The DLC does not have any files in it, all content is in the base game, it's only an unlock key.

And you can always uninstall the game, manually delete any leftover files from disk and then do clean install.

Just to prevent confusion, screen tearing is caused by the difference between frame present and monitor sync interval, it does not in any way cause the game to be unplayable unless you are missing too many sync events and that mostly happens if you have bad cable, broken monitor or low refresh rate.

Hi there, a little bit before the dark waters update i was using some mods for RON and all the sudden the game would not launch. since the update i have cleared all my mods and vortex, uninstalled the game, reinstalled verified all files. made sure the pak files where only the ones i need, updated my drivers. and nothing seems to work. any launch option wont start up and i even did a launch clean/ save data start up

In DirectX 12 (which is the default renderer), the game compiles shaders on loading screen, the amount of time it takes to do this is directly proportional to how many CPU threads your PC has and how powerful these are.

This process will repeat every GPU driver update or if you modify video settings to some combination the compilation didn't catch yet.

I reinstalled my NVIDIA drivers by a clean install. Essentially just reinstall driver and do a clean install, which deletes the prior installed version you had. No idea how, but that worked for me.

It's called rubber banding. Everyone playing must be in the same region OR must not be wearing Steel armor to help fix it.

Hey y'all! Been achievement hunting in RoN, trying to get Big Shell Specialist. I dropped one suspect from the helo pad to the corner of the lower platform (hit him in the nose) so I figure that one should count. Hit another suspect in the jaw through a wall in the break room cafeteria from the yellow line across outside the fire pumps on the lower level. Still didn't get the achievement.
Is there some kind of bug where you have to own the DLC or be the host to earn the achiv? Maybe the Jaw doesn't count for a headshot? Can the shot not be a wall bang? I'm lost on this one.

Greetings, I know RoN doesn't officially support Linux, but I've seen it works on Linux for several people on protondb.com so wanted to give it a try again.
When I try to launch the game it just closes again, no error message, the game never starts, it just goes from "Launching" to being closed again.
This happens with DX12 and DX11, Clean start, and Safe Mode, and with several versions of Proton (Specifically Proton 9, 8, 7, 6.3, Hotfix, and Experimental)
I'm on Kubuntu 24.04

I have it running on the latest version of Pop_Os using Proton 9.0-4 and DX11. I have to start it from the steam app as launching it from a shortcut defaults to dx12, which is broken on my system. Double check that you aren't using any betas for the game in the steam game properties (but I think the developers disabled all the betas) and that you aren't using any mods.

The only remotely RoN related thing in that situation is that Main Menu scene runs by default uncapped framerate.
So it uses your GPU to the max, assuming you don't already have framerate limit.

I Purshased the dark waters DLC, but I cannot play it. it says I need to finish Ready Or Not campain, but I already did it. I did all missions in commander mode in Ready Or Not tab

Catfish and I tried a deep dive into his issue with RoN not working on a RX5700 XT. We were unable to resolve the issue.

He has no problem running any other game or app, but RoN causes him a hard crash / system reboot about 5-25 seconds after loading into the RoN menu.
The best clue we've had from Event Viewer was \Driver\WudfRd failing to load correctly. No specific file is attributed. RoN logs are also empty.
Machine is on Win 11 24H2 and RX5700 XT is up to date (version from 11/2024). System is running stock and stable in all other scenarios. No RoN mods have ever been installed. Temps, clock rates, and general performance metrics show nothing abnormal.

Prelim diagnosis based on current evidence is AMD driver issue and/or temperamental RX 5700 XT.

If anyone has similar issues with RoN and a RX5700 XT please ping if you have a solution (or not).

The delta of the last patch was around 3.8GB, it repacked the entire game (60 odd GB) because SteamPipe is what it is.

Anyone know why the game frezes at 100% loading into the headquarters? Ive tried every thing only. Delete my %localappdata% folder for RoN, my drivers are updated, lower my settings, use Direct X 11 and boot the game thru the no mods setting (even though ive never installed mods) and delete the Mod.IO folder. Ive also verified the files and installed it on a new drive about 5 times. The game loads fine, but as soon as I try to enter the HQ it freezes at 100% load, an no amount of waiting does anything.

I played this game for 2 years now, and i am still having the same issues on my new PC just like on my old one (UE4 and UE5 now).
Does anyone else have the same bug where the FPS would drop SUPER LOW when being near female suspects on DX12?

Nothing i do fixes this issue apart from using DX11, which uses all my 8GB VRAM even on Lowest for some reason, has worse performance and it's generally unplayable with stutters, while DX12 plays fine on High, 70 FPS or so on the most demanding maps. But as soon as i arrest or go near a suspect with Long Hair, the FPS Drops to 15-20.

This hasn't been adressed for 2 years now, or even longer. The only temporary fix i can think of is using Textures from High to Medium, and FSR 3 from Off to Native or Quality. But restarting the mission or changing the missing reverts back the issue and it still drops frames whenever i go near a female suspect.
So what is going on?

This happened on i5 7600k and GTX 1060 6GB Pre-Release and on 1.0, and post 1.0 on Ryzen 5600X + RX 6600 XT, i even overclocked my GPU heavily and disabled everything in the background, but nothing. I mean, if Monster Hunter Wilds runs fine at Max on 60 FPS without dips, and that is one sloppy game, what is going on here?

Removing mods is easy, and putting them back again is even easier. So you can certainly try. Just Cut and Paste the Mod folder somewhere else and start the game, stress test it and see the results.

What about those NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 2GB / AMD Radeon R7 370 2GB and 8GB of RAM with an Intel Core i5-4430 that is listed as a minimum on the store page? Is that playable on lowest at 1080p/60 FPS? Because even the recommended specs can't get 1080p/60FPS at High without major stuttering.

I have a PC that goes beyond that, Ryzen 5600X and RX 6600 XT OC, i should be able to run this on Max, 120 FPS without a hitch, without FSR at 1080p. Yet that isn't the case. The game stutters here and there, and drops frames whenever it pleases. It also drops to 20 FPS when i go near anyone who has long hair because they couldn't be bothered to fix that issues for 2 years now.

Unreal Engine 5 was a mistake. Not only they are not USING it correctly and properly, the game didn't benefit from it in any graphical way. Neither did the workflow. Performance dropped by half with the upgrade.

Unreasonable why? And how is it a pipe dream, when the game already runs at High on 100-120 FPS with that setup on High (Not Max), however has other major problems that weren't resolved since EA. It's 1080p. Of course you don't need an Upscaler.

The Recommended Specs are i5-7600k and GTX 1060 6GB, which i had before during EA and when 1.0 launched. Recommended means a mixture of settings, mostly High, at a stable 60 FPS without any dips, usually 1080p. The game ran at Max, 140 FPS before 1.0.

Minimum Specs also imply a stable 60 FPS at Low. They don't mean "You can launch the game, but not play it".
Otherwise the framerate should be specified on the store page like every other modern dev/publisher does.

Did you even measure the VRAM usage of the game? Putting everything to Low, or Max doesn't decrease the VRAM load. The specs on the store page are completely and utterly false. You need a minimun and a recommended 8GB of VRAM to not pagefile, because the game on idle sucks 7700MB on Low , and goes as high as 7900MB on High Textures. Talk about good optimization. But hey, it runs on 4090! Which isn't even a consumer card. Most people have a 3060 according to Steam Survey.

I've been having an issue over the past couple days where when I launch the game it goes to the opening credits/launcher, but then freezes for about 2 seconds when it says "Fmod and communications from:" then it immediately force closes/crashes. Hey hey, I have a fun little issue where the game starts to lag/stutter after being in game for around an hour. Happens every time I play and requires a restart to fix. The fps is is stable at 120+ fps until it happens when it suddenly starts dropping to 17-18 fps
Changing graphics settings doesn't help, tried setting it all to lowest and I the problem is still there. Doesn't help to change fullscreen mode either, tried fullscreen, windowed fullscreen, and windowed with same issue occouring.
I've also tried verifying game files (twice) to no affect

You need to have enough disk space (80GB to be on the safe side, if not more) to finish patching, the game or any child process there of need to be shut down and your antivirus or whichever other similarly aggressive app needs to not block the files either.
Sometimes clearing download cache in Steam and starting the download again will fix this issue.

Did you enable any framerate limiter (vsync, FPS limit in game, in driver, etc.) ?
Like i've said, it runs unlocked framerate by default.

Also, as is traditional in "modern" games, it runs fairly computationally expensive scene for no reason.

Chances are that on High settings and above your GPU will be maxed out trying to pull even 60FPS, it really depends.

There is nothing they can do. Several people have reported this issue and they all experience the same thing; a pc shutdown

There's no way some sort of memory analyzer for unreal engine doesn't exist

yeah I don't think having someone download the SDK and attaching a debugger to the process when they have never used UE in a development setting before is an option either

I think I found a solution to my problem

I set the frame rate to the standard 60

And my 3D GPU stopped at 70%

No longer 100%

I wonder if this helps others and if they have tried it

It seems like one of the experienced guys already said to set the limit to 60 frames
