1. tell him to try launching in safe mode (basically without mods) just to see if maybe he has outdated mod and tell him to try joining you again
2. if this doesn't work, tell him to verify files again, maybe something is corrupted or restart steam and check for another update he didn't fully do
3. if all else fails, he'll likely need to do a fresh install

Has anyone fixed the issue where you can play more than two people on multi-player on xbox?

So, an update on the multiplayer issue: I tried running the game through RADMIN VPN, with no success, but then I also tried running the game through a premium Geforce Now Account I have. Turns out the multiplayer works there. This probably narrows the issue down to Epic Online Services ("EOS") functionality on the game's side. I understand there have been statements point the issue to be on Epic's side, but I have performed connectivity tests to EOS with no issues, and playing Epic Games (such as Fortnite and other games) yields no issues. This means something about RON, along with EOS is throwing issues with some players. I would really urge VOID to look further into how they implemented EOS connectivity, as this issue only begun once EOS began being implemented and we have several reported cases. (Anecdotally, I have played this game for years now, with no multiplayer issues until the crossplay update).

Here the results of my EOS connectivity test

For the sake of thoroughness, I have also made sure my Windows Time and Date Settings have been set to automatic, and synced

As I was mentioning before, in my local computer, I am unable to start any form of Multiplayer in the game (I hadn't played the game for about 6-7 months before the Boiling Point DLC). I've tried every single proposed fix suggested so far (including several helpful tips you've provided) with no success, so I decided to try it through Geforce Now, which would essentially work as a form of VPN, and it worked. It means the issue is not with the installation, but with network connectivity.

My local computer has zero connectivity issues that I can find, including with other games running EOS, so anecdotally I can confirm the issue is more or less exclusive to RoN

Hey guys, me and my two buddies have been trying to s rank greased palms for literally over 8 hours over 2 days

we cannot beat it because the FISA agent or sometimes a suspect in the back of the post office next to the weapons cache are stuck and wont get down on the ground to be restrained, anyone know how to fix this? theyll stand there with there gun aimed at us but wont shoot and just sit there looking at us weve tried pepper spray, taser, and shooting them in the legs without incapacitating them to keep our S rank but still cant get it

If I were you, I would try to replicate the issue in a single player version of the map. I haven't played the map since the latest update, but it might be bugged. I know the Hunger Strike map has suspects become far more aggressive than before (killing hostages very quickly) and trying to complete it with an S rank in the current patch has been extremely difficult.

Hi yall! I posted this on reddit yesterday to ask but haven't gotten anything from the community so I wanted to ask here.
My friends were trying to play yesterday and something really weird was happening.
Basically I would host, friend 1 and friend 2 would join and be connected. When friend 3 would try to join it would disconnect everyone from me and friend 3 would also not be able to join. They all then get the message of connection to host timeout.
We tried switching who hosted but no matter who hosted, friend 1 or 2, as soon as friend 3 would try joining our connection would be cut and no one would be connected.
Does anyone know what's up with this or have any fix?

There could be a whole host of reason why he times out or even breaks your session. The configuration of the router would be what I would check first (making sure the game's and EOS ports are open and they have connectivity). There's too many router types and configurations for me to provide you with steps though

Different games have different network requirements, and while a lot of those requirements are standardized, there's times when a specific game might behave differently. I myself am facing a multiplayer issue where the game refuses to let me enter or host any MP match (with no errors). I've never faced a network issue with any other game.

If playing the game was the goal without moving too many configurations in the router (don't tamper with the router if you are not familiar with router configurations), I'd use a service like Geforce Now or Windscribe to try to get around a connection issue. Okay, ive spent 4 hours of tmy gameplay or more just trying to work multiplayer. the create rooms do nothing, join game does nothing, everything does nothing EXCEPT for single player. I have had this issue going on for months now. The fix @brittle sluice has worked in the past but does not seem to work since the update at all from my testing, But also it is important to note that it does not register you own any DLC you may own launching the game through this method. Part of why I joined the server in fact is because I can not get the game to work.

Something REALLY weird with the game's Epic implementation is going on for sure. I just tried using a different internet connection (a mobile hotspot), and it authenticated to Epic with my Epic handle, but if I use my Ethernet connection, it authenticates with my Steam handle. That means my router configuration is not to blame, as three completely different connections are not working, but the Geforce Now version is.

It should also not be my region (outside the U.S.) since I have tried using a VPN from within the U.S., and only RoN is having issues. Hopefully VOID is communicating with Epic to resolve the issue.

I’m on Xbox and when someone who has the dlc invites people to the game we can only get one other person in the lobby at a time. The other people get an error that they can’t connect to the host. But when someone without the dlc is the host we can all join fine. Is this a known issue with a fix or are we just never going to be able to play the DLC together

downloaded and installed new DLC a couple hours ago. Have update all nvidia and geforce drivers, have updated/uninstalled/reinstalled/signed into EPIC Games and epic games launcher. Steam account is linked to epic games. have updated steam.

Preventing ability to utilize or even interact with multiplayer functions from the homescreen or accept steam invites.

Corrupt data usually means outdated mods. A good chunk of mods from before the March 12th Boiling Point update no longer work, so it’s best to double check the dates. This list gives an idea of what is and isn’t working from before that date:

So i solved this problem, i dont think the game is optimised for the 4070 super or something, but i turned down the post processing and it fixed it so its connected to that some how

Thanks for the deets, I recommend doing a complete uninstall and reinstall of your GPU drivers, and also increasing your Shader Cache size via Nvidia Control Panel once you do that. Also this game will have a lot of issues if installed on a Mechanical Hard drive and not an SSD or .M2 drive since the Unreal 5 game engine does a lot of texture streaming and on a mechanical drive it can cause a lot of performance issues and or crashes.

Lastly did you try to launch the game with mods disabled entirely? You can also clear the games local settings and cache (you will have to rebind any prior keys you setup and redo your graphic settings and etc.. as if you launched the game for the first time but it resets everything to default)

So try this:
First try deleting just:
%localappdata%\ReadyOrNot\Saved\Config

If that does not work, go bigger and delete the whole local RoN folder:
%localappdata%\ReadyOrNot
That forces the game to rebuild its local settings/cache

Usually unlinking and relinking the account fixes the issue, just make sure that when you unlink your steam account from Epic that you RELINK the same one and not a different one.

Are all of you on the same update and patch? Consoles may not necessarily update so you may need to do it manualy. Also if your PC friend is modded, they can only join other modded servers..patch notes say that if you’re joining and you are modded, you can only join modded lobbies. An Xbox-hosted lobby is effectively an unmodded console lobby, so a modded PC player can get blocked.

A. Update all three systems first

On Xbox and PS5, manually check for Ready or Not updates.
On PC, make sure the game is current too.

This matters because recent patches included multiplayer and cross-play join fixes.(Finally FFS)

B. Turn cross-play on for all three players

Have all three go to Main Menu → Settings → Gameplay Options

Make sure Cross-Play = On
Then have the Xbox player create a fresh Friends-Only lobby and make sure cross-play is enabled during lobby creation too, since that per-lobby setting does not persist.

C. Do not reuse an old lobby

Back all the way out to the main menu
Have the Xbox player create a brand-new lobby
Then send new invites.

Tell me if it fixes it.

Sounds like a time issue...the system clock. Epic explicitly says the clock on the PC or console must be accurate for Epic Games to connect to servers. If the device time or time zone is off, Epic auth can fail or hang in weird ways. I would make sure you sync your PC and have the correct time set.

Both me and @winter linden are on PC, we are both launching the game no mods, even selected clear mods before. Both games are fresh installs, no mods whatsoever. there are 4 of us total with the issue 3 on pc and 1 on xbox

1. Fix the clock first
   Windows: turn on Set time automatically
   turn on Set time zone automatically

2. Epic directly recommends clock sync for connection problems.

Okay, so that did not work. I should also mention when I login epic pops up in the top right corner and says online, i can hit shift F3 and bring up the friends list, if I try to join someone through Epic or a steam invite, nothing happens

Even shows @winter linden is playing Ready or Not. But neither of us can select anything from the multiplayer menu. It's weird if we wait for 20-30 minutes it will connect and we can play normally no issues

Try Cloudflare DNS first:

1. Test Xbox Party chat only. If party chat works but Ready or Not game chat doesn’t, it’s probably the game/VOIP and not the headset.
   2. On Xbox go to:
   Settings > Account > Privacy & online safety > Xbox privacy > View details & customize > Communication & multiplayer
   Make sure voice/text/invites and cross-network communication are allowed.
   3. Make sure nobody has that person muted or blocked.
   4. Go to:
   Settings > General > Network settings
   Check NAT type. Open is best.
   5. Fully quit the game, reboot Xbox, reconnect headset before launching, then join a fresh lobby.

Any lost save data unfortunately can’t be recovered unless you had a manual backup.

Based on what you described, this sounds like either the game not saving properly or your save getting overwritten when you relaunch.

A couple things you can try:

1. Disable Steam Cloud for Ready or Not

Steam Cloud can sometimes overwrite your local save with an older one.

Go to:

Right click Ready or Not
Properties
General
Turn off “Keep game's saves in the Steam Cloud for Ready or Not”

Then launch the game again and see if your progress sticks after restarting.

2. Check save folder permissions

Question about the paperdoll damage indicator:

Turns out, my brother and I are seeing completely different things when we play. His paperdoll is completely blank or "empty" when he starts a mission, and the armored sections turn white when his (ceramic) armor gets hit. But mine is white everywhere there is armor from the get go. I have no way of telling where my armor has been damaged.

I cannot find a setting anywhere in the options. The only setting related to the paperdoll is to turn it off entirely.

We are both using full coverage heavy ceramic armor, and are playing the game with no mods. Any ideas what's going on?

Guys the execute command doesn't work for me. saw someone on youtube using it and it works perfectly but specifically to me it's unusable. I'll quoue a ''breach and clear'' for reds on door 1, and command blues to ''breach and clear'' on door two, then immediatly switch to reds, press z for execute - and what happens (constantly) is that reds will 'fall in'', blues will leave their door (2), and go to execute red's command on door 1.

hey so i just started playing, and every so often (usually on the bigger maps) i completely crash and get a driver timeout issue. it could very well be an issue with my drivers themselves but figured id ask here first, i have a amd ryzen 7600 gpu and chip, asus tuf b850 motherboard, and im runnign about 16 gb of ddr5,

its also only on this game it happens, i run other pretty intensive games (helldivers, modded mc, beamng drive etc) without issue

Or are you using one of those built in BIOS overlock features where there is a factory preset that overclocks your board? On those Asus boards they have a few presets as well and I am wondering if you have one selected. Also, worthwhile doing is maybe seeing if your BIOS needs an update, may be an issue with your RAM speed as well. I recommend just resetting everything to stock and seeing if it improves:

1.In AMD Adrenalin, remove any GPU tuning

2. In Ryzen Master, go back to default if you changed anything

3. If EXPO/XMP is on, turn it off for one test session
   4.Make sure you disable any underclock and overclock , undervolt, frame-gen tweak, Chill, Anti-Lag, Enhanced Sync, or custom power tuning while testing.

If that does not work, I would then use AMD Cleanup utility, remove any drivers, reboot and reinstall the drivers, I would download them ahead of time before you run the AMD Cleanup utility.

when i try launch the game on dx11 or 12 it doesnt launch, i deleted all the mods for it and i am forced to play on safe mode

try to use the repair magic button on steam, then try to launch the game if not usefull try to delete your save data then try to launch the game. doesnt wotk? just reinstall the game and install your mod and dependancie one by one to see what mod are outdated (just to be clear yes one mod maybe have corrupt something in your save or files with the new update)

seems weird that only one mod destroyed your save i've tried to dl many mod after the update and only 1 time that need me to save reset.
are you sure you have completly delete the mod you have tried to install?
and yes it will reset everything to scrap even the graphics settings and controls mapping

advice: if you want to mod your game just do it with nexus mod and there vortex mod manager its a "one click install" even without the vortex mod manager its easier for you to manually install a game from nexus then doing it from mod.io (for the deleting part its so easier)

hello @shy sand did your game work now? if no for me it maybe could come from your graphics settings try to lower the settings until it work or the game is not playable try to use the nvidia app if you have a nvidia gpu to set the game recommanded graphics settings (if don't work maybe your graphics card not ready for this game and so you need to upgrade your pc sorry)

I've been having this issue for the past 2 days. Every time I jump into the game in the bottom right, it's stuck on the "Authenticating connection to epic". I feel like I've tried everything, from reinstalling the game, to deleting all mods, to reinstalling epic games launcher and their EOS. I've even tried, as stated in an forum, un-linking, then re-linking my steam account to epic games. Can anyone help?

I'm going to try it, but I donñt have a lot of hope. It seems to be a discrepancy between what RoN interprets as credentials, and what Epic does. I've had the game sign me in as two different users, depending on if the Epic Launcher is open or not.

As expected, it didn't work. The issues are almost assuredly on RoN's side. Since the patch released, I can't play multiplayer, EOS behaves erratically with the game, and then a couple of days ago it deleted all of my saved data. Never had an issue with any other Epic connected game.

Hello, I'm having problems with the Steam Cloud syncing and I lost all my cosmetic achievements in multiplayer games.

I was playing on my PC when I had the game open and I tried shutting down, I assume the game didn't close properly. I then opened the game later into the day on my laptop and a Steam Cloud error appeared (I forgot what exactly it said). When I joined my friend's multiplayer game, I lost all of my cosmetic achievements despite having unlocked it already on steam. I opened the game on the Commander gamemode and my game progressed saved as well as cosmetic achievements.

If you are using mods, delete them and the file they were in. After that you should be able to restart without RoN crashing, If you want your mods back: just ad them one by one and start up RoN after downloading each mod to see which one caused the crash and find an alternative for the mod or wait until it is updated. This is because a lot of mods are broken after the update. (Most are fixed by now.)

Hello. Ive been having this issue for two days where i launch the game, go to a black screen and then getting this error prompt.
Ive tried deleting all my mods and unmanaging the game with nexus, then doing the 2 and 4th pinned msg. Ive also re-installed the game.
It launches properly in safe mode but as soon as i try directx12/11 it crashes.
