I just like to go in with them so I'm more involved. But in this case, he just flashed and did a 180 in the doorway. They're supposed to flash, go through the threshold and clear both sides even if they're just 2 people stacked on the door

And, of course, not be oblivious to a suspect right next to them, but that's another thing.

Not exactly. I'm just trying to figure out if killing suspects grants you a lower score than incapacitating them.

Because I always noticed that focusing on incapacitations ended up giving me and my friend higher ratings, than killing a lot of suspects. I know the comparrisons are not perfect 1:1, but the first lethal run has significantly more people dead, than having that 1 arrested person on the incapacitation run. So the first lethal run should still outweigh whatever difference that 1 arrested person could make over the rest of the incapacitated.

If you feel like it, you could make a test of your own where you completely kill everyone and completely incapacitate everyone (not counting Michael, as he's an objective) or just re-do the second one I got A on by having only incapacitated suspects. And see if it gives A just because of that one arrested suspect.

Okay, yeah. It makes no difference. I did a rerun. Those 5 points are the bridge between B and A. So yeah, as long as it's not about an objective arrest like Michael, Brixley, Voll and so on, there is no difference between killing a suspect and incapacitating them. I was wrong.
I also did a run on Thank You, Come Again and mag-dumped everyone to death and got A+.

It depends on the map. In the "Valley of thee Dolls" there are a lot of windows and windows with blinders, but suspect AI seems to ignore the "blinders" part, so they can see you through something you can not see. Same problem has the "Greased Palm", but it happens rarely as suspects near blinders are pretty rare there.

Yeah, the beginning part from the roof, some suspect might spot you on the stairs and will start blasting, but you usually can see them too.
Other situation, when suspect shot me, while I was behind a wall are pretty fair, as they saw me.

Irl the biggest difference between SERT and Patrol is training in most cases. SERT may have some fancy gear but with the exception of Bear Cats and maybe flashbangs many officers have SERT gear they purchased personally like helmets, shields, gas masks and rifle rated armor.

The evolution of what was considered SERT level threats pre Columbine to now in the US is such where as a general rule SERT is very rarely used because of the time associated with deployment. Pretty much any engaging threat is gonna be handled at the patrol level. Accordingly, most patrol officers in the US are more or less one man SERT teams and train accordingly

I've seen sert outside of training twice. Once at an officer down and once at a double homicide with a possibly barricaded suspect.

I used the beanbag shotgun on most of the maps, and also something I found that a lot of people don’t do is use the CS gas, it’s really useful for getting S tiers on maps and clearing out spacious rooms.

Remember Sinjar where the terrorist immediately shot RPGs and shot the Security Forces spawn with RPKs down the hill ? Good times! I loved playing sniper and going out the other way of the spawn and shoot the people on the ledges and making flanks. That map was awesome, I'm sad they changed it in Sandstorm.

All it takes are smokes along the road. It's why I ran an M16 with a smoke nade launcher, heavy vest and more smokes, I had like 5 smokes that I shot all over the place. Carried a lot of 1st point pushes with it. I could smoke the ridgeline if I aimed right from the middle section.

It works if you want the capacity and it provides more protection against explosives, so if you were constantly aiming to be all up into the shit, it helped. If you're not around hot zones to make use of the explosives mitigation or trying to carry more, you're wasting points on it. Unless I was the "designated smoke guy", I always ran no armor and just zipped around with light weapons and going for flanks.

Most of the breakpoints you get with heavy armor in sandstorm just don't matter. In theory you can stand an extra half meter closer to explosions and live, or avoid getting one hit killed by some of the stronger DMRs/Snipers at range, but it's irrelevant 99% of the time. You might get 1-2 extra hits from pistols in sandstorm with heavy armor. But you're still 2 shot killed by most rifles up to like 100m. (aka the most common weapons and engagement range)

Imo it's bad balance, considering the point cost, speed downside, etc/etc

At least in Sandstorm, they split the armor and carry capacity into two things, so now you can just ignore the useless heavy armor and still carry 5-6 smokes when the need arises.

You're only supposed to get 3 blocked hits (damage on the 4th) from anything larger than pistols.

Currently you get 7 blocked hits (dmg on 8th) because the damage calculation is broken for AI (SWAT + suspects)

With the armorer trait, you get 11 blocked hits (dmg on 12th)

And that's per plate too, so in theory you could take up to 33 hits without taking damage lul

I do not know what has happened in yur run and with out replay no one will ever know, but a suspect was dead/incap.
