Let me explain what I've observed about Lumen so far:
Most of the lighting in the game is baked into the levels, placed manually by the designers to make said levels easier to see in. The art direction of Ready or Not relies on this type of lighting for many of its areas.
When you use Lumen, it overrides all of the pre-baked ambient light in the game and replaces it with the Lumen method. As such, Lumen can only account for certain lighting that isn't the bulk of the hand-crafted lighting Ready or Not has. Primarily; real-time lights, emissive textures, and sky lighting. These are all things that can produce light for Lumen, but the rest is left in the dust.
Because Lumen removes a huge chunk of the game's intended lighting, it doesn't work well with Ready or Not's levels, but it can produce cool effects under certain in-game lighting conditions.

Yes. Many of the game's areas are going to be dark with Lumen on, because as I explained, Lumen doesn't have many light sources to work with, and it erases all of the manual brightening the developers did.
For example, take a look around the shooting range. Do you see any lights on? Anything that would actually produce the bright room you see in the vanilla game? In real life, the shooting range would be extremely dark because of the lack of lights, so that's how it is in Lumen as well. The developers manually brightened that area, but Lumen overrides that.
@tropic glade The lighting artifacts on the desk text are a normal result of implementing Lumen into Ready or Not. The backside of the police logo emits light, and because Lumen is imprecise with close-up geometry, you get those artifacts. RoN levels were not designed to be lit by Lumen. This artifacting also appears in many other places, because the light sources not plentiful or strong enough, meaning Lumen can't work fast enough to fill in the missing rays of light.
Yeah alrigth that makes sense, you think its plausable for the devs to implement lumen in the future?
It would require them to rebuild and redesign every level's lighting rig from the ground up to support Lumen and somehow preserve the art direction at the same time. I am very doubtful Lumen would ever work in RoN's levels without tons of tedious and manual effort, and given that Lumen is new, imprecise, and overall impractical for general use, I doubt the devs would ever want to invest in it.

With the recent update the engine got updated from ue 4 to ue 5 so pretty much all mods that were made for the old engine no longer work you'll have to wait for updates on them and there's no guarantee they will get a update.

There are balaclava characters in the character select in multiplayer and mods were made to replace some characters in single player with the balaclava characters.

I don't think the devs have explicitly given this update a name so technically I believe this is still considered 1.0 just with unreal 5 and DLC update.

due to the amount of assets in Arsenal Overhaul I am planning to remake it from scratch, as most of the stuff cannot be updated to 5.3 and has to be redone.
i will include a majority of the features from the old version but it will be a little different

That would be super helpful, the site just uses UnrealPak.exe tool from UE, but it's from UE4
Some people were still able to get the 4.27 script to work, but I was not and I don't know why
I DM'd you the new script, it starts at the top level ReadyOrNot folder, instead of Content like the last one
Oh and also I think you may need the new 5.3 paking files to use the new script, but I did not test

It’s probably because they’re outdated and likely has something to do with the fact they updated the engine from ue 4 to ue 5

They are not up to date if they’re before July 23 2024 and if they were made for RoN 1.0 that is no longer the latest update.

yeah before i would get like typically constant 165 fps locked with occasional drops to like 60 even 50 during firefights and known fps drop areas on maps
but now it seems to be a lot more stable, which is nice
I'm using the normal lumen and it's honestly worth it, light and reflections do look a bit more "real"
no big fps drop with the normal version as far as it seems
(rtx 3080, ryzen 5 3600 @ 4.2GHz OC'd in case you wanted to compare)
Only problem, sometimes light seems to be a bit "foggy"
some mods say to have a folder called ~mods in the paks folder, and some say to just have a folder called mods does it matter?
This new DLC is really good. I love the environmental storytelling and when playing dorms how crazy and chaotic it is.

Howdy everyone, after the DLC release I cleaned my mods and save data, and today I download a couple of updated mods, Gunfighter, Blood and In Game Menu, all installed in the pak folder but for some reason the game won't load the mods, and I launching with Dx12
Are you doing subscriptions in mod.io? If so, don't since it doesn't work well. Use manual downloads from mod.io or nexus as described in #❓modding-faq-archive
That's the weird part, all manual install and NOT launching the game in safe mode. I'll try to delete mods, verify files and install again.

No, the way I am checking if the mods are enabled is by looking at the available slots, with gunfighter there should be 25, I have the default 11.

You should be able to see by by shooting surrendered suspects, or getting different scoring by killing them in general. It's been a while since I used it so I do not remember.

I dont want to delete my saved data but i want to delete the mods. Where in files for the game are the mods located so i can delete them from there??

Yea so anything that was functioning in ue 4 does not seem to function in ue 5.
For my liquor store map mod, I made a bunch of kitbashed suspects from different civilian bodies and heads. I think I may do that again and replace some of the vanilla datatables the distinction between enemy and civilian isn't always so clear cut.

I know. For alpha there was a really cool map that was a recreation of the Bin Laden raid. It never even got updated for 1.0. That was my favorite map in the history of the game, even considering official maps.

Gunfighter basic has the folder structure messed up. As the description says for IGM, the UI is not present in this version. The mod components work on their own in the background

The textures, etc. are not just loose files in the game, they are engine specific assets in UE games. So an engine change breaks the ability to use old ones.
Yessir, and new mods will come out that people like better than the old ones. We’ve seen that too. It’s just part of it when it comes to studio games. We should really be thankful we have devs that support modding as much as ours here do. So many game studios just cut the fat and call it a day when it comes to mods.

Which is really annoying. The suspect AI was massively improved in this patch, they're more mobile and make better use of the environment

I would say it’s because the suspect AI has be complained about since launch. While the actual SWAT aI either doesn’t matter in multiplayer or wasn’t cared about because the player was hard pushing everything.

no, so basically with this mod you can shoot any suspect at any time and under any circumstances without getting a "Unauthorized use of Force" Penalty, if you shoot civis you'll still get it, but you can e.g. kill a suspect who has already surrendered

You'd have to extract files from the pak throw the model in blender to turn it into an FBX and throw it in unreal and cook it for UE5 and while I say that like it's simple unless you already know how to do it, it's not simple.
Also assuming the modding process for models is relatively the same as the UE 4 process

I can’t say I’ve noticed a a significant improvement to the AI because I’m so used to a fully modded RoN that playing thru the current vanilla experience still feels like constant aggressive shootouts, but I have noticed enemy AI taking hostages more frequently, and today I feel like I've come across more knife wielders. I mean I wouldn't mind helping you through the process since you already know blender but I only know the UE 4 process for importing and replacing a model I'm not sure if anything has changed that process with the UE 5 update. I've only done a couple of retextures myself and got those working so far.

Not sure about the AI but qol mod is outdated, so delete it.

I've deleted all mods prior to launching, including the mod.io folder and mod save state files in Appdata/Local/Ready or Not. I still get the serialization error when launching DX11/12. Is reinstalling the game the last option I have?

Reinstalling the game does not delete mods
Make sure you cleared out the mod.io folder in the windows public folder as well if you haven't already - C:\Users\Public

right now they are pretty solid despite some clunks here and there, but it depends if you want them to never miss shots or have more health. There is only so much that they can do without the game becoming easy mode

just better accuracy and perception range, they still die without the perk veteran. i keep covering them in tight hallways and theyd clunk up and die to an enemy shooting long range
they're not even shooting back at enemies utilizing cover from far away, or an enemy shooting through a window, shouldve recorded a video this happened at the hospital map

also make sure that, in the paks folder of RoN, the mods aren't in other folders (e.g. maps, guns, etc) then they will not work

no, but e.g. the maps from HomeInvasion DLC but most mods are client side, so both sides are required to have the mods installed in order to have them working for both sides too.

for some reason when i logged on i had corrupt date. stupid me deleted map ''modi.io'' and map ''3971''. realising i couldnt play any mods after. ever since ive been trying to get it back.
so i did manually added back the 2 maps. and searched on io for the file name and extracted it back and boom i have corrupt data again

It's really recommended to leave them as is because the number is there to set it's place in the load order but as long as the mods don't have any conflicting files it isn't that big of a deal but note if you choose to do this RoN sorts the files in alphabetical order.
You can alternatively make custom mod folders just put ~mods at the start of them if you do that.
