Yeah games don't always nail focal length in terms of human perception. Single point infinite focus will always feel unnatural, but there's isn't much to fake it that won't cause nausea or fatigue over time.

I'd wager, for a lot of people, as cool as the cam version looks, you'd probably get a headache or eye strain within an hour or two

For things like chromatic aberration, it's also a neat effect, but I can feel my eyes trying to constantly focus because of the softened edges.

ReShade doesnt have the ability to automatically download something, its an injector not a application.
That being said, my suggestion:

• Go to the RoN directory

• Delete reshade-shaders folder

• Download the "CiNETiC" preset from Nexus
  (This is not to get one download more, rather cause i uploaded all necessary shaders with it)

• Open download and drag the reshade-shaders folder in there now

• Open the game

• Open the reshade menu

• HIT THE RELOAD BUTTON AT THE BOTTOM of the reshade menu

• Party hard 🎉

One criticism I have is that the mission briefing mentions Gerard using a Mini-14 to kill the EMPD officers.
Maybe edit it to say "Upon their arrival to the car, the officers were ambushed and murdered by Gerard Scott, who was armed with a Mini-14 and Tec-9."
Another one is that I would change the beginning of the second paragraph of Gerard's history to "Following his release, Gerard bought a section of land in the Redwood Forest outside of Los Suenos"
Overall, phenomenal work.

Just because 2 guns have roughly the same height between the barrel and the optic/sight don't mean the height over bore effect will always be the same since it's partially caused by how you zero the optic as well, so that's totally acceptable and can often happen irl

Sure your rifle will get more compact, but you gain absolutely nothing, ideal length is 12 inch especially if you are going to run it with a can on

getting caught on door ways, walls, people
weight, people grabbing your gun, exposing yourself as people can see it poking out, and countless other factors

every gun is "how you use it", but denying key factors simply because someone "knows how to use a gun" completely shows the opposite

that's why smgs are nice in cqc

barrel length options would be a neat goofy addition, and do matter heavily in cqc

i think what you should of said is that it probably wouldn't be added as everyone would pick the shorter barrel in a game primarily based for CQC, and it would pose threat to SMGs and pistols, making then obsolete for the game due to the caliber, barrel length, projectile strength, and stopping power of other rifles such as the M4, compared to a 9mm pistol or SMG
it would be good for a different game, and there are downsides and advantages
but it doesn't fit ready or not

Well in case of a rifle shorter barrel means bullet will have noticeably less kinetic energy short barrel variant would work well with with. 300 chambered rifles but not with standard 5.56x45
