But yeah, SWAT 4 way back had a mechanic where you had access to a sniper to hit a suspect if they had hostages etc if you had to, was neat.

If you haven't already, link your epic games account to Ready or Not through the settings. In the main or pause menus, there should be text in the bottom right of your screen (for console, at least) telling you what button to press to open the epic games overlay. Add your friend through there. Afterwards, you should be able to join each other when one of you hosts a multiplayer lobby with crossplay toggled on.
