You can fail every possible objective and still unlock next mission, you just need to stay alive. To bring order to chaos you need arrest alive/incap/kill every suspect on map

The game is compiling shader cache on loading screens, that is the intended behavior.
Meaning it takes a while if your CPU is tad slower.

Currently, one of the dev confirmed that the game does invalidate the shader cache if you alter video settings every time which means every time you alter video settings your loading time gets bloated.
That issue, is I hope, going to be fixed at some point considering that no other UE5 game I've came across does this.

Stop fiddling with video settings, let the game compile shader cache and see if your other levels or next game reboot's loading times improve.

Other than that it is generally not advisable to put modern games on magnetic drives anymore.

Hello everyone,

I'm coming to you for help. After contacting support by e-mail, to no avail, they redirected me to the discord servers.
In fact, I've been playing for several months or even years without any problems, even at maximum quality.

A few days ago, I installed Direct X 12 on my computer.
Since then, RoN has been overheating my PC (GPU rising to over 95°C). For no good reason, as soon as the game is launched. I've even tried setting the graphics to minimum. Nothing works. I can run other rather greedy games, such as the latest AC, Fortnite, Call of Warzone, etc... I don't think it's the hardware. Not least because the game used to run very well.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, I've tried repairing the files, I've tried every possible version (DX11, DX12, Safe mode, etc...) the result is the same...

To tell you the truth, thinking it was coming from my physical PC, I even tried overclocking my GPU, or forcing the speed of my fans ... ALL CLEAR ... Would you have any ideas on how to get me out of this mess?

Usually, the PC shuts down in 5 minutes maximum. Here, playing for a while with really all the graphics at minimum, even rendering at 50%, I was able to make it 30 minutes even... before it shut down...

I don't know if I've made myself very clear, but if need be I'm at your disposal for further explanations.

Graphic Card : AMD 5700 XT
Intel Core i5-10400F @2.90Ghz
Windows 11 last year.

It always is the hardware, or the software controlling it.

Overclocking increases power consumption which means more heat is produced.

Note that the Main menu does not have a framerate (FPS) cap, so it runs as fast as your GPU allows it to.

If a component is overheating, it is ALWAYS down to the cooling system thereof, that means the power consumption, the thermal interface, the heat sink (mounting pressure, contact with the die, etc.), the FAN, the airflow, the room temperature, dust buildup, and so on.

Always, no matter of if it is a home PC, a server, or a fridge.

@sullen talon I don't know if someone has already replied to you, but unresolved = you have not completed all objectives, including soft. You may have lost a civ, you may have not arrested a special NPC, you may have not reported a map objective, etc.

Greased has ||incapped/dead AI|| for example.

The key is that if you have to press Y to leave, you are missing something. You don't have to S, you just have to complete everything, minus like guns I believe.

When the Home Invasion DLC came out, the in-game map menu was updated to show whether or not you have finished a mission, what your top grade is, and your best time for your best run. Unfortunately most of the missions (on my end) are impossible to get to register as completed.

Some maps work fine, but others show as "UNRESOLVED" no matter how many times I pass the mission. Can anyone think of a fix? I already verified the game files via steam and reinstalled the game, no dice. It doesn't matter if it's single player/quick play or if it's multiplayer, it doesnt work... I don't really play commander that often so idk if it works there.

Hi everyone! I am sure this topic has been beaten to a pulp and I apologize, just trying to use all resources i can. I bought the DLC day 1 and was able to play multiple times and started an ironman campaign. I decided to play with a few friends and then my game crashes and when I logged back in, I lost all my cosmetics and the new ironman campaign. had about 8 or 9 missions done on s tier. Is there any remedy for this or is void aware of it?

VOID is very aware of it, they choose to just ignore it, only way I know and do to prevent it is back-up my save file once every few days so I have something to fall back on

Game crash, bsod or power went off are tend to erase/corrupt save data if they stored locally on your disk, so you cant really do anything about it

I get the black screen at launch. I updated my GPU driver (RTX 4090) and shut off the nvidia and steam overlays. Now it proceeds to two logo screens and freezes black again (before it froze black at the first logo). This is happening on both D11 and D12 settings. Physics objects are by default run on the client (in video games in general). So weapons and similar objects will potentially get placed differently for each individual player.
There are also reports of the weapons still getting stuck in world geometry or props, which just add up on the aforementioned.

I definitely can't confirm with certainty that its not just client-side placement differences, and I know for sure that weapons do get stuck in geometry/props. Although, we've had experiences where the host sees the stuck evidence, but no one else.

I'll have to double check with my squadmates and make sure they're searching thoroughly, but there have been many times where we've guided the host around the map to find suspects and wrap evidence that is in plain sight for the host, but no one else could never find, even on flat terrain with no props/geometry in the vicinity.

I've never heard of anyone else outside my squad experiencing this so I figured I'd ask.

The outlined behavior i explained above has been observable by pretty much everybody since the game got into Early Access.
Note that in some cases, the physics can be rather erratic, causing a weapon to just fly across the room.

Which is why i think it's likely that rather than some desync, but, anything is possible, sadly.

AVs, overlays, drivers, proxy drivers, USB peripherals, bloatware, cleaning software, etc. etc. etv.

SteamPipe is a content delivery system Steam uses, implemented back in 2013 to solve a problem that then GCF files of Steam games had, that is they needed to be re-downloaded entirely. It was mainly developed to serve VPK (Valve Pack files) archives Source Engine uses.

Fast forward 10 years and it shows extreme inefficiencies when patching padded PAK chunks that Unreal Engine (but also CryEngine and other game engines) use.
Meaning even if you have 50MB delta (as in, 50MB difference between old game build and new one), it may potentially trigger a cascading effect in all your PAK chunks to be reinstalled, hence 50GB instal size.

For RoN and the past few hotfixes, they were ~3.6GB so it is expected to have larger install size basically by default.

The obsolescence of SteamPipe shows even when you compare FIle Verification process between EGS and Steam (example being one 150GB game).
The slower one is Steam, because Steam is only using one CPU thread like it's a year 2008 or something.

And for the same SteamPipe reason Steam LAN Transfer feature is practically useless in modern networks (which is fascinating as it was suppose to be designed for those, LMAO).

Does anyone know how I can play old replay files? I'm working on a funny moments video and the replays would be a great asset, but none of them work from the main menu. I know the update rekt them, but is there another way for me to access them? Some kind of work around? Also, does anyone have experience with replays of modded game play? Am I right in assuming that I need the mods I had at the time the replay was saved installed if I want to watch it?

Edit: After some more digging, I found that I may not be giving it enough time to load. Also that enabling replays in the settings might help. Idk about that one, but I did it anyway. I've also been sitting on a loading screen for a replay for about 5 minutes now, but it's a 14m replay. Could take it a while to load. Gonna give it a while and report back.

Edit 2: It's been close to an hour now and the replay still hasn't loaded. The game isn't frozen. It still plays audio. Just doesn't load replays.

You can check your trash bin and restore the files, but that bug may not be fixed with that. A lot of modio mods are outdated to my knowledge still

Hey Im having a problem with my install, I havent played in a bit and when launching out of safe mode it says my games corrupted, I backed up my game save and deleted all the files in /common/readyornot and verified the install, but now somethings that happens which I cant replicate with any other game it stops the disks download randomly and pauses, its fully downloaded but actually writing it just stops, I have the storage, when I try to install something else after trying ready or not the steam ui starts to bug out until I restart steam :/. Steams all updated and the only issues Ive had with my storage drives were caused by my motherboard which Ive replaced a while ago

Be patient while the game is patching, the progress bar on one of the steps doesn’t accurately reflect the progress

You can try clearing the steam download cache as well before the next attempt

I believe that replication cannot keep up if you are client, not host. Only one of the DLC maps doesn't work well for me in terms of performance. All other maps work perfectly. But exactly on this one map there are also strange "high ping-like" effects, such as me being dragged around because the synchronization is no longer correct.

Ever since the update the game has been running terribly and crashing. In multiplayer its primarily lag and stuttering, even on low settings, despite the fac tthat my PC exceeds teh recommended specs for the game. In commander mode it is unplayable. Every single mission, every single time, the game crashes so hard I have to open a new desktop to get to task manager to kill the process.

I have uninstalled fully, re-installed, verified game files, updated my graphics drivers, tried running in Dx11, Dx12, Safe mode, restarting my PC, and lowering the settings to the absolute minimum. Whenever the AI teammates go to engage the enemy, the game crashes.

From the googling I've done I've seen is suggested that this may be a decompression issue with Oodle conflicting with 13th-15th gen intel processors, but I refuse to change voltage settings for my CPU in BIOs to address issues for a single game.

Before the update the game ran beautifully at 100+ fps with max settings, and now I can't play it. Do we have a patch in the works?

If you have a 13/14th gen intel chip, then that is up to you to either address (via the pinned instructions), or you'll be stuck waiting for Odle and Intel to sort out their problems. It is entirely out of Voids hands on this one.

There's nothing to be sorted by RAD Tools, at all, since these Intel CPU crashes are not software specific. AT ALL.

Note that the 13th/14th gen CPUs have confirmed 3 issues:

• Out of the box overclock on some specific motherboards (already fixed with Intel Defaults after BIOS updates).
• Oxidation of copper vias within the die itself (unfixable manufacturing flaw)
• Overvoltage due to poorly handled VID table (being fixed in BIOS right now, MSI and ASUS already have them released)

If you do have one of these i7/i9s, and you do see stability issues in any arbitrary app, regardless what name of it is, it is highly advisable for you to update BIOS as soon as possible to prevent further CPU damage.
Because it is not, never was, and no matter how many times people repeat "but it's only in THIS game" still won't be, related to any game or software of any kind, at all, ever.

These CPUs suffer from overvoltage, which in turn degrades the CPU (likely the ring bus), which means these errors will eventually accumulate and the CPU will be irrecoverably damaged, as it happened so many times before when even 125W hardcap wouldn't stop them from crashing.

Again, this ONLY applies to Intel Raptor Lake and Raptor Lake Refresh (13000 and 14000) and no other CPU lineup, and the issue disproportionately affects i7s and i9s more than i5s or i3s.

Then I found the Xsolla email with my activation key in 2021. But, I think I bought the "Standard edition"
It is not very clear from the email which edition I bought

Regardless, one guy on the steam forums told me to check this out, and that Xsolla means = Supporter
And that there are custom skins and stuff for supporters, not just the free DLC

Hello, I have an issue, I'll just write it here if anyone knows any fix for it that would be great. I have completed all missions on S but the progress for the Medal of Valor achievement says 16/18. It is possible I might have gotten those two missing S grades on multiplayer but I have no way of telling which ones as on the missions select screen it just says S on every mission. Any help would be much appreciated.

Okay so I tryed some AMD updates, uninstalled the game, verified with steam, tried direct x11 or 12 ect.

It's not changing a thing, now everytime i'm playing, the whole computer just shutdown, and it's only happenning with this game. Even with low settings or high settings.

Have you tried replugging in power cables on your GPU I had an issue where one plug was little out of socket and my GPU would crash under heavy load plugging it in fixed it for me.

My GPU also has lights on it if one socket isnt getting enough power it lights up white thats how I knew. In my case it was my LIan Li Strimmer not giving enough power to my GPU

I had the same issue; this is due to the current AMD driver. You want to

1. remove your driver with the AMD cleanup utility (google for it)

What aspect are you trying to access in game? Are you sure that you have the dlc checkbox ticked as active? And have you restarted steam?

This game is peer to peer through a steam server intermediary. So it is possible that one of you has a poor connection to that specifically. Best advice is to both unplug routers and wait a few minutes before restarting them.

I have a weird visual bug that happens whenever I'm spectating, or in the loading truck. The game flickers really badly, and it's impossible to see. But strangely enough, it doesn't (usually) happen in game, and whenever I'm spectating, if I alt tab, and show the windows on screen, it stops until I alt tab back into the game, and then after a second or two, it starts happening again. It doesn't flicker black, but instead the game itself.

For some reason, my game doesn't record replays.

A couple things I've noticed

Whether playing in a solo lobby, single player, or in a coop lobby, at the beggining of the game it says "Player Left Game" if replays is on. If it is off, the message does not appear.

I've attempted to play it without mods, it does not seem to have fixed anything.

I did not have the Engine.ini replay stopper from early 1.0

I've reset my graphics settings twice to see if that was an issue

I've reverified the installed files, but nothing was missing.

For me on this patch, the record replays option disables itself sometimes. The only way it works for me is to enable it in the lobby right before going into a mission.

Not sure where the problem lies here - It seems that on games that use Unreal Engine 5, when i lift my fingers from one of the WASD keys for movement, I will keep moving for an indeterminate length of time! It's a low power chip so the PSO caching will take a while.
If the game is not crashing, try to leave it on the loading screen longer.

Sadly the way devs configured the PSO compilation is that it freezes main thread (or the render thread), meaning it appears as "not responding" in Windows.

Some laptops pipe the dGPU through the iGPU that has the main display output, but external ports are always piped to the dGPU (Nvidia in your case).

hi, just downloaded last update. To proceed, i deleted a whole lot of files to make some space on my disc, but as i recon nothing related to Ready or Not. Then, before launching the game, i went to delete all my old mods to be sure the game would launch. Then i pressed the "Play" button on Steam, and i got this message :

I tried to launch from the file of the game itself, and i have the same issue. I don't know how to fix this, and if my only chance is to uninstall the game ://

It's a hidden system folder, but it's there. Try clicking on the address bar and adding \AppData to the end of the folder path.

Those folders are where all the config files reside. You're in the right spot. Try just renaming the folders and see if they get recreated when you run the game.

Reinstalling through Steam doesn't delete remnant files, such as manually added mods to be sure. Triple check #❓modding-faq-archive to be safe, but you can also delete %localappdata% > readyornot

I have found the culprit.

Apparently, my GPU HATES it when I turn SAM and instant replay on (Although this applies to ANY recording software that uses GPU for encoding).

After I turn instant replay off, it runs smoothly with no FPS drops.

Using OBS with CPU encoding fixes this problem.

You did not install the last update, it's just that shrimple.

It is not 45Gb worth of additions, it is 45gb worth of changes because of how unreal engine works. It should only be like a 3-5gb download, but the rest is just the game repacking its files, that is how it is.

Is it actually possible to arrest 3 suspects in Ides of March? I mean, I keep repeating the mission, & many, many times I have restrained them while still alive, but they don't count as arrested, which I find odd. Do they have to be uninjured to be counted as arrested? Also, on another occasion I saw that the 'arrest 3 suspects' objective was 'x'd out when I already had two live arrested and still another one at large. Something seems wrong. Excellent game BTW, really great tactical fun 👍 😆

In terms of objectives it counts "arrested" as injured as well as uninjured.
If you kill all the bad guys such that no additional can be arrested the objective fails even if you have 2 out of 3 arrested.

If you believe you found a bug, record it on a video and create a room in #1050535723087958156

Note, incapacitated do not count towards the objective (if the guy is not on his feet he won¨t count).

Thanks for replying @Arc. If incapacitated or 'not on his feet' doesn't count, then I might well have to keep trying. But I've often had the suspect lying down and the message says 'suspect down and still breathing' so I assumed he would count as arrested. Of course, in the mayhem I can easily be wrong/miscounting, but I'd be interested to hear that others have definitely had 3 successful arrests. I will keep trying anyway. I love the way they can behave so differently each time, it never gets old.

"suspect down and still breathing" means incapacitated, which is, to my knowledge, not counting towards the objective of arresting suspects.
He can be faking death and then stand up on his knees, he can be injured as well but so long as he is basically kneeling he will count.

If you happen to use AMD GPU, turn on this setting in the recording tab. Since DX12 runs on borderless windowed mode, this actually helps.
