Well i used to collect a generator from small companies to keep the temperature, its called genset here. Loud af thing which u have to return before lifting off the container in the docks

A lot that have only reefers have especially if they got a whole section just for negative temps and the preload area too they’ll inflate air cushion in the dock so it’s airtight and basically no heat can get I. Or cold out

Customer knows about temperature drop while opening the doors + loading time, so they ask for highest possible temperature, so when it drops, and you shut the door when they finish, there is still cold enough to keep the stuff frozen

Did unload here, and had to wait those 3 hours before i could load again, but leaving earlier also would not help as the stuff would not be ready when i arrive at the next depot, so that would mean i would have to wait there

Fun but tar they arranged rest times for ya and then just ya know have u sleep 3 hrs

Well, this one had rest times, sometimes they plan a 30 minute break at the start of the shift, amd a 30 minute break at the end, and you have to do 7+ hours of driving and 10+ work hours without any rest

And at the depots you are not allowed to take any rest at the docks, only at the parking spots, if they have any, and if not, you can leave the yard again and park somewhere else

So unloaded, drove from the depot, circeled the block and parked on the street 500 meter from the depot

Also at some depots the roads around it are no parking zones, so that makes it not fun to find a place sometimes

You will be surprised, in Amersfoort they will drive rounds to check, and they don't give warnings, but you will get a fine directly and you can find a different spot to park

Here’s a fun one for you guys. A woman decided to park in our section of a shared carpark (which is marked as our property) right where we park our single deck trailers, so I took point

I then unhitched and moved out the way

There is enough room for her to leave, however she came out and started demanding the trailer is moved, now I said to her “Feel free to be more polite about the request” to which she called me “A f-ing rude and inconsiderate man”, so I offered her one last attempt. Naturally she held her ground, so I locked my cab making sure she was watching and simply said “Have a pleasant afternoon madam”. She’s now currently screaming at my boss who’s telling her that this area is reserved for us to conduct our duties.

Update: As I was typing this she’s threatened to call the police, my boss has called the local parking enforcement team.

Bundesstraße is 60 Max for trucks

However most drive 70 or something like that

Maut goes via a tolldevice that ur employer should install in your truck

Usually mounted on the windshield

Most speed camera's can't tell the difference between trucks and cars but newer ones can so be careful

And those blue ones aren't speed camera's but maut cameras

Furthermore beware for overtaking bans cuz the BAG/BALM only sees money

MOST IMPORTANT most highway parkings and autohofs are full at 5pm so plan accordingly. I have some spots that I know are always space which I could send if you need them

Final point for the love of god get a good dashcam. Especially for young truckers, no police officer is gonna side with the young inexperienced foreign truck driver in an accident
