hey im new to hell let loose and is there a group i can join?
Hello! đ There are plenty of âformalâ groups in #pc-divisions-recruitment, otherwise you may want to hop into a more casual group in #pc-looking-for-unit
tnx man
Et tu @valid vigil
how do you invite friends on pc, i just bought the game on steam and having trouble with this
There's no party system, you can join a server that your friends are on through the friends list (or them to you) if there's space
The easiest way is to go find a server that has say 60-80 people on it and just both join the same server at the same time, otherwise it can be hard to get into the same one if the queue is full
oh thats kinda disappointing, thanks for the help!

Hi. I like tanks
What kinda tanks đ
the kinda tank that blows shÂĄt up, YEAH!!@@@
YEAH! đđŞ
Nnoooo not the tank đŚ
How do u fire the artillery
I already reloaded and pressed the left mouse button
Nvm u need in the first seat to fire it
Yeah you need to move seats to reload
Man, killed 5 friendly in 1 strike
welp, bought the game monday, have put in 16hrs and got up to level 21. Should've played this sooner. Thanks for all the help out there, soldiers!
Iâm glad to hear youâre liking it! đ
yeah, i've always been a fan of WW2 shooters, and in general. Played Day Of Defeat a ton back in the day.
Hello! I just bought and installed Hell Let Loose and have been looking around for a bit in the main menu. Now when I want to play a game there are so many servers to choose from and I don't really know which one to choose?
Just jump on one with a good ping, clan owned severs are better than official ones
Hop from squad to squad or server to server if you're having a bad time, experiences will vary wildly depending on server and time of day on that server
and do yourself a favor and read the new players guide (5 minutes or so) before hopping in it's pinned in here
That thompson that makes no sound when shooting, is it the normal one or do you have to unlock it?
that's not a thing, all weapons make sound, if it's far enough away it might be too quiet for you to hear over other things though
Keep getting killed by Thompsons at close range that don't make any sound whens hooting
Well, there are no quiet guns in game, maybe your sound settings are jacked or something or it's a game bug
No, sometimes the Thompson makes a sound, other times it doesn't. All other guns seem to make sounds when shooting, only happens with the Thompson.
Also seems to be consistent with some players
wat?
I think you may wanna clip it or something because I have never seen or heard anyone mention this
what is "TOGGLE SNAPING " use for ? i don't see anything happen when pressing it
If you mean when you're building it lets you sometimes when it cooperates latch buildable fortifications together
Do we get them? Yes
When? Soon
Lmao fair, I've heard the roadmaps have been iffy
If by soon you mean every 5-6 months yes
The next update next month isnât a content update, but itâs a health update. I donât mind the health update but I feel like itâs a cop out for them since they did absolutely nothing since they got back from the holidays
Poor communication
Those things lead to a game dying and I wouldnât be surprised if their numbers dropped, everything in the game now is dry, itâs the same maps
If you buy the game now youâre lucky, everything would still be fairly new and fresh for you, but the people who feel burnt out like me, I have to wait for some type of content update to play again
What are console events? Are these private matches where people RP or something
Probably competitive games between clans
Yes
Its cringe
They spam dm everyone and tell them to leave the lobby
Or start to tk them away so they quit
Pretty sad, a server browser is definitely needed for console.
Anyone have time to teach someone for tank controls?
just read this and hop on an empty server and go wild https://www.theline.gg/tankbible/#top
sup fam wheres the happenin EAST server today?
I'm not sure how to feel about the new uniforms
why you dislike them?
I like them to an extent but I also really donât like what they are implying
The veteran looks to âTacticoolâ and the summer shirt isnât even an actual shirt used by the Wermacht
If it was the proper undershirt it would be kinda cool but from what my rennactor buddies say German field doctrine forbid soliders go into combat without the field jacket on
And the veteran uniform has the same problem, with shirts not being able to be open collared
And the field gear is just weird
Sounds nitpicky but I want my game to be as accurate as possible and not have it turn into BFV
I dont dislike them
Don't say that if accept a jumbo 76mm in Normandy and panther in Kharkov
Gameplay is skewed historically but the game has always had a very strong historical aesthetic and feel. These uniforms go very against that
Just give me a proper looking M36 and an actual German undershirt if your going this route, not a dirty looking shirt with a bandage and hankerchief along with a shirt that was never used by the Heer
@dawn widget well I'm wait for a Fallschirmjäger uniform with there real color and the real helmet
We already have the helmet?
But yea we need a better uniform
The one in game with smock is just a kick in the shins
Small, and no straps on the helmet
And the glove is bad in
Yea
Hi i just got the game :D
Hi, enjoy the hell
I will most likley do
how u got ?
Welcome! đ đ
Hey i was wondering how the spawning of supply trucks work. Are they spawned in by Commanders?
Aside from the one that spawns automatically during the beginning of a warfare match, yes
thanks
I understand you pain, I known it
Hi, i just picked the game back up after like 3 months ( played it for like 2 hours) and i realised how fun it is
any tips to help me?
What kind of role are you looking to play?
Rifleman or medic
You should give the new players guide which is pinned in here a read, and in particular understand the different spawns
And then if you have a cooperative SL you should play support and help them build garrisons as needed
A tip I use while playing medic is know when to use your smoke grenades, because they can either help out a lot or hinder
that and communication is key, no matter what role
Support is a good class to learn with. Same kit as rifleman but you have supplies to help your team. Drop them for your officer or the commander to make garrisons. Also unlocks MP40 and Grease gun pretty quickly
Is the flamethrower worth the grind? It looks badass and i really wanna try for it. I probably will even if it's bad
it's objectively worse than other guns, but next time they do a PTE you can hop on and try it because everything is unlocked there
Oh yeah thanks, didn't think of that
It's a horrible weapon, great fun tho
The only real benefit it has is the ability to burn a garrison or op down, but the op one is a bit less good since if you are within burning distance you are within close enough to pop it distance
If you could damage the engines of vehicles then it would be better but as is the best you can do is trucks or halftracks by using literally the entire tank
It's useful in some very niche situations, like flaming everything through smokes as you push, or flaming a trench section from above or from the previous section. The flames dip down a bit. A very much a support weapon, except it's you who needs support from many other people to get to that niche spot.
Yeah it's not worth it I invested the time for it and was so burnt out afterwards I haven't played in months
It's worthless in any combat capacity
Anyone care to play somewhen? I usually play support atm but Iâm getting fed up of teams with no comms and no command. Iâm relatively new to the game but would probably@like to eventually play recon after watching countless videos on classes etc.
It's pretty terrible. I think a better way to balance the flamethrower would be to add a severe suppression effect to players that are on fire to simulate panic, so you can't immediately just dome the dude who just doused you with napalm
Problem is that any other weapon can simply kill the people you see while the flamer is busy pushing while trying to not get shot to maybe do just as good but likely less
And you cant even quickly spread the flame around so someone who is accurate with grease gun or mp40 can not only kill at range but also spread their bullets side to side quickly to kill many people
Not to mention the fire doesn't immediately kill, so that dude you just set on fire might just turn around and shoot you
I think I've only died once to a flamethrower honestly
Read the new players guide, understand the different types of spawns and how they're built, and then spend your time building/defending spawn points if you want to have a real influence on the match's outcome
oh and is there any tips for spotting enemies i seem to never find em
and also look at your map, and go back and defend your points as required, there's a page in the new players guide that describes cap zones for warfare/offensive, most matches are lost because too many players have no understanding of where the cap zones are and when they're losing a point
thanks for the tips mate!
Over time as you play you'll be able to read the map better, but you want to pay attention to where friendlies are, where they're disappearing from, where your spawns are and which spawns are pinging (they have radar for enemy players) and you can then use that to (generally) pretty easily deduce where the enemies are, for instance if none of your spawns are flashing (assuming you have enough and they're spread out), but you're losing the point, they're coming from the void on your map
k thanks for the help
it will be my first time back in a year and i only have 4 hours im redownloading rn
YO IM DOING SO WELL BEING A MEDIC IS SO FUN
I CAN HEAL AND KILL
15 KILLS 5 DEATHS WOOHOOO
feels pretty elite having the burn 20 enemies with flamer in one match ngl, only .1 have it lol
wow, 0% of players have the kill 10 players with one katyusha strike acheivement , which is on par with revive 64 players in one match
Track and Trace
As Anti-Tank or Engineer, destroyed a fully occupied Half Track vehicle.
ill never get this one lmao
ive seen a fully occupied HT once, and i was in it
Nobody with a clue about the agme is going to ride in a half track
we fully occupied it because we had no gary and needed men at the front and it kinda worked
but yeah a lot of the acheivements arent really possible lmao
I would.
he said with a clue
oh
i know that head is empty
im clueless nvm
no you are herb
lmao, i like that strat
how do i place at gun
Youâll need the gun crew loadout for the anti-tank role and 50 supplies, switch to your wrench and place blueprint, switch to hammer and build
how to use artillery?
this one has joined the dark side

đ¤Ł
Expect guys from the Other Team to hunt you down.
bros gonna be germanys most wanted fr âźď¸âźď¸
I'm already
đ¤Ł
Are you new to the game?
yes?
watch some YouTube tutorials, they should give you a good idea on how Artillary Works
Arty is easy but my recommendation is to play Infantry for a bit and learn the map layouts. Map knowledge is key for your IDF to be most effective in terrain and route denial
If you know the common routes and advantageous terrain for capture points you know where you will rack up the kills
This is wholesome
May have better luck fetching a yes in #pc-looking-for-unit đ
(Not to say youâre in trouble for posting here, genuinely might have better luck)
ah
alright thanks mate
i mean i dont want to bother nobody im just lookin for a few new guys to have a laugh with
Of course đ usually peeps are pretty good with joining up
Somebody DM this man!
hey i got a guy anybody else want to join?
anybody up for a game or two?

I just got the game, is it fine if I play without a mic because my headphones are charging?
In order to join a match I need to select a server right?
Playing without a mic is perfectly fine - a simple acknowledgement of something that's been said to you in the unit's text chat usually goes a long ways. Yes, servers have the matches
does anyone know how to not get blowen up every time i spawn in im new?
spawn somewhere else
how do i fix low fps and i have a good pc
<@&365680483276816385>
Ha I make 40k in just 69 hours
Did I miss out on a passive income secret
Whatâs your current pc specs?
420k*
Sorry but 1660 and 3600x are pretty outdated specs compared to todays standard. Set your graphics to low and play in 1080p. HLL is not the greatest optimized game.
so everyone playing this game using discord?
I usually use ingame voice chat instead of using discord
Too much discord servers to join :/
This game is hard, but very much enjoying the atmosphere. Whatâs the best class for a beginner? My reflexâs are rather slow and aim poor
assault and auto rifleman
what about a regular rifleman
regular rifleman is useless until you're level 6 with it
he also specifically stated that his reflexes are slow and aim poor
rifleman for all factions except the U.S are bolt action guns primarily until you get to lvl 3
auto rifleman, and assault, have full autos
oh ok
which are a lot more forgiving for having bad aim
personally despite the fact i am bad at spotting things, as a new player i do enjoy sitting there with a rifle trying to pop shots off
he asked for advice
k
What about support? No one seems to communicate on mic. Iâm a console player btw
support is a very very necessary role for people who understand how the game plays
they're key to getting garrisons up and building fortifications
best left to people who've played the game for a while
@wooden narwhal ok, thanks for your advice
Iâll look for a clan that is accepting of new players, but also uses mics for communication. I like the pace of the game
I've just started this game and I DO really love Medics
My main character in BF Series is Medic and Support...
And I'm glad to hear my teammates saying "Thank you bro" to me
My aim isn't that good so I'd love to take care or support my team, so I also recommend Medic
Medic is a fun class if you like supporting
medic is for suckers, go MG go
who needs drugs when you've got a gun that shreds trees in half
Hi
The people on the other side of the barrel đ
when do updates normally release?

well we have one in 3 days blama
Only MG I play with is the 42 because that thing beasts
I think its abit to shakey tbh
When u have the bipod down the sights shake left and right alot
Almost like it's cyclic rate is causing that to happen...
How do I keep my aim steady when Iâm taken by surprised at close range? When I see an enemy pop up right in front of me, I either miss or take too long to get the shot off
practice
muscle memory is a good place to start
So Iâll eventually get used to taking point blank panic shots accurately?
well
they won't be panic shots then
but yes thats the gist of it
do something enough and you'll get good at it at some point
unfortunately, like most other shooters of this character - whoever sees who first and subsequently pulls the trigger first - typically wins
I get near misses so o just need to try not to think of it as an âoh no guy suddenly popped upâ but as a âguy just came in front of me, time to shoot himâ
Then my hand wonât jerk and miss right?
literally just don't think
as stupid as it sounds
Instead of think before you shoot, shoot before you think
if someone pops up close enough for you to be able to panic shoot them, you can typically hear or see them coming
yes
exactly
Unfortunately I did that once not realising it was a team mate
footsteps are incredibly loud in this game
thats why you check your map and press T routinely
like, I open my map every 3-4 seconds
no joke
map awareness is incredibly important
I do check the map to look for pings, markers and where team mates are and their formation
yah
idk point and reflex shooting typically comes with time
i could hip fire in RS2 without any problem because I just subconsciously learned where the bullets would hit over time
So just wait for muscle memory and nerve connections to do their thing
yea idk how else to explain it
as you become more comfortable with core game mechancis, how the game plays and the pace that you should be moving at
it just comes to you naturally
at least, if you are gifted at shooters
if you have game sense and are just slightly above average it will happen organically
a lot of it is in the feel, as ambiguous as that is
Oh ye and how to spot enemies from far away, Iâm looking at the tree lines for movement but canât see anyone despite bullets going in and out of the area
easier to look for shapes and colours that don't occur naturally in the game
the colour of the character models' skin does not occur naturally
if you see it, you are 100% sure its an enemy
(or friend)
That can be a little difficult, although the best thing to do at least for me is be patient and wait for them to reveal themselves
You'd be surprised how reckless some people can be about revealing themselves when they think they're safe
At a distance, everything looks grey especially at night to
So just wait and theyâll eventually move?
Usually, yes
Even if it's just a little shift
The biggest thing I've found is timing, usually waiting that extra second is the difference between life and death
So wait and keep staring at where i think the enemy is
But if I donât spot them but notice them shooting at me, i should just fire in their general direction right?
turn up brightness to 200% on night maps and its just a daytime map with fog
nah just duck down
stopping to look and listen every now and then is a very good idea
not firing your gun is just as good as shooting some times
Sometimes staring directly at them isn't the best, your peripheral vision can be a useful tool
audio gives you 100% more information than seeing stuff, usually
gun sounds are incredibly distinct
Couldn't agree more
Thx
anyone want to play
ye im down
we can call
kk
is there a soviet light tank
Yes, the T-70
where should build recourse nodes on the map? whats are the most popular locations for the nodes
anywhere thats 2 grids into the map from spawn
And preferably not on an axis of advance
I.e. don't build them where a whole team will push from
alright, thanks
What does seeding a server mean?
getting it populated. either 40 players, 60, so on. different servers have different rules
Finnish and Polish soldiers coming to HLL?
And winter war!!
But what about the Polish soldiers? Is it like the ones in PS where they're fighting for the British/Soviets? Or will it be 1939 invasion of Poland?
great question im hoping they bring in polish forces
theyre doing every year as a year in ww2 and focusing on 39 this year so that should be the case
smaller battle to begin with to match their new, single objective mode.
Yeah but the post office was made up of a bunch of Polish postmen lol
Not actual soldiers
we'll see how they implement it ÂŻ_(ă)_/ÂŻ
So for Poland it'll only be the one map (danzig)?
Since that's all they said about Poland in the video
For this year, yes. I'd imagine that they'd add more Polish maps with time, though.
any tips? i got the game less than 5mins ago
Battle of JordanĂłw, TomaszĂłw Lubelski, PiotrkĂłw Trybunalski, etc are some battles that can definitely be added to the game
Tanks, armoured cars, etc on both sides engaged in these battles
I cant even read what the roadmap says
open original
ok
it is larger on browser
Idk how to do that
click the image, bottom left says open in browser
you can also just middle mouse button over the image in discord
Itâs better on mobile you can zoom in and see
im mobile and still cant read it
Anyone else waiting for imperial army to be added
You're going to be waiting for a long time.
Smelly

With the addition of British forces would there also be an Australian tie in?
Hopefully if they add the pacific they can add in a some Anzac maps
Hi
Hello! đ
There are a plenty of video's to be found in the #hll-guides channel or you can simply head over to YT and search as well!
Feel free to give me a message as well if you'd like a chat đ
I think the main piece of early advice I could give you is don't worry about KD ratios early on, just play; enjoy the game and make sure you're communicating with your team mates with a MIC.
Tell them you're new and they will generally be able to give you advice.
wait
so what happened to the flakpanzer, british forces, mortars, etc that were supposed to come out last year?
British forces coming this year
Dev team completely changed
I would say disregard the prior road map and to do list
As it was for a dev team that no longer exists or works on the game.
oh nvm their 2021/22 roadmap said "the list is not exhaustive"
Like I said I wouldn't use it as a main reference
Flak stuff never made any sense anyway
Party system didn't really make sense with server queues and the browser either
You can scrap the 2021/2022 roadmap
T17 has shown that they barely care about what BM set out to add with the old roadmap
Campaign mode never made sense either
Literally two months
Man, I am so glad they scrapped that crap. Wasted development time.
Same as Flakpanzer tbh
tf would you need that for
Campaign mode could maybe make sense in smaller shorter game modes but this game has enough of a problem with losers switching to the winning team or people joining the already winning team and campaign mode would have really exacerbated that
Four 20mms against fortified defenses and infantry sounds pretty deadly man..
Have you not used the 20mm flak guns in post scriptum?
The splash damage on the luchs is anemic and it would just get blasted by rocket spam or other tanks most likely
That's the user's fault for not using it well.
Same thing in PS, it's hella effective when used correctly
But I mean, the flakpanzer would be a poor choice tbh because it literally uses a panzer 4 chassis
Too op
What would the Allies get?
stop using big words, they scare me

And I have a question about the uniform customizations for the Polish 1939 campaign
Will most German uniforms be restricted or will they be available?
Such as the late war helmet camo, etc
I feel like that would look incredibly odd in a 1939 setting
..and the guns
The STG44 and the MG42
Hm we dont know.
Would be neat if they introduced new German weapons for that early war setting which can be carried on to the future France 1940 addon
They have mentioned how the Soviets and Finns will get completely new stuff for the Winter War so it's not totally off base to assume it's gonna be similar for the Polish campaign
Such as the PzB39 AT rifle, MP34, and C96 pistol
To replace the panzerschreck and mp40
That's good
You can see T-26 tanks in one of the Finnish concept art artworks
Perhaps they'll create an early war German faction đ¤ˇââď¸
Any suggested divisions that are active?
Would suggest you try out a number of different community servers, see if you can play with some of the guys there. If you're having a good time with them, consider joining their community. Can look in #pc-divisions-recruitment for some additional orientation.
anyone looking for group

NEW New players beginning guide https://youtu.be/iWHBNP3zTEU
EVERYTHING you need to know about Hell Let Loose. This is a complete guide for beginners, covering everything from tanks to spawn points, use of supplies and strategic understanding of the game.
Guide Playlist: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL_xYuVQ7ZF4TMGa4jImMwR_It_Mk73EFi
Artillery Guide: https://youtu.be/c3Ko5o-I06I
Hey Newb, play Squ...
Hello. Have they changed the game in anyway? The guns seem different some classes? Maybe Iâm losing my mind
Ah, I have worked it out! Different factions have different weapons. Iâve only played as Germany so far, so couldnât understand why I was all of a sudden using a Tommy gun
I prefer single shot guns as they are more accurate. Still canât decide what class to pick
At some point, you'll need to delve into all of them. Support and AT have big uses and semi auto or bolt action rifles for the first loadout.
I would like to, but I donât want to take up a class that would actually be useful for someone who knows what theyâre doing. Iâd rather take a role that doesnât matter too much and is good for someone new to the game. I donât want to mess it up for others
As long as you're willing to learn and understand a class, you'll probably do better than most people already đ
Don't worry about it.
Support is easy to learn. You have a box, drop it near your outpost whenever it's off cooldown. The nuance can come later
AT - shoot the back of tanks, and the rest comes with experience.
Best way to learn is by trying something new, after all
Those are are probably the most the most important roles outside of SL/commander in pub games.
But it's better to have someone willing to play it and learn than someone who isn't or no one at all đ
Good points. Thank you for the advice. Iâll go ahead and try support. Thanks again đđť
Where exactly do I drop the supplies?
Anywhere that a squad leader or the commander asks you
Once you also start to get a good idea of where garrisons should go, you can put them down preemptively to provide incentive to build one
Another good use is for mobile AT gun tank hunting
They work within a 50m radius of what is being built, so try not to drop it exactly where someone is standing with a watch out or you block them
So noobish question but is there a tutorial mode I'm not finding in the menus and I'm blind?
Don't want to Leroy Jenkins this out of the box
No tutorial, lots of stuff on youtube, some things are pinned, to include the new players guide in here which is maybe a 5 minute read and is worth your time.
Read (the first parts of) the guide, look for a unit with players that are willing to guide you around a bit, and from there on just try and follow.
Don't be afraid to swap from squad to squad, or server to server if you run into mute, rude, or otherwise unhelpful people
Don't need to be a master to get started. Just try and have some fun whilst you learn đ
throw yourself into it
enjoy the atmosphere and expect to die a lot
you will learn by doing
Oh yeah, I got destroyed
How can I just play the game all these servers are so empty
There's a bunch of full servers, perhaps make sure you're sorting the server browser by players
Currently watching a guide thatâs 30 minutes. Just found out that it doesnât matter how many of the enemy you kill because what really matter are the spawn points. Placing and destroying them should be the primary objective! His name is monoespacial
I thought you had to go to the circle and get as many kills as possible :/
Glad you enjoyed it bud
Remember there's 70 more videos where that came from đ¤Ş
watch them all
@errant swallow Iâve subscribed. Itâs a lot to take in so I will have to watch it multiple times. Cheers mate
thanks man! There's a lot of stuff I didn't even touch upon, like specifics of tank combat, how the recon tank works, flares, advanced tactics, how to squad lead, what the commander abilities do, wtc
it's hard to make a beginners guide because it could be 2 hours long if you actually had to talk about all the "important" stuff
Iâll watch your other videos too because Iâd like to get an in-depth understanding of this game. I do feel a bit stupid as Iâm still struggling to understand quite a few things, but Iâll just keep watching and playing to get there đđť thank goodness for YouTube and people willing to making educational videos because Iâd never be able to pick this stuff up on my own
@sturdy jetty I was lucky enough that one of the first times I ever played HLL, I got into a squad of veteran players that were very welcoming. I added them and I would jump in their squad whenever possible. In my first 100hs I learnt stuff I wouldn't have learnt alone in 500.
All they have to do to simplify this matter is by locking specific uniforms, weapons, and tanks to their respective theaters of operation, i.e. no white uniforms and helmets running around in France, etc. At the moment, there are not enough cosmetics and assets to cover those ranges and years, but I am assuming this will come with future DLCs and updates.
@unkempt storm why u deleting my feedback?
It wasnât feedback.
It was a feedback nobody is fixing this game, so this is what I'm trying to say there
So only positive feedback is allowed in there?
omggg i cant wait to play as the brits and finnish đ
Go to #pc-feedback for that stuff
It might be smart to make a 2 hour ep because one time you said that "if you can't be patient and watch this video then hell let loose isn't for you" yes it might take a while but it would help the newbies me included to learn how to get better and help the team out more.
I watched the tanking guide today and learned so much from that ep
when i grow up, i want to become a social media influencer
Bathwater should become the new currency.
Iâd like to learn how to be a spotter
Are there many snipers on the console version of the game?
Yeah but I canât guarantee them talking much
Hmm, one day Iâll get a pc as these types of games seem a lot more popular on pc, and people seem to communicate a lot more
You should probably try to join a group/ clan. They are always willing to help newer members improve
Hello everyone I have a problem communicating in game chat and can't seem to fix. Can anyone advise. I have had this problem for months now and I'm about to give up on the game
Change the audio device
@sturdy jetty I can snipe for you
@dawn widget shaqim a very good tank commander
I can get in the game with you if you play on console and I can help you out
Keep your "head" on a swivel and listen for callouts
A tank without info is at half strength, unless its holding a long angle
Most of it just comes from experience on knowing where to get the tank and the gun pointing, and you need good crew who dont need you to tell em what to do all the time
Ignore call-outs and let Jesus lead the way đ
You need to be aware of what's happening around you and what's the global situation. It also depends on the tank you're using. Getting in a good position is 1/3 of the job. It's pretty much map knowledges and experience. The rest is awaress (knowing what ennemy tanks can do) and destroying the tank you're facing : You're not gonna rush a 76 with a panzer 4. Try to find a flank and be more sneaky. If you have a panther, if you know his position, just wait for him to shoot and go for it (if you have a angle for it).
I'm joining Noa on his many points who are all true
even if this is a joke, i wouldnt mind this in the game! maybe instead of president the hero is famous soldier with some abilities. Like John Basilone or famous soldiers
For anyone having persistent VOIP connection issues - can you let us know your region?
If you have a panther you dont even need to wait, thing is broken
If the 76 shoots first and you shoot 1.5s after and hit and reload instantly, you will still load first and win, provided your gunner isnt bad
Yeah i know but they are gonna patch it (maybe xd)
its been 5 months~, i have low constant low hope that maybe next patch will be the one to change some values
ik
This game man, I am in cover, im dead, i run out of cover, im dead, i move fast, im dead, i take it slow, im dead, feel like im making 0 progress
Hey, would anyone like to play? I'm new to the game and pretty bad but could need someone to play with
Ye sure, im bored so why not

very confused on my first time loggin in
Hello folks. Iâm hoping someone can point me in the right direction where a keen noob can learn how to play without frustrating anyone? I play on PC if that helps?

Lovely. Thanks for this
Your Very Welcome
I went to sleep man, I added you if you wanna play laterđ
What I did too
yo if you still need a hand, im happy to help?
Any decent groups to join to play? Ps5
Try #console-looking-for-unit for something casual.
Try #console-divisions-recruitment if looking for a more committed clan or group.
That's good to hear.
u wanna play later?
anyone want to play hll now
ok sick
If you Need Anything Just Let me Know.
hello, im brand new and would like someone to play with đ
Is there comp play in this game?
There are community comp events and seasonals run by and between divisions, but nothing official at the moment.
Hello, can anyone suggest me good EU servers? where people play together but also not toxic.
why not, sure ill join
id say any of the 82nd Airbourne (82AD in server browser) or Exodus (EXD in server browser) are always decent imo, most people use comms, command chat is actually doing stuff etc
i see a lot of new players lately: feel free to dm me about the game, or to play (im located in us west). i got 400 hrs in the game and would be happy to teach everything i know
Tutorial system coming in July, hang in there
can anyone suggests me good EU based clan that dont take things to serious? i wanna learn, and i dont want to commit 5 hours a aweek to play, cause sometimes i cant im very busy
on my experience as new player half year ago with not perfect english, I can guarantee you that, if you say your squad that you are a new in this game, no one will yell at you for no reason and they give you a lot a advises. I was really suprised with community of this game(in a good way). Band of Brothers server is always full/busy with players
I'm with the 82AD and I learned a lot from the guys even though I only ever played a competetive match once. There is no requirement on how much you should play. You can learn a lot from vets while seeding the servers in the morning, like today when we had an improvised jumping class. There are also some organized training lessons.
Im looking at buying the game but i have heard alot about the latest update not being great and im wondering if i should still buy it now or wait
Wait it out. See if this new team of devs is worth anything
Hey man Watch @errant swallow New Video Here's the Link,

i watched it
just seen alot of other videos aswell saying it needs to be fixed now or the playerbase will die off ect and thought i would get an opinion from here
Have you Watched @still moon Video?
no i havent thanks
oh
yeah
i have
thought it was someone else based on the @
Then those Two Are the Most Newest Vids from Watched Hll Youtubers
ik, as i said im just here to ask people who are currently playing what they think
Their is this guy, https://youtu.be/pnSAgKUTP_Y

Your Very Welcome,Just Here To Help.đŤĄ
There's a lot of doom and gloom stuff out there for easy views. Sure, there's bugs. But it's Team 17s very first update since taking over from Black Matter. Did anyone really expect there to not be bugs? Black Matter updates always had bugs too, but here we are still enjoying the game. Look, I'm not saying we can't be critical. But I do wish it was done in a more constructive way sometimes. Thumbnails saying the game is doomed, dying, in trouble, etc. are only hurting the game, even if the video itself then turns out to be optimistic. That's the "clickbaity" part that I don't really care for.
Game's not going to die because of the problems of this update
It's still a fantastic game, still one of the best multiplayer shooters out there.
And that hasn't changed with the update. It's the first time the new dev studio updates the game so it was to be expected that they would have some issues, which I don't doubt they'll be able to fix soon.
It takes more than a bad update to kill a game. Several really bad updates would do it, but HLL is in better hands than that. Hopefully these server analytics deliver fixes for the Loadout and Grenade Bugs.
đ§˘
want to say that Im not saying that it is dying but that I heard that from someone, true or not. And was merely wondering if I should get into it asap or wait until the fixes are out, maybe so my first experience of the game isn't tarnished or some other reason.
i think thats one i saw which is why i was concerned
also purely out of curiosity, anyone know if there are many Australian servers?
Every game has doomsday preachers saying it will die
I'd say wait for a sale
Its still worth the money if you are interested but if you arent desperate then wait for a sale or bug fix for some of the immersion breaking things
I pretty much play ONLY on Aussie servers despite being from India since its the closest English speaking servers. Lot of good ones (Exodus, Garrybusters, Chimera etc). Very friendly players.
exodus are EU, not OCE
oh yeah my bad. BigD is another Aussie one. (i have played on exd.gg too which is why i got confused)
If you're never sure, wait for the sale. Otherwise it's worth the investment, either now or eventually with more updates and expansions.
Ayyy, the refund went threw for the last 13$, getting the game when it comes threw
i should have the funds in the next 24 hours
What are my options for getting through barbed wire?
Go around if it's a map asset, satchels can blow up player placed
Right I'm talking player placed wire
any other options e.g. tank HE or vehicles driving through?
Vehicles can drive through the wire part but not the wooden ends
does that destroy the wire or does it work like driving through fences?
Doesn't remove them, I believe bombing runs remove them don't recall
Makes sense, good to know, thanks
And if bombing runs do presumably precision strikes do too
Best way is a satchel if you can get up to it
đ Good to know.
Another question- how to advance across open ground into defensive positions
Smokes can work over short dashes, do I need to just get the entire squad together, get an ordinance box, and then leapfrog it with OPs?
Follow a longer route with more cover.
Or try leapfrogging indeed, but with squaddies alternating between supressing and moving.
Yeah a longer route would be my preferred choice (ideally flanking from the "main" push), but in this case the objective was in a town surrounded by open fields, and we didn't have armored support
Also, I had a guy who had like four smoke grenades between restocks, which class/loadout was that?
The assault class has a grenadier loadout at level 6 that has 4 smokes and 6 grenades
Towns surrounded by open ground is hard
Best thing to do is get tonk, not lose tonk, and have artillery shell and smoke when infantry are ready to push
Smoke artillery is very good when used right
That's... amazing. I'll have to remember that, thanks.
Related to this, how can I best work with a tonk to keep it alive?
Can you elaborate on what this looks like?
I don't actually plan to command at any point, but I also didn't plan to SL at any point yet here I am
That's up to the tonk not rushing into a bad spot
Best you can do is make sure a rocket or satchel guy doesnt sneak up on it
And marking tanks and having your SL mark the tank
Just getting smoke shells onto the point and blocking sight
Its not too elaborate
Engineers can walk up to the middle of player placed barbed wire and hold f to remove it
You can
Only engineers can
Don't doubt it conscript
How should I go about using MGs for suppression (or just killing people) without the MG gunner getting immediately domed?
I've had some luck with using mass smoke and then just having the gunner spray through it but that's kinda EEEEH.
(Technically this splits into two questions- not getting killed on defense, and not getting killed while using him for a base of fire)
Pairing him with a medic only kinda buys time (and it costs me something else)
Shoot as little as possible and only to kill, otherwise you'll unnecessarily draw attention to yourself. It takes ONE bullet to kill a target with an MG up to 100m, so you don't need to be shooting multiple rounds at all.
Basically, do the opposite of what an MG would typically be doing irl. There is no need for suppression in HLL, it is useless. Trying to provide a base of fire in this game is only deterring yourself and is an effective way of sending yourself to the respawn screen
How do I advance into fire then?
the what? Just shoot targets as you see them
Presumably they're doing the same, is my point
They aren't. They're shooting to kill
The guy that shoots to kill will be the victor. HLL isn't that deep with its infantry
Okay let me back up
Don't overthink it man, you just have to shoot to kill with every class
You're barking up the wrong tree here because that's not what I'm asking
How should I go about using MGs for suppression (or just killing people) without the MG gunner getting immediately domed?
Shoot as little as possible, and only to kill.
The defender has the advantage of cover, ability to peek, and quite likely faster respawn times, and I'm trying to work out how to get around because "just shoot them" is a sledgehammer of a solution
Defenders don't have faster respawn times...
I'm accounting for travel time and garry/OP placement
You are new to the game? The solution to every infantry engagement is to shoot your enemy faster than he shoots you.
The MGs main draw back is that you need to be emplaced. despite that though, it still only takes 1, sometimes 2 bullets to down whatever you're pointing at.
You are only drawing attention to yourself if you intend on firing more than you absolutely need to with an MG, cause that's how you get domed by anyone looking in your direction
Your reward for trying to suppress someone in this game is someone else who isn't suppressed shooting you dead.
You are new to the game?
Relatively new to HLL, coming from games like squad and planetside, where yes the solution is to kill the enemy first, but if you try to rely on that without any deeper tactics you're going to lose as often as you win.
regarding suppression, that's been established, yes. My question is "how to suppress without getting domed", answer: "you don't", okay, great
The original question remains regarding trying to take ground when the odds favor the defender (near as I can tell)
Go around and spawn bomb them
HLL has a much more generous damage model than those games you listed, ie, you die quicker and easier.
There is nothing in HLL that warrants you trying to suppress targets in this game.
Spawns are the most important thing in HLL
By all means, keep trying to suppress targets. You will only continue to be domed, like you said.
I give you the answer, and you deny it. Keep doing what you're doing then.
My guy enough about suppression
I'm not denying it lmao
I'm going "fine, suppression is not a thing, what should I be using"
And you're telling me that suppression is bad
like, yes
okay, thank you
See a target, hold your mouse fire button down for a tenth of a second when aiming at the target. That's how you MG in this game
I'm not talking about MG either because that was very specifically tied to suppression
It applies to any gun actually
I'm also not asking how to shoot people
They all share the same accuracy
I think I can figure that out
Let me spell my question out very specifically because I'm trying to move away from suppression:
I have a squad. The enemy has a squad. I need to take, e.g., a small bundle of houses from the enemy squad. They have an OP in the center that we can't get vision on until we are physically overrunning them. How should I go about approaching this task?
Set up at a good position to camp their paths, kill them as they come.
You stay as inconspicuous as possible and shoot them dead when they reveal themselves. It's the same thing with any weapon.
HLL isn't what you think it is lol
It's got the most basic infantry gameplay
Can you elaborate? we're the ones attacking here, and we can't get vision on their paths due to the houses
Obviously ideally the solution is something like "tank" but skip that for a moment
The solution is "Hell Let Loose is not the milsim you think it is"
đ I'm not saying it's a milsim
There's going to be pathways they'll take from those houses to an objective, to hold a line ahead of the objective, or to address your squad. Find that pathway, find a good position to camp it.
These micro tactics don't matter
If that's the case, then why have the squad or class system at all?
See ngl I get the sense that if I asked "how to defend a set of houses from an incoming squad" there would probably be suggestions e.g. garrys, ops, barbed wire, maybe mines or something, idk
But I ask how to attack and people get fixated on a question on suppression and then say "lmao just attack it isn't a milsim"
If you're an MG you're meant to play a static, whack-a-mole role.
That's what we're talking about, right, MG?
The answer to any question related to "how do I [be better than the enemy]?" is "have better spawn placements than the enemy"
HLL is only about where you have spawns placed on the map. The in-between details beyond this don't matter
I prolly buying the game today, any roles I should avoid until a fix is rolled out? Just not sure what guns are buggy
I'd say buy it on sale. On Steam the price goes down to $27-28 or so during a sale.
If you want to play it now, GG Deals has it for $22-23
I'm coming from this from the pov of a SL trying to figure out where to use what tools
Especially when I have an enemy hardpoint I can't figure out how to break
because "lmao git gut" is the definition of useless
that was never said
the solution to damn near everything in this game is "go around them"
you do that by having better spawns
That doesn't work when they're on what we need to capture
You're wildly overthinking this game m8
I'm really not
You either close the distance and pop their spawn, or you don't, you can shoot it from a distance with rockets, drive an armored box up to it, drop arty on it until they give up
You really are
Chum you spent like 10 minutes hyperfixated on suppression when I was asking about attack
You choke them out by having a better spawning position than they do
I addressed your MG question
You can grenade OPs, if the space you have to close is large enough and they aren't incompetent then sometimes you just can't unless you can out shoot them
You over-addressed my MG question, is my point, to the point where I was trying to move on and you kept circling back to tell me that I'm an idiot and that suppression isn't a thing
I didn't call you an idiot.
IMHO it was rather heavily implied
But you are correct, you didn't use the word specifically
Tbh, either way, the MG gunner life is a defensive one for most anyways.
And suppression does do favors
I didn't imply it either. Stop making things up in your head.
Whatever chum. I'm not going to bother arguing with you.
If people can see you and aren't potatoes they can shoot you so the answer to your question is make yourself not be seen
I can attest to suppression doing favors. I been a victim of it.
as have I
It isn't fun!
Either by going somewhere else or dropping so much smoke on them they can't see you
And I've also had enemy squads attack into my defensive position and roll me
so clearly they're doing something I'm not
Or by out shooting them
Numbers, better aim, etc, plenty of factors
When chum says suppression doesn't matter what he means is it doesn't change your guns aim, it just reduces the players ability to see, if you are already aimed you can just shoot through the suppression
Mhm
It doesn't physically move your aim around at all

Thats good to hear,
Watch it anyway Chum. For reasons.

Something
Bypassing the filter to make a lewd comment, double foul đ¨ đ¨
Oh crap! It's the cops!
Anyways
Oh
Sorry man, meant no harm
Figured a censored and pretty mild swearword wouldn't raise any eyebrows but apologies
Won't happen again
Meanwhile my stupid self is just watching Soul's guide vids in the background because I am still stupid at level 30+
Just playing with ya đ
Eh I got the money in my wallet now
Just waiting for the last 14 to go threw
Lol you actually got me there
banned
P u n k !
Kek
Don't worry. I'm still stupid at level 160
I'm just good at making videos and explaining things lol
At least you can probably aim lol
then again I can actually aim with American weapons
Like fr the American weapons have the best irons for me
Don't even get me started on the starter mosin for the rifleman. I may have gotten a streak of like five dudes in the first few minutes in my first Soviet match but still
still stupid at level 60+
I'm only good at AT and MG. and I do what my level 20+ SLs tell me lol
I'm a level 120 and I listen to whatever-level SL tells me. I just give them a helpful nudge now and again.
I'm level 260. I just open up a solo squad and run around shooting things. Still place more garrisons than most SLs, even without support in my squad.
I got so lucky. The other day I ended up running as SL (I'm like level 23) because the game before we didn't have any friggin garries or OPs or nodes
Had a couple of like lvl 100-200 dudes who were willing to provide guidance rather than just flaming XD
That was my luck as a tank commander for the first time
80 or so kills, learned a bit. Had to drive the tank itself a couple times due to the driver leaving
Ze panther ist mighty
Panther is op
Way better stats than its enemy equivalent despite costing the same
In comp matches we just ban it at this point since devs seem unwilling to adjust it
2 seconds is 2 seconds
Anyone who thinks panther isnt op just uses it as a crutch and doesnt want to admit it
"Wow we killed that 76 and they barely got a shot on us despite them shooting first, we're so good"
Yeah fr
I'm level 50 and I still revive with no smokes even though I should be deploying smokes more often
So as artillery do i just directly aim at the target or is there wind to compensate?
Point at target, dial distance
20m radius shells fall in
Any one who wanna drop a few games?(im new and bad)
huh that simple, thanks
You can aim at pings or marks they'll show up on your Hud and you point the gun
It's okay, it's almost impossible to play Medic well. And even then it's rarely worth it.
It's rare to find a 200+ lvl player that wouldn't be helpful like that. This game is not the best fit for toxic players due to most of the community being mature 30-40+ yo guys looking for camaraderie, and so these tend to disappear quickly.
I'm just trying to get medic level 10 for that Neato Cape when playing as Soviets haha
My experience has generally been that, while they aren't typically super toxic, there are a lot of players without any patience for noobs
Very "move aside and let me do it myself" and "just hold the darned flashlight still"
AT in particular has been very rough to learn in that regard
lol. All else fails just follow them and do what they do.. stick close to the SL, etc..
Weirdly, I find SL to usually be easier. So long as I'm slamming down even remotely usable garrisons as soon as support's box is off cooldown and throw down OPs like it's going out of style, people are pretty estatic. đ actually feel like SL is less stressful than AT ngl
for AT there are videos on youtube that can help show you how to judge how high to aim for X distance... just takes practice
also there's the tank bible
Tank is something I really want to learn at some point but tank is also one of the areas where veterans don't generally restrain their toxicity
Like, if armor isn't performing well, you're going to hear a lot about it
So I just don't touch it at this point
just find a 2 person tank squad and ask if you can spot for them.. that's prob the best way to learn short of finding a low-pop server and tanking
You get tired of watching people fire rockets into the front of tanks after you tell them it does nothing
I'm not saying they don't have reasons. I myself am pretty bad about flaming noobs in other games that will not listen to correction and keep making the same mistakes over and over again
You'd think the universal concept of "front armor thick year armor thin" would work
But I have also noticed that that seems to creep into, like, misjudge a tail shot and overshoot the tank? If your next shot doesn't hit, you're going to hear about it.
Don't realize something has a collision box and waste a rocket hitting a bush you thought it could pass through? You're going to hear about it.
How far are you trying to hit from?
Tank is actively suppressing your position with both MGs in an open field? You'd better believe I'm going to hear about it
As close as I can possibly get without getting myself killed.
Well if the tank is hulldown and pointing at you, don't bother shooting anything other than the tracks
Front one the rocket is no more useful than a grenade
yeah I've checked the rocket chart on the wiki
People bring their misconceptions into the game and some people are manifestly incapable of the abstract idea that a game does not match reality
well, pro-tip: Don't care what other people think... 90% of the time people complaining in game are wrong about whatever they're talking about
and the other 10% of the time they're complaining about how we don't have any garrisons
You see them quoting armor values and pen values they read off Wikipedia and then they're mocking you on command chat when you tell them not to spawn a j75
It's directional, angle related and depends on the vehicle
Elaborate what you mean?
Something either does damage or not
yeah it either pops the hitbox or it's a dinger
He's asking about if you can bounce or ricochet
No I know you can do that
Which the answer is yes
One sec
There's no like, partial damage applied if you hit it at a poor angle
^^
It's either a penetrated shot, a bounce or a shatter
Each have a distinct effect, sound and cause
And it's all hitboxes, you can hit rear and do no engine damage for instance unless you hit the engine hitboxes
Shooting the front of a tiger with a Bazooka is a one way ticket to a shatter
You can also ricochet if your angle is crap
But there's no ammo racking turret rings etc. you're just hitting hull, turret, track engine
I've had that once haha
Okay so if I hit the side armor from a rear arc, that counts as a side hit right?
Yeah
There's some shot traps too
(Mind, armor angle means it probably won't do anything, but that's another issue)
I've had side shots damage the turret ring and hull
I once was saved because I was in an IS1 and the tracks ate an 88
We won because of it
Okay, good to know. I wasn't sure if I had to physically rotate myself into the rear arc of a tank to be getting a rear shot, or if an engine hit from the side was acceptable
There's some mildly goofy hitboxes but nothing like it used to be
if he's facing you just play possum + hide till he turns (or flank around).. smoking them out will usually get tanks to move as well
^^
Like there's a sliver of side armor visible from the front of an IS-1
What the game considers side armor
If nothing else build an at gun and 1 tap him
I believe the stuart has the same
This is funny to me
Stuart has a tiny bit of rear visible from the side I mean, I think, I forget
Because the IS1 is also the only heavy that just sometimes says "uh uh" to a shot and bounces it
Regardless of whether it was perfect and a good shot
The turret is very bouncy, it's a menace when only the turret is visible
The armor system isn't that complex, it's very arcadey, there is some trivia worth knowing about tank match ups but most of it is good team work, smart decisions, executing your plan and info from your team that makes the difference
If the enemy team is on point with marks and your team isn't marking anything you're in for a rough time
I mean sure but I also need to know how the system actually works so I'm not taking bad shots
So if I'm seeing correctly, with a bazooka I basically need to be getting shots directly on the tail of, say, a Panzer IV to get a kill
So in like the rear 30 degree arc, say, or I won't have enough penetration
Only ever shoot the rear of a P4, it's not enough pen per se it's just a binary on/off thing
What I'm asking is like, if I'm off to the side but can see and potentially hit the rear panel, is that a shot worth taking?
He's talking about 30deg off perpendicular, right?
Braindead second statement imo
Blame game design
They were literally the devs
Not sure tbh
Not all devs have design power
Okay that explains a lot wrt the charts I'm seeing
I think its 30* from 90*
right, which would result in a 60deg cone behind the tank
Like standing directly behind shift 30* left or right
Yeah sure I guess but it just implies that either the devs weren't pushing back or their project manager was not very bright
or, well, a bit larger than that since they say they made it shallower
I lean the latter
The rockets work like tank guns for pen and damage, shrek is like a medium bazooka is like a light
đ I don't know the first thing about tank guns so that's not meaningful to me in the slightest lol
In terms of tiers
OOC does that mean that the US relies more on other forms of AT?
Big gun with high velocity kill bettsr
Stuart and greyhound have the same gun
^^
Sherman and jumbo 75 have same gun
Jumbo 76 has a better gun
Nah not in terms of damage
Isn't it literally the same?
They nerfed recon AP across the board in U11
Did they not nerf the stuart?
They can pen the same things but the recons do less damage
This game has such autistic design
No it wasn't causing the same problems because it isn't an automatic shifting vehicle so you couldn't do the same dumb recon stuff as easily
The recon vehicles were an absolute menace pre damage nerf during U10
If the US has a weaker AT launcher (since bazooka has a harder time penning than shrek) does that mean the US relies more on things like satchels or emplaced guns for anti-tank?
Essentially
Like, I understand that the soviet rifle is supposed to be more about harassing the tank, getting a mobility kill, and then letting the infantry kill the tank while you have it suppressed from range
hm
Not sure how to use this information. Can't remember the last time I saw anyone actually use an AT emplacement.
I mean there was one time, but he was using it to snipe infantry until someone threw a satchel on him đ¤Ł
speaking of, if there's a satchel on a tank, is there anything I can do as nearby infantry to get the satchel off the tank?
hang out on maps like foy or purple heart lane when there's a bunch of higher level people playing... it's almost necessary
also they never really expect it till you start firing
I've gotten an impression that when used well they're really good, it's just that they require a little bit of planning/organization so they're less common
I've kind of thought about trying to get one up on... that one urban map with the triangular set of roads in the middle point
There's consistently someone driving around with a tank in there and our armor is never able to push in
So my thought is maybe you get a grenadier to smoke off the entrance to buy you time to get a gun up waaaaaay back that you can use to control that road
Though everything in my head from knowing irl doctrine screams that an offensive at gun is as dumb as it gets
they take so little supplies to build there literally is no reason why you wouldn't be using them imo.
How expensive are they? NVM found it, only 50 supplies
Man supports are like, really useful
The at gun is actually kind of OP
You weren't around when ir was buffed
It was hell on earth
They never even nerfed it
I think everyone just forgot it was op and moved up
Also I've sometimes seen markers on squads in the join list
How do those work?
Like a little shield or whatever
SL chooses to generally indicate what the squad is doing
optional to show potential joiners
on the SLs respawn screen, you click on
They did, it's 3 shots now and slower to place the blueprint
or 1 shot with 3 guns... đ¤
3 hull shots that is
Yeah AT guns are super good
One manpower node near the front doubles their usefulness, such a shame that you never see that because it's so much simpler to place all the nodes in the same safe spot and be done with it. It might not seem like a lot, but when you get supplies every 150 seconds, you're begging for someone to take them
Hi all, I just bought the game but am struggling to get in - every server I join, once I get past the queue, times out with connection to server lost. Any ideas?
Can you get in empty or half-full servers?
It's nice in HQ because it's very accessible on a short respawn timer
I bet you're installed on an HDD and not an SSD
Also, make sure to take a look at the ping of the server before you join.. it's listed on the far right of each server in the server list..
It can take long enough to load the map the server times you out
I guess, but I abhor redeploying only to redeploy again. I play support eagerly enough, but not THAT eager
and yes HDD because I have a tiny SSD for my OS
yeah, this game doesn't do well on HDD's.. đŚ
this_changes_everything.gif
I would literally do so many things in order to double the uptime of a support it's not even funny
As long as someone wants them. Too many times I've had to shoot an officer in the leg to get their attention to save the team
Anti tank guns, garrisons everywhere, barbed wire and tank traps everywhere, more garrisons everywhere...
I'm kind of bad about pestering my support so I know the moment his box comes off CD so we can get something new up
I'm partially coming at this from the perspective of a planetside PL, where a good rule of thumb is "whoever has the most spawns wins" so... yeah. I'd happily just drive around a supply truck setting up garries some games.
Spawns are the most important thing in HLL
Putting the spawns where people will spawn in the places you need*
unless you are german at and its a medium
you can 2 shot a medium to the front
Yeah cause this game is silly business sometimes
they did a few updates ago
best thing to do as support is drop box and swap roles so someone else can drop box fast
mood
You did it, you won, congratulations
honestly bothers me how rockets do more rear damage when they are heat rounds meant to go through side to kill crew or detonate rounds
imagine how annoying tanking would be if rockets penetrated front armor
they do tho
at least if you are axis
you can 2 shot up to medium
and also 2 shot heavies in rear while allies need 3
no it's still 3
the difference is in what sides they can pen, not damage
nothing like immobilizing a panther and calling in the airforce
i feel the bazooka deserves a side pen damage buff considering it was designed for it
rockets as a whole should prob have max range reduced to semi historical levels instead of 750 for bazooka and 950 for shrek
nah rocket spam is so bad when you can pen sides it's extraordinarily difficult to angle against the hordes of rockets, if anything they should nerf the shrek
Ye that'd do it too
Rockets feel kinda weak when you dont have shrek or hit it anywhere but behind
Why is Germany not called by its true name with its true symbols but the Soviet Union stays the same. They both committed atrocities. If you want to remain fully unbiased change it to Russia. Some games also do the same thing with calling Japan, "Imperial Japan Empire".
My guess is maybe to keep it YouTuber friendly?
Like how youtubers substitute the swastika for the iron cross usually
I'd be fine to see them remove the hammer & sickle entirely from the game, and simply use the red star for the soviet's iconography. However, to call the Soviet Union simply "Russia" would reduce the many member states to just one; that would no doubt be more offensive. It is not necessary to call Germany by the Third Reich, as in popular media about the war, that distinction is already made and it simply referred to as Germany most often than not.
Uhm. Germany was, in fact, Germany...
It was indeed called by its true name the whole time
Heck it isn't even that big of a deal
Somebody wanna play in 1-2h
Germany has its real symbol?
Its the balkenkreuz for the heer
If someone changes class, do their emplacements stay up?
e.g. supply crates, barbed wire, at guns, etc.
ye
that seems... potentially really strong.
It is
Potentially asking a stupid question, if it'd be possible for a single squad to crash build an entire mess of defensive emplacements in a matter of like 5-10 minutes doing this, how come I never see it?
Because people are bad at working together, and also in warfare defensive emplacements hurt you just as often as they hurt the enemy because people put them in stupid places
It takes a while to do that could be spent doing something better
Assuming you're on defense anyway, what's the tradeoff?
I'm including garries in the "defensive emplacements" here
In warfare you can proximity cap, so putting down defenses doesn't stop cap weight from being applied to you, and if it's in the wrong spot it hurts you more than the enemy
Can be used to push you back or hold you back
Like people blocking off SMDM town road on warfare just hurts Germans trying to drive out of there
That part isn't in conention
Barbed wire can especially be hindering
I'm assuming that whoever here is acting is competent
Most competent people dont make defence because it's often unneeded
And cover can often be used by aggressor to gain a foothold in circle
You can put a gary inside a bunker which is pretty good because after you upgrade it when gary is inside it's pretty safe
like, bunker down, garry inside when it's just the initial structure (the logs or whathaveyou), then hammer away so you have an armored garry?
Ye
So going to head in for a first game soon.
Are there servers available that get us used to the game, e.g. that don't already involve lots of do's and don'ts, ta đ
Any OG players here willing to dm me so I can ask them a few noob questions..
lies patiently waiting to strike
"How dare you not know how the obscure gameplay mechanic works"
It's not as if it's an in depth tactical game or anything I know đ¤Ł
wow what kind of complete idiot doesn't know about [weird edge case that's been relevant in 4 games of Hell Let Loose ever]
*beats someone with a frying pan because they dont know that medics reduce suppression for teammates
Also just got out of a game where the team worked on an "uberbase" for an hour on last point and won the match with it.
Wait this is a mechanic?
I was thinking less about attack defense, and more something I see happen semi often in warfare
We capture mid, then our attack on the next zone fails, the enemy counterattacks mid and we lose it
So I'm sort of trying to figure out how to crash build something in like 10 minutes that can let my squad hold off overwhelming odds long enough for us to reorganize.
Honestly I half feel like a good "first step" is just AT mines everywhere
Yep. Suppression is dependent on allies around you, with officers and medics giving more suppression resistance|
This has been a thing for years and AFAIK the game never makes any attempt to explain this
A mythâŚ
WHAT
THEN WHAT IS THIS
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ccL9andkr-k
In my experience occupying strategically important areas around the SP does this better than fortifying the SP
a barricade can help a lil and is quick to make
but generally the uptime required to build makes it unviable compared to actually holding and gaining ground
Tbh sometimes actually fortifying a location might make it easier for you to hold
Especially when it's down to the numbers
And then they all get blown away and you die a lot anyways
Barricade takes forever to build and you just jump over it or use it for cover as the enemy. Barbed wire is much quicker yo build and way more effective. Don't use it to completely shut down an entrance but rather to funnel enemies into a point where you want them.
Barbed wire in front of barricades
That's the ideal provided the barbed wire is like 50m in front of the barricades, not 1m. And if you have to choose one, barbed wire is almost always the one to go for. Cheaper, more useful.
Long as the engineers have brains it should be fine
Don't quote me on thay
Because usually they don't
That or they're being confusing
Idk I like most engineers even if i don't always agree with what they do. It's fun to see some new thinking in the game.
As someone mentioned though, it's almost always better to work as active defense, spread out on the sector, taking down supplies, garrisons and outposts, and unfortunately a fortified SP often leads players to just sit right there and wait to get surrounded.
I think that's one more reason to just get some barbed wire down further away from the SP and not do the whole fortress approach.
