Things change all the time on your system, ISP, network. Without changing anything. I'd also be sure your Windows is fully patched\updated including "optional" and flip switch for "other Microsoft products".

Last but not least you can try doing a NETWORK RESET in Windows. It will appear to do nothing but after about 3 or so minutes it will auto-reboot your system.

I believe Squad might be a little more taxing on the GPU than HLL, not entirely sure on that one though. For CPU it should be roughly equal.

My undoubtfully best method of being the best human ever is the following:
Play normal roles until you know 80% of what a SL does, then play SL.
Play SL until you know 80% of what a Commander does, then play commander.

If you're lvl 55, pick up commander, be ready for sheet to hit the fan. Personally, I'd give some pointers, but I'm SL'ing to SL, not to teach how to play commander.

But using that 10000% guaranteed method, will result in you learning more, others not getting pissed off and everyone having a blast.

You're missing the point a bit. Every PTE up until now has more or less just been a trustfall from the devs, hoping that people on their own will install a 40+ gb variant of the game just to volunteer their time to actually playtest. Unfortunately, it's just not going to drum up anything useful. Every PTE weekend has a player peak of maybe up to 140 players spread across a handful of NA/EU servers, people play for a couple matches, then log off, uninstall it.. Maybe they put the time in to make a couple bug reports/feedback forums.

Now over the last two PTEs we've seen the devs extending the opportunity for the community to get actively involved in the process, not with a blind trustfall, but organizing community PTE events like the El Alamein scrim and the Razbora community events. So 🤞 this will allow them to get actually useful data/feedback from the PTEs moving forward.

It's an unintentional middle ground ala half-backed mechanics. That definitely has its appeal. HLL widespread success is more or less built on the back of this unintentional mix of gameplay. And it unfortunately makes the work of actually improving a game that is popular on the back of being unfinished very hard.

The only game I'd confidently say HLL feels like is the RS2 on account of that also being in the 'middle ground' I talk about. However, HLL has never been as satisfying as RS2 for me. I would probably still be playing RS2 if it had functioning VOIP and a lively community.

There's not a lick of difference. Just open the server browser, look for a server with above 70 players and semi-decent ping, and join it.

Also you don't need to sit on discord to comm. Everyone talks in-game.
