Check out this German produced, M40/55, Finnish contract helmet I restored and converted, first I stripped the old paint off and removed all the rust, then painted it in German Wartime, Field Gray Dark (a gray green color), with fine aluminum oxide texturing and baked in a paint oven. Then painted in a "Normandy" camouflage paint scheme with sand texturing, mixed in and then made a Full Skirt, chicken wire basket and painted it to looked a little rusty. And finally added a Ukrainian made, reproduction German M31 liner.
