If you semi fire it’s not really a big problem with an SMFB Brake + Vertical Grip. But if you full auto a lot then yeah don’t use it
416 is at it's worst when fired in semi, because of the stupid bounce
so the 357 magnum is best thx 4 confirming mod
the way I'm testing is semi fire without pulling down my mouse, seeing how many bullets it can hit a target practice without going over it

yeah I just did, about as good as f90
but f90 is a tiny bit less it feels
both feel super smooth
G36 doesn't have the least vertical climb, but it does have 0 muzzle flip, your sight is as steady as it gets for rifles
I'm only testing vertical recoil currently, but g36 has very little of it too
IRL the short stroke gas system would actually make the recoil a bit lighter than on direct impingement ARs

If you're not getting 1 shots to center mass on greased palms, your hits are probably being caught by the arms/hands

I never felt the need to move faster so I always went full coverage
Most engagements will happen from your front so yeah pretty much, back and side armor is precautionary
Back coverage however completely saved me and my partner's neon tomb run cuz I died and the last suspect shot her from behind but she somehow lived and turned around and dropped his ass
So my map selection has Valley of the Dolls, Elephant, Rust Belt, Sins of the Father and Carriers of the Vine, in that order
an then type of armor i guess would be map dependent. kevlar if suspects are packing pistol calibre weapons liek 9mm

Steel is technically better if you plan on eating tons of shots because it’s damage reduction never diminishes, but this is not the case 90% of the time so ceramic is my favorite

I sometimes use Heavy Armor with steel only in front because I am mostly shot at front

That's what I have difficulty understanding - Also a question of whether I should be using one over the other based on how effective its stun is supposed to be. Because thus far, the difference between the two in a standard room is arbitrary. Unless someone's noticed anything different
Flash has a wider radius of effect but no kinetic element. Stingers have a smaller radius of effect but launch rubber balls everywhere that can stun. So if a room has a lot of cover, don't use stingers. If it doesn't, it's the best.

Haven't had the problem myself. Usually, the AI will stack close enough to the wall (regardless of the stack used) and survive the blast.

Nearly the whole world of Ready or Not is extra dodgy, and there's a decent amount of evidence to suggest that FISA is corrupt.
My best advice would be to go painball gun yourself, and run 2 painball guns + 2 beanbags on bots, but empty the pistol mags on them. pretty much works fine, but there is low chance of suspects dying sometimes if shot in the head with beanbag. Forgot to mention, don't forget a gas mask as well on yourselkf

That one, i found it pretty useful for S rank missions, but you need gas mask on you, otherwise there is high chance of friendly fire if you accidentaly step into gas range after shooting with VKS
Shame the TPL is so underwhelming. However, the last dev briefing mentioned possibly making it a secondary weapon, which could be interesting.
I'm still pissed about bad civilian AI tho, not the suspect one, but civilians, had one time situation where some civilian literary pulled phone on me, like wtf

I mean, it's pretty fucked up mechanic if you ask me, most of the situations where suspects have little to none armor should legit go smoothly without any kind of casulty, i understand maps like mindjot where they have heavy armor, even Port Hookan, since the size of the map gives them advantage to fight overall. Doesn't render the beanbag shotgun totally obsolete 'cause mmmn that reliable stun and ammo economy, but being able to pepper a large bathroom-sized room by popping the floor 3-5 times from the doorway is kinda rad.
I used to do 2 beanbag and 2 VKS on my team but after a few accidental kills from SWAT AI, I gave them all VKS then I’m the one using Beanbag
Plus they shoot the head as many times as they want
I think the VKS is also just a lot more effective when you've got multiple spamming the same target lol

I feel like you really to commit a lot of slots to pepperballs if you want to really get the full use out of it. It's not like other weapons where you can fly by with like 2-3 magazines for the whole mission.

It would defo be nice if they shot immediately with LTL and you have some teammates using lethal guns. So it could look like the SWAT AI is shouting for compliance before deciding to put down the suspect. That’d make for an interesting LTL + Lethal comp
In its current state (especially vanilla) we all know it’s impossible cause they fucking kill the suspects before you even see them (on lethal runs at least)

If you have an arrest objective, incapacitations are acceptable I believe, but incaps are scored as less than proper arrests.
C2 is my favorite incap. That’s probably the only reliable way I’ve gotten fake deaths from suspects
Mhmm. If the changes I'm suggesting work in practice how I'm expecting them to on paper, you'd be able to get away with having a single designated LTL officer on an otherwise lethally-equipped team, or hell, maybe even tasers would be enough sometimes.
I really wish they'd add one of those 1x-4x sights that switch within the sight rather than a top sight or just a laser

I totally get how it was supposed to work if that dev vlog can be any indication, the implementation just only half-works in practice, and that's a shame.
Encounters with suspects are just way too fast and deadly for players to fiddle with the command menu in the midst of chaos.

Besides the Taser which we do have in-game, there's the Pepperball TRP and the Byrna LE and SD.
Unfortunately, they have really tiny magazines, like 5-6 rounds each. That'd be super underpowered with the way the game's equipment slot system works.

failed brisa cove a bunch with lethal, swapped to the beanbag and finished it
probably would've got S if my AI didn't execute the last suspect with their glock
feels like the AI only reload the beanbag when it's empty, and not when they've just used a few rounds
According to Steamdb there is no new patch perhaps your installation bugged out and needs to redownload data

Nope, Void have stated that performance optimizations will be in the next 2 hotfixes, in the mean time try DX12 or DX11 if you're using the opposite

I have been getting some weird stuttering/lag in frames on and off but it's random and not that often, seems to start usually when I first start up the game and go into the police station. I play DX12 with mods.

I want it to look as good as when VFX is set on 'High'. Thing is, with VFX set to 'High' I get a lot of nice shiny reflection effects off surfaces: I don't really value that kind of graphic fidelity and I rather have some extra frames per second.

It has a lot of the different weapon stats
basically buckshot has higher damage total if all the pellets hit, but obviously you have the spread so slugs are better at range. buckshot with a choke is like half way between buck and slugs I guess
The top floor on the second entry side is death for the ai. They will just walk in and die most of the time if you aren't careful
Also I usually just c2 the morgue because there can be like 5 guys in there sometimes
Pretty sure shotguns are super weak against armour in this game even slugs which should be better against armour than buckshot iic

You can pretty much guarantee a straight up kill if you shoot the limbs with buckshot since the dismemberment range is super high

My take is if you want a lot of dismemberments, go Buckshot. Slugs have lower chance to dismember. And even against armored suspects, Buckshot will annihilate them

Don't really go for dismemberment... Just a realiable 1 shot - 1 down. So if a slug reliably penetrates armor and enemies go down with shot to torso, that's good. But I did a bit of sa search about mechanics in RoN and I read people complaining about slug being bad and buckshot working better with armored enemies so... That's why I wanted to ask. Yeah. I really like the idea of suspects surrendering and then pulling a weapon. The first time I went to arrest on 4U and got stabbed to death was a cool moment. But it feels like they do it the majority of the time so it's not a surprise anymore

My best guess is that AI FOV works like a cone with a collider attached, where anything within range is detected and gets shot at possibly. This may/may not be why people get wallbanged magically through floors/walls.

rubber bullets don't make sense in a swat context
they're not less lethal unless you bounce them off a hard surface first. That's why they're used at range against crowds and in prisons with concrete floors.
beanbags and less lethals in general barely make sense in a swat context, that's already stretching.

Most of the game does not make sense when you look at the details and logic behind some decisions, because at the end of the day it is a game. Sending 4 guys with no resources or backup to deal with a terrorist situation is already nonsensical. Thats how games toe the balancing or choices that they want.
Ballistics/gear and the poor balance with some of the ammunition is another whole discussion.

Yes. Must be done in practice or campaign mode, and you cannot equip pull out any long tactical/nvg or fire a weapon that is not stated in the achievement or use a lockpick. Your AI can use whatever, but I would recommend SA58 with AP ammo, and not telling them to do anything other than follow, open and clear, or kick and clear if necessary.
You spawn with your primary in your hands, but swap away immediately and never swap back. You cannot press 5 or 6, and you cannot press v to use NVG. Facewear does not matter otherwise
Also no wedges or pepperspray or lockpick gun I think

Before 1.0, some of the doors throughout the building couldn't be lockpicked, and it was therefore necessary to have a keycard if you wanted to open them quietly. I don't know what's the deal with them now, it seems like you can lockpick every door and the card doesn't do anything as far as I can tell.

Oh, that I know, I don't mean NL / S rank tactics either. I mean... How to take advantage of the mechanic and minimise suspect stress / agression level while still going lethal. Like in a 'RP/realistic' manner where you do it a proportionate answer (I'm not going to shoot you bean bags while your are shooting me with a freaking machine gun) but still try to escalate the situation as little as possible.
I am asking because I got the game recently, I became confident with general lethal and non lethal tactics... But reading the 1.0 patch notes I read this:
"Fine tuning of “stress” system: allow for positive feedback loop when playing using less-lethal weapons. Suspects (on levels where appropriate) will be more likely to hesitate at low stress levels. Stress increases as more firefights and other loud noises occur."
So now I wonder how to take advantage of that mechanics so you go lethal but minimise suspect stress... For example... Avoid flashbangs spamming? Or not? Or not using breaching shotgun? Or maybe breaching shotgun is preferable instead of C2? Or maybe battering ram is the best tool in this regard? Idk... Maybe going for incaps makes a diffence instead of killing for the stress of remaining suspects? idk.

My vague understanding of it is that, stress increases when you're noisy and violent, but reducing morale frequently requires noise and violence, so you're trying to balance this by using the minimum force that gets the job done.

Are you sure it's the gun? P is the default bind for toggling secondary sights, like on the 4x scope.

you change your rifles for missions? personally id just run the same one and use AP, aiming at pelvis to bypass the vests if possible and otherwise just putting more rounds in as much as possible

so that seems like a no brainer

on a standard target, yeah, but that isnt always the realism option
theres a few articles on pelvis shot placement on armored targets
