Defense (and Offense) scores are meaningless in relation to how balanced the teams are - these 2 types of score are gained automatically by time spent in the red or blue territory, nothing more.

It works like this:
+20 **offense **score per minute when being in **red **territory
+20 **defense **score per minute when being in **blue **territory

So, they have nothing to do with a player's skill or actual experience or balance of the teams. Even AFK/inactive players get those when they are spawned and alive.

When playing OFFENSIVE gamemode for example, the defending team will naturally have almost entirely only defensive score as they won't be spending time in the red territories almost at all, while the attacking team will have the exact opposite with having almost just offensive score.

• The only thing that matters when it comes to the in-game indication of aiming/killing skill, is the Combat score. But even there one needs to check one's class because the score is not obtained just by the kills, but also by placing the mines or destroying the enemy vehicles +one can switch classes during the round.
• If you rly want to see the kills balance only, it is best to check the server's C-Rcon page and see how many kills who had (only for the community-hosted servers and only those who are using it ofc). Example: http://208.115.248.101:7010/games/28708/charts

to add to sam, officers skill also shows in support score, as they get points for people spawning on garrisons and outposts (if ur under 1000 support score, you better check your attitude in SL chat)

I have learned to be checking the scoreboard as often as the tacMap and look for who is the enemy commander at the start too - usually, whoever gets 30 support score and then flips to 80, is a CMD that drives a supply truck and just used the Supply drop.

Knowing his name (or rather his level) is a good indication how it will go regarding the enemy backup garri situation... roughly.

Ping is basically just the time it takes to reach the server, so beyond finding a server situated closer to you, there's not much you can do.

You have some control over how the signal travels through your house. Wireless networks can add some noticeable delays depending on how its set up. But if you have an ethernet connection that becomes basically neglicible.

The ping while in-game is tied to server performance, but I'm not sure if it's tied to client performance? Assuming it is, your FPS would have to be pretty low for it to be noticeable. With 60fps you would only see a latency of 8ms (1000ms / 60fps / 2).

I would say, it depends 50/50, maybe on official servers or some special servers with Crossplay, it could be, but not at all servers, somebody has friends from PC and console, so why not let them play on special servers together

Slow right down. You become much harder to see if you stop moving. Use cover. Learn the direction of the fight. Don’t run across fields. Stick with the team. Listen to all sounds and directions of those sounds. It will take awhile to get the hang of it. Its not your usual FPS you see out these days.

Situations I have seen on various HLL console videos are... how to put it... way under the level I would expect from the real pro-like ones. Like I said, team-based, ✅ , large scale, ✅ , shooter, ✅ , WW2, ✅. But that's about it. The only thing you could take HLL hardcore for is the fact that it's pretty much one-hit-kill. But that's really where the similarities end.

Like you've already said yourself before, HLL basically is Battlefield but one-hit-kill. There is no real depth to logistics, suppression and tanking, and losing manpower doesn't get punished, something all of which Squad 44 puts an extremely high emphasis on. At the same time, stuff like dismantling enemy spawns in HLL takes mere seconds (I think?) while in Squad 44, it requires a dedicated class (AT or sapper) to take down an enemy spawn truck (and cooperation with other team mates to secure the enemy spawn until friendly sappers are in position). I guess I don't need to talk about tanking.

Communication in HLL is highly adviced, but the game works without, even if not well. If no one talks in a Squad 44 match, you can pretty much Alt F4 because your team is incapable of putting up an actual fight.

Medics are pretty much worthless in HLL while in Squad 44, they are a very powerful and actually important class to play.

Squad 44 enforces historical loadouts and allows 0.0% customisation while HLL is heavily built around grind, skins and cosmetics.

And last but not least, imagine being an HLL player with 1,000 hours and switching over to Squad 44, expecting the game to play similarly or even the same because, apparently, they are oh so similar. You're gonna be in for a big surprise, probably getting frustrated about being stuck with a bolt-action rifle. And if I with 1.8k hours in Squad 44 switched over to HLL, expecting the game to play similarly or even the same because, apparently, they are so similar, I'd be in for a big surprise, probably getting upset for a criminal lack of comms, way too many automatics, anachronistic weapons, dumb tank warfare and mindless meatgrind charges.
