often, which will often give you a sense where enemies will probably be at - from the direction friendlies are facing to garrisons that say enemy near. Once you combine all of those things you'll have a good idea where someone might be 9 out of 10 times

So three steps to buidling. BluePrints, supplies, Building. Blue prints Engineer places them (not garrisons or AT Guns). Supplies are palced by supply class or supply truck or dropped by commander. and lastly any class with a hammer cna actually build them.

Easiest start point is be engineer, ask squad lead for supply truck at HQ spawn. go drop them somwehre and build the nodes.

That's totally fine. My rifleman and assault are level 1 and 2. But I have level 10 commander, engineer, spotter, and squad lead/officer. Support is level 8, most the others are 3-6.

Its building a shader cache in the background with every new shader you encounter if you just installed for the first time. It will resolve itself.

two ways to play spotter, either not part of the main fight or part of the main fight.
often times advanced play for spotter will be spawning on opposite end of the cap points, and slowly making your way across the map with OP's so you and your sniper can flank points, or stop the enemy artillery

I only snag spotter when it loads on the next map, and it goes pretty quick. I play it to give folks a chance to play sniper (as long as you have a mic).

I honestly prefer spotter over sniper. Get the flare gun, take out nodes and garrisons, and call out vital information to the team (ie "[insert size] tank pulling out of mid spawn")

Not a problem! Flare does a circle (I think 100m? I could be wrong!) over wherever it's shot to (can do about 200m out). It is like the recon plane, but circle size, and pings twice unlike the single shot from the plane.

Shows the same thing as recon plane. Red dots is enemies, empty diamond is vehicle, full diamond is tank.

Nodes are for helping command with their abilities. They defaultly give +10 per minute to resources with 3 different nodes - munitions, fuel, manpower. If command uses an "Encourage" which doubles that for 5 minutes.

Engineers build nodes, and you can easily get XP to whatever class you switch to from engineer as long as those nodes stay up.

I like to be a spotter if u wanna be a sniper. I played my first 30 career ranks as a spotter and it widened my knowledge a lot, I think spotter is a very important class but that way u learn the most. Frequently talking to the commander being like a right hand man is top tier. U get a grasp of everything happening on the map other than at the front lines. The Sniper class is heavily dependent on callouts or just hiding in a perfect spot. Sniping is just killing, its not like you take out 3 guys and they won‘t know your location. As a sniper being patient is the most important. The experience will lead u to the perfect sniping points.

That experience will come when playing with competent spotters. So try to find a spotter friend most of the dudes joining really don‘t talk at all and its kinda not fun at all.

Yes in the beginning i wondered why I couldn‘t play sniper until I got so used to spotter and now I think perfecting the class of a spotter is peak. Sniping seems just too boring for me. Only thing I can imagine above that is a commander that is on comms with at least 5 Officers, that actually listen. 💀

Playing mg or medic too is useful because you can contribute to support with zero brain activity (mindlessly shooting at pings or reviving people) and can instead focus on picking up what’s good to do and what’s not but ofc the best way to learn is to play and get better and finding tricks and tips to use

hello dont know where to post this but .. Hll been working fine for years now i hadnt played for 4 month tried entering servers and get stuck on endless loading time and then "Lost connection to host " anyone knows where i can get help for this or where to post this ? thanks

Hey so, literally anytime I try joining a server it takes about 5 years to load then just says "Disconnected from host".
I am able to connect fine and my internet is not showing any problems, this issue is on literally any server I try though. I have been able to get into a game like, once since buying the game.

Wondering if anyone has a fix, I'm trying to actually try the game and not refund it buy I'm already at like 80 minutes played on steam with over half being menus and loading screens.

Every server that isnt full tends to be out of my region and 150+ ping.
The servers that have open slots and good ping are "level 50+ servers". I really enjoyed the little bit I got to play of the game and thought it was a fun challenge. I genuinely would rather not have to refund but the infrastructure around the game/servers is horrible.

But yea, if anyone have suggestions I'm going to give it one more attempt to work otherwise I'm just gonna shrug it off and refund and buy Foxhole or something prob

In the browser, when you click a server it opens up more information on the right side of the screen. Look for the queue size in that panel (which refreshes itself automatically) and look for servers without a queue

Imo, as someone who is starting to get a handle on the game after buying it last week, playing a support role like machine gunner or medic (or just hanging back and holding a defensive position as the rifleman) is a great way to get a handle on mechanics and strategy without getting yourself killed and messing up other people's strategy. Medic gives you a more purposeful objective than just "shoot the enemy" and machine gunner is a good way to get a feel for aiming on an enemy player without putting yourself in too much danger (laying down a spray of cover fire makes it almost impossible for people to pop up and cap you while you are aiming)

That'll be tough. it's more CPU heavy of a game, but even the 'minimum' is a Nvidia 960 4 GB and the cpu would be i5 6600.

If that's the case you'll stutter (especially when ADS'ing) but will get better. You can force it in a sense, by quickly ADS'ing around at different map assets.

A few random tips that come to mind - Check the map when you can to get an idea of where friendly players are looking, and if your spawn points show "enemies near". If you feel overwhelmed, it's perfectly okay to just tell the squad that you're new to the game and ask questions.

Just don't stress out too much about dying, and communicate with your squad 🙂

rebind your map key to something more accessible. You really don't ever need to look at the scoreboard so I suggest TAB. You can see where your friendlies are looking, and where they aren't, to get an idea of where enemy positions are. Play it slow. The time to kill (ttk) is super fast so don't go running through a field unless you're sure it's safe. Play support to get it leveled up to 3 so you get the supply carrier loadout and follow your squad leader around and do what they ask you to do and you'll learn a lot from being close to experienced players

There's official servers, but probably aren't populated. The community servers are mostly the same since core gameplay parameters aren't changed. Only things that might be different could be level req's, language, map rotations, general server rules, etc

Now if it crashes entirely that could be a whole separate issue, but load times are usually dependent on the storage drive which they are installed to. Which SSD's are generally much faster than HDD's

O7 newbie reporting. Don't get much game time due to kids and other duties.... But picked up HLL on Game Pass - want to play it on my PC because the controller scheme isn't my go-to lol.

I've hit lvl 5 and see the over arching theme. I love that it's not a twitch arcade shooter and there is deeper strategy in winning, outside of just killing. I am more often than not sad in my quick launches that no one communicates.....

So I'm joining to see if there is a clan or guild or what have you that dedicates a night or two a week I can schedule in.

SSD, NVME, USB is all technically the same tech deployed in different fashions.

The reason the game is moving slow is large files are easy to move, 1,000's of small files that build a bigger file are harder to move. I.e. moving a program vs. moving a zipped file. It's not the size difference that increases speed. It's that the read/write cycles are greatly diminished.

NVME is the fastest because it has more lanes to the CPU.

SSD is faster than HDD because the SSD doesn't have a spin cycle to worry about but is bottlenecked to the same channels a HDD is.

Another bottle neck you maybe running into - RAM. If you have lower mhz on the ram or your ram is very massive, those increase load times as things are read off of your HDD/SSD and into RAM.

There are 101 different reasons as to why the game behaves differently on your computer... Going to be hard to pinpoint without doing proper diagnostics.

What did you mean by build supply thing? Players can drop supplies there, commander can airdrop supplies there, but generally you can’t drop supplies with the supply truck in your HQ. There are a few instances in which you can but they are all in the Offensive game mode. Idk if that’s what you’re asking tho

Agreed. A microphone is really beneficial. Even if you can ping something, you'll get an SL who wants to know what that ping is - IE: Garrison? infantry? tank?, etc.
