I have a question.
Has there ever been a discussion around emplacements for squad leaders, like in the game Squad?
Such as a 50cal, mortar, indirect fire bunker, tank pits, or anything else that was used during WW2.
I think it would add quite a bit to the game, especially if it was made to interconnect with what engineers can build.
For example, a sand bag wall then place a 50cal on it.
It would also make the support class a lot more useful with resources.
Make it a new level for the leader class, like 6 or 8 perhaps.

Mods/admins should fix the PTE channel dropdown section and everything in it - it's all invisible until one checks "Show All Channels" option on discord server. Nobody knows any of it exists because it's invisible by default in "Browse channels" which is an option pretty easy to miss to begin with. ( #🔴pte-status , #pte-how-to-join , #pte-17-1-discussion , #1343078597333745724 - all defaulted to be invisible). I bumped into the section just now and just by pure chance when I tried "Show All Channels" option after a long while again.

Then the devs can wonder why just so few PTE feedbacks are coming in in the discord, or why everybody discusses it in the #mess-hall and not in the proper channel created for it. Well, here's the answer:

I know, I would agree if there were just handful of servers. But there are plenty of them, nobody's forcing you to play on that specific server. Also, the server owner pays for his server, it's his choice. It's obviously not because of one's nationality/ethnicity, just because one can't speak the language for instance.

By setting it to accept only the players who have set specific nationality on their Steam profile (or manually), he ensures only his countrymates get in...

Imagine the server browser as a street, public servers are bars and clubs and community ones are residential houses. Your house needs to be on the street for people to enter, but its your house, and you are not gonna welcome strangers to it. Your house, your rules. If those rules are too specific, your house party will die off. But language as a requirement for communities big enough to support it works fine. Maybe also consider the fact people playing on them dont want to speak english, but their own language.

A person not fullfilling the server requirements and feeling discriminated against is the same as if a stranger wanted to go to your house and you said no and they didn't like that. At the end of the day, they pay for it and they set whatever rule they want. You wouldn't want someone else setting rules for your house.

Reforger also does a really poor job at facilitating squad play. Being in a squad is pointless.
If your server runs a mod that shows everyone on the map - great. If it doesn't, everyone just splits in solo squads anyway, since no one likes not seeing others on the map.
The only squad running benefit is essentially having an OP, but because OP's require supplies, that also becomes dumb. Since if you bring a veh with supplies, the veh just despawns.

I guess the transporting aspect warrants a bit of comms in more vanilla based servers, since here (in WCS), most people just use their own transports. With supplies being abundant in a 128 player server, it's easier just to get a jeep and drive to the next closest point instead of waiting around for a transport heli, on whom getting on you instantly reduce your survival chances.

On Steam we are able to have a separate application where we can host in-development playtests for the community to give us feedback.
