The underlying problem is the same, the complexity of these roles in the game is impossible to convey in a short text blurb in game.

New players take these roles and try to use them as a hammer when it's actually meant to be a screwdriver so ofc things go poorly. This game is just so entirely built to work when people can effectively communicate.

Unfortunately that's only gonna happen 1/5 games in a public lobby of 100 players of varied skill levels.

This game is just so entirely built to work when people can effectively communicate.
It's absolutely insane how many things need to go "right" to have a chance of a fun game in HLL. There's always this longing to be on a team that is in complete synergy and 'knows what to do', though that's only half of the equation for a satisfying game. You THEN have to be playing against a team that is competent enough to where you're not just steamrolling with your team.

The game's simply not designed well to encompass all these moving parts. How many "good games" does someone have in HLL every time they play for a session?

Unfortunately, the less you know about HLL, the more you enjoy it.

It's been interesting watching both devs teams -particular Black Matter in the game's infancy, continually adding branches of gameplay in an attempts to deepen the experience, while not actually making the game any more fun or satisfying to play with those additions.

This did nothing but add unneeded complexity to a game that quite frankly didn't need it. It's done nothing but make the game confusing for most of its players, new players especially. Can you imagine new players thinking they're booting up a large scale 50v50 ww2 game, then being met with all these arbitrary 'gameplay' things that don't involve just fighting over objectives with WW2 weaponry? It's no wonder HLL loses players faster than it can keep despite whatever 'addition' gets introduced.

Next fix the ADS FOV mechanic. Having a separate slider is the right direction but it's not universal. The weapons still default to their respective base ADS FOV values and the slider acts as a multiplier. Above 90 the slider has no effect on FOV even though it shows that you can use higher than 90.

@fluid pawn running the latest build 1036381 crashing, running the one EG accidently pushed on the 18th 1037865, crashing, the one prior crashing, its time to just accept theres a critical issue with update 18, i dont care about gameplay changes but server stability has been impacted to a point where its no longer viable, we have logged 118 crashes on 5 servers since the update

Those CMD arty changes are way too much when all combined. Especially the price - it was high enough even for the old number of 100 ammunitions.

Also the cooldown should be tied to the amount of used circles. 1 circle should be equal to 3m30s. So if the CMD would use 2 circles, the power would be cooling down for 7 minutes and if he would have used all 3 circles, then it would be 10m30s until he would be able to use any form of the CMD arty again.

Or.. you could have done the same with the price:
1 CMD arty circle used at a time = 100 ammunition
2 CMD arty circles used at a time = 225 ammunition
3 CMD arty circles used at a time = 375 ammunition

Now the CMD arty got much worse than the current HQ arty guns. More expensive, less accurate and with a long cooldown (while arty guns never had any cooldown).

This game and logic are far appart from each other. The things is no one ever had a reason to use something else. Mediums and light were far weaker and not close as fast as now.
They didnt even really nerf Heavys (aside from the bugs), but mainly buffed mediums and lights to make them better and not obsolete the second you get a heavy ready.

The map is going to have dependency important changes elsewhere in the code (because the architecture is probably that in competent). The probably do not know for sure what changes to dependencies are critical for the Stalingrad map to still work.
