Having a blast with the game, at the time is not perfect but I don't expect it to be. Is early access after all. Map variety as far as I played is good, gunplay is good (prob needs some tweaking), the AI is probably the main issue right now.
They sometimes pull up straight full stocks out of their pockets, or they are just stationary in a room. It would be nice if you see them roam a bit between rooms, having more animation that impacted the gameplay (looking through windows, propping themself behind furniture,etc), but as I said for an early access game you guys did pretty good. Keep 'em coming

very nice game. really great! played ~180minutes so far and only encountred small bugs and issues: 1st the friendly AI seems to be everything from very accurate to just brain dead and getting mowed down by a guy with a Makarov.
2nd: it would be nice to enable AI when playing with a friend to fill up the open slots, this could be optional for those who really hate the AI šŸ˜„
3rd: a map before starting the mission or some sort of overview would be nice. for a swat game it feels a bit too much like running blind
4th: pepperspray, CS gas and sometimes even the stun gun feel underwhelming and not really effective.
5th: (more like a personal wish) a wider variation of international weapons (G36, AK74M, P90) and maybe different ammo types to choose from

the rest like gun play, movement, hit effect, details (like picking up mags after a speed reload) are just great! this is a game I've been waiting for very long! thanks!

Have and option for "interaction" without the Yell for compliance
I've seen at least 2 instances where a suspect was in a doorway and the ziptie animation began by mistake, so one officer was zipping up the guy on the doorway.
Also lots of unnecessary yelling for compliance when trying to interact with things.

I wish they would add an option to like roll equipment on the ground or like do a short toss like in csgo for example. I like to use my little gas canisters and honestly i dont get much use from throwing it far it would be way more useful if i could do a short toss through the opening of a door instead of tossing it at full force

  • Even if playing coop with friends or randoms the Host or "Team Leader" should still have access to the command wheel to issue commands incase some people don't have mics.
  • Some missions have civilian AI dressed in body armor or wearing ski masks as if they were suspects (seems a little ridiculous to me)
  • Some AI Suspects have a faster draw than Doc Holliday and will 1-2 tap a heavy armored officer with a pistol.
  • Adding on to AI Suspects, I've have multiple occasions of 2-3 tapping unarmored regular suspects with 556 (in the chest) and they run off just fine and turn around and 1 tap me in full armor with Makarov.
  • Tear gas seems almost worthless
  • Maybe add a option or "feature" whatever you'd call it, to escort a handcuffed suspect or civilian back to a "safe" spot that's already been cleared so they're not constantly in the way or sitting in the middle of a door way or hallway

The game is awesome when it comes to graphics and it really does feel like the legendary "SWAT" game but it lacks a lot of stuff

The enemy movements are very bad. Most of the times people will just run in circles come to a stop and immediately shoot you in the head 4 times leading to your dead. Or they will have inhuman reaction and come from a standing to shooting position in under a milisecond.
Traps
A lot of explosive traps are placed where they shouldn't be. This is not Afghanistan. There is no need for a bomb trap to be placed under half the doors in a simple meth house
Citizen AI
Attempting to detain a citizen is pain in the ass most of the times since they will just start running everywhere. Even if you start punching them they will continue to run until they decide it's enough and stop in the middle of an open hallway
Missing feature
As far as I am concerned there is no weight system (aka a system that slows you down the more weight you are carrying) since I am carrying a shield, pistole, M4 with attachments and it doesn't seem to affect my speed
More house looking maps needed
In the game we are playing as SWAT operators. It would make more sense if we get more calls that a SWAT team would respond to. Like bank robbery, Casino robbery, Barricaded suspect (in his house) etc.
More weapon customizations needed
The weapon customization currently is really bad. You don't have that big of a choice on what to put on your weapon, where to put it, you can't combine stuff together (Lets say a flaslight and a laser) etc.
Optimization (might be just for me)
And lastly I am not sure if this is just my system or the game can do with a bit of optimization but my PC is dying in this game. I have stable FPS but when it comes to cooling , my PC sounds like a jet engine. (RX 5700XT | Ryzen 7 3700X | 32 GB) I guess 5 case fans, 3 GPU fans are not enough to keep my GPU below 70 degrees Celsius. No other game has achieved this effect on my PC. Not even microsoft flight simulator.

Suggestion (for down the road). Some type of progression system that unlocks in game ranks showing xp and cool skins (not any weapons or attachments, those should be available to everyone at the start, but just cosmetics). It could be based on the points you earn from each match. This might encourage players to try and get higher scores instead of shooting everyone or ramboing. But please dont make it any progression that is like a battle pass or unlocks weapons. It could be something that wont negatively affect gameplay and just affects cosmetics. Am I crazy or is this a good/bad idea? Input very welcomed.

First of all, the enemy AI really needs a tune up. Like there's no reason some teenagers with busted ass Tec 9s should be able to snap around and send me and my team straight to Jesus from 50 feet like they're the fuckin Arizona Ranger and i'm Texas Red. Also the player should also be able to shoot through doors, yeah i know this might be too OP, but i'd rather have that than having absolutely no counter against some dickweed camping a door. Plus isn't being technologically and tactically superior than the suspects the entire point of SWAT teams? A Swat 4 style "Breach, Leader and clear" type command where your teammates wait for you to throw your nade of choice before breaching and a "Leader breach, and clear" type command where you choose and execute the breach method before your teammates enter would be awesome, as the only way to do so is timing your breaches with hold commands. Now this suggestion isn't really as important as the other three, but some basic uniform customization would be really cool, such as balaclavas as cosmetic face wear or more colors for gear, kinda like one of the AI's tan plate carrier that isn't locked behind specific characters and can be mixed together would be awesome too.

Gotta say. Since the alpha, y'all have done an amazing job. At first I was really apprehensive, and I thought that we weren't gonna get a finished product. I can say fully, though, that this game feels developed now. it's fun, it reminds me a lot of old rainbow six, when I'd gear up with my friends and we would make roles for each other (ie. breacher, shield, sniper) and I really like the sound design. It's very loud, but that just happens to be how guns sound. The tumultuous environment is very cool and I think you guys have done a lot of good work. I'm looking forwar to playing more!

The only thing I'd like to see (right now) is the reintroduction of the weapon menu. Used to be '3' and you could select any items from it. love the game, very atmospheric. great job guys!

Game's great, some constructive feedback: Any chance the devs could look at weapon manipulation near thresholds? It's hard to anticipate when your weapon's cleared a corner, which makes for really frustrating situations where you can see a target but can't engage. movement speed is a bit wonky, the sweet spot for moving most times feels like it should be between walking and shift walking;

a system similar to games like Tarkov where you change your movement speed with the mouse wheel would allow for much more precision and comfort when playing so the ideal movement speed can be dialed in depending on the situation

Gas station is well out of scale in comparison to the player, lots of elements of the environment, tables, seating, bar heights, etc, doesn't feel right at all.

Small suggestion maybe take a page out of Tarkov's book for controls and look at implementing buttons like SHIFT+R for check mag instead of hold and stuff that is similar, can make button binding a bit more smooth, i know some people only have 60% keyboards and don't have all the buttons needed to bind.

prolly been said a lot but please fix the AI seeing trough the walls otherwise amazing graphics and maps.

please also fix bomb mode by putting more time for teams to be able to be tactical and maybe put multiple floors on the hotel and a way to rappel up and down the hotel and breach windows etc. also the hostage mode doesnt work, if you trigger the enemies they dont kill almost any civilians and its a little weird that civilians can just run around freely with the SUSpects just staring at them.

it would also be rlly cool to see a SUSpect take a civi hostage and hold a gun to their head and make threats to the swat team and/or demands.

A difficulty slider would also be pog and stats for the weapons so we know what attachments actually do and maybe a way to choose how far or near our sights are on the gun rail system same with flashlights or lasers etc.

Overall the game has a pretty strong structure, the graphics are really good, models are just perfect, the game mechanics actually surpassed my expectations from previous reveals (please add running feature :( ), however imo the AI needs an urgent rework, i have 12 hours now, an d I have been killed more or less 15 times because of random NPCs pathing, this includes citizens having behaviours that might not be realistics taking into account the situation, running towards us or through the middle of the gunfight, getting themselves killed, which doesn't make a lot of sense. Hostile NPCs sometimes just rush to the room where we are killing a whole 3-man swat with no other equipment than a shotgun, as the speed and aim they have makes it very difficult to deal with. Also, sometimes NPCs wallbang us from angles that are really difficult to foresee and they leave you very confused. On the other hand, I quite like the behaviour that NPCs show when being arrested, I like the fact that they are quite unpredictable, they killed me repeated times because i let my guard down at the last few seconds. Thanks a lot for this game, its been a while since I last had so much fun with a shooter other than tarkov.

I just want to say to the devs that at first I thought the game turn out to be a scam since the bad and janky pvp alpha and finally after it came out to the steam I give it a go and already plan to refund it soon. But after playing it for a while all I can say that I was wrong and this game is good and I consider it as a spiritual successor to the swat 4.
I hope in the future the map and story telling is improved and more content is coming, cheers~

Maybe I just have really high standards, having played SWAT 4, this game still has a long ways to go. The $39.99 does not justify the amount of content this game still needs. Like you said, I love the gunplay, I love the sounds, I love the environments. My problem is the AI, and I genuinely don't know what to tell you but this game needs more content to justify the $40 price tag. If it were $20, I'd keep my mouth shut and say bravo VOID. In all honesty, I would love to see Tarkov's gunplay mechanics in here. The game needs to take some further inspiration from SWAT 4 and make the needed adjustments there. From the AI specifically, I want to see more movement from the AI, I wanna see suspects being more aggressive, I wanna see civilians being held at gunpoint, I wanna see what genuine former SWAT have seen in certain situations. Much like how Six Days in Fallujah, their dev team has many former marines involved in the development of the game. @meager anvil

The problem is there's a lot of talk either praising/degrading the efforts of VOID. Is the game perfect? No. There's so much it needs that its missing and some of what it has is broken. And don't even try justifying the AI behaviors because they're on "drugs" its a lackluster defense for a game that obviously has flaws. Don't defend the game if you genuinely aren't going to give the same amount of criticism as you would praise. There's a reason why its still in early access. But honestly, $40 for any early access title is a huge red flag.

The 300 blackout SBR needs to have its barrel be half the length. 300 blackout shines in a 7 to 8 inch barrel and the length of the current rifle in-game is too-unwieldly for good CQB. A full rifle-length barrel makes the weapon not make sense due to the caliber. Also, I noticed that the 300 SBR is just as loud when suppressed as other rifles. Generally, when suppressed, people use subsonic 300 blackout ammunition which greatly reduces the noise. This is where the cartridge truly shines. Just shamelessly nitpicking but I recommend redesigning the sound of the 300 SBR when suppressed. Just want to spread some real-life experiences of mine (as a gun enthusiast) to the game. Awesome. I’d like to run solo for learning the maps flow better. It would also be cool to run just a red team or blue team. Make it a little more simple for people learning how to control a group of men around a map!

One more thing. It would be nice if we could get a game mode where we can have more aim practice. Maybe a tdm but with ai. Or game mode where the enemies spawn outside and rush your position/ set up a chock point on your team. So we can practice aim as well as reaction.

As for the enemies being a little to accurate and fast, I find it very enjoyable but also can be annoying with instant deaths

The enemy ai needs a nerf. Not much, but it is almost impossible to even peek in a room without getting oneshot by enemy with aimbot. AI is wayyyy too stubborn and spot-on with everything they do, as if they're the trained police and we're not.

@uneven holly Does the team have any plans in changing the stubbornness of the AI (such as when you yell at them and they don't comply or them constantly running away), or making it feel less railroaded? For instance, in the crackhouse for lack of a better term, there's always an NPC in the main room who always runs to the same door to the left which always has someone armed in there.

I really, really want to hope that the AI has some heavy changes in place, because it's the #1 thing stopping this game from greatness. Almost everything works sooooo good except for the AI, but when every single NPC you have is determined by the same AI, it drops the quality of the game severely.

Ready or Not has been an amazing addition into the tactical sim genre. SWAT 4 had a mod called Elite Force which featured voice commands to AI squad mates. It added a level of immersion to single player that was absolutely incredible. Idk how difficult it would be to add something like that but it would be very welcomed! Thanks again

Picked up the game right after I saw it live on Steam and I gotta say I'm really happy with it, especially with how well the bots are being handled. I work a bit with the devs for Easy Red 2 and I'm happy to see another game that has both singleplayer and coop aspects.   • Player weapons should get lowered automatically when aiming at teammates.
  • Teammates should keep their weapons up unless aiming at the player/teammates.
  • Add a command to order team to turn on flashlights or make them use it according to if they can/can't see (currently only one teammate turn on his when the player do).

  • When ordering an element to mirror or wedge a door, only one is doing it, the other one does not follow his teammate.

I have really enjoyed my time with the game so far and I'm excited to see how it continues to develop. One feature I think would be awesome to add in is the ability to kill the power to the buildings you're clearing, or at least be able to do sections at a time. Like you have to locate a power main or a transformer or something. Maybe it makes the AI react in a certain way so there's a give and take to it (maybe sometimes they go check the breaker box, maybe they panic and kill civilians, maybe they react more aggressively to sounds they hear from different parts of the house, etc.)

I don't know anything about game development so I could be asking for the moon here lol. I love this game and it's been such a breath of fresh air. Keep up the good work!

Being able to cut the power would be so good for those of us that would like to use the NVG's. Currently you have to keep switching them on and off awkwardly depending on whether the room you're going to happens to have the lights on.

And realistically the cops would have that ability from the outside via a utility company as well, instead of having to rely on a breaker box inside the building.

But yeah, having the AI reach around in the dark, hypersensitive to sounds would add to that atmosphere as well.

Suggestion/Hopeful For Semi Random Map Layouts

I think so far one of my favorite aspects about entering a new mission is breaching that first door and seeing a hallway filled with closed doors and not knowing what may be behind them. The anxiety of not knowing where you are or the layout of everything is a great feeling. Though if all of these maps are hand designed eventually we'll remember them and then that anxious feeling won't be as rampant.

Though hopefully with some kind of semi random map generation say changing the floorplan for some rooms, changing certain hallways/entryways if this is possible would help just keep that feeling, I don't think it needs to happen yet, but having an option to play on what are basically more randomly generated maps would be so awesome.

Please check the shotgun spread. I don“t know if it“s intended or a Bug. The spread is way too wide. I know that this is a problem with Shotguns and 00 Buckshot itself and the problem to implement them as a useful and realistic weapon. At 20 yard the spread of 00 Buckshot is around 10 inches (depends on the Shotgun, ammuntion and the use of a choke. But can we get it a little bit more realistic. Another option might be to reserve traps for the situation types or maps that suit them.

A bunch of gangbangers caught in the middle of robbing a gas station probably wouldn't have grenades, or the time and foresight to use them as traps instead of just throwing them. But with a bomb threat in a hotel, the suspects could've brought along smaller explosives to set up as delaying traps to buy themselves time.

So overall maybe the better option would be to make their existence more predictable, so aggressive clearing can be done in situations that call for it without having a separate setting for it.

Raid could easily be worked into something like this, depending on what kind of a background Void has intended for it (the description doesn't say anything about why swat is going in, just that they're "highly dangerous").

Have you tested whether Raid has civilians currently? It's the only mission type that doesn't mention civilians in the description at all, so it might not even have them. Unsure about traps though.

As a side note, bringing door wedges and closing off doors as you go is a good way to limit where civilians can run to. I like to close off all the outside doors first thing, so I'll know they're all still inside the building.

I know this might sound dumb to 99% of the playerbase here, but I am mute and playing with anyone in coop is a nightmare for me for the most part, having to make my own AutoHotkey script for commands and simple replies just to not stop and type for a second as I need that time. SWAT 4 had a system where you could easily talk to your team as lead and as a team member with the command menu, I really hope you guys add that into Ready Or Not. I love you guys and have been following you from day one, I've been disappointed once, so has the whole community very early on with the first "gameplay" trailer that I still talk about to this day, but you guys did a phenomenal job so far. Character customization system needs to be reworked in order to personalize your character. The current one is very mediocre.

Also, in SWAT 4, we used to have briefings of the suspects, see the layout of the location and everything in general. We could also listen to the 911 call that eventually lead to the SWAT team being brought in and so on, I'm hoping to see something similar to this in the future of RoN, when the campaign comes out.

  • I do think that a form of sprint is needed. It's ridiculous how fast suspects and civilians run, while you're just slowly shuffling over to them. Not to mention when you get shot at and can't get to cover in time.
  • Weapon obstruction needs to be more forgiving. It's hard to round a doorway safely with a primary because looking slightly too close to it makes you pull your gun away. The system should try as much as possible to "mount" the gun onto hard surfaces, and only "retract" where it not possible.
  • moving while leaning should be a bit faster, right now it feels like you're walking with arthritis
  • when crouching with a shield, it's not very obvious whether you're crouching or standing. Would be nice if it was more obvious

Just a small suggestion for those of us that love playing without hud on, the transition when you click the toggle hud button is instant right now and personally I think it would be less distracting and a little less jarring if it faded in/out, maybe this will be better to have as an option as I can see some people making the argument that an instant change is more efficient time-wise etc. Thanks!

Civilian behavior is strange
Civilians are too annoying and antagonistic. They get rescued from gunmen and they sprint around telling armed police to 'go fuck yourself'?
I feel that there should be a noticeable difference between civvies who might have an affiliation with the criminals (e.g. in drug dens/cults/whatever) and more likely to be difficult, and regular hostages, who should be overwhelmingly compliant (and treated nicely by the player character!)

Would like to see some missions with more "ordinary" locations like a standard family home, right now it feels like all levels try hard to be "extra" like, the gas station is not a normal gas station, instead it is this huge complex, the hotel is trashed and under construction while a "normal" hotel would do just as fine

AI Control and Operations
AI control is extremely clunky, I understand that it is an early access game but playing single player feels like playing Arma as the captain. You're trying to shoot and deal with a clunky menu at a time.

Movement, Leaning, and Look
In my opinion, movement is way too slow especially for tactical operations, I understand the principle of wanting to take it slow and not run but, suspects and civilians can just deck away without any option for you to run after them (and tackle them). Leaning is also clunky and free leaning just ins't necessary to me. Finally, get rid of free lean and replace it with free look so we can swivel our heads. Weapons just get retracted way to fast

Tactical Operations as a whole
Going into it, we should be given a general lay of the land with blue prints of the building as well as a topdown drone view of the area. In these blue prints we should have a pre plan screen where in the blueprints, you can create a tactical operations plan on how you go ahead.

Also, AI shouldn't know where u are at all times

MATCH MAKING
I highly recommend implementing group making with Discord's rich presence. This is quite well documented in the Discord Rich Presence API. The main idea of this is to make it easier to play games with people on discord

had a lot of complaints from my friend playing this game, but My friend suggests that we have the ability to:

  1. Cut the power
  2. See through ballistic shields and not the top of them on team cam
  3. Have a sniper outside, looking at a window.
  4. Have wallbreaching
  5. Have functional Non-Lethal weapons
  6. Have enemy AI that doesn't stick their gun muzzles through the wall and shoot us.
  7. Having either a handheld map, or a minimap

Only complaint I have is that there's no interactive map

We should be able to view a map that shows the layout of each level we go on, showing all entrances, exits, etc... within said map we should also be able to ping entrance locations/set up an effective clearing path.

This would also be very useful in singleplayer, setup Team Red on a certain entrance & queue orders via the map/radio, then go around with Team Blue, time the breaches together and effectively clear the building.

I'd love smaller stuff, like a suburban house raid, something like the Clean House mission from CoD MW2019, or stuff like that. It's hard to tell sometimes if you hit the target and the range is shorter than what you'll get in some of the longer range levels such as the Harbor or Hotel. Make them also keep track of score, if you hit the target center mass, the head, how much each bullet hit does, etc, kinda like in Zero Hour

Also, make the shoothouse keep track of score and time, maybe even have a scoreboard to compare you to your friends

After playing for few hours I feel like there are the main thoughts I have with the game currently (and sorry if those opinions are getting repeated a ton, but I'd still like to share them):

  1. game is fun, it's great, basically feels like SWAT4 but looks a ton better
  2. but is unforgiving... getting a random headshot after 30 minutes of playing the level hurts...
  3. there could be more content (but I'm gonna assume it's the fact that it's an early version and it's gonna be expanded upon) - mechanics seem mostly solid
  4. I am not a fan of having to find evidence/report every single individual - I think after you think the mission is done there should be an option to tell your team to spread apart and start collecting/reporting things, at the cost of them potentially dying randomly
  5. definitely could use some pre-level sketches, description of the situation, maps (gonna assume that it's like that also due to it being an early version)
  6. single player (I've only played single player): what's the point of 20s of waiting? why doesn't the menu button pause the game?

And one I'd like to think about some more:
7. while for the individual engagements it feels fine, the "you die from a random headshot" mechanic feels kinda too punishing. I don't want to take it away, but maybe the could be "ironman" and "normal" modes, with the normal mode letting you save/load mid-game (which is sadly potentially a lot of work for the devs)

I sure would love to think that there's gonna be some more user generated content, but I don't want it to put strain on devs, and if there will be enough content in the base game, it's not gonna be an issue.

Overally, pretty solid game, but I have minor-ish issues with the things mentioned before

Hi Void, first of all I would like to say that I love your game and it’s concept. It feels incredibly immersive, sometimes the adrenaline just rushes through my body. I have however some comments/suggestions/critiques. I know it is literally the second day of early access, but still, here we go.

  1. LEANING feels incredibly clunky. It’s not that useful, especially freelean. I would stongly consider replacing it with freelook.

  2. SPRINTING. Sometimes a suspect just flies away. I would like the option to run after him, at least for a little while. I get that you are wearing body armour + kit, but these guys are top fit and should be able to manage a couple meters. Perhaps let your armour affect your speed.

  3. In single player, I don’t have an option to let an AI OPERATOR cover me with a SHIELD and advance with him, or the other way around.

  4. I could also use a FUNCTIONAL LIGHT on the SHIELD. Now I have to expose myself.

  5. Since your game is very unforgiving, I would like to have a SAVE OPTION in single player.

  6. And because the levels are quite large, I would also like a PAUSE option.

  7. And maybe you could give us an option to CHANGE DIFFICULTY on enemy AI (reaction speed/compliance) because, really, this game is hard.

  8. When I play single player, I don’t need a START TIMER.

  9. I could use a PLANNING TABLE though, now I have to go in blind. Which is of course realistic, so I get where you are coming from, but still.

  10. It feels a bit annoying to have to RESTRAIN, REPORT and COLLECT EVIDENCE on each suspect individually. I would like an option to let a AI DO ALL THIS IN ONE COMMAND.

  11. I would like an AI command to CHECK A LOCK. Now I have to stack up to do this, feels a bit much.

Every gun i've tested so far seems to have a capacity reduced by 1 round, or the reload is messed up somehow. For example: on the M45- seems to have a fixed 7 round capacity, instead of 7+1. Firing 7 rounds, no matter if you reloaded to a full mag halfway, or shot the whole mag at once, the gun always empties at the 7th round. This would be fine if you only reloaded on empty, but even when you should have the +1 in the chamber after a tactical reload, it always only shoots 7. Shotguns too. The reload animation for the breaching shotgun for example, shows you putting 5 rounds into the gun (1 straight into the chamber, 4 into the mag tube), but you can only shoot 4 rounds before you're empty. This ain't how guns work, folks

I didn’t want to throw out something entirely unrealistic or at least what I think would be too hard to do, so my suggestion is if you have the supporter addition, allowing your AI teammate to also wear the FBI HRT uniforms, just for like unit cohesion/immersion/roleplaying.

Idk just thought I’d put it out there, absolutely loving the game so far, it’s incredible compared to most AAA games these days let alone early-access so keep up the good work!

This is just a personal thing but the addition of more voice actors and lines for civilians would really help the immersion. In a typical mission you interact with 10-15 civis sometimes multiple times; Voice lines can get repeated pretty easily even if there is over 50 of them. It would be really nice to have more diversity between the civis voices/reactions since you can hear about all of them in just a few hours. This also applies to suspects but you don't hear them talk nearly as much (civis seem to have something to say everytime you press F).

First of all: I really love this game! And I'm so hyped for the further content so keep up the work! Also an idea I had is a campaign-like-mode where you and your squad can earn money depending on their rating and then having the opportunity to buy extras like ropes to walk up walls and go through windows or something like that. What also would be interesting to think about is a role-system. Maybe in a squad of 4, you have a medic who can heal himself and ONE squadmate, 2 normal ones and maybe a specialist who carries (if existing) c2 for walls

Bought the game last night at 7:59 PM, downloaded the game expecting a friend to play but he changed his mind. I tried a 30 minute mission and logged off to play Hunt: Showdown and PoE and then went to bed. Then the next day I got up and asked my friend if he would play and he said no so i went to ask for a refund. It stated I had been playing for FIFTEEN HOURS on a game that I played for 30 minutes. When I went to ask for the refund and saw I had 15 hours played, I went to my task manager and had TWO different programs related to the game running, both at VERY LOW CPU load but still counting as "running the game" on steam. I intended to play with friends and they said no and now I cannot refund the game because the devs have something that keeps it running in the background. I literally walked into the gas station, did that mission and quit, now I'm stuck with a game I won't play alone and should rightfully be refunded but cannot actually refund because of a mistake the devs made (an

Up to this point, the only other thing that's really 'gotten me' is the NPC variation - you've got two identical characters, one is the suspect, one is the civilian - both are dressed in fatigues, have a vest or plate carrier on. In such a situation, I'd identify both parties as hostile. You're in an urban gas station, why in the world is there a civilian wearing military fatigues, a duty belt, and Kevlar?

Stealth is currently unclear, because it's necessary while playing active shooter/hostage rescue, but enemies have some telepathy between them one one sees or hear you, and instantly they start massacring the hostages.

I don't have a picture but also the stone wall round the back is another egregious example, it's gigantic and the texture is scaled far too small for it but everything in the map needs tuning really. The bar counter, seating/tables are also massive!

I think it's an assortment of asset packs that's led to a scale mix up though - that yellow truck in my image from before is from a UE marketplace freebie, I've used it in a personal project of mine, so leads me to believe that more of the level is made up of different asset packs - nothing wrong with that but you've got to set it up correctly..

My feedback.... The Early Access title is great, you're doing a fantastic job and for sure have given an amazing starting ground, backed by plenty of support...
Somethings I personally would like to see

  • More weapon attachments
  • More Pre mission planning (Maps, Routes, Etc)
  • Cut the lights/Enable IR/NV
    -Sniper Support? (I think SWAT 4 had a mildly useless element like this, but it worked to an extent
    -More backround/Story to the missions, I want to feel immersed into what im doing kinda
  • Something to slow the players (us) down and make us more methodical, im still brainstorming this
  • Ranking system to show veterancy to the game
  • Unlocks based on said ranking (give me something to work for)
  • Helicopter insertion on a map or two? (Different types of insertion is what im aiming for)
    -A FREAKING SHIP/AIRPLANE MAP (im looking at you R6:S and COD)
    -Med kits or something similiar,
    -Training missions where you gain certain items/certifications through various trainings (This guy can be a medic cause hes passed med school, this guy can be a breacher cause he's learned explosives, etc)
    -Voice Commands (Use your microphone to command your AI team in SP Missions)

These are just some suggestions based on what I think would be neat

  1. There is already a light on the shield, but it cant be turned on currently. If you open the helmet cam of a teammate, on that camera display the shields light will be active and quite bright. So that's coming eventually.

  2. That was a planned feature earlier, probably safe to assume that it's coming.

  3. You can order AI to restrain people, they will report it as well at the same time. Evidence can't be done that way though, at least I haven't noticed it.

  4. There is already a "check door" command.

I think that the movement speeds, as they are, are not well differentiated.

I think that the low ready run should be a little faster, while the walk and slow walk should be switched to a switch between a trot (with appreciable weapon bounce) and a walk (instead of the slow walk, which seems a little too slow to be useful when clearing a room full of hostiles).

This isn't a bug. We are playing darker map with 5 people. Trying to identify who is who with the name is very difficult because of the darker name. When in NVG's they cant be read at all. Even with it off, the text and color make it very difficult to determine a name.

Any chance of getting the name color changed? Or perhaps another method of identifying who is who?

One thing I think really needs a lot more attention is the AI.

One of the most frustrating aspects of the gameplay right now are the firefights, where the issues with the AI really become apparent.

The bots seem to materialise weapons, teleport them to aimed location and shoot with hollywood logic in that they seem to hold the gun laser still at full auto with seemingly no need to aim or reload. Put simply, they feel like overtuned bots with very little making them feel 'human' in their movement or actions.

I don't think that this is a good approach to difficulty, since it just makes losing a matter of frustration rather than bad moves on part of the player.

I also don't think that this AI is in any way needed for the game to be challenging. I think that making the bots more "intelligent" in how they behave and act would both make the game more challenging by making them do things like supressing players, holding corners and shooting in ways that feel like human beings, all the while keeping it so that they have the movements and speeds that one would expect from a criminal to terrorist with a gun.

I mean its pretty obvious, but mirrors really need to be fixed.

I would also like to see a college campus (since the original school map got canceled), and better bullet physics. Penetration of armor is better with velocity, yes, but with softer materials like drywall, the heaviest rounds usually penetrate better. The faster a round is going, the easier it breaks up upon impact with something, while slower and heavier rounds hold together better and pierce through.

There have been issues with joining a lobby that I would like to see fixed. I couldn't join anyone elses lobby tonight, but they could join mine. No clue as to why. I restarted Steam and RoN and it didn't work.

More weapon customization would also be nice. If I wanna run my foregrip all the way out front, I should have that option. If I wanna run my peq on top or on the side, I should have that option. A selection of different stocks would be nice too, choosing between lets say a Magpul CTR, a SOPMOD Stock, a standard M4 stock, or an M16A2 stock for the AR Platform weapons would be sweet. Same thing goes with barrel lengths, handguards, pistol grips, etc.

Also, The armor worn by the characters sits low on the chest, and should come all the way up to the clavicle notch. A selection of PC's would be nice, as well as plates. Soft armor that's level IIIA up to Lvl IV Hard plates would be cool.

Also, please for the love of God diversify the detained female voice lines. Where the hell does the Mexican maid come from? none of the characters have visible tattoos either.

All in all though I understand that development is ongoing, but what you have so far is astonishing. The attention to detail is outstanding. The diversity in tactical decisions, the weapon selection, the maps, and the physics are beautiful. keep up the good work. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

I noticed while doing raids on maps such as gas station and farm, the wall banging seemed to be quite broken. Ai seem to be able to shoot through extremely thick walls made of concrete that just wouldn't be able to be shot through considering some of these walls are 5 feet deep. And the effects would pop through including bullet holes. It would also appear that ai can track players through walls even minutes after loosing sight. Suggestion: If possible can a system of sorts be created that limits certain gun types from shooting through walls, like pistols.

[general Suggestions]

The only feedback I have that I don't see from other people after a quick scan is that downed suspects are always cuffed in the United States. Leaving them unsecured in game should be corrected if possible. Incapacitated/wounded states would be nice to expand, too, with the possibility for people that are on the ground to remain a threat, even if they're unconscious for a few seconds initially

Injured enemies fleeing/bleedout For a quick suggestion, and maybe something that would be lower on the totem pole of additions, I think injured enemies who aren't incapacitated right away should sometimes run away, then eventually fall over. Happens a lot more than people think.

Some scenario should not have traps and other should have them, but giving players the ability to remove them as they wish is a bad idea in my opinion. Having to be careful and checking for traps is part of the experience the game offer, its just right now there is traps in every scenario which does not always makes sense.

A separate keybind for interact. There's a bind for Interact/Shout for Compliance and a separate one for Shout for Compliance, but no bind for just Interact.

YES!!! This is my biggest want for this game. When you move through a situation like this in real life someone is always covering the person doing the handcuffing. In my latest playthrough, my friend and I were a team of two. There were three suspects who had surrendered. In real-life that'd have been a very intense situation as any one of them could have pulled a gun again. But in the game my friend was like "They're all surrendered. We're good." and we proceeded to cuff them not worrying about any surprises.

Very fantastic game, for 50 AUD it feels fairly high quality, for a early access its amazing, so much more content then other games have, the game looks great, plays great, and honestly i think this is one of the least buggiest games of 2021. I personally haven’t encountered a bug, the AI is a little weird qnd just run around when i make them kneel, but im sure that’d be fixed.

Overall great game, the blood is abit basic, but it works at delivering good feedback, ragdoll is great how it is, and in general totally worth my 50AUD

Also the guns feel fantastic, i think i like it more than insurgencys, the reloads are abit fast but that is not unrealistically fast. And you do play as SWAT, not like, people in unicorn outfits like cod lol

Fantastic game. But, there is something I would love to see more of, and something that needs fixing.
That is... When our beloved Zack is talking, he just suddenly gets cut off we are going into battle. Could that maybe be fixed? maybe just make the loading time longer when someone is briefing the squad. Or maybe another scene of briefing? It would be really amazing!

(And, the friendly AIs, they just shoot the suspects, they don't say drop the weapon or anything, they be like GTA cops. shoot first, ask later. (At least in my experience)

Anyways. Like I said, fantastic game. All my expectations has really been met!

The AI teammates seem to know when suspects are going to draw a weapon as soon as the animation starts, like before they've moved a muscle. Currently it seems like my AI squadmates open doors all the way to throw flashbangs/stingers/cs-gas - it would be REALLY handy to have them just crack the door open enough to throw a nade in, so that my team isn't in plain view to the potential hostiles inside.

Ping the objective / show bearings on player's screen if the are too far away from it while all other objectives are already completed. This will conserve time for the player and save them from the needless pain of finding the one key item before completing the game.

Possible to load AI config externally?
The AILevelData file modified by the AI mod looks incredibly useful, basically allowing missions to be tweaked like in SWAT 4 (civ & suspect numbers, morale, behavior, bomb timers... lots of stuff) even before UI for this is available. Is it possible to have this loaded from a simple text file in the game folder so it doesn't have to be packaged via a third-party repacking tool every time a change is made? (Of course an in-game UI for custom missions would be amazing)

Dynamic High/Low/Compressed Ready System
I would love to see a dynamic gun handling mechanic, in the style of Groundbranch. It would be great to be able to fluidly cycle from low ready, to compressed ready (where you can fire if needed) to high ready, etc. The mousewheel would be the ideal binding, with the command interface bound elsewhere. This would add a lot in terms of realistic weapon handling, would reduce the amount of time that people spend flagging their teammates, and would facilitate having the weapon ready in a compressed position to shoot while moving through confined spaces.

Another feedback - I kinda wish my character was actually loud when yelling for people to put their hands up and drop their guns. If there is gunfire going on, they need to be heard. At the moment it sounds like a soft voice. Any chance of adding some shouting voices to be more realistic? I want to be yelling at this AI.

Also, you could change the model to some ghost and make this a scary game with jump scares with how these ai move and run past doors.

Just general Feedback for NPC characters : I personally feel that maybe some realism can be gained by placement of certain characters. Both Civilian and Target. Maybe have some NPC's sit in rooms in a normal setting. For example like sitting around a table playing cards or watching tv. And then Targets would react from seated positions to either flee or draw their weapon. I feel like Civi's run a bit too much also. I feel like in real world examples civilians would be more willing to leave the scene of the crime. So maybe have more running out of doors unannounced towards officers to surrender voluntarily, but that would catch us off guard and have to make quick decisions. same with people at a table. When they get up 2 might have guns 2 might not. they may all have them or none. Like when we cam a door we would see someone sitting in a chair but couldnt tell if they were armed or not from the back. I also agree with NON-Lethal being a 3rd slot.

with 5.56 rifle rounds, if they're using stuff designed to mitigate overpenetration, that's not actually far off either, 77gr OTM has failed to produce incapacitating wounds after going through a windshield, for instance. If it's pistol caliber stuff it's common for hollow points to fail to expand after hitting intermediate barriers & act like ball ammo when they hit the intended target

Howdy, I had a suggestion for animations, essentially to put it as simply as possible it is a squeeze or tap shoulder system, and with this make it so that the enemy can hear the voip and react accordingly to make a stealth approach a reasonable choice. Another thing which is incredibly small but I think would just make it really immersive is the turning point of characters from a 3rd person perspective. What I mean is, when you see your partner or another person in the team turn, they kind of glide across the floor and it doesnt look smooth or realistic, therefore an animation where they actually twist their body and move their legs as they turn would make it incredibly immersive and realistic

I noticed the same issue with the AI that I had problems with in SWAT 3 and 4 is that when you tell the civilians to get "down" they run around like a chicken with its head cut off. I get it that it is still early access but you should be able to fire a warning shot at the individual and that person would stop and get down

Make the environment more reactive to bullets. Ie having fire extinguishers leak if shot, having glass and mirrors break or crack. Also water should make a splash when shot.

Change the Equip Item buttons for an Item Wheel. Using it is quick, but a little slower than dedicated key binds, and allows players to have more keys available for other unique actions that may be implemented in the future. It also is easier to design for adding gamepad support and porting over to consoles, both of which VOID Interactive has expressed interest in based on their website's FAQ page.

Should add reconnect to server option just in case you lose connection to the server you were playing in. This is a constant issue for me who loses connection for the internet every hour or so for some reason.

There's a cardboard box in the restaurant/gas station that won't let you navigate through the market gondola's. That's funny. The "jumping" doesn't help either. I wonder why there's a jump to begin with. Vaulting could be super useful instead. And regarding the rigid objects: we need more physics-based objects instead of rigid ones. The rigid ones will block you and that's really annoying

so just got my first A mission and spent 46 minutes doing it, only issue is 15 minutes of it was going around the cargo map looking for a "dossier" i have no idea what item this is and it isnt helpful that there's dossier looking items scattered around the map. If the game notices all other objectives complete it should direct you to where this item could be at. This way it leads you in the right direction without directly bringing you to it.

I disagree. Better to have other means of direction like a generated "photograph" that's just a screenshot of the item's location. For example, if location #1 is chosen for "dossier_item" then the preplanning whiteboard could have a "photograph" of location #1 on it.

Then just add a few other locations per map with associated screencaps.

i think this could be a good option too. I just think a blank "find the dossier" and then lay around a shit ton of dossiers around a small map with slow movement speed is a turnoff for some people lol

New way to reload a shotgun: I offer the developers additional functionality.
Fire 1 shot. Hold the mouse button. Press R.
What happened? The shot is fired, the bolt is open, a new cartridge is put into it. The mouse button was released - the shutter closed.

In this video Polenar shows a couple of different reload techniques for a shotgun. Tactical or combat reloads are performed in a way that the shooter still maintains control over the area and is able to engage threats that occur during reload.
Competition reloads revolve solely around speed and efficiency of loading.

I think it's crazy NOT to have a roadmap. The feedback thread makes no sense if we have no idea what things are already in the pipeline (ideas, mechanics, etc...). We can't understand what's placeholder and whatnot. Most people here must be new and they could suggest things like: "Please more gore/dismemberments!" and there's no way they know that is planned already. Or worst even, tomorrow someone new might provide the same feedback AGAIN, because no one will scroll to the top to see what has been suggested/acknowledged, etc.

We need a roadmap, and even a channel named ROADMAP, without people writing on it; just like the announcements channel. With a link. To the roadmap. @polar cove.

Personally I think proxy VOIP detection is an awful idea and makes games worse. Do you know how awful CQB in ARMA is? It wouldn't be quite so bad if the AI didn't prefire you through half-open doors because they heard you give your buddies the go-word.

agreed, no mechanics should be in place for systems that could (and most likely) be circumvented. People use Discord mostly to communicate, not in-game VoIP. So you put all the effort/resources into that and then it's never used. Interactive actions could be reduced to "hand gestures" when breaching silent though! Imagine your character doing the round with his finger instead of calling everyone around to fall in. But saying "fall in..." quietly through the radio if not the entire team is there. Ahhh the details

In Ready or not I had one round in the mag and the handle was locked as if there was a round in it, however when I fired there was no round in the magazine and the handle was locked back (so it was empty) I am just saying that I shot once without cocking the handle and both the mag and the chamber where empty.

That's already the approach that's taken. But this is still a game, despite all the realism, and it would incredibly unfun for a civilian to grab a gun and shoot you in the back when you're tazing the local cholo.

No yeah ik what you mean, I'm not tryna say that EVERY civi picks up a gun but it's more of like a percentage so like maybe it's a 5 percent chance of someone picking up a gun or something like that. Also if you tie em up or use tear gas the targets are sort of inmobile in a way and flashes

It could work as punishment for people who forget to ziptie civilians, I guess, but then it's just a feature with a shelf life. Eventually, everyone'll learn their lesson. Better idea might be to have suspects able to draw sidearms if they aren't zipped quick enough.
