The face and portal are lacking in creative application i would say, and the cracks in it are quite dark and dont really help to suggest the body shape. It looks almost unfinished to me. Thats not to say that it isnt a fun concept tho!!!

Lacking in creative application is such a broad term. How can it be lacking in creative application while also be a fun concept?
I do agree with the sentiment that the cracks are dark and doesn't help suggest the body shape. I also agree that certain outlines could have been done better. But I do nopt think these are major issues that would result in a 1.

Creative application has a lot to do with the execution of ur concepts, and i dont think that the concepts of a portal and a floating face were represented very well at all in this entry, the body is just kind of floating above a harsh cut off and nothing really suggest a portal design-wise. The floating face is cool, but again, it just kinda looks like the eyes and mouth of OG spiritomb but just cut from the main sprite without consideration to making it look like it belongs in the new composition. I think that if you had taken the time to make an actual face for those floating features to sit on, and maybe some sort of marked portal effect for the body to be emerging from, that u would have seen a higher score

Yeah mostly happens when the feedback is misunderstood or too «nitpicky». Usually I get along with people by just doing the edit roughly and let them figure out the details or chart out where I think on the sprite it needs to be changed.

But a fair amount of people just say «nah» to the feedback.

Each Pokemon is generated a 32-digit binary for a Personality Value which for a random Spinda would look like:
11111001 00111001 10101010 00001101
Spinda's head is split into 4 quarters. Left ear, Right ear, Left face, Right face. And each quarter is split into a 16x16 grid.
Each quarter is given one of those chunks of 8 and it gens that into co-ordinates. So the Left Ear's spot would be placed at:
1111x 1001y = 15x 9y.
Which means there would be a spot very far right and roughly in the middle of their right ear.
