For one, once I got back to the main surface, it just felt like the same map I've already explored with only some slight changes. Like copy pasting the same sign holding miniquest every 5 meters

And the world also didn't feel as authentic. In botw, the world kinda felt believable, while in totk, it felt like every character and every rock needed to have some kind of silly gimmick that didnt make it feel like exploring a postapocalyptic world anymore

ofc the contest is unfair, but as lots and lots times said by gamr and other managers, the contest is just a bonus and a way to celebrate and show the event sprites.
second about it, gamr said before that the destiny of the requests was a mix of draws and specific choices, he probably choosed the sprites that would be harder to sprite for more experient spriters, thats my bet, so its a bit unfair at the end, yeah, it probably is, but its not like we gonna be paid after win a usual contest here, is not sponsered, is not a special contest, so its really like 0 reasons to complain about it

dont even gamr is being paid to manage and host it

but bro is making polls and working hard to see everyone here happy and to make all of us have more fun while spriting for the game

and WHAT I UNDERSTAND about he complaining was not exactly about the contest meta that we have here, bigger fusion, sfx, volcarona, etc

was about how the SS Contest is unfair since we dont choose what we gonna sprite

u cant choose a big fusion to do, so its like "unfair"

and u can make sure about that with what he answered me after i did my joke

like huh, obviously people gonna vote on bigger sprites, bigger sprites have more space to work and are usually more detailed, its basically that. but ofc we have not that big sprites that do the same in a really good level

I get how it's read as complaining about the mons given out but it feels like they were more so complaining about smaller sprites being voted lower than larger sprites

The contest and winning something wasn't even the point

it's more like "fuck it let's make a contest out of it! Why not??" So of course there wouldn't be "fairness" in the sense of having the choice to play one of the "metas" to try to win or not.

what i really learned about a lot of time that i wasted being sad about scores low in contest here was: if im happy with what i sprited, is what matters, others people liking it too is a bonus
