I actually found it cool how Ghost Recon 1 makes you less accurate when crouching and moving compared to walking, I'm talking about the simple act of taking cover.

defining broken is difficult. There is no enemy AI like it in the genre even if its still not perfect atm. Compare it to other games like zero hour, sdif or ground branch, and rons AI is arguably better all round. That being said, you can ask anyone and they will give you different takes.

The AI are going to be tweaked with the upcoming update. As well as swat AI. But it is not a major overhaul

Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising is notable since it's normally a slightly more forgiving tactical shooter but you almost always die in one burst or shot in CQB.

That game made me hate clearing what buildings are present if it happened.

Jumping in on an old conversation, yeah, simulating real combat is hard and in a fake environment simulating the stress is the best way to get the results you want. Firing blanks before sending off rubber rounds/simunitions is a good start

Immitating the sense of urgency and finality of a shoot/don't shoot is virtually impossible and no amount of wanting to do so to make the perfect cops/soldiers will make it possible.

You train for the fact that when SHTF you WILL fall to your absolute lowest level of training. You train for large exaggerated movements, short concise communications, repetitions, simplicity and muscle memory. Everything else fails.
