Well, the Appeal is rather there in case you got banned wrongfully. Not to admit it in the hope it will be shortened or to discuss the ban, it's there in case you got banned falsely to info the GM.

If I have to guess about 5% of all Appeals are ACTUAL appeals of false issued bans, thus 95% just appeal in the hope admitting it or discussing it will shorten / remove the ban
