I have a question- how do I unlock new missions? I started a new game, and completed Thank You, Come Again at an A+ yet nothing unlocked. I played practice mode, got to the 28 Megabytes mission but then when I re-entered practice mode my progress was gone

So, ever since early access, my PC still had disconcerting issues with stuttering while engaging with any AI in the game. Tried dozens of "fix Ready or Not FPS BY MAKING THESE SIMPLE STEPS", tried disconnecting every single controller device from PC, Steam, my home, etc.

I'm beginning to wonder that the real issue is that my PC is just too old for this game.
i7 4790k + RTX 2060 and 16 GB DDR3 RAM. Does that proceed?

On dx11 I get very low fps about 20-60 and on dx12 i get 150-200 fps but stutters every few seconds. 3 of my friends have the exact same problem. I have i7 9700k 3070 and 32gb ram. its currently unplayable because the stutters get you killed in dx12 and in dx11 20 fps is like a powerpoint presentation. Is this normal or should it be running better?

changing any graphics setting doesnt make a difference even set to low it still stutters

I also get similar result. The stuttering did stop in the station after a minute or so. But i haven’t tried in a level. If anybody has input, would be appreciated. I feel like there is some SSR or something that needs to be turned off for me because that is when my FPS suffers the most in DX11

for me its at its worst in the station but happens at least first 3 maps becuase we cant beat the third from stuttering so much also it doesnt stop if i wait a while in the map

DX11 performs 3x worse on average compared to DX12. With DX12 you still get a tiny stutter when loading different areas of maps but it’s not really noticeable outside of station when you first look around.

To entirely delete the mods you have to do this:

• Go to Steam\steamapps\common\ready or not\readyornot\content\paks .

• Delete everything that is not a windowsnoeditor 0-20 pak, and then navigate to %localappdata% > and delete the readyornot folder.

It's a bug, keep trying. Try different angles and distances, also open/close the menu and keep pressing shift. It may pop up sometimes, but you need to be fast.

If you have shotgun loaded with.. "buckshot" press number 1 again and you can see different shells and you can rotate between them. If you switch the shell type to "Slug" the next time you reload your shotgun, the shells will be those that you chose before.

I think it may or may not be plausible with Windows, but Linux uses a translation layer that translates DX11/12 to Vulkan. But if you're on Windows, i would advise not to use translation layers to Vulkan because of the overhead it causes and loss of performance.

Tried experimenting - using rhi.SyncInterval=1 gives me same old 180fps in menu and 99% gpu usage, while 2 and above gives that sweet maximum of my refresh rate 280fps.

Removing r.VSync=0 also gives ~180fps - no improvement

Hmmm, maybe try this?

1. Close the game, let Steam Cloud saves to sync your game saves.
2. Delete %APPDATA%\Local\ReadyOrNot directory.
3. Launch game. Steam Cloud will sync back your game saves.
4. Close the game
5. Edit %APPDATA%\Local\ReadyOrNot\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\Engine.ini by adding these 3 lines:

rhi.SyncInterval=2
r.VSync=1

6. Start game.

Also try changing rhi.SyncInterval=2 to rhi.SyncInterval=5. No idea what it might change, but in my case only 1 has no improvement, while 2 and more improves FPS, but only when using with r.VSync=1.

Deleting that folder (on Linux I was able to remove whole Local, but I still think that deleting ReadyOrNot is enough) fixed my performance, from ~30-60fps to ~100+ fps.

This latest fix additionally like doubled the performance.

Alright, i can see that it is a pak file. Makes it quite a bit easier to install. Let me help you.

1. First drop whatever you're currently doing

2. Download the file if you haven't

3. install "zip" if you haven't and if you have, "cd" into the downloads and type unzip bal_customization-unlocked-56i2.zip

4. copy the .pak file and paste it into.. steam folder, it might be in but location may be different for you ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Ready Or Not/Content/Paks/

and voila

Amd since it is a laptop it'll be underpowered or overheating so you might want to simply check what the HW is doing and perhaps wait till it loads in.

Open source Nvidia drivers only just got better, and proprietary are still 50/50 with games. First exclude the entire "..\SteamApps\Downloading" and "..\SteamApps\Common\ReadyOrNot" directory from your AV scan and only then verify game files.

Because if you do not exclude them, it'll get deleted again.

Missing file gets replaced by file verification rather easily so full redownload should not be needed.

Hi I am doing a commander mode playthrough, prior to this I removed my mods so I could unlock the achievements - but for some reason the game is still showing that it is detecting mods and not allowing my grades to save ? UW monitors are currently not really supported from what i've seen, so better to play at 16:9 AR for now.

It would be great if the devs would implement some simple local and cloud backups to avoid these lost progress issues. My son just ran into this as well. Fortunately, he plays the game on multiple computers so I was able to restore a 4-day old save from a different computer manually.

There is no excuse for the devs not keeping around at least 5 old version of progress for non-ironman saves in cloud storage for manual download and restore. (https://store.steampowered.com/account/remotestorage) Their save files are tiny. I've had to do this for a few games in the past (Terraria, Deep Rock Galactic, Embr), but it worked for those games because they had multiple backups actually available in remote storage. Multiple local backups should be maintained as well.

Additionally, restoring from a local save on a different computer only worked because I have Steam set to NOT start automatically. I was able to log into his Windows account and copy his save games. Once I started Steam, the cloud sync instantly overwrote progress as well. Someone who is not as technically savvy about save files and wanted to launch the game to check if progress was reset would have unknowingly ruined their local backup.

Also, I can't think of any valid reasons where the game should automatically and silently be overwriting local progression files with a new profile automatically. Even if the save games are corrupted, then make a copy of them, create a new set, and notify the user. Let the user restore from backups.

Ideally the root causes behind lost progression should be fixed too, but backups would at least allow people to follow a simple set of instructions to manually restore lost progress.

Anyway, you added these, tweaked as much as you can, but no changes in FPS? Turns out my bottleneck is not GPU, but CPU. GPU usage never reaches 99% in game (only in menu and loading screens), so no matter how much you optimize - GPU isn't getting enough work from CPU, so reducing triangles literally do nothing in my case. Developers need to optimize their game, so GPU is better utilized.

However, if you play on 4K, rendering game is probably hard enough task for GPU, so in your case GPU might be bottleneck, so those 2 additional lines might help. In my case this is irrelevant, since I am bottlenecked by CPU.

To explain the problematic, generally speaking players should not mess around LODs because the lower quality LOD meshes are suppose to be seen from certain distance in order for them to not look out of place.
Forcing lower LOD meshes in smaller distance will greatly increase the amount of visual glitches the players will see.

And handing out copypased Engine.ini files with this will inadvertently cause issues in the future.
There are better ways to optimize the PC around the game than by making the game look bad.
