I think the only issue with reading it is that without being able to easily tell where the eye is, it doesn't give you a starting point to have the rest fall into place. If you were going to go with a closed eye you maybe should have exaggerated it more with like a thicker line for the eye and a subtly outlined eyelid.

That isn't a bad thing tho. I just don't think it's bad to say that contests and normal sprites are aiming for different things ^^ I just think it could help to have something like an advanced-spriting-guidelines that goes over stuff like dynamic poses, perspective, etc

Maelmc said their outline was still not done, implying it was taking a while, out of the 4 possiblilitys the archeops line has by far the most complex outline with its feathers and talons, the other 3 have smoother features overall, with tyranitar being the second most complicated, logically it would take the longest, and be most prone to unexpected hiccups, hence why they sounded like their taking so long wasn't what they had planned

I am praying this is some kind of staff psyop to throw us off because i really want archeops to win in a later week when i can take part in the contest

Of topic but you know how some pokemon have design trends like rotom fusions often being basically new rotom formes related to the fused pokemon or how there is an #1052360360172199977 thread dedicated to removing diglet fusions that are just the body pokemon in a hole. If meloetta gets in i reckon there are gonna be a bunch of fusion that are just the body holding an instrument.
