If an objective becomes impossible to complete, e.g. you can't complete "secure all civilians" because you killed a civilian, the mission will still auto-complete if all other civs are secure and all other requirements met

I don't think I made myself clear. Given the time constraints, number of enemies, and layout of the map, arrests full stop is simply not an option. At least not until after the threat has been eliminated. The missions in Boiling Point really aren't a police matter. It's actually a martial law, "tanks and soldiers" matter.

Frankly, I think Void should just undo that punishment mechanic entirely, if they wish to make this into Modern Warfare 3.

My main takeaway is that I wish Void would make a decision on which direction they want to proceed in. If they want to push for civil war escalation, more honest mistakes, like gunning down surrendering suspects or hitting civilians behind a wall are inevitably going to happen.

If they want to make this a police game, then keeping this punishment mechanic makes sense, but they'd have to make it a police game, and not a civil war soldier type experience.

Making it both simply ruins the experience.

It feels like the game itself is offended that I actually tried playing it.

In the official briefing, it says he shot his mom. In the actual mission, he didn't. In the briefing (alongside the tip-off phone call, it indicates he's lost his marbles. In the actual mission, he suggests that he's getting swatted and he doesn't appear to be an active shooter threat).

I don't rightly know what exactly they were going for with this one, but it's definitely almost perfect, in accordance to whatever narrative direction they were pushing for (emphasis on 'almost').

I love that about this game, too, and that's why Boiling Point frustrates me so much. It isn't really a swat game when you're dealing with a civil war faction. The whole idea of keeping that punishment mechanic (1hp health + team turns on you) for hitting surrendering civs or suspects behind a wall while dealing with military-level threats really just doesn't fit together. Like, at all.

I found it was the other way around. Carriers is reasonable, when you equip all swat members with 2 sets of wedges and block off everything except the direction you're proceeding towards. With Greased Palms however, everything is so open, you can't really funnel them into kill zones.

unless you're using slug then it's a one shot on the body up to lvl3.
