Yeah, it just goes smoothly. Once in combat, you just say your in combat and then figure out the turn order. So if a player wants to do something “epic” or “cinematic” to start combat, they can actually do that and not be interrupted with people rolling initiative and the DM spending minutes figuring out the initiative order to start combat.

Combat with DnD BX or AD&D was far more simple. You roll a D6, and the highest number usually goes first. Very simple.
Shadow of the demon lord uses a similar initiative system. It can result in players hemming or hawing over whether they want to have a fast or slow turn that round
At a real tabletop it can be smoother than 5e or Pathfinder initiative. In a vtt 5e/PF style initiative is resolved in literal seconds so it's the smoothest.
I love the Shadow of the Demon Lord. Lots of fun.
what specifically do you find “crunchy” about it?
I'll answer for cosmere fanboy since I agree. When making a character there's thousands of player options, including spells and feats, which you have to sort through. It can make leveling up a slog. In game there's lots of little mechanics to remember and track both in and out of combat.
Unless you were asking about crunch in cosmere
Which has a few aspects of pf combat crunch since it borrows some of its homework, but I don't expect it to be nearly as crunchy. I haven't run it yet tho
I have some mild concerns about the system but I'd have to get play and run experience to see if they're born out
...This is going to be more work than I expected
It would be way easier to like screenshot and print or something but printer paper is too floppy
gotcha. thanks for answer!
If you have a printer of your own, you can absolutely put stiffer paper in it. If you don't, then print it on regular paper and use a glue stick to put it onto paper of your desired stiffness
...and my stormlight rpg books have arrived, yay
My 5e players have officially decided that they want to play something different, and of all the ttrpgs they could chose from my bookshelf, they have chosen the Cosmere RPG for our next game. Which is fairly humorous for me, considering only 2/5's of them have read a single Sanderson book. I'm excited all the same though! We're having our session zero tonight. 🙂
Hey folks! Jillian from Brotherwise here. I wanted to share our Cosmere RPG signing schedule for Dragonsteel Nexus. Our booth is A-26, the entrance to Detritus Game Room:
(Minor update: Dan will not be available on Friday)
For me, it’s the dozens of classes, player options, spells, feats, abilities and many more mechanics to memorize as a GM. As well as remembering the stats for monsters and other characters. But I am loving how things are put together in the game and I’m looking forward to running it. 😁
If anyone wants to report this for plagiarism (and enjoy looking through knockoff Cosmere RPG) have fun
Me: okay there's some similar aesthetics and AI slop, but plagiarism?
Game:
The [bleep]
No, you see this isn't Stonewalkers, it's Stoneswalkers. You walk on even more stones in this one.
also, what was this word even supposed to be?
SBIDCC?
Oh, it's Bridge
And reported!
I always wanted an AI slop hardclvor book. So convenient to get it shiprged through backerkit. And if I get the GM kit in Canada it's only 35 mysterious units of currency. I'm concerned about them not consadiating wave one and two shipments though.
Or is it Stonetowalkers?
This is nearly a d12 but is also an abomination
Yeah, I was just looking at that. They like 4's it seems.
What do we think? How likely it is this is true? 🤔
I think this is about 0% likely
Bu-but, why would someone lie on the internet?
I can't decide between using my opportunity on a free assist or an assist...
So if a blank means the test proceeds with no no twist, that means there's a twist of some sort?
Complication is intimidating me. Who is Setteok and what does he do once he's been introduced?
setteok looks Korean
So-tteok so-tteok (Korean: 소떡소떡), sometimes translated as sausage and rice cakes, is a popular South Korean street food consisting of skewered and fried garae-tteok (rice cakes) and Vienna sausages brushed with several sauces including mustard and spicy gochujang-based sauce. It is a portmanteau as well as a reduplication of sausage (소...
Sorry, guys, take this to #mythbound
(I've let Brotherwise know, but in the future you can probably let @rich pumice know directly)
curious, is Brotherwise gonna have annoucement panel for the con? Heard they were working on some fun stuff but I can't recall if we will learn about them today
They have a panel in 30
I imagine we'll see some Mistborn RPG, maybe some Shards of Creation. We'll have to wait and see if they do secret things
flawless victory
Damn, that's fast
well you see, Kickstarter has invented time travel but only for ttrpgs
And also only available for backers
I mean, Brandon Sanderson had two of their biggest campaigns, he probably has a bit of sway with them
Spelunking is a more fun word
Found at my local game store :D
Damn now I'll never have Pacts to awaken living lanterns and echoing bells 😔
Taught a couple of my friends how to paint minis and had them paint some for the Cosmere RPG
I'm not done with mine (right) yet
Haha. We might have found a Dawnshard in this here cave...
-# We didn't. Sadly.
Playing the First Steps/Starting Stonewalkers again this Sunday, but I’m shifting the game from before the reveal of Amaram as “Leader of the Knights Radiant”, to the last week of the Weeping so that the Parshman player will experience only one session as a parshman.
Anyone who’s played the game before/knows the WOR/OB timeline well, can you tell me what changes I’ll need to make besides the fact that they’ll be in the middle of the ||Ameram/Ghostbloods fight, and the Everstorm on the ship to Rathalas will be the second one?|| (Stonewalkers)
@cyan hinge you are going to want to spoiler-tag these for Stonewalkers (or move to #1391792347020267643 )
Yes and yes
Is it worth rushing for Resuscitation as a heroic talent? My DM said to be prepared to level up during the session so I’m trying to streamline choices beforehand.
Also if anyone has any guidance on how Swift Healer is meant to work it would be appreciated. It feels like it should be obvious but I’m just not seeing the point of Field Medicine being a free action if it can only be used once per turn and I’m very confused about the additional health (cause doesn’t Field Medicine already do this? Is it saying it doubles it? I’m just very confused)
I think that is effectively what it does, yes. Field Medicine also has a chance for failure in which you don't add your ranks in medicine, and Swift Healing would cover that plus give you the bonus if you succeed
The little skill gremlin in me wants to keep taking the ones that get extra erudition skills. But I should at least consider swift healer if I want to get to resuscitation soon
How do you guys interpret advantage and disadvantage on the Plot Dice? What's your ordering of the four outcomes from highest to lowest?
Obviously Complication (4) is higher than Complication (2), but is "No result" worse than that or better? Opportunity might be the highest if you've already passed the roll, but not if you need the +2 to do so...
Advantage in Cosmere rpg isnt based on "high/low" its "roll two dice and pick the one you want"
That solves that then.
-# I didn't have the book to hand and was trying to sketch some hypohetical rules changes in my head.
Disadvantage presumably then becomes "Pick the one the ST wants"?
GM picks
Yeah its the "GM picks"
Not that I've seen anyone use it on the Plot Dice yet, only the d20 or damage dice, but good to know.
Using it on the plot die is kind of... wasteful. Redundant at best. You'll often be using opportunities to gain advantage, so using an advantage to... fish for an opportunity, which you'll likely turn into an advantage is kind of circular
Eh. If you somehow end up with enough Advantages on your next roll that you have no other dice to use it on, then I don't see why you wouldn't. If you didn't, you'd only lose it anyway. :)
But it's certainly last on my list of dice to spend it on, for sure.
Depends on the build.
I just watched the We Geek Together video on the 400 player Stormlight one shot called Stormlight Heroes of the Lost Desolation, and it was epic. Glad the players actually won, and where is this gonna become canon? For Brandon’s Stormlight books or just the Cosmere RPG itself?
Good, because that was so weird. 😂
What do you mean “where is it gonna become canon”?
Like will it be part of the books or just a module for the rpg?
I dont think it will necessarily become canon
Official adventures are canon
But not necessarily official actual plays
And this wasnt even official tbh
They said in the video that the one shot will be considered canon in the Cosmere. So I’m just curious if it’s going to be mentioned in the Cosmere canon or in future books.
Just an event for dsnx
Oh, nm then.
Yeah, and it seems to be an epic event. I can’t even imagine running a game of 400 people, while getting messages from captains, who are getting updated information from the GM’s. It looks awesome.
I was at the shattered plains one last year as a gm, and it was a blast
That’s awesome!
Did you watch the We Geek Together video? It makes me wish that I was there.
I didnt, no
I'm running the Bridge 9 adventure at my local gaming store next weekend and I'm very excited
I'm glad the book came with sheets of the pregen characters I can just hand out
Anyone here have a character sheet from nexus?
wdym? like a regular character sheet?
I'm assuming a character sheet from one of the one shots being run (most relevantly the Mistborn one, Pedal to the Metals)
Yuh this one
We were wondering in the Cosmere rpg discord why one hadn’t been posted yet because thy were allied to take them home
Possibly the people with them aren't chronically online in fandom spaces.
I hear that's a thing that exists anyway... Not sure if I believe it.
The silent majority of Cosmere fans
Do those look different from the regular character sheets for the Stormlight rpg?
Nah, it' just that they had details about Mistborn character options on them
That’s awesome!
Finally ran the first steps! 5/6 of my party was there, and because I had modified the encounter so that players with backstory could have story moments - 1 player fully committed a murder on a story relevant NPC (player shenanigans), 2 players rolled a barrel of firemoss on the Shardbearer and made him trip BALLS (player shenanigans), and instead of the Thanadaal army trying just blindly hurt Kholin, Highprince Ruthar is specifically stole a set of Shardplate from one of Kholin's kithsman, a Shardbearer named Chanadar Markhay (an non-Brandon NPC and one of the PC's father) and maybe more, I can't say.
Also Ralanat, instead of being greedy, is actually just incredibly petty and making a key error in judgment.
Big Thanks To:

Has anyone started posting up their custom campaigns? I know thats a thing in the dnd communities
Do I need anything beyond the starter kit for running longer campaigns later?
I think you'll need the Handbook at least, it's where all the "classes" are
Holy hell it's 1.5x the price of the entire starter kit lol
TTRPG prices never fail to make my student wallet scream
Trying to work on some Truthwatcher Oaths, anyone up to helping me make sure they fit?
-
I will seek the truth of the One in the faces and stories, perspectives, and lives of the Many.
-
I will reveal Truth to those who seek it, even if I am the one being denied Truth.
I wanted to make sure this actually do fit the themes in the Guidebook
I think they’re fine, though for the third, when they say “even if I am the one being denied”, what exactly do they mean? Are they revealing the truth to themselves? Because that kind of just feels like the second ideal.
Yeah it depends on your character there. The theme of the Third Ideals at large is living up to the tenets of your Order despite your personal biases or failings.
That Third Ideal could work, maybe for a character that believes themselves undeserving of Truth for example (similar to Teft's)
Or if they’re afraid of knowing a truth that may change their worldview
yoooo. before the official release of the cosmere system (and plotweaver after it), i made a baseline for my own plotweaver content (i did a really good job estimating power & scaling from two early release Paths). my plotweaver setting is a cyberpunk dystopia set in the (allegedly) last habitable city on the planet. the most advanced tech they have is mechanical body modifications and implants, but they have hoverboard tech from centuries before, and the secret to how they work is forgotten.
there are also ghosts and feruchemy-inspired powers, which are external only. instead of metalminds, you have a Gift, which is any given object of great sentimental value to you (though a skilled biomancer can charge any object into being a Gift). when you hold your Gift, you can project your power to people nearby, and when someone else holds your Gift, either of you can activate it to help that other person (and so, it can be dangerous if someone steals your Gift without you knowing!)
an example of one power is hypercognition, another is rapid healing, and another is that any power available to you is half as effective but can be used for twice as long. there are a total of 8 powers (in 4 complementary pairs), and they're based on blood type. also any part of a person inside another counts as a Gift (e.g. blood transfusions are illegal, for this specific reason), and even the soul of a person counts as a Gift.
i actually started out with Brando Sando's online lectures on writing and developed the magic system to be explicitly compatible with magi in the cosmere. with the advent of the plotweaver system, it's actually really helped me develop the magic system further. the title for the book i'm writing (and very much stuck on!) is Sparker's Saint and the Will of the Wisps.
...also hi.
If I have all the physical products, what would I need to try to join online games? If the physical group i try to do soon falls apart I would like to know my options
in order to join an internet game, all you need is an internet connection
That is good news. I worried I would need to pay on some site or get virtual products or something
More the idea of having been kept ignorant by family / society/ etc. and learning the patterns as to why those things happened so one can understand more ways to break the cycle of ignorance and manipulation.
The character in question for the third ideal would be partially seeking Truth in the world around them so they can identify who they are outside of their childhood and young adulthood familial emotional abuse.
I think the third could use a bit more work.
Or more aptly the third is about channeling the offense and anger of being denied a Truth into further digging into it, because someone is trying to hide something, and someone is specifically trying to keep the character in the dark.
I think that's where I was trying to go.
Any rephrasing suggestions are welcome.
I mean…how far along are you in the campaign? Your Third Ideal might be subject to change depending how the character has developed.
Tbh at this momnet this is more theory crafting to make variabts of once I can get into a campaign, with a dash of personal development framing
funny enough i did a sanderson-approved radiant quiz and found that i'm pretty much half-and-half windrunner and truthwatcher, with truthwater only just beating it out by a few points
I know what you mean; I wouldn’t be playing if I weren’t running the game
Often Ideals either work against powerful feelings, or help see beyond great amounts of hurt. So maybe you could try:
“I will reveal Truth to those who seek it, as I now seek (once sought).”
Or
“I will reveal Truth to those who seek it, especially to those who need it as I did.”
Quick rules check, if anyone has knowledge: For the purposes of Focused Condition, what counts as an ability? Would Off hand attack count, or other actions available to all characters?
It applies to basically everything that costs focus. Reactions, spren abilities, off-hand attacks, talents, you name it.
The only thing I'm not sure 100% about is resisting influence, but at my table I'd say it counts for that too
reading through the Dustbringers section in the player's handbook and realizing I am for sure part of the problem Dustbringers have the reputation they do
I think you're running into a potential issue with the Fourth Truthwatcher Ideal here, namely about revealing Truth heedless of the consequences
Maybe more "I will seek the truths that hold people back from becoming who they are meant to be in life" e.g. focusing specifically on lies told to teens and children that keep them from exploring options
If a scenario in the Cosmere RPG is "tier 2" what level should the players be? Is it just anything from 6-10?
yes
How long was a round in combat again? I forgot and I somehow can't find it.
10 seconds
Thanks!
Or 10 heartbeats, if you will 😋
Anyone remember off the dome when Mistborn stuff is being added to the rpg?
Thanks Arg
Axehounds are ready for First Steps 🤓
do we have any insight into when the mistborn stuff is coming this year?
The website says fall, I don’t think we’ve gotten anything more specific
I think the vague suggestion was always "About the same time of year as Stormlight did", but that's never been a firm thing as far as I recall, so it might just be an assumption on my part...
I love when my character's chaos makes the story spicy 😌 https://youtube.com/shorts/VR5jIEA32-g?si=MNuLAIGCwzBQtV0j
With so many new surges, everyone's a little unsure about what to expect… Although, it is the Loose Canons.
You should expect a fall by now. Join us for another incident with gravity tomorrow, January 22nd!

Is anyone here running an ancient Roshar campaign? I was thinking it would be fun to explore being a radiant after Aharietiam but before Day of Recreance. Would love to hear any tips or words of warning before I start this journey 🤓
Could do false desolation?
For sure! I’m open to anything during that time period, I feel like it would be really fun to explore since we don’t get a ton of it in the novels.
thing to know, Aharietiam and the False Desolation are about 2000 years apart
Yes super appreciate that call out, I didn’t realize how big of a gap there was until prepping for Cosmere RPG. It’s been neat to explore the world from a new lens 🤓
I mean a silver kingdoms game might be cool
Like the idea that at some point the kingdoms coordinated their tasks.
Yesss! It would be cool to have Oathgate access right away so that players can see a big variety of locations
Do you want to do it at the start of the desolation, when civilization is at its peak?
Yeah I think so. Kind of have to do it that way to have fabrials and stuff, right?
You could be pulling up the old stuff
They did say that fabrials were different in the silver kingdoms age
Like voluntary spren fabrials were a thing
Honestly really jealous I can’t go to this xD
$450 per person?
I mean it sounds really cool but that’s a higher price point than I was thinking of…
I’d pay that just to have a reliable group
I mean I am paying for a regular Stonewalkers campaign and that’s like… 15 sessions, so it could be more reasonable than I initially thought.
But then I’d also have to cover the flight and lodgings.
It's in my area but I already have plans during that time...and also this would cost money
Hmm, yeah it seems cool, but im not sure id be willing to fork over that much just for rpg sessions. Maybe if it was featured at a larger con like saltcon, but not as its own event
Thats like $75 per day, which doesnt feel too bad to me if you've got pro dms, but the extra needs of travel, food, and board make it a bit more difficult to pull off
I like can’t even wrap my head around what it would be like to play that much of an RPG in such a short period of time 🤓 40 hours feels like so much gaming
Does the starter set come with any of the rulebooks?
A short one but yes
Awesome. Found it in a local store. Might go for it
Hmm. First test session of adding the Plot Dice to every roll seemed to broadly work... Makes Focus a bit more swingy in terms of how much you have, and there were a few roles that it felt odd to be adding it to, but otherwise it certainly did aware with the additional (shared) cognitive load of working out whether to add it or not.
after having my initial party flake on me just a couple weeks before we began, am finally gonna get to do a solo campaign with a good friend 🥳
Horray! Hope you have fun!
thank you!!
Brotherwise games update. Looks like they are done with the Mistborn playtest
Well, the last thing they were playtesting was Mistborn Scenarios
i cant help but homebrew... i saw how the worldguide taunted with the voidbinding glyphs on listener clothing and i took that personally. now am crafting a story where the stormseat inhabitants were voidbinders (presuming the listeners found the voidbinding clothing in the ruins), and theyre also the lost sailors on the infinite sea. but thats not enough for me. emberdark ||im also bringing in a homebrew dragonsteel device/macguffin and 4th realm shenanigans||. ive not had a creative outlet for so long... its kinda scary though, my crazy/absurd theorycrafting isnt restrained to just thinking and now am gonna have to play it out
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/brotherwise/the-stormlight-archive-rpg/posts/4591697 Some updates for Mistborn Campaign setting. They confirm September release.
Also metal dice that I absolutely do not need. 🎲
Also metal dice that I absolutely do need
Also metal dice that I may or may not need
Anyone have any good aimian (either type) homebrew rules?
There is a statblock for Sleepless in the World Guide. Do you need more than that? I guess you could make some of the attacks unlockable skills, if you want rules for a PC.
And [Stonewalkers] ||There is also a Statblock for Axies, who is a Siah Aimian.||
gang i rolled a double complication tonight. It was during a Conversation so i didn't like die but it was big
Social death
the complication mechanic is so funny i love it. makes you more likely to succeed, but guarantees you fail in some way
I do wanna play this again when I read the books for lore purposes
I repurposed some old Pokemon code cards with images from Stonewalkers to make some NPC cards 🤓 I’ll hold these up for players to see when they meet key NPCs so that they can get a visual of what they look like🤘
Hello, i wanna run The Bridge Nine adventure for my friend group. The book says i should use some stat blocks for Soldier, Spear Infantry and Thrill Berserker. But i can't found those stat blocks anywhere
I don't have the Beta Rules Preview the book mentions, where should i look?
Back of the World Guide I believe.
Pages 252 to 255
They are also at the very end of the Bridge Nine adventure, at least in the PDF version
somehow I didn't think to check
and yeah, they are in Appendix A: Adversaries
(page 28)
Found it. Thanks everybody
For some reason mine doesn't have it, just an appendix for Spren NPC's
Dude these are gorgeous
Thanks! I found some playing card sticker paper on Amazon so I just took some screenshots of the NPCs in Stonewalkers and printed it on my inkjet
I’m starting Stonewalkers with my Chulldren of Honor group and I might steal this format and use comic book sleeves.
I just need something for the players to touch that could reveal to them Taln.
Spoilers for Chulldren of Honor and Chapter 1 of Stonewalkers || The theft of Taln’s Honorblade was several weeks before the Everstorm. Since 3 of my players are nascently bonded Awakened Spren so I want to give them psychometric interactions with things left around the scene to reveal what happened since they cannot witness them.||
Very cool! Yeah I ran the session yesterday and the players seemed to really appreciate having the visual 🤘
Is it normal to be downed at least once every combat encounter or am I just really bad at the game?
I'm pretty sure that's intentional balancing
I think it can depend on what level you are as well. Getting downed a lot at lower levels is fairly common in many ttrpgs in my experience.
not every build is for combat
depends how ur getting downed too. like if its always from melee damage, run away and rely on allies doing ranged. or if its from ranged damage, well hide behind objects so ur allies take the aggro. cowardice is a vital strategy to survival
Session two and "Plot Dice on all rolls" doesn't seem to have been too disastrous. Still managing to take squishy characters out, despite Focus being a bit more available for dodges and so on.
when a god is messing with fortune to make things happen just role like 50 plot dice
The biggest problem is that there's multiple talents that become useless
I have an open-ended complication on my Shin Assassin (not Szeth but she is also Truthless for similar reasons). As she’s already had her Oathstone taken by someone and she just got an “Honorstone” WaT||an Oathstone made by Ishar to lead the Stone Shaman to the Honorblade|| think I want her to lose that, too, maybe.
No, because you just tweak them to roll the Plot dice with advantage.
I have considered this. :-)
Where would I best advertise a livestream that I'm playing in?
Here's probably fine
We are starting a campaign to raise money for NerdHQ, and our first session is this Saturday!

Join us as we play RPGs live, where your donations may influence what happens in the story, in addition to providing therapy sessions for those who can't afford it by donating to NerdHQ partnered with TimelyCare. Our first campaign is in the Cosmere RPG. Strength before weakness!
That’s great news.
I have a question about the Complication Bonus. Does it mean that if I roll a 1 or a 2 on the plot die, does that get added to my D20 if I roll really high?
Yep
The idea is, kind of, if you get unlucky on your plot die (by rolling a complication), at least you get higher odds to succeed into whatever you were doing that invoked the plot die
That’s awesome. Also, the handbook says to put 4 ranks on your character sheet when you’re first creating your character, but I see 5 ranks on the Shallan character sheet in the next page. Do you have to pick a particular class to get 5 ranks to distribute or is it still 4?
Is this the human bonus?
The extra one comes from your starting skill.
Oh cool. And your health starts off at 10+ your strength, but what other the different bonuses and strengths that could increase your health at level 1?
No answer?
if nothing else says itll increase your health, i dont believe anything else increases it and its just 10+ strength
That makes sense. I was just wondering what other bonuses is the Handbook referring too in regards to your health number.
Its just it leaving wiggle room for if a talent increases health, or something along those lines
Great, thanks! 🙏
Hardy is the talent I can think of that increases health. A couple paths have it as an option
And I think they left wiggle room for future content to be developed
Mistborn Legacy is the most detailed adventure we've ever created and we can't wait for you to experience it for yourself! Make sure to head to our campaign on Backerkit to preorder your copy today!

I’m in love with the Cosmere and Brandon’s writing style. I was wondering if there is an active campaign for this happening rn?
Or if anyone actively wants/has in the past run campaigns
Cuz if not I would possibly be interested in running a campaign of it (I’ve never DM’d and don’t own any of the stuff and don’t have the cash to buy it rn but interested )
(Online campaign interest btw)
There’s ways to find groups to play. There’s a discord specifically for the Cosmere RPG that would probably help.
Ah ok do u have a link or way to get to that?
Let me know how your search goes
Will do
Thx
And r/lfg is a thing you can use as well
That won't be Cosmere specific though
Look up ‘Stormlight’ on reddits r/lfg
I checked last night and there are at least 2 Cosmere games
Yippee
I’m really excited for the Plotweaver system! What are examples of the three scene types in the Stormlight RPG?
Combats (self-explanatory)
Conversations (social scenes; think Vin in the noble balls, for example)
Endeavors (everything else with stakes; chases, heists, etc)
-# I think
-# it's been a bit since I read that part of the handbook
That's basically it, yep.
To be pedantic, I don't think Vin is in the Stormlight RPG
Someone hasn't played the Double Triple Secret History Module
but she is in this spoiler scope
||Thiadakar begs to differ||
Classic Way of Kings Combats: Szeth vs Gavilar, Kaladin and his Men vs the Shardbearer, and Eshonai vs Dalinar
Classic Way of Kings Conversations: Shallan petitioning Jasnah for Wardship, Jasnah and Taravangian’s musings about Atheism, Dalinar and Sadeas upon the Thath
Classic Way of Kings Endeavors:
Bridge Runs, The Reed Collecting, Shallan and Yalb’s Book Gambit, SIDE CARRY
(I’m convinced Side Carry was a series of successes with nothing but complications on the plot dice)
Thanks! Which part of the Handbook is this mentioned?
Nice! Great to know. 👍
Chapter 9, page 289
Why would you say that Yalb's book thing was an endeavour? Iirc that was more of a Conversation
The whole thing is an endeavor with a couple of conversations within:
The GM realizes that Jasnah came a little too hard down on Shallan, and gives Jasnah a chance to apologize. In a conversation Shallan succeeds with a complication - Shallan can petition again after she completes her studies.
After Yalb presents the idea, the Endeavor starts.
-
He makes a Lore test to find a book vender, great success.
-
Shallan makes her request, triggering a conversation. In the conversation. At the end of the conversation, Yalb makes a Deception test (assisted by Shallan) to bring down the prices.
-
Afterwards, Shallan decides to start studying right away, making another Lore Test and what can only assume is a double opportunity when Jasnah notes that she has returned and accepts her wardship.
Ah fair, I thought you were just meaning the deception during period in the shop (which this does call a conversation), rather than the whole thing
im glad you mentioned this cuz now ive been adding plot dice to basically all rolls and its really fun to come up with opportunities and complications for mundane rolls like perception. gives the player that fun dynamism of succeeding because of the complication+ or failing but still getting an interesting opportunity a lot more frequently
:)
Time to make a mistborn rpg adventure where the goal is to kill vin
I’m sorry I didn’t know you wanted a TPK oneshot
True.
What we need is a like one of those non-canonical crossover movies. Whimsy merges with valour and resurrects thousands of heroes from different books in the SR to duke it out in crazy land. The vessle is litterally insane and is spiraling in the real world, so hoid goes into the SR battle royal in order to get through to the shard and save the cosmere. With the parties help because he only acts by proxy.
huh, did yall know about the advanced adversaries book? i only just found it now when redownloading files from backerkit
the stats for nightblood are very fun. i love how it causes massively more problems for yourself/allies than it does for enemies, i feel like thats very appropriate. also, this is a neat way to balance that its "damage" isnt exceptionally high
very cool that its basically written in that if you manage to knock out a character, even if they have 300 health (nightblood only deals 2d12 spirit when unsheathed), it will insta kill them
normally the way i play/narrate is that health is like a measure of how damaged you are, and ill add roleplay flavour to "oh my arm was cut by that sword so im gonna use my dagger" or "i got knocked on the head so im dazed and not ready to retreat" etc etc, but with nightblood in the fray am very happy to accept "yeah it didnt hit me but it made me very fatigued to dodge it and im becoming paralysed with fear" to explain the health loss
Mmm thats a valid way of doin it ye
i mean ya but the advanced adversaries they put in this have some chunky enemies. if ur using nightblood against them to whittle down their health pool, itll kill you long before it kills them because of this
altho you can drain them of investiture to basically double ur damage which is funny. very fun weapon tbh
stonewalkers ||im sad they removed nightblood from this... if this is how it was going to be statted for it, i wish they kept it. it adds so much drama and spice||
"Lol im eating your soul"
I think technically only injuries are supposed to represent damage
Kinda weird that they'd name it health and not stamina though
You have a point to that, I think
oh ya i know thats the intent, im just a sucker for adding in roleplay to my combat. i find the pure numbers and minmaxxing best moves to play really boring, so i like to add flavour to help me shape what my character would do, rather than just picking what i know is the best move to do
i guess its reflective of what i enjoy in action scenes, i prefer the monkey man style where both participants are getting progressively injured as the fight goes on, versus just dodging or glancing blows each other until the rare actual damaging wound/death blow
i know its more accurate to real life to do it the latter way, thats why i prefer a more stylised/flavourful approach cuz i dont find that real life approach all that entertaining
I mean, why call it a grazing unless they glanced blows off the armor?
A lot of fights, even weapon fights, have people wearing down their opponents with blunted body blows or strikes the opponent tanked in chainmail
im aware of why its mechnically designed this way, what the intent is, how most people are likely to play it. this is genuinely just a matter of personal preference
i dont expect other people at the table to play it that way (they often dont), and im okay with that. i do it for myself as a personal flavour to increase enjoyment for me. if the GM overrules me, am fine with that
Mb I was trying to agree with you
Monkey man all the way
idk how people could play bridge nine as a one shot. just finished it with my single player (albeit like 5 main character npc's) and it took us 5 like 3-5 hours sessions to complete it, and i still felt like i was rushing a bit at times. i did add my own flavour stuff here and there but that would have only added an hour or two at most
it is very well crafted tho, provides a lot of drama and development and ive enjoyed using it as like a prologue to get me established with what the npc's and player character is like so now i can craft a continuing campaign from where it leaves off
Four hours sounds about right for when I ran it.
How is that not a one-shot?
Oh, "5 * 3-5 hour sessions". Not "5 people, 3-5 hours".
nah its only me and my single player cuz everyone else cancelled lmao. but ive tried to make up for it by making npcs main characters
I had a group of four I think, and it took about four hours. But it's been a year at least, so my precise timing memory has gone.
3-5 hours though.
My group took 2 sessions, each 2.5-3 hours. I'm new to GM'ing tho and we were all learning the system, so there was a lot of looking-stuff-up time
Running my first session of the Stormlight RPG tonight. Super nervous but excited. This is my first time GMing and I’ve never been a player either actually. Just listened to a lot of podcasts. Ha ha. Wish me luck. I knew if I wanted to play I couldn’t wait around to find someone else to lead it so I’m just jumping in. We’re starting really small with the First Steps character creation then onto Stonewalkers. We’ll only have about 2 hours each session so things are going to take a while.
are your players experienced at all? if so, its definitely okay to rely on them while you build ur confidence
Don’t expect to get through the whole first steps in 2hrs. You can do it, but if you don’t get as far as you hope, don’t worry
You’ll get to it when you get to it
its not about the progress, its about the fun 👍
Some yes, some no. I’m definitely not trying to get through all of First Steps tonight. Maybe the first 2 sections. And thanks for the support!
We made it through most of part 2 of the First Steps tonight and had a blast! Looking forward to continuing in the weeks to come, but especially as someone brand new to GMing, it felt like the perfect guide to get started with. So far it’s looking like I’ll have a Warrior/potential Stoneward, an Agent/potential Lightweaver, Leader/potential Truthwatcher or Elsecaller, and a Hunter or Scholar/potential Windrunner or Edgedancer. Assuming my players stick to what my tracking sheet is showing for them.
As far as the knights radiant, that primarily depends upon how much the players retain the characterization, but the tracking sheet should help you know which features to suggest to the players
Has anyone else struggled to get their books? I didn't get them in the first wave and had to email Brotherwise Games several times before I got a response. At that point they basically said 'so sorry, you'll be in wave 1.1'. It's almost 3 months later and I still haven't gotten them. I've emailed Brotherwise a couple more times with no response. (I did have some issues with my address last summer, but I ended up contacting Backerkit directly and they confirmed the correct address on July 1, which I'm fairly confident is before shipping started so I don't think that could be the problem).
You still haven’t gotten your stuff?
This sounds abnormal, I think everyone should have gotten their stuff
OK, thanks. I guess I'll just make a point of regularly emailing Brotherwise Games until I hear back from them.
Try to talk to them on their server
Thank you!
We did it in four hours last night. The only thing we skipped for time was ||characters sharing things about themselves during the night|| since we were over two hours into it and wanted to be done within 4 hours. They also just saw ||the bodies in the water|| and were just like "huh okay" and didn't stop lol
You do not recognize them.
scp reference i think
I am a toaster.
I printed the Blank Character Sheets from the website but in the [Awareness] box on the first page it says "Off"
Thanks!
I’m looking to finally playing this game. I joined a campaign recently.
I’m a day late, but I am homebrewed a Fool Specialty down the Envoy Path for April Fools
Though I based it on Hoid, I’m surprised how well Lightsong, Shallan, Rysn, and Wayne slot into this.
I am interested in seeing it οωο
I’ll preview it
Maybe if I have some time next week I’ll make it in full
It’s a risk taker for sure
i have a rule question, i assume its appropriate to ask for clarification here?
We’re not the rule makers so https://discord.gg/cosmererpg might be better for that
thank you :)
But I’m nosy what did you want to know
If you don’t mind me asking
We're not the rule makers, but we can still read them
oh sure, sorry i was in the server
but im back now
uhhhh: i was wondering about clarrification about the malleable form trait on shardblades, it states they can become any non-special weapon, but warhammers are listed as a special weapon and i was like "we've seen people make radiant shardhammers, is that supported by the rules?" and then i realised the intended way is probably to use a regular hammer as the form, and just not get the cool unique trait
IIRC "warhammer" is what they're calling Shardhammers (the giant hammers used by Shardbearers with no Blade)
yeah thats what i came to the conclusion of
yeah, it's in the same section as Shardblades and Shardbows
its just the book desciption never specified whether these shardhammers made by radiants were like the warhammers or the standalone hammers
calling it "warhammer" is wild, though, that's just a regular weapon name, lol
the unique quality of non-radiant shardhammers is that theyre reeeeaaaallly heavy. i dont think a living blade taking the shape of a shardhammer would get that same heavy quality, shardblade material is surprisingly light for its size
true, i suppose that is an explanation for the traits
i just love a ridiculously large hammer
but yeah, you can totally have a Shardblade change shape to a warhammer
it will be just like your average (blunt) poleaxe, except indestructible
-# and yes, it's still called a poleaxe
a radiant could carry a heavy chunk of metal on their back, ie the hammer head, then when they want to use it, have their shardblade form an encasing around it so you get the benefit of both the heft and the shardblade material
wow thats a sick idea
depending on the Radiant, they can scoop up or Soulcast the weight on the fly
i really wanna make a gravitation surge fabrial in the shape of a warhammer head that could modulate its mass
that's really cool
thank u :)
gods i really love that idea now
wait. my stoneward could potentially take a chunk of stone out of the ground and make it into the hammer head
ah yeah you did
it would be less effective than the gravitation fabrial though
more brittle
but you can also improvise it on the fly
if you don't have the fabrial yet, or if you've lost it or something
surge fabrials are very expensive tbf
I bet Tension could solve that
well actually I don't remember how it affects things that are already rigid, but at least might be within the window of plausibility
waitttt i could wrap the stone in cloth to hold it together and then make that cloth stiff
atleast in the tabletop, it doesnt
Can you improv special weapons?
not usually
i think this case might be gm dependent
Mmm.
-# how special is a big chunk of metal anyway
-# Depends on how Shin you are.
lol
Rope handled tensionhammer?
i could make that, but i dont think it would inherit the special qualities
I mean if you made it out of a dense enough rope, it could work like a suspension bridge
Those things can handle massive amounts of weight Because of the tension
true, but i mean mechanically
so it would depend on dm interpretation
i do like the idea though
it look so cool in my mind
I kind was thinking about the ways you can use Tension as a surge
Like an ultra heavy scorpion
true
imagine a block of stone with rope attatching itself to it that you swing around alteranating between stiff and soft, like a massive meteor hammer that you can control
That’s some Stormwall stuff right there
so basically a flail you can turn into a mace at a moment's notice
gonna be modifying the shardbearer duelist to have infectious thrill and lash out abilities from the thrill berserker, then i'll be pitting it against a team of five 3rd level players players, one is a full radiant of the first ideal, two haven't sworn their first ideal but have the talent (and will be swearing during the combat against this guy), and the last two have yet to get the talent.
would it be too deadly to turn the adversary into a boss with those edits?
Hmm, I think its possible people might go down in the fight, but depending on how many injuries they have going into the fight it doesn't necessarily mean the fight will be deadly. Considering most of your players have stormlight for healing I think you might be okay? Its fairly hard to die in this system unless you are in a situation that is dropping you to unconscious multiple times.
Dang it, I made another gag specialty when I was trying to fix the Fool up
The Wise Brother is based roughly around Raoden, with a little Teft, a dash of Hoid, helping of Kelsier, 2 teaspoons of Tindwyl, 1/16 cup of Cultivation, and about 1 Starling for flavor.
Thats a complicated recipe
It is…but I think it’s really designed to bring the best out in someone
I finally played in my first real session, and this game is amazing! I especially love the combat and how initiative is used. 😁
character idea: Purelaker who's traveling to catch the biggest and/or rarest fish
and bonds an Inkspren
("fish" being anything that lives the majority of its life in the water)
they end up catching a santhid
👀 They'd have a great time with (IotE) ||the Dakwara||
They would give Jasnah an aneurysm
they begin traveling the Cognitive and ends up catching IotE ||various other Negative-Ambition Splinters, accidentally reforms Ambition||
"i will accept that there is always a bigger fish"
That would be very elsecaller of them
-# a more sensible definition than we have
So I’ve now finished First Steps and Chapter 1 of Stonewalkers. And the hardest thing I’m finding as a new GM is that one of my players just super hates and doesn’t trust Taszo and so it was hard to get them to engage with the story sometimes. I mean it does fit their character I guess as a Vorin ardent to not trust a Shin Stoneshaman, but it is tricky. The other thing is the amount of meta gaming, but so far I’ve just told them when they are doing that and then say PAFO (Play and Find Out). Overall I think we’re having fun and I’m learning so yay for that.
Also, the meta gaming I do accept is my characters who are basically like “we are doing a prewritten campaign so even though running into a high storm sounds insane it is in character for my character to do it.” As a newbie I’m grateful for that.
It's not exactly the end of the world--there are other incentives to follow Taszo's path. (My players let Tazso die in the first steps so I sympathize with your struggle)
I am very proud at how I just tied Bridge Nine into Stonewalkers. It only took me five hours of cross-referencing the coppermind, the stonewalkers book, the bridge nine book, WoK, and WoR! Here is a snippet of the pre-session text I sent my players. Bridge Nine and chapter 1 of Stonewalkers spoilers:
||Two and a half weeks ago, you were summoned by Brightlady Matal, who informed you that she had another expedition for you three, though not one she was to join you on. A merchant friend of hers had written to her via spanreed that an injured Shin man named Taszo had come upon their caravan requesting travel to the Shattered Plains, claiming a Shin religious artifact was en-route to the Alethi warcamps. This piques Matal's interests for several reasons:
- The Assassin in White, a Shin man, has been killing high-ranking targets across Roshar for months now. Perhaps it is no coincidence that this artifact has been taken from the Shin at the same time.
- After the expedition, Eliah has been researching the Lost Radiants more thoroughly. A commentary she read on Words of Radiance suggests that some of the powers described therein match those described in Azish battlefield reports during the Shin Invasions - perhaps the Shin have Radiant fabrials, and one such fabrial is the stolen artifact.
- As now the sole representative of her House in the warcamps, it would be prudent to be aware of what this artifact is and who in the warcamps will be in possession of it - even if it ends up being simply a nice rock. The Shin are stone-worshipers, after all.
As a result, you were sent from the Shattered Plains to rendezvous with the caravan and retrieve Taszo.||
Here is a timeline of book events aligned with where I placed Bridge Nine and the beginning of Stonewalkers, very very mild spoilers for chapter 2 of stonewalkers:
Italics are book canon, non-italics are table canon. ||I assume the Matals are executed as their predecessor was, which Kaladin also seems to assume will occur. Since Syl is supposed to be the first Honorspren to have bonded anyone, I decided that Bridge Nine had to be after Kal swore the First Ideal since there's a chance a PC bonds an honorspren just after the events of it, but obviously it's before the Tower if there are members of Bridge Nine who have been there a year.||
Nice! I wonder if anyone's ever gone from The First Steps into Bridge Nine into Stonewalkers (or B9 into FS into SW)
FS seems difficult as anything but the first thing since you kinda make your character as you do it yeah?
I have only given it a cursory overview, maybe that's not really required
I am also unreasonably proud of ||Eliah's second reason for being interested in Taszo. Of course she would investigate the Radiants more after that expedition, and if the Shin used Honorblades and Surges during the Incursions, of course there would be reports of it, even if they were commonly dismissed. And of course some scholar who has happened to have heard both of those reports and who has read in-world WoR would make the connection - but in a world with soulcasters, they probably assume it's other fabrials which mimic the mythical powers of the Radiants!||
yeah kinda, so it probably would be
i mean, the end of FS is the "intro party" ||meeting Taszo||, you could probably have the party just,,, escort him to the Shattered Plains as a hand-wavey/couple tests travel scene thing :)
then they do Bridge 9 as a favor or mission to keep [[Important Stuff]] out of Singer hands, n then move along with ||Taszo|| and thus Stonewalkers
(this is what im probably gonna do with my party)
Ran most of chapter 1 of stonewalkers. Minor issue. ||The party went to help the wagon and did not check the bodies of the bandits, eager to help wagon get back and get it tied down before the stormwall hit. They also convinced Taszo to stay behind since he probably wouldn't be able to help get a wagon unstuck. It was pretty difficult to find a reason for Taszo to make the connection and go into the storm. I had him check a bandit body of one slain attacking the soldiers basically on a gut feeling ("why would they attack a well armed waypoint on the cusp of a storm?") even as the stormwall was approaching.||
I think it would probably have been better had ||Taszo been given the opportunity to spot Kaiana or Veth if left alone||, which is probably what I should have pivoted to in the moment.
Ran the rest of chapter 1 as a mini session today. These players have basically been making each combat trivial lol - the enemies just keep rolling so poorly. The bandits from the previous session only hit them one time. This session I gave Veth 2 deflect (because judging by his portrait he should have it) and they still completely styled on him, he hit two PCs once each. Part of me wonders if my fancy Stormlight die is unbalanced because I believe I've rolled 7 nat 1s on it and only 1 nat 20. A larger sample size will be needed, though.
The Zvynda pregen for Bridge Nine has several errors on it
the Expertises seem to be copied over from Vedd: Herazian expertise despite being Thaylen, Military Life, Hammers, Longspears.
The Perception has a +2 despite it being based on Awareness (already a 2) and having one skill pip (+1), so it should be +3
Report it to Brotherwise?
just went to their server, did searched for "Zvynda" and found it had already been noted
She has one extra proficiency pip she should not have (presumably the perception one) and her corrected expertises are:
y'all I think my players are going to end up Stoneward, Elsecaller, and Dustbringer, and knowing how they play they will get ||Kaiana to join the party as a Truthwatcher||, so I have the opportunity to do something very funny by adding a Windrunner to the party
How are you adding a Windrunner?
I'm trying to see the pattern and can't - is it to make sure they don't complete the back five set?
Just covering all ten surges I assume
alternates
windrunner - skybreaker - dustbringer - edgedancer - truthwatcher - lightweaver - elsecaller - willshaper - stoneward - bondsmith
(also an inverse pentagon but I don't think that matters)
ohhh
a pentagon't
Not sure if I will. If I do, by adding in Abena as an on-and-off NPC
is the die plastic/resin? If so, you should be able to float it in saltwater, and find any static imbalance that way
It's the one with the fluid and glitter in the middle. I do shake it up before I roll it each time. I will try the test still, though.
I have done the test. It is 100% a weighted nat 1 die
It doesn't matter if all the glitter is on the 20 or the 1 side. If I put it in the water it flips to the 1 side with the speed of a good magnet
ah that sucks. I suspect the orb with the glitter isn't properly centred
I'd be very curious to see if this is an individual, batch, or process/design issue
I'm going to test all of the liquid core dice
Well at least now the players will start to face some actual challenge in combat lmao
oh yeah I'm just wondering is all. Go forth and kill challenge some players
The plot die is also weighted but not to the same degree. It favors the blank side "beneath" the +4 complication side. It will sometimes hit the surrounding sides but never the opposing blank side
D12 is also weighted towards the 1 😭
wonderful dice to "gift" your sworn enemy
D8 is weighted most towards 1 and 5, sometimes landing on 3 and 7, almost never the even numbers
D4 is impossible to test
D6 and d10 seem to not be weighted
You might want to contact Brotherwise and let them know you're having issues! They seem to be really good with customer service
Yeah I was planning on it! I don't know if I just got a bad batch or if this is a known issue
I just test rolled the D4 a bunch and the distribution of rolls seems fine.
what makes the d4 impossible?
It is not the traditional shape, presumably to fit the core in
So the small pyramid on bottom will always point up, since it's not a regular polyhedron
ah yeah that makes sense, never seen one like that before
You could use statistics to figure out if it's weighted. With only four outcomes, it's probably a lot quicker than with other dice
Yes, I did 20 test rolls and the distribution seems fairly even
So I think it's fine
there could be a slight weight to it that I'd see only after many more rolls but I'm not too concerned, considering both how infrequently I expect to roll the d4 and how little the difference is in the range of values
For those who have purchased the cosmere dice bag, how large is it and what material is it?
6 months later, they have arrived
(context for whom it may concern)
#1391790178435207290 message
hope they end up being worth the wait!
so do I, lol
i'm curious about people's interpretation of flamestance. flamestance says you can gain an action to either gain advantage or use an action that includes an attack test targeting an enemy.
do others take this to mean that this allows two mainhand strikes in one turn even though the strike action says you can only do one mainhand strike in a turn?
Nothing in flamestance contradicts the standard Strike rules, so they still apply
It is designed to circumvent the one strike rule
What are people's experiences with turnaround on Brotherwise support tickets?
Pretty quick when I asked for a refund on a backerkit add on.
I made a ticket Monday morning and haven't gotten a response
Maybe @ one of the staff in kickstarter help and then direct them to your ticket?
I...did not realize Brotherwise has been posting previews of the Mistborn stuff on their youtube channel what
i don't even remember when that all was supposed to be coming out
...heck i don't even remember what all im supposed to get with my pledge
Yeah, I haven't really been paying too much attention to that tbh, as I only got stormlight stuff
Should be able to find out here: https://the-stormlight-archive-rpg.backerkit.com/backer/review
My character finally leveled up in the Stormlight campaign that I’m in and I am getting closer to saying the words. 😁
For backers, we should be getting the Mistborn rpg in July. It becomes available to the public in September.
You sure? Yesterday's upadte said that shipping will be in September and the official realse date is still set for November? Where did you hear about July?
Digital release might be sooner than physical release, but I don't think anything's confirmed yet
Will be curious how the RPG portrays the Koloss
In what way?
The video from the Conrad Delta portrayed them in a adversarial way "avoid clans of Koloss" (or equivalent) but Brotherwise "The Singers did nothing wrong ever" Games has tended to take a sympathetic view to non-human especially minority groups, which the Koloss are.
Also, afaik the Koloss are kinda the "Indians" to the "Sheriffs" of the wild west roughs. So seeing how an American company handles that will be interesting
I think the koloss will be very cool. Personally I want to make a koloss-blooded PC from the swamps who uses a thick Louisiana accent
I feel that Brotherwise does tend to spread the adversarial love, with Radiant and Fused Adversaries(though notably no Fused playability as it stands) so I could see a lot of heroic options for the Koloss Blooded as playable but the Koloss not so much. Not to mention Harmony gave them a lot more latitude to be good, so perhaps they won’t be as myopic as they were in the TFE
-# I changed freedom to latitude, but the Lord Ruler was not big on either.
I think there was more pressure for Brotherwise to depict the singers positively, because there’s a big danger in them just being treated as “orcs” since we mostly see them as the enemy army and there aren’t a ton of opportunities to see heroic singers compared to how big the rest of the books and cast are, in spite of the fact that their presence has such a major impact on the story.
Koloss have the potential for similar issues, but they aren’t as prominent in the world. Most enemies in campaigns will probably just be other humans since Koloss aren’t as common adversaries as singers could be.
I mean, the difference between singers and koloss is not all singers are zealous for odium, many just have nowhere else to go or are opposed to him even (like the listeners). Whereas the koloss are pretty much murder monsters due to how hemalurgy works
At least, they were in the Final Empire. I think that by era 2, the spikes have probably decayed enough to let the koloss have their minds
I am talking about era 2 mostly, yeah
Fair points
Okay, so September it is. That’s cool. 👍
Somebody in our Stormlight campaign finally said the First Ideal and it was epic! The ability to roll with advantage for every attack and other checks is supper OP, and I love it! 😁
And I’m getting closer to saying the First Ideal as a Windrunner.
Hello everyone
Hello!
How have y’all incorporated ASL Azish Sign Language in your games, or any other signing?
Haven’t yet. You got an experience or trying to formulate a plan?
I’m a partially Blind character who lost my voice for plot reasons and now will be doing more signing.
In real life, I’m also partially Blind and am used to signing for the blind in conception even though I don’t sign personally, and talking to my Deaf and hard of hearing friends through texting or hand writing. So I got ideas from our world, like my group will learn basic stuff and make up home signs, but I’m curious what everyone else is doing.
Haven’t gotten to Azir yet 🥲 have a character but most of games are Vorin😮💨
If anyone is curious btw
“MODE DEFINITIONS
Visual Frame/Box Signing: Normally the sign box is between the signer’s shoulders from the
chest to the face. With DeafBlind people who have tunnel vision the sign box is much smaller
and more restricted.
Close Vision: With close vision interpreting, the interpreter may use restricted movements as
above
or may use a larger signing space but with the interpreter sitting very near the DeafBlind person.
Tracking: The DeafBlind person will hold the
interpreter’s wrist(s) in order to keep the signs within the person’s field of vision.
Tactile Signing: Tactile signing is used by those who have very little residual vision or are
totally blind. The DeafBlind person will place their hand(s) on top of the interpreter’s hand(s) in
order to read the signs via touch.
Tactile Fingerspelling/Rochester Method:
The Deafblind person will place their hand on the interpreter’s hand and the interpreter will
fingerspell everything.”
There is also Protactile, which is like tactile sign language but honestly better? My DeafBlind friends use it and tell me it’s a lot easier to communicate.
That’s very helpful!
This is a new unofficial character builder for the Cosmere RPG, and it’s so much faster than Demiplane. 😁
Not sure why but I cant get that link to work
Yeah they've since taken it down
new
well, that didn't last long
It may have had content not licensed for fan/public use in it. I don't believe we will have free-use licensed work until Plotweaver comes out
I'm pretty sure the non-Brandon/Dragonsteel heroic paths will be under some permissive license for projects like this but likely not the Radiant orders and stuff like Artifabrian
They took it down and the developer of the app was very understanding and he has had great communication with Brotherwise. Glad it ended up ending on great terms. Hopefully we might see something like it again with the Plotweaver system becoming more widely available and the this systems version of an OGL coming out soon. And with that, maybe we’ll get companion apps that make character go a bit quicker. Because Demiplane can be very slow, even though it’s finally working for me lately.
I’m curious, will the Plotweaver system have different type of character sheets for the new settings? Or will the character sheets be nearly the same as the Stormlight character sheets?
I don't think we know yet
I expect a lot of but not a complete overlap
If you're on the Plotweaver Patreon there's some information there already about difference between it and Cosmere RPG
Thanks!
I know that there is a third optional character sheet page for surgebinding, I imagine they will do something similar for metallic arts and other cosmere systems. Would make sense for them to do something similar for their other independent settings too.
They might change some of the wording on like "investiture" as a resource and such, but much of the character sheet is fairly flexible to apply to many different settings
I'm kinda surprised they branded the character sheet with the Stormlight Campaign Setting logo considering I don't think there's anything setting-specific on there
True. I wonder if thats just a carry over from before they knew they were expanding into the Cosmere beyond Stormlight/making their own games with the system
It says Cosmere Roleplaying Game on the front and Stormlight Campaign Setting on the back
And it says "Stormlight Campaign Setting Character Sheet v1.02" on the bottom
I guess maybe the Mistborn one will have different border styles or something?
I got to destroy a weapon with Soulcast Parry/Defence in my home game on the weekend and I felt a bit like a god.
