Based on this video even 9mm can punch through a wall and a fridge and hit someone on the other side; 5.56 will go through the wall, the fridge, the suspect, and the wall behind the suspect; 12 gauge slugs will go though the wall, the fridge, and 2 more walls; 8.6 blackout (big slow round with very high twist rate) goes through most of the house while keyholing; .50 bmg goes through the whole house.

It would also be good for balance by giving people a reason to choose an SMG, much lower chance of overpen vs even 5.56 which would go through several walls vs 7.62 which would have an even greater chance of going through walls.

Right now there's no real reason to go for the SMGs over a 5.56 SBR. Just buff wall pen so that 9mm can go through 1 but will be stopped by an unarmored suspect, 5.56 can go through 2 walls or one wall if you hit an unarmored suspect, 7.62 goes through 4 walls or 2 walls if you hit an unarmored suspect.
