artifcats come from the process of upscaling. the higher the output solution is compared to render resolution the more artifacting you will get. however the higher resolution image is sharper and thus generally better. the artifacts don't fully go away when downscaled again which is bad. but you also lose the sharpness in the process which is extra bad.

Part of the issue is that when it comes to 'realistic' games, everyone has a different idea of what exactly is realistic and how they should be able to play it.

That being said, that's not to say their issues aren't valid since RoN is most definitely not a perfect game

Optimization is still dogshit to be honest. The Minimum and Recommended requirements are still the same after UE4 and UE5, and they can't and don't reflect how the game is played, because even 8GB of VRAM is not enough for the game on Low at 1080p, it still stutters and eats the whole VRAM.

I can't imagine how it's on a 2GB Card or even a 6GB one. Minimum should reflect a perfect playable state, not just getting into the main menu. And recommended a superb state on at least Medium/High on stable 60 (Not Max).

But is the game better? Oh my, it certainly is. DLC2 fixed everything and i am proud to say that's how the 1.0 release should have been. But hey, it is what it is.

Well, they should either optimize each and every map from the ground up, and i know this is a lot of work, but it is what it is. Or fix the VRAM issue. Low Textures shouldn't go beyond 8GB of VRAM, especially since UE4 used around 6GB on MAX settings, and i got 160-200 FPS on RX 6600 XT, now i get 70-80 FPS on High or Low, it doesn't really matter, stutters just the same.

So either optimize, or be honest and update those Minimum and Recommended Specs on the Store Page that the game doesn't even stutter for a single frame on Minimum. So people know what they are buying.

Maybe 12GB of VRAM is the sweet spot now with UE5, i wouldn't know. But i certainly know 8GB of VRAM is not enough now, but it was more than enough before. When ADAM Update launched, the game was flying. 1.0, it had shader compilation problems, but rendering was super fast.

I highly doubt the Minimum 2GB of VRAM that is on the store page would work perfectly fine when playing the game on all maps without issues. I think the game needs another 10GB of VRAM on top of that. So 12GB of VRAM should be minimum.

And that's not even an exaggeration either.
