So, I'll give my opinion about the event and it might be a bit salty.

The event idea in itself was nice, the three team for three different pool of potential addition made it interesting.

Sadly, I think that there were too much "quantity over quality" aspects.

For exemple, the "+16 for each 5 entries per team" for the trainer card made it somehow look like they wanted a quantity of entries and not quality.

The sprite = bonus point is the worst of all imo because how can 1 person get 33% of the point of their team alone?? It's just robbing all the fun of the event because no matter what other do, they could never catch up.

Some events were badly judged imo. I feel like the guidelines vs judging of the trainer card contest were opposite.

So to summ'up, good idea, bad execution, I'd give it a 11.5/20.

note for the team that planned this : you did a good job but you didn't anticipated all the details.

i do like the idea that if Ruby/Emerald do vote concurrently, if both teams vote the same 1st place option, 2nd place gets in for the Ruby/Emerald vote

overall I was too busy to participate but aside from the numbers and incentives being fucky, the event as a concept was really well planned and executed

i did play in the showdown stuff which had some issues, but i have a lot of sympathy for trying to shoehorn in an unpopular format on people who don't play it

a few spriters like myself learned the metas and had fun

to give some small showdown-specific feedback, in future it probably needs to be one/both randbats and PIF OU and nothing else.

Randbats is accessible and simple, PIF OU encourages the POA guys to play. The gimmick tiers were cool, but one issue seemed to be that POA players weren't incentivised to play as it wasn't useful for them to know the tier after the event ended. PIF OU also has some resources for spriters to learn from

both tiers are also significantly more balanced than the average discord user probably would expect also

I'm not gonna give thoughts on the spriting beyond what I said initially because

a) those events are way more popular so I'm sure you'll have plenty of quality feedback if you look in the right place

b) i don't want to sound like a critical knowitall when in reality it is much easier to point out flaws than stuff that went well. event organising is very difficult and thankless and it overall seemed like a really fun event on the spriting side

the schedule/calendar in particular was excellent
