they did the same thing to me and i had to go in deph with them on this, i had to show them the error log from event viewer, to them thinking it was my "PC" fault such as firewall/antivirus which i told them it wasnt because if it was then none of us wouldn't had to get it running by setting up new user with the same software running and we already know its the antivirus

Yes. After the maintenance on Wednesday all characters will be moved to the Leap map, where they can't do anything except select a world to leap to. So if you still have items in auction house or still need to level up before you can leap, you're stuck.
On October 16, Challenge Worlds will be deleted and all characters still in them will be gone.

since making a new user fixes the issue it should be possible to come up with a better workaround to fix the existing user, though I doubt anyone is really trying to do that since maple2 works decently well. I suspect people that isn't working for are having a different unrelated issue

I don't know if this will work for you, but I did this when mine hanged. I end tasked on all Steam (I run Steam Launcher) and Maplestory entries in the process tab of Windows (CTRL+ALT+ DEL - Task Manager)

The entries were numerous for some reason. I found a bunch of entries there.
After I did that, I tried to reopen Maple using a shortcut. That started up Steam again, then finally Maplestory.

Try the free version of Revo Uninstall. When it does the registry part, make sure you only mark the items that are Nexon related (It will give you the whole Path tree, but will bold the sections you want to pay attention to.

For those that aren't able to launch the game, try changing your desktop resolution or playing with your video driver. 2 of my laptops are the same and both of them don't work unless I change my resolution or disable my video driver. It has something to do with the resolution of the main menu screen.

I would recommend:
- try using GEForce Now to leap
- try installing Maplestory on the PC of a family member or friend and using that to leap
- try a PC Cafe if those exist in your area.
At the same time, we should pressure the CMs (I'm not going to ping them now but will do so during working hours tomorrow) to have Player Support accept tickets asking to leap characters for people who can't launch the game.
I don't know what ticket response time is like right now (backlog etc) so this probably should be initiated now, instead of at the last moment.

There are always launching problems. Try typing !launch in #ask-cygnus for a thread with some fixes.
