gotta love morning traffic
This is a disaster for German drivers because they don't know how to keep in the right lane
I drove to france last year and i can 2nd that
Try driving anywhere near köln in the morning or evening
Drove through Hamburg in afternoon traffic the first time i ever was there
nightmare
Never thought I'd live to see the day the rheinbrucke got finished
Now the other 500 baustelles in the ruhr area
Including that pesky vollsperrung at ludensheid
The reality of being a trucker is that you constantly have to wait for other people
get the yellow and white plates for extra waiting time going into the eu from brittan
For even lesser waiting times use tweety
Yellow plates yellow truck and a local legend
i can hear the daf warning signal noise just looking at the picture
Boat nightshift
Dutch Drivers be like
but Especially American Drivers are just real bad
France is in the same boat here either we have a slow one on the 3rd or 2nd lane for no apparent reason or they keep the 2nd lane for themselves and you’re obliged to overtake on the right
That’s why we need Bullbars
Looks like a good day where was that?
Gothenburg Sweden
my hometown
Todays job
just be like the truckers that go to kruidvat heteren, wait 2+ hours for mothing
I thought you wouldnt need to wait with yellow plates
now the question: do you like it?
wow it looked very nice i also noticed you was in neutral was you coasting to a stop?
damn thats intelligent as hell i like it
new scania trucks do that as soon you let off the throttle
to save fuel
idk how it actually saves but yes
technology is too good for us
indeed
Well all respectable full size trucks do..
Ive only ever driven Scania so i dont know about the brands
Last time i drove something other than a Scania was when i took my license and that was a Volvo
Understandable.
Your truck?
Yes
Where did your fuel tank go?
weight saving

I didnt
I just said okay we'll call office when you find them bye
Eating healthy is very important for truck drivers. So anyways here's a picture of our docks on a Friday night
Is Red Bull recommended for Truck drivers over where your at legos
For consumption wise it’s too much energy like you might not stop and then you get a ticket for being up on the road too long
Oh I gotta ask so what’s up with the stripe on the wheel does it decrease gas consumption
No…. What is your problem?
I was wondering what does the stripe do
there is no flour on the wheel
Oh is hybrid wheels good for driving with
Like in snow and rain

Ok like is driving in Europe better than American im just wondering like what are the advantages to driving than what America has
why would a simple stripe on the sidewall of a tire decrease fuel consumption
it doesnt contact the ground at all
Ok my bad I didn’t know
is there common sense in your brain because damn that's easy to find out
I guess I’ll thinker harder to the drum next time then
in my country we prefer monster
Is Red Bull crap bc I think it is monster eh it’s ok
in my opinion redbull is complete trash and monster is ok
Is there vending machines that serve them at rest stops
we just have kiosks and small stores by gas stations, in sweden rest stops like the ones in germany netherlands etc is basically nonexistent
And why are they nonexistent in the NL
i think u missread, im saying in sweden where i live they are
not in nl
ive been in nl and u guys have proper rest stops for trucks
Oh I asked I thought u knew from searching it uo
I mean yeah but I haven’t been there a long time since I’m back in America now
So you only talk English and not Swedish or both when your talking to drivers
i only drive in sweden but i will sometimes meet people from other countries and then its english
To be honest I might move there since there more to do than seeing boring trucks over here over where your at y’all’s trucks have more detail and makes look good
i love the look of a peterbilt with chrome stacks but nothing beats euro trucks ❤️
I have seen some Mack’s over near Groningen so and a few peters but that’s about it of American trucks
theres one guy here in my city with a peterbilt its always the coolest thing in the world
Do you like American trucks
yes, the look of a old big american is amazing
like smokey and the bandit
Does it look better in Sweden
Idk don't drink energy at all
If it fits it ships
And if it doesn't fit make it fit by breaking pallets
Hot damn
Going into neutral is bad tho
Using more fuel then in gear no fuel usage
Neutral it keep feeding for certai. Rev
since its a rare sight def
thats good i think there garbage to your system and its not recommended to drink them your good at keeping it healthy
Mine only does it in eco mode. Otherwise just switches gear to overdrive
End of nightshift
Overdrive good
Allow to keep v8
Cutie Patootie Pallet
Ahh so cute so your carrying something explosive
couldn't you get a euro pallet?
I just picked it up and it came on that,
yeah same, my boss has told us also we are only allowed to drive in eco mode
Lol
That's not explosive though, but rather flammable and environment hazardous
literally says it on the can🗿
it says flamable and not good for the outside
Should taste pretty nice then
Thats just a warning
Doesnt mean its a kaboom device
dont tear the roof off
nahh i aint, but it was like 15 cm from the steel beam
i always get scared when i gotta tip inside
I don't see this on the can
or shit like this
i wasnt saying that is on the can
Oh yea, it was @thick cedar, mb
i was saying the flammable sticker is on the can
Yea I was out checking a few times
huh
send some of that snow to ontario plzz 😭 my front yard is almost to the point i could cut the grass
This came overnight
That’s how much about 4 Feet of snow
im really happy its not snowing now
Rather snow than rain
can't we change? you be at school for me and i drive ur truck.
Not in a million years would I give this up
plz im with not smart people rn, and i don't have a internship
Wessels logistics is literally internship central
where? cuz i need it like today
only smart person in the room has this torpedo as truck
almost 3 hours. cuz no car
Yikes
Them slow down pretty nicely even at the slightest hills
-7

Clouds and snow
Very nice
I see like 10 a week atleast
I doubt roads being narrow is a issue
Theyll fit most of the times theyre not that much wider then normal trucks
Just a case of passing others that may be annoying in certain spots
They’re probably driving at times u dont see them
Because they're not common. That's why
I see “tank” transport once a week usually
But most of the times they arent carrying tanks
Youll see them in a few months time
The times they actually move tanks on it is low
Especially up north
When AutoK transports K9s to Lapland
I'll go transport Leopards to Lapland
Leopards are surprisingly quiet tbh
Really??
Yup
Everytime they drove past me in a forest i had to cover up my ears
I was literally next to one last week when it got cold started
Idk they always started acceletating like crazy everytime i was standing next to them
They probably did it on purpose
Because everyone bullies artillerymen
Kulju honor
Tykistö kulju
I was just a regular sotilaskuljettaja in service but nowadays I'm a EK sotilaskuljettaja in reserve
I found out mine last year. 2 years after kotiutus
C-driver, CE-driver, raskaslavettikuski, täydennysmies and raskasajoneuvoasentaja/MT-LB asentaja
Apparently its all of them
AutoK somehow messed up my papers when i returned to my main unit
Wanna hear something very aamuinen?
Kiertovartio

Thats actually not bad
Parola AutoK had a fire station bell thingy for waking up
Waking up at 5 AM to a fire alarm

It was genuinely so bad that i learned to always wake 15 minutes before it
Where u driving right now
Here
Where is here
Well it definitely isn't there

Flower Auction Aalsmeer
Question for the real life truckers, how was it to get the license in the other parts of europe (im dutch)
And is it different types of license
Its the same in all of eu so C,CE license
i took mine through school, atleast in sweden when you enter high school you can choose like a proffesion (idk how to translate it) but we took our licenses and everything during school so we had our truck licenses at 18 too
ADR is the only thing i got every single question right on the test and i have never driven it since i completed it
Or CE really only took half a year but C license took years
Mainly because i was in two schools at the same time
Its a bit silly how easy it was
And a lot of the questions dont even apply in Finland
Like the tunnel restriction stuff
tunnel restriction is one thing that theres a lot of in my city
Like we have 3 main tunnels but all of them are forbidden to drive through with ADR
so you gotta drive around just to get through
Howd you know
feels bad man
They close before 5? Damm
dumbest closing time ever
Good, took it in high school, got paid 300 euros a month but took 5 months
Damn in all of Norway there's only one
Wtf why
Yeahhh it seems the new truck won't be arriving anytime soon
Scania is having serious problems with delivering trucks to us
My boss is a bit fed up with it and talking about buying us Mercs
maybe Volvo if it gets too deaperate apparently
Merc i wouldnt complain about
But idk how maintenance would work out
If only we had Sisu E11
Masi
Rasi tho
Rasi was great tbh. The gearbox was fun
I mean yes driving was fun in mud
But our Rasi broke down 4 times
Like once it overheated and started boiling literally
Whole barracks smelled like pepper spray

How
A fh16 would be a dream
12 tie, the place to be
Dont thankfully have to drive there atleast this week
When the new lonkero drink starts being made then oh boy, probably gonna be 4 times to Lahti in a week

Gotta have to try that one when it comes out
Dont forget that its transported by two dudes who dont even like it kek
I really wanted to drive our beer truck originally
Lahen harmaa hits different tbh
What about sinebrychoff?
Same thing
Idk all of our weight scale codes are always named Koff Lonkero so i am too used to that name kek
AJT Rajamäki, Hartwall Lonkero and Koffi Lonkero

Getting a bit tired now
I'm not
When did your shift start
16:30
I started at 1 PM 🫠
47km to Lahti
So youre nearly done then aswell
These nights shifts are really just daytime shifts if i go to work at 1 PM
Meanwhile the one going to work at 1 AM is doing a morning shift, i love the logic behind these names
No bed time allowed
I wouldn't trade anything but a iveco or Renault for a mercedes
We had 1 and it's just the worst.
Sounds like a vacuum cleaner sweeping the lot r sum.
And the gearbox farts for whatever reason??
Dfds in netherlands or
Finnlines
only one in netherlands goes to newcastle which doesnt use ferry with open deck
Hey, any of you guys know how to pick the transmission, gear ratio and engine combo?
- no snow in the Netherlands
you don't have to rub it in you know
why does he have the plate in the middle
They do
Why not
Kolega problem
i have mine to the side so i can see but it just looks wierd in the middle

is that also in ijmuiden or somewhere else
Idk
It looks a bit more normal from the outside pov
I really feel like the finnish police has something against us
Its like the 3rd-4th time already into this year that we have been stopped
Might have something to do with the fact that its liquid ADR and that we drive on one of the most frequently patrolled roads, but still

police will stop anyone with adr plates on it
But like, youd imagine they would keep track of what vehicles might need to be stopped and what not
Our fire extinguishers and other stuff dont expire just like that
You dont need to inspect them every 2 weeks
My brain is not braining anymore
never did and never will brain anymore
No
since when does dfds have terminals in netherlands outside of ijmuiden
Forever?
where are the other ones
Warm
Finally 0
Give
thats warm
nvm -1 again
No winter pants, jacket or even a beanie
Very little
Thats why i always use handsfree
Although my own car is too ancient for those features
Always nice to have a clean and nice made bed in the truck
Ok but
i want summer

Where u driving?
Maybe can spot u someday before i go back to forssa would be nice

Hämeenlinna atm
Uh is that close to where i am
Heading to Tampere
I geuss u wont drive here because theres just a ski resort around me
And santa claus tourist trap a hour or two away
Close to Ruka, hell nah
Aww
Ill be back someday with car
Stupid prisma charged me for 3 cases of beer vs 2
Is it true police must come to look back camera? @
@summer valve

Tf u mean
Ur the fin here
Dissapointed i havent seen scandinacian style trucks tho
I haven't been in trouble with the cops really

Lucky
The kind policemen told my colleague the reason why they stop Simeon trucks
Apparently we are the easiest trucks to inspect because our trucks and equipment are always up to date, so its less inspecting for them
Lol
Half of the inspection was them being excited about the payload and they just kept asking where we take it and what drinks are made from it
Yeah i think its that too
Tbh at this point it doesnt even matter
After all i still get paid while they inspect
HML?

It's here, come over
Where do I have to go ?
Southern California, USA
oh
last week was +26 one day
That's a bit too far away xD
yeah
Lol
wait 26 + !?
Yes, very hot summer in February
Last week we had temperatures around -21 to -17 degrees and 1 meter of new snow
it snowed
woman
how much can you load on a 5 axle?
Depends
Legally on the road 52tons
On private property 65
And the truck empty is 20tons
oh damn
here in sweden the most common for just truck is 4 axle and we can load 32
dont think ive ever seen a 5 axle
idk what the absolute max is tho
heaviest ive been is 40 with no issues
i understand göteborg and nothing else, because i don't speak Swedish.
yeah sorry
he was saying there was 2, 5 axles trucks in his area but he lives in northern sweden and i live in gothenburg so its a lot diffrent
sorry next time we speak English
i don't even mind it, maybe someone with a yellow name cares about it
Is my name yellow?
i mean de discord yellow
No comment
@viscid dust @calm parrot please keep in mind that this channel is English only like every other one, the only exception are the language-specific channels. #discord-rules
yep
atleast no snow
where in belgium? the northen or the southern part?
ok sorry
Mechelen
They literally made the city ring part bike only
Put on flashers and a hivis
Nah
32 is max
i meant like before it breaks
A lot
well true that since ive been 10 tonnes over being safe (inside a quarry not on the road)

All
Appearently this is called a "dormer" in english. Who else here has a crane on the truck? And/or crane-operator papers?
This one is a palfinger pk78002 sh
The reason i hate coworkers sometimes sooooo much, changed my bed yesterday, other person who drove today had the brilliant idea to put the floormat on the bed to keep it dry, well, i can change the bed again
Well there you have it
Can't ever pick up pallets straight again because God forbid you open the curtains in the rain
he should have thrown it at the passenger side
He should have 100%, i'm really pissed tbh, just got everything cleaned and changed yesterday, and now i can start over again
Each day there is a different driver
And no set schedule
Yes
I drive the night time, and day time someone else drives, but i'm the main driver of the truck
We had a dutch but seems he left
Theres a aussie that runs hiab sometimes but forgot name
Cranes for life
Guess im the replacement dutchie lol

Had to negotiate with my boss about next week cuz of the striking stuff since on tuesday and wednesday Anora is gonna close entirely so i cant unload there, probably means my union gonna strike at the same time too
So i agreed on saturday working too cuz money
Atleast your not driving in paris
if you want to keep the truck running for longer yes
Welp Alternator’s dead so Im just here
are all yall non american drivers?
Also when you try to keep your truck clean a little bit. They give it to a collegue for a morning and here is the result
oof
when i was otr I kept my crap clean
like CLEAN clean
didnt even wear shoes past my seats.
Literally had a pair of slippers for anything from fridge to bed and my shoes from seat to outside
got it washed once a month. Swept twice a week,, and wiped down the dash, steering wheel, and walk way
The annoying thing I can’t get it cleaned because I need to buy supplies for that

where did you buy your mats?
Picked them up from rekkamies.com
Good site
I just go pick everything up from the warehouse. Only a 30 to 40 minute drive there
Practical
Me and my colleague bought a new side table for the Scania
Dont want to put all my stuff on the bed

Busy day 🌹
Not runnin gtaut for once?
For you its only the floor thats dirty they toss the floormat on my bed
PK-78 with a flyjib!
In my country we have weight limits so we can only really get up to PK-65’s on our trucks without being overweight on a certain set of axles. But we have a Fassi 710 with a fly on a Scania which is pretty nice. And we are getting a PK-65 with a flyjib on a V8 Scania
Docking level: KOLEKA
Me everytime i have to go on dock with my van
Either its on my liftgate perfect or it isnt

Especially on the docks where i dont fit so have to use it
Doesnt help i got those little popup cart blocker things and no tools to remove em
I wish i had a bigger crane cus mine is only a pk-27
and i always somehow get shit that just too heavy to lift

Yeah, I mainly only use a PK-23. But been able to use PK-65's a few times and the Fassi 710 once. Pretty much anything above a PK-40 is so smooth to operate.
we're allowed a max of 50t except extra long trucks. but our axle weights are only limited to the builders specification I belive. I have two 10t axles infront and a 13t drive axle and the last one I forget tbh haha but very nice still! which country are you from?
my friend, we all do haha. People alwas be trying to save money on cranes. and then complain when they can barely do what they ask. I think only when you get above a 100 ton-meter you get expensive enough that they start to calculate.
I've operated a HMF 3720 also and it worked very well
but that's ofcourse very close to 40ton-meter
Yeah and i hate it cus with this was i was told "oh yeah its only 5 meters away when you drive in"
I get a worker to help me which one i was supposed to pick up and he tells me its the one FURTHEST AWAY
i hade to move all of them to even get it out
you can even see i had to pull the crane back just to get it down again
cus palfinger when its on 100% the only thing you can do is pull it back
Gotta love it when customers just straight up lie
no straps
No need
the sideboards aint gonna do anything since they are stacked 2 high
if they were only 1 high i guess yh then there is no need for straps
U know theres probably more sideboards
but 2 high definetely need straps
yh no i know but i can see there is only 1 sideboard
and 1 plank in between the thingies
told ya i aint a nub
i passed my first theory for my trucking license last week and 1 of the things was load securing
you still driving containers rowan?
Koen do u ever open this chat?
@formal minnow same
what do you drive, liquid?
No
i dont mind the A7 at purmerend begin closed for anything above 30t
it's a nice drive in the weekend 😛 but I only now realize how little pleople will understand what im on about
google maps exist
true, but not everyone will care to look it up

I’m from NZ. But it’s quite cool. The scania at our company you can set the airbags up to put more weight on one axle or whatever. So you can play around with the weights on the axles. So if you get stuck, just adjust the drive axle airbag to put more weight on it and your set.
I ain't gonna strap all that for literally 700 meters or so
Okay 3km but still
First 1.5 km is tiny tiny landroads anyways
And a grand total of 3 corners
Try and get caught in a 3km trip loll
Got hazards and flashers for a reason
Yh already i did not know that
I would prob still strap it kek
I strap everything
Curtains are a sort of load securing device anyways. They are able to withstand a certain amount of weight.
I'd demand a new mat. Luckily I'm the only one to drive my truck so far
exactly
you got orange lights for a reason lmao
1 hour 20 of waiting behind no trucks...
Been waiting 1 hour for this guy
Feels like everyone is just having to wait today
Been awake since 11 PM and random waiting is probably gonna make my work day go over 15 hours
Tis fineee
did you really just say that
like i dont want to sound rude
but thats just stupid to think
curtains itselfs are in no way a securing device just in no way
Depending on how heavy it is
Its definetly enough to secure a load with
Is it recommended? Maybe not
Some are
Many curtains are equipped with vertical bars of aluminum or something like that
Everyone has
Besides uk
They got no boards nothing
well yh but those are not the curtains themselfs
im talking about just the curtains
Cold
A little bit
@turbid latch day shift is gonna have a fun time

The amounts of time i put my van away like that
Then realized i got few days off so if it gets used ill get complaints (meanwhile they never fill back up agter use either )
Your check engine light is on 😳
The engine isn't on
Mhm ok 😜
I've been told that fueling up is done by the day shift. So, if they don't get fuel, end result will be pretty empty tank
Same here, although not all drivers do sometimes get that memo, so had to fill up multiple times to make it
My boss reminded everyone about that less than a week ago
I have coworkers that only drive once a week, so they just don't bother filling up as they don't drive the next day either
Lucky enough my good coworker is getting back to work after being sick for over a year, and he always fills up when its half way, and we have 1200 liters on board, so there is plenty left
Although i just offered for my good coworker to fill up if needed as he is not 100%, just to help him out
Winter makes a Truckers Worst Nightmare but also slippery.
Yea no shit its slippery, thats the only bad thing imo...
Tuuraaja moment
Or atleast they always forget to do that..
winter my beloved
Agreed.. but not at work
Sun rise was very beautiful this morning
winter is ass
tomorrow again? 3x is scheepsrecht
well its a quarry
Literally scheepsrecht
Probably everyday the next 1-2weeks
My great colleague just released his first YouTube video driving up here. Check it out 😁
Driving over Bjørnfjell during strong winds with blowing snow following the plough truck.

netherlands and bridges
Yes
@rugged cape Fellow konkulega! We run Bauhaus and Rusta every mornin
What's that
And konkulega for that matter
Visibility yes
i love spinning out on icy flat ground, had to throw on chains
Welp I let stress get the better of me and doing dumb things when unloading to a place because there’s no signs and because I didn’t asked questions and I ended up taking slightly the wrong path to unload and slightly hitting the roof on my cab and knocking out one of my emergency lights cover above
Happens
I am not a trucker however I am curious on what your jobs are like, saying this to ensure I am not impersonating anyone lol
For me its an easy way to earn money, dont have to do that much physical work
But i am still planning to go to a school because the salary isnt great
I used to debate wether I should join the army and become a royal logistics driver however I am scared of planes so it wouldn't be suitable for me as those trucks are always being flown to somewhere.
Different truck?
Cant u tell them u wanna be in country support only?
I don't know, however armies are traditionally like if you can't handle it don't sign up.
My old truck
Money isnt great in trucking its sad unless you have your own company
In canada its 50 000$ a year if your a company driver its underpaid its such an important job
Which is why i wanna be a traffic engineer
Or do what my dad, grandpa and great grandfather did and be a train driver
Im still gonna be a trucker coz thats what im passionate about
I missed school to go trucking with my dad when i was a kid
I was born into trucking
Main one in maintenance or
Not really
Theres ways
U can always join them as a civilian
Maintenance yeah
It has as many healt complications as you let it have. You can prevent pretty much all of them
I think it depends on what age of you are
In my company most old drivers are a bit out of shape i think
Young drivers here take all benefits the company gives
Like free gym membership and healthcare
The biggest health issue that truckers share with train drivers too is sleep problems
Everyone in my family who has been a trucker or a train driver suffers from sleep apnea
i am not making myself look any good either, supposed to wake up at midnight and its 18:12

Cuz they drive like idiots and dont slow down
Maybe buu for alot its a passion and lifestyle to be one
And adjusting the seat properly helps too 👍
Quick stop at home for a shower and some food and then time for another 220km headed Zeeland
I know trust me its not something that im unaware of
Disagreed but sure..
How come you disagree?
@thin crescent I got more spare time while working 1 full time and 1 part time job now (trucking) compared to before... (mechanic)
Get to spend time with the wife and friends without any hassle at all..
I start at 4 in the morning doing 10 hour shifts and couldnt be happier
Well tell that to him not me.
I'm going to start tomorrow as a passenger and helper as I go through training and get my licences
Must be nice being able to park at home infront
Take a shower maybe cook at home vs skipping it or dirty truckstop
Easy to explain, see the bus drivers here sometimes too, have the seat all the way down, on dump, and being a few meters infront of the axle will act as a lift when they hit a bump, that will kill the back really easy, also bus companies like to use cheap seats that don't have a lot of adjustments to fit every driver, that also doesn't help, and there is a reason why trucks and busses have seats that have air suspension.
Also i have back problems from my previous truck, had the wrong type of seat that was not suitable for me, never could find a comfortable way to sit in it, and the backrest was to narrow for my wide back and shoulder, in the last few months i drove that truck i did eat a full strip of 10 paracetamol a day, drive a different truck with a seat that is suitable for me and 85% of my back problems are over, still have the ocassional shoulder pain, but that will remain for a while as a result from the seat of my previous truck.
Its seriously annoying how bright speed cameras are at night time
One camera on my route is bugged and flashes everytime i pass it, even if i go under the speed limit
Ive been blinded by it every single week since July
The police must love looking at the pics it captures or something
Wow
Surprised noone smashed the bulb out yet
I will
wonder how long he can drive with it
Till it falls off
It cant drive if it drives to much pressure on the other tyres
And then all say boom
Its funny seeing others have their shifts end before 9 PM and then theres me
2 hours till shift starts only because my colleague is too quick

tiny volvo
Does the job it's supposed to
No. I change it 4 times a shift
to a different kind of body ?
Swapbody. Quicker to load and unload cargo
Ah
What a difference a few lights can make
Almost touching the bottom of our trucks

And i got stuck the shovel had to push me 😂

Ancient technology so whaddya expect
Them to replace it

Not really but ill just do tomorrow shift next week
Probably better that way since i am horribly tired rn
Fell asleep in sauna
Was nice seeing you again
Does anyone have tips for a learning driver? I have my driver's licence for a car for over 10 years but now decided to become a trucker and go for C and CE so truck and truck with trailer. I started lessons and I have trouble finding my spot on the road, for my feeling I drive to much on the left side so I go to the middle but then I go over the line on the right side. My instructor also said I'm being too nervous and am not looking ahead enough, I'm kind of overwhelmed.
Best thing is do, is to forget everything you know from driving your car, take your time for everything and don't try to rush, also if you habe problems with the lanes, ask your instructor to do some extra driving on a industrial area that has lines, this way your speed is lower and its easier to get a feel for it
And look as far forward as possible, and watch the mirrors a lot
it was
my top tip is listen to the instructor, they're usually right lol
if you try to keep the right line near the middle of the dashboard you're usually in the middle of your lane
Thank you
Nah it was genuinely just being too tired
I dont even drink alcohol so it was a bit scary
Damm
He's changed jobs again?
I remember that at one time you were working with Volvo Roll-On..
yes he was
and then they were basicly well we dont have work for you
so u can either be on back of a garbage truck or adios
and now hes at zandink
very nice company that is
I work with Roll-On too but now I'm going drive a truck with a trailer.
nice
The Roll-On is nice, at first I was very wary but over time I got the hang of it.
thats with everything
Are you a truck driver too?
Soon
Should have my medical test next month
then starting most likely with theory asap
Got it, are you planning to go international or just local?
Depends
ill be stuck at my current company for a bit ofc
We just drive benelux
and very very rarely i think thers a far trip but ive only seen that happen once
Got it, I'm having an opportunity in the same company but the aim is to travel far.
id like to own my own truck someday and drive to scandinavia etc
england and that stuff
anything tbf i geuss
aslong as its a nice country
Owning your own truck is the best thing, although it's a little more difficult..
Benefit of finland etc is that theres barely any romanian / poles etc driving there
Yeah definetly
but its a dream and one can hope
that they acomplish those
After a while I want to buy my truck and maybe expand to more in the future..
Any opinion on a good first international truck?
Depends where u live lol
Exactly
Portugal
Right
well i geuss it really depends on what u want to do
and if your starting id just get a reliable maybe bit older and used truck
or just start with leasing
scanias are pretty nice imo
not a bad choice
daf is nice
but like
'tededem often
u dont wanna be 2000km away from home and have your daf shit itself for the 100th time
Yesn't
i saw a total of 1
On my route i see lots of drivers from Baltics and Poland
I mean technically i am one since i have dual nationality
xd
In all honesty i dont really mind where the drivers are from
I have never had any issues with other Estonian drivers for example
the amount of issues ive had with the lithuanians polish hungarian romanian etc 💀
Ig its more of a problem in Western Europe then
The only nice ones ive met are always once who i presume own their trucks
as its always a nicer specced one added on stuff etc
not kolega white with plastic
I might do a few trips to the Baltics at some point during summer
nice
I told my boss that i have no interest to drive a semi Volvo anywhere during winter
But spring and summer is a different case
Only our swedish trucks go there sadly
ah
The furthest i can go is either Germany or Lithuania
ah
Finnish ethanol is some of the most expensive in Europe so i dont wonder why
probably better quality tho?
Oh yes
Hella well made
Our Estonia ethanol truck's driver Kuido said he only entrusts his Volvo to me because i am the only other one capable of speaking Estonian and Russian along with him
Probably the biggest compliment ive ever gotten in this job
lol
alltough what language they speak shouldnt matter
their care for their truck does
and in a extent their personal hygiene
i wouldnt want someone to drive my rig if they dont care about it or themselfs being clean either
Well yeah but in Eastern Europe you can't really expect to hear English everywhere
yea
u cant expect them to speak english here either tho...
even the ones who work at companies here 💀
Kuido was picked to drive the truck between Estonia and Finland because he is the only one who can really do that
i geuss speaking both languages is making it a lot easier
Yes
to just say he can do it
And he is the only one willing to do it
haha
Its long work days
Geussing he has to rush off boat
Like i dont wanna sleep in a truck tbh
Yeah
and im geussing he unloads and loads before going back
He just happens to live next to the alcohol factory where he usually unloads stuff
so has to rush to get cleaned etc
Right then it makes sense he dont care
hell just sleep at home
Exactly
Im willing to do it sometime again since it pays very well
International ADR is good
yeah
And the whole ferry trip is financed by our company in a way that he gets free food and free sauna
And a free cabin
when i get truck ill have to get adr as they dont wanna bother with having to figure out who can and cant
but i doubt id go into pure adr goods
Would be weird he doesnt
I bet he still brings his own food and just pockets the food money but
cuz thats just extra money untaxxed too so
tbf a cabin isnt a must imo
but only if u can sleep in your own cab on boat
wich most dont allow to stay in cabs
Well not on a ferry trip from Estonia to Finland which is 2 hours
as they seal off the car decks
But the one and only time i did Travemünde-Finland was pretty exhausting
Then its just relax a bit igeuss
isnt that like a 24 hour boat ride
30 hours
ah
Yeah but 30h on a boat with limited to no internet is boring
the only thing that will be fun to do is get shitfaced drunk
Maybe if you do trips between Finland and Western Europe all the time then youd pick the boat
'but i dont think your boss will apreciate that
i mean can time it with mandatory breaks but still
I just wanna drive outside Finland for the sake of seeing what other places are like
Boats ive been on enough already
Having to go see my relatives and family in Estonia means i am taking the boat pretty much all the time and that gets boring
yea
when i was in finland (not the past 2 weeks but before that) we went on the boat to sweden and back
and all we did was just drink
otherwise its not fun really
ive got boat to england in summer for a trip one is day trip so i doubt itll be much entertainment as in drinking
but the other one i got a night trip so ill be alone but can have some beers to entertain myself and go sleep
cant see why anyone would enjoy boat back and forth to travel for work
Gotta figure out a way to make my truck float on water
haha
New dashcam arrived
Old one is having strokes on a regular and no way imma be driving without
you really need 4k?
Only because they didn't have 8k
I've got plenty and plenty of money so best invest in something that could probably save me loads more
Good to hear, mind sharing some footage if you have any 😅
uh
yes
other vids show me driving to my house so wont share that
i should really get one for my van lol
quality is ofc bit worse cuz its edited

scuse me
