You're not allowed to shoot a suspect simply for fleeing, unless there's a good sign that there's a civilian presence in the other room, which in this circumstance it would be easy to assume he was rushing in there to kill them or take them hostage, thus threatening their lives, which it would then likely be ruled as a defensive shooting. Use of deadly force is only authorized when someone else's life is under threat.
